No suicide note has been recovered yet. Asif Basra was well-known for his roles in movies like Outsourced, Parzania, Black Friday, and Kai Po Che. He had also appeared in movies like Jab We Met, Hichki, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, among others. Most recently, Basra was also seen in the popular web series Paatal Lok. Born in 1967, Basra moved to Mumbai in 1989 to start his acting career. His first stint was in the horror-thriller series Woh in 1989. He also appeared in the 2006 epic historical film One Night with the King with veteran actors Omar Sharif and Peter O’Toole. He last appeared in the web series Hostages on Hotstar. <ul><li>A few weeks after its launch, Amazon Prime Video offers a glimpse into the unique marketing strategy behind the recently launched Amazon Original Series <keyword id="9232238" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="paatal-lok">Paatal Lok</keyword>. </li><li>Gaurav Gandhi, Director and Country GM, Amazon Prime Video India shares tips on how to execute a large-scale marketing plan amid the lockdown.</li></ul>With a release during the nation-wide lockdown period, the digital streaming service faced various limitations to promote the show, including lack of outdoor campaigns. Below are excerpts by Gaurav Gandhi, Director and Country GM, Amazon Prime Video India on how these limitations were turned into opportunities. The Marketing Campaign Paatal Lok’s marketing campaign had three dimensions to it. The first was to bring the title to life ‘Paatal Lok’ – a word that derives itself from Indian mythology, and make it relevant &amp; contextual for audiences. We borrowed the concept of the three realms – Paatal Lok, Swarg lok, Dharti lok - layering them with present day context, to construct a relatable yet intriguing concept. Central to the campaign was the concept, story and the characters – and that really was the core of the campaign. ‘Haathiram’ , ‘Hathoda Tyagi’ , ‘Sanjeev Mehra’ were all powerful characters and we put them in the context of the three realms. The third element of the campaign was the unique visual language of the show which made it totally stand out. The unique thing about the phases of this campaign were that in addition to our efforts (of anticipation, launch and sustenance), the love for the show inspired a huge wave of ‘fan’ led marketing. In addition to the great critic and media reviews, the show created a pop culture moment of its own that saw fan-art to memes to other brand’s doing ‘moment marketing’ using the three realms – Paatal Lok, Swarg lok, Dharti lok. All of it further added to the show’s appeal and fandom. Change in marketing strategies with the absence of OOH and other outdoor medium With the growing popularity of the show, the distinctly different worlds of the show or the ‘Loks’ have become a pop cultural reference. This thought was seeded by the marketing team in early stages of the campaign along with a distinct visual identity. The campaign kicked off with an intriguing teaser, which was originally supposed to be filmed, but the team quickly pivoted to create an animated spot (given the lockdown), with Jaideep Ahlawat (Haathiram) lending his powerful voice to it We realised that given the lockdown the Media choices will be limited so the team decided to go even bigger on social and digital media (with support from TV). The campaign had a lot of hooks to engage &amp; build intrigue – a good example of this would be the a cryptic significance behind the time of the release of the trailer i.e. 11:34 am IST. The time, if read upside down, spells HELL (Paatlal) – and this was only revealed when we provided a preview of the trailer on the microsite 12 hours before its official release at 11:34 pm IST. The talent , creators and the team at Amazon Prime Video continued to build on the excitement for the customers using themes linked to the ‘Loks’, ‘visual language’ or now ‘iconic’ dialogues from the trailer right till the day of launch. 24 hours before the show’s launch, the creators, producers and talent of the show turned (upside down) their Twitter profile pictures to build the narrative of an upside down/inverted world. Moment Marketing Paatal Lok saw huge organic flow of memes which shows ‘fandom’ &amp; ‘love’ for the show and its characters. The format for the distinctly different realms of the show was introduced by us on the trailer launch day to contextualize the 3 loks, and once audiences got intrigued and connected with it, several brands took note of the same and tapped on it for their social communication thus further propelling it into a big pop cultural moment. Paatal Lok will join the thousands of TV shows and movies from Hollywood and Bollywood in the Prime Video catalogue. It's a difficult thing to do, to manage so many layers and not diverge from the narrative that they were setting in."Calling Renu the "only bright spot" in the entire series, "The Family Man" actor said her character is the only person who is trying to make the most of her situation."Up until the case falls into her husband's lap, his career wasn't going anywhere and she had made peace with that as well. "Even though their son is unhappy because they've put him in a school which is socially out of their league, the husband is frustrated, but in all of this she decides to take them under her wing so that they remain as happy as possible," she added. Gul is happy that the show, which began streaming on May 15, is already amassing acclaim. "It's gratifying to know that something you're a part of is being appreciated by the people. It's a gritty show and a brave attempt to be able to tell so many different stories in one section. The IPO is entirely an offer for sale by the government that is looking to raise ₹21,000 crore by selling 22.13 crore shares in the company. LIC has the largest individual agent network of 8.96 lakh as of March 31, 2021 and individual agents bring 96% of new business premiums to the life insurer. The life insurance giant is launching the largest IPO the market has ever witnessed. In fact, post launch, LIC will become <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/business/corporates/news/lic-to-be-indias-fifth-largest-company-after-ril-tcs-hdfc-bank-and-infosys/articleshow/91126730.cms">the fifth largest company </a>on the exchanges with an estimated market capitalisation of ₹6 lakh crore. Meanwhile, shares of the company are already demanding a premium of ₹45 per share in the grey market. LIC IPO: Grey market is already indicating a premium of ₹45 for the public issue that is opening on May 4

Last week, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/stock-market/news/three-ipos-set-to-raise-over-1800-crore-this-week/articleshow/96160133.cms">three IPOs opened </a>their issues for investor subscription and raised over ₹1,800 crore. All three IPOs were fully subscribed. They received decent demand from investors -- winemaker Sula Vineyards was subscribed by 2.33 times on the last day, financial services company Abans Holdings by 1.1 times and automobile dealer Landmark Cars by 3.06 times. At the same time, the IPO of <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/stock-market/news/droneacharya-ai-ipo-subscription-status/articleshow/96203527.cms">DroneAcharya Aerial Innovations </a>received an overwhelming investor interest, and was subscribed 262 times on its last day. Two IPOs set to raise nearly ₹2,000 crore this week

<ul><li>It has been a dull year for initial public offerings (IPOs) this year because of several concerns including the Russia-Ukraine war, rising inflation, higher interest rates and a strong US dollar.</li><li>However, the last few months of 2022 saw a pick up in IPOs.</li><li>The number of IPOs launched and the funds raised through them so far in 2022 have halved from last year.</li><li>Analysts believe the <keyword id="402627" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ipo-market" source="Orion">IPO market</keyword> could witness recovery in the coming months thanks to a strong pipeline and the recent successes of IPOs.</li><li>Popular garments and furnishings retailer Fabindia, Sachin Bansal-founded Navi Technologies and Biba Fashion are among companies that may list next year.</li><li>Currently, there are 61 companies looking to collectively raise ₹92,403 crore via public listing.</li></ul>The primary markets have turned optimistic since September, compensating for a lull in initial public offerings (IPOs) for a greater part of this year. Most of the 15 companies that listed on the bourses in the last quarter of 2022 have rewarded investors. Several concerns – the Russia-Ukraine war, rising inflation, higher interest rates and a strong dollar – led to a halving in the number of IPOs launched and the funds raised through them so far in 2022 compared to last year. So far this year, ₹55,101 crore has been raised through 32 IPOs (as of December 6), down from ₹1.18 lakh crore raised through 64 IPOs in 2021, shows data from Prime Database. In fact, nearly 40% of the amount raised this year has been through one IPO – that of insurance behemoth Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), which garnered over ₹21,000 crore from the public. “Between last year and this year there has been a slowdown in the IPO market. The difference is even more noticeable if you remove LIC, which contributed to a lion’s share of the amount this year. Primary market always follows the secondary market, albeit with a lag. Last year, markets were extremely bullish with a lot of liquidity floating around, which resulted in a huge number of IPOs,” Pranav Haldea, managing director of Prime Database told Business Insider India. The last few months, however, have seen an increase in the number of companies taking the IPO route. Issuances seen across sectors, except new-age tech A report by EY on IPO trends highlights that the end of Q3 (July-September) has seen an uptick in IPOs, after a slowdown post Q2. Technology, banking, capital markets, media and entertainment were the most active sectors in the IPO market in Q3, says the report “Issuances are happening across sectors, except for new-age tech companies. Now, companies have also been asked for additional disclosures, so it may be a while till we see a new-age tech company launch its IPO,” added Haldea. IPOs pick up steam in last three months of 2022 – Strong pipeline likely to propel listings in 2023

What’s the ruckus about? Currently, the OTT platforms fall outside the regulatory framework of the Central Board of Film Certification. This means that, by law, they are not required to get certified by the government and can release their movies and shows without any oversight. OTT platforms, which were formerly under the purview of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), were recently shifted to come under the gambit of the Information and Broadcasting (I&amp;B) Ministry. Recent shows like Taandav, Paatal Lok, Sacred Games, Mirzapur and others have come under scrutiny for hurting religious sentiments and being offensive to specific communities. However, the specific High Courts where these petitions have been filed have rejected or refused to entertain the petitions because they do not fall under their purview. Petitions against OTTs bounce from one High Court to the next In August 2019, for instance, the Karnataka High Court rejected a petition seeking the regulation of OTT platforms saying that the court cannot frame such regulations. More recently, the Allahabad High Court rejected the petition seeking to ban XXX2 and Paatal Lok — both on Amazon Prime Video — for the same reason. The bench headed by Chief Justice Govind Mathur and Justice Siddharth Verma told the petitioner to file his complaint before the relevant central government authority. In a third incident, the Madhya Pradesh High Court also refused to entertain a petition seeking a ban on Amazon Prime Video’s Tandaav. As of February 2020, the High Courts of Punjab, Haryana, Allahabad and Madhya Pradesh are considering petitions which are seeking the regulation of OTT platforms, according to <a href="https://www.livelaw.in/top-stories/ott-regulation-centre-seeks-transfer-of-cases-pending-in-high-courts-to-supreme-court-169723">LiveLaw.</a> If the central government’s petition is accepted, all of these pending cases will be heard by the Supreme Court.
