<ul class="summary-list"><li><keyword id="10798020" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="otto-wallin">Otto Wallin</keyword> fights Dominic Breazeale during a five-bout card broadcast Saturday on Showtime.</li><li>The towering Swede wants to KO the American so he can set up bouts against Deontay Wilder.</li><li>He also wants to do what he can to force a rematch against Tyson Fury.</li></ul><p>Otto Wallin wants to make a knockout statement Saturday on premium US network Showtime so he can force showdowns with prominent American heavyweights Andy Ruiz and Deontay Wilder.</p><p>The towering Swede fights Dominic Breazeale at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville as part of a five-bout event headlined by Adrien Broner's comeback against Jovanie Santiago.</p><p>Breazeale has not won a fight since a knockout win over Carlos Negron in 2018, but Wallin is expecting the best version of the Californian, regardless.</p><p>"I'm expecting the best of him but at the same time he's been out for two years, he got knocked out in his last fight, and I'm sure he'll feel like he's got something to prove," Wallin told Insider this week.</p><p>"He'll be taking this fight seriously, and trying to beat this up-and-coming guy. He'll probably come out and try and be aggressive with me, but I'll use my tools, and what I'm good at to be the boss in there, and not let him control."</p><p>Wallin hopes that victory this weekend is a springboard for fights against bigger-name heavyweights in the Premier <keyword id="6362171" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Boxing">Boxing</keyword> Champions (PBC) stable.</p><p>"The gameplan is for me to fight in the US," he said. "I'm based here, fighting on Showtime. If there's a good offer in Europe, and Showtime is on board, we'd consider it.</p><p>"The PBC fighters … there's a good connection there, with easy fights to make. And this is now my second [PBC] guy after Travis Kauffman, now Breazeale.</p><p>"I want to fight as much as possible," Wallin said. "It depends on how tough the fights are but I, at least, want to fight three times in 2021.</p><p>"Andy Ruiz and Deontay Wilder are the fights that are out there for me. Charles Martin, too."</p><h2>The heavyweight division is healthy</h2><div type="image" title="Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua" height="750" width="1000" msid="81126121" hostid="261"></div><p>Wallin told Insider that the landscape of the heavyweight division is exciting for him as a competitor.</p><p>The two heavyweight champions - WBC titleholder Tyson Fury and WBA, WBO, and IBF champion Anthony Joshua - are expected to take part in a two-fight series this year.</p><p>And then there are other talents like Ruiz, Wilder, Joe Joyce, Alexander Povetkin, Murat Gassiev, and Filip Hrgovic.</p><p>"Boxing is doing well and the heavyweight division is in a great place," Wallin said.</p><p>"The Klitschko brothers [Wladimir and Vitali] were great champions - maybe too good, so it wasn't that exciting because we always knew they were going to win.</p><p>"Now there's Joshua, Wilder, and Fury who are three big stars. And this is what boxing really needs. Heavyweight is really the big one.</p><p>"Hopefully they make Fury and Joshua because everyone wants to see it - me included. It's what is great for [the] division.</p><p>"There are guys coming up - I'm one of them. And then there's Ruiz, Usyk, Joe Joyce, Dubois also … he'll come back. It's a good time to be a heavyweight."</p><p>Wallin said Fury has the edge in the prospective Joshua matches, even though Joshua "has the tools to beat him."</p><p>He said: "Joshua has a nice style. I've been studying his win against Breazeale lately, and to me Joshua looked really good in there [in 2016].</p><p>"He looked sharp, strong, and threw good combinations. I think, maybe, somewhere along the way he lost confidence.</p><p>"I hope he can get that back because if he can, he can give Fury problems. Fury is a bigger guy, awkward, and has good momentum. And I think that right now makes the difference. To me, Fury is the favorite.</p><p>"I remember watching the Fury-Klitschko fight [in 2015] and we were all saying Fury was going to get knocked out, and Klitschko was going to win.</p><p>"Then Fury went out there and kept winning the rounds. Klitschko couldn't do anything.</p><p>Wallin has first-hand experience of fighting Fury, losing by decision in 2019, a fight he says he'd like to redo in the future considering the controversy of the first.</p><p>Fury, on another night, may have lost by technical knockout because of the damage Wallin's punches caused his face. The referee allowed the fight to continue, though, and he won a decision.</p><p>"When I fought him, we had a really good gameplan. I think we managed to take that awkwardness away from him, and so that style of his didn't take me by surprise too much.</p><p>"I tried to be aggressive with him. He likes to dance and have his hands behind his back, so I never wanted him to feel comfortable so he could do those things.</p><p>"I would like the Tyson Fury rematch," Wallin said. "I made it obvious I want it. But my career is much more than only that.</p><p>"He's never called me [since the fight]. I see him calling out all these different guys. In one interview it was like he was calling out 10 different guys, but I was not on the list, so I don't know what's going on.</p><p>"I don't think he's mentioned my name since our fight. So I just have to keep working, making sure I'm worthy at another shot at him, or somebody else who has the belts.</p><p>"I've got to win fights and put on good performances to get my name up there.</p><p>"This is a great platform fighting on Showtime, competing against a big name in Breazeale so I have to go out and produce a big statement to solidify my name at the top. I'm smart, I'll pick him apart, and then stop him."</p><p>The five-bout card that Wallin competes on is broadcast on Showtime in the US and Fite TV in the UK.</p>

Before Wilder's Las Vegas victory at the weekend, Frampton told Business Insider that "the cut will heal."</p><p>He said: "The fight happened middle of September, the cut will definitely heal. People say the cut may reopen but if it reopens in February it probably reopens in July or August, whenever. "Most people think the same."</p><p>Frampton suggests Wilder's tactics may change in the Fury rematch, which, while uncomfirmed, is tentatively scheduled for February 22, 2020, according to Business Insider sources.</p><p>"Wilder's tactics might change, this time. I think Wilder will be more gung-ho. He knows he can hurt Fury because he had him on his backside twice. And he'll really go out and try and knock him out.</p><p>"[Wilder's] surname just fits perfect. He's a wild fighter, throws shots all over the place, nothing about him is textbook. But if he hits you in the end with one of those windmill punches, it's lights out."</p><p>Frampton is undecided who will win <span style="color: #ff0000;"><span style="color: #000000;">t</span></span><span style="color: #000000;">he</span> rematch. "One of two things will happen, [Wilder] may knock him out or he'll be outboxed even more convincingly. "Stitch is the best at what he does. So, yeah … we're not cutting any corners, that's for sure."</p><p>Though Fury's promoter in the US, Bob Arum, the founder and CEO of Top Rank, told Business Insider this week that he "does not have any concerns about the cut," the British heavyweight's UK promoter, Frank Warren, is not as confident.</p><p>Warren told Business Insider recently that he "of course has concerns." He said: "They're big guys and one punch can change everything - the whole fight. I have a lot of concerns. It's just about him being focused."</p><h2>3 tactics for Team Fury</h2><p>The highly-regarded England-based UFC and Bellator cutman Jason Fielding told Business Insider that a calm corner will be key come Saturday, and is confident Duran will help provide that.</p><p>Fielding said the more panicked a trainer or a fighter is about a cut, the less work the cutman is able to perform. "Panic creates more panic, especially for the fighter," he said.</p><p>On recruiting Duran specifically to help treat any injuries which occur this weekend, Fielding said: "[Fury will be] wondering why he didn't have Stitch Duran in his corner earlier in his career.</p><p>"He worked in the UFC for however many years, marketed himself perfectly, and used UFC's platform to bring out his own brand of tape, eye irons, and it elevated him."</p><p>One tactic the Fury team can apply is constant greasing of the previously affected area, Fielding said. "If I was Stitch, obviously I'd be aware of the cut that he had, and you would take a precaution by putting extra grease on it. "Use the iron - the enswell - possibly between every round, to keep the face cool around the eyes, round the eyelid, and keep on top of that from round one. Sit the enswell on a bucket of ice to keep it cool."</p><p>Thirdly, and perhaps the most important, is down to Fury himself rather than the seconds in his corner as the challenger would need to keep his right glove up to protect that side of his face, providing a cushion to any incoming Wilder power shots.</p><p>"Tyson Fury needs to be mindful of it himself," Fielding told us. I fancied the fight and fancied him to beat him.</p><p>"But he had to lose nearly 11 stone [<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tyson-fury-drove-a-ferrari-at-190mph-because-he-wanted-to-crush-it-like-a-coke-can-2018-10?r=US&amp;IR=T" target="_blank" rel="noopener">since returning to boxing after a battle against depression</a>]. He wasn't training to fight, he was training to lose weight. But now he's training to fight."</p><p>Warren is confident of success in the rematch, and anticipates a trilogy bout. "I believe Tyson beats Wilder. Who knows, there might be another fight there."</p><h2>Wilder vs. Fury 2 could generate 2 million pay-per-view buys</h2><p>Sources involved with the rematch negotiations had oft confirmed a rematch deal to Business Insider in the last few months, and on Wednesday the senior boxing writer <a href="https://www.espn.co.uk/boxing/story/_/id/28171733/deontay-wilder-tyson-fury-rematch-officially-set-feb-22" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dan Rafael confirmed a February 22 fight on ESPN</a>.</p><p>The only hold-up to a formal announcement for the heavyweight do-over is that dealmakers are yet to agree on a suitable site, according to ESPN, even though the MGM Grand in Las Vegas is an apparent front-runner to host.</p><p>The event would be a joint pay-per-view between Fury's broadcaster ESPN and Fox, which is the network Wilder fights on.</p><p>Fury has fought twice on ESPN this year, against opponents who were considered easy, or straight-forward, opponents before the contests took place.</p><p>Fury <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tyson-fury-stops-tom-schwarz-in-second-round-result-2019-6?r=US&amp;IR=T" target="_blank" rel="noopener">knocked out Tom Schwarz in the second round</a> before overcoming <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tyson-fury-hospitalized-after-otto-wallin-win-fight-result-2019-9?r=US&amp;IR=T" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a bloody cut that needed 47 stitches to outpoint Otto Wallin</a> on the scorecards.</p><p>It begged the question why an opponent ranked in the top 10 was not considered for these fights, ahead of the big Wilder rematch.</p><p>Warren said this was all planned to allow ESPN to build Fury's name and brand value in the US. The first Wilder bout generated <a href="https://www.espn.co.uk/boxing/story/_/id/25519401/deontay-wilder-tyson-fury-fight-generates-325000-pay-per-view-buys" target="_blank" rel="noopener">325,000 pay-per-view</a> sales in the US, but with the recent exposure Fury has had, Warren anticipates a 515% increase of PPV buys for the second fight next year.</p><p>"The deal with Tyson was to get on a big platform," Warren said. "The biggest platform in the States that made sense for us was ESPN+.</p><p>"There's 3 million subscribers, it's a big platform, and a couple fights make his profile higher. I had that massive feeling when I was sitting there, signing it, that he's going to do the business."</p><p><strong>So how do you develop an amateur boxer into a professional sensation?</strong></p><p>"It's so important with boxers to learn their craft," Warren said. And they do that by learning on the job. Warren's team includes a matchmaker whose job it is to select the right opponent at the right time to ensure that a fighter's progression is gradual, from regional level to national and then the world.</p><p>"It's all about timing and hitting it right," Warren said. "Picking your opponents and picking the time to make the right fight for the fighters. I don't think we're too bad at that. Our track record has been very good. We've delivered on guys who weren't Olympians, like Calzaghe, Ricky Hatton, and Naseem Hamed. It's very important that we pick the right moments. It's about a career, a marathon career."</p><h2>Boxers have longer careers than UFC fighters, Warren says</h2><p>Warren told us that the way promoters develop novice pro boxers into accomplished and decorated athletes differs wildly to athletes who compete in other combat sports, like mixed martial arts.</p><p>"They're two different disciplines, or sports, whatever you want to call them," he said. "With MMA, or using the UFC as the example, that is a brand in itself.</p><p>"You can sell tickets to the UFC. You can't just sell tickets to boxing, it has to be because of a fighter. Who's fighting, and what's the name?</p><p>"Some people might just go to UFC because it's a UFC event, and they've done a fantastic job of building their brand in a short space of time and developing it over the years.</p><p>"Boxers have got different personalities, different styles. Some are really exciting knockout merchants, or they could be a boxer, and you have to build on what their personality and style is, then build that model as far as the public perception is. For example, Daniel is a silent but deadly type of guy. Or you can have Tyson Fury who is an absolute extrovert. "You've got to be able to fight," Warren said. "If you can't fight, you've had it. Again, with the UFC … they fight each other fairly quickly. I don't believe they have really long careers. In boxing, it's about the art of self-defense and it's about learning your trade and building yourself up to challenge and win a world title."</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table no-rightrail"><div><div class="image"></div></div></div></p><p>The traditional route for young and promising British boxers is to win a British title and then a Commonwealth belt before campaigning for a European strap. Once those honors have been won, it would not be long before that boxer got a shot at the world title.</p><p>For Dubois to go down this route, the belts - or the champions of those belts - need to be available. So far, they have been. He won the British title against Gorman and will hope to win the Commonwealth against Tetteh on Friday.</p><p>As well as negotiating a fight for Dubois against Joyce, probably for a defense of his British and Commonwealth titles, Warren is also working on a shot at the European belt which is currently owned by the German fighter Agit Kabayel.</p><p>"Whether we can get European or not, I don't know, we're working on it. But there's been no British heavyweight who has won all the belts. No one's won the British, Commonwealth, European and the world heavyweight title," Warren said. "No one's done it. And it would be a nice achievement for Daniel if we can do it for him."</p><h2>Now Warren wants to make Dubois a transcendant TV attraction</h2><p>Warren told us his next task is to make Dubois as well known in Britain and abroad as Anthony Joshua is. "The newspapers are picking up on him. We're bringing him more to the attention of the British public. There's features on him, a TV crew following him around, and a documentary will be out in the next six months."</p><p>Warren said: "This gives him the exposure he requires, and builds his profile. Boxing writers all know about him now."</p><p>Once that is achieved, the only thing he will need for Dubois to have truly hit the big time and be a name as well known as Joshua and Wilder in boxing, as known as Roger Federer in tennis, or Lionel Messi in world soccer, is to compete in a fight with crossover appeal.</p><p>Warren knows this. He wants this. He wants Dubois to fight and win against an opponent with a big name.</p><p><strong>Could that name be Joshua?</strong></p><p>"I got to tell you, I was a massive fan and I wanted to sign him," Warren told us. However, Warren said Sky Sports got involved and because of the broadcaster's relationship with Matchroom Sports, Joshua signed terms with the company's group managing director Eddie Hearn, turning professional in 2013.</p><p>"He's a young man and has got the tools," Warren said. "But I don't think his defense has been worked on hard enough. He was wobbled against Dillian Whyte, Klitschko knocked him down even though it took balls getting up, and against Parker he was apprehensive. You know he can get caught."</p><p>Joshua lost his heavyweight titles to Andy Ruiz Jr. in one of the upsets of the year and Warren said he never looked comfortable in that fight, and that if he were looking after the Briton, he'd never have booked the rematch to take place in Saudi Arabia on December 7.</p><p>"I'd have wanted the rematch at a stadium in the UK," Warren said. "At Cardiff, fill it up, and have every advantage. One thing about Ruiz … he knows he's taken Joshua's best shot, and he knows he has the tools and hand speed to give Joshua problems." He could cause further problems later in the year, stalling Joshua's route back to the top of the heavyweight world rankings.</p><p><strong>What about Wilder?</strong></p><p>"I would love to have had Wilder and think I'd have done a good job promoting him and bringing him through! He's got personality," Warren said. "And the fight with Tyson has brought him on a bit [in terms of popularity]."</p><p>Warren copromotes Fury and now Fury has beaten Tom Schwarz and Otto Wallin, a February rematch with Wilder is expected to take place in Las Vegas in February, 2020, should Wilder overcome Luis Ortiz in their rematch on November 23.</p><p>"The Wilder and Fury rematch is a big fight in the States," Warren said.</p><h2>The cusp of another golden heavyweight era</h2><p>With so many major players in the heavyweight division, from Fury, Wilder, Joshua, and Ruiz, through to the unbeaten Oleksandr Usyk, it appears like boxing is on the cusp of another golden heavyweight era. Moreso when you include Warren's big prospect Dubois in the equation.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table no-rightrail"><div><div class="image"></div></div></div></p><p>The 1970s featured many elite heavyweights like Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, and Joe Frazier all vying for supremacy, while Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, and Lennox Lewis treated fight fans to another strong era in the 1990s.</p><p>Might we see a new golden era emerge in 2020 and beyond? "We made the fight with Wilder and Tyson," Warren said, adding that all the representatives of the aforementioned heavyweights need to work together to get the big fights made, before a new golden era can truly begin.</p><p>Warren says that Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn failed to land the Wilder fight. "Hearn was talking about Wilder fighting Joshua for ages, but they never made a move," he said. "We made our move and made the deal, and they'll fight again [in 2020]. It's a done deal."</p><p>Warren said if Joshua manages to beat Ruiz and Fury beats Wilder, then a superfight for the ages could be created - an all-British affair that would be as big for the country as England winning the World Cup in 1966.</p><p>"I think Anthony Joshua versus Tyson Fury would be the biggest crossover sporting event since England won the World Cup, bigger than the Ashes," Warren said.</p><p>And when it comes to these crossover sporting events, Warren wants his prospect firmly in the mix. "Dubois is the stand-out."</p><p>Warren said Ruiz and Joshua, and Fury and Wilder, could all be tied up with each other for rematches and trilogy bouts in the next year. "It is our job to bring our guy through to be next in line," he said.</p><p>"I want Dubois to be fighting for a world title in 18 months."</p><p>And considering Warren's confidence in his fighter, it will be a world title he expects Dubois to win.</p>

They typically do all they can to avoid taking a terrible amount of punishment, and are not known for their concussive punching.</p><p>Instead, they are technically adept and defensively brilliant. Often, the first lessons involve learning how to avoid getting hit.</p><p>"In the travelling community he had to defend himself," Saunders Sr. told Business Insider. "That's why I took him boxing, to stick up for himself and stop him being bullied. All traveller boys go through that. Then, when it comes to them stepping into the ring, there's no fear of having a fight."</p><h2>English travellers have a specific and distinctive boxing style</h2><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image"></div></div></div><p>Renowned boxing trainer Alan Smith, who runs the iBox Gym in south east London, told Business Insider he has taught many traveller boys through the years and believes they all fight in a similar way.</p><p>"Do you know what … I've been in amateur and professional boxing for 35 years, and I've seen all types of fighting style," Smith said. "But travellers pretty much box the same. They're defensive, leaning on the back foot, and I think it's just because they all spar with each other. So one style rubs off on the other one.</p><p>"I've trained quite a few travelling boys," Smith said. "People you admire often inspire you and so when they stay together in their own community on their sites, trailers, mucking around, they end up carbon copies of the people they're sparring."</p><p>One of Smith's current pupils is <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/archie-sharp-and-dennis-mccann-results-02-arena-boxing-2019-7?r=US&amp;IR=T" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dennis McCann, a three-fight bantamweight novice who blew Business Insider away with a polished performance</a> when we were ringside for a Frank Warren show at London's O2 Arena earlier in the summer.</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image"></div></div></div><p>McCann, a traveller, is a babyfaced assassin who throws punches in bunches from awkward angles until he secures a TV-friendly, highlight-reel knockout.</p><p>"He's a mini superstar," Smith said of his protégé. "He's got a bit of everything. He's marketable, brash, brave, can punch a little bit. As a whole, he's very near the complete package.</p><p>"He's got cockiness, he loves the crowd, and the camera loves him. He's an incredible worker. He's the first in the gym and the last out. I have to turn off the light, kick him out the gym, and remind him I've got a home to go to!</p><p>"As a trainer and boxer we have a certain bond, and he can go to the top. By beating Klitschko four years ago, he won four championship belts. The self-styled "Gypsy King" ruled the boxing world.</p><p>But after reaching that seemingly insurmountable high, a crashing low followed. <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tyson-fury-drove-a-ferrari-at-190mph-because-he-wanted-to-crush-it-like-a-coke-can-2018-10?r=US&amp;IR=T" target="_blank" rel="noopener">He abused substances, became obese, and said on the Joe Rogan Experience that he wanted to kill himself</a>. He said he once drove his convertible Ferrarri 190 miles per hour and planned to crash into a bridge so he could crush the car "like a Coke can."</p><p>Thoughts of his family prevented him from doing so. He began to turn his life around, lost 140 pounds, and returned to boxing in 2018.</p><p>After two fights, he challenged knockout puncher Deontay Wilder in a dramatic 12-round battle, outboxing the American through large stretches of the bout. "But there's quite a lot of young lads coming through, and now they can see it can be done. We've shone a light so other people can follow. If I can do it, anybody can do it.</p><p>"But it's not just travellers, it can be non-travellers … whoever," he said. "From whatever background you come from, or whatever walk of life you're from, boxing is an outlet where you can achieve massive things if you're good enough. Let's live the life a bit more.' And I think that's the reason they're doing it now," Saunders said. "If we can make another one or two world champions from our culture, then we'll be very proud of ourselves."</p><p>Tommy Saunders said if it weren't for boxing, young traveller boys would have to get jobs from a young age selling scrap metal to earn a living. "That's the culture," he said.</p><p>"But now Billy Joe and Tyson are heroes. Boys coming through now stick with boxing, you know? They're not walking away at a certain age.</p><p>"A lot of traveller boys are now trying to do the same and hopefully there'll be a lot of world champion traveller boys at different weights. This country is going to see even more and hopefully even better fighters than Billy Joe and Tyson, and that's a positive thing for British boxing."</p><h2>English travellers have attracted the attention of Britain's media</h2><p>Neither Fury or Saunders have been far from controversy throughout their careers.</p><p>In the past, Fury suggested he'd "hang" his sister if he thought she was promiscuous, said two boxing rivals Tony Bellew and David Price were "gay lovers," and once went on an anti-Semitic rant, <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2015/dec/07/tyson-fury-outrage-homosexuality-women-religion-divisive-sporting-star" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to The Guardian</a> and <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/boxing/2016/05/17/tyson-fury-apologises-after-latest-homophobic-sexist-and-anti-se/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Telegraph</a>.</p><p>He has since distanced himself from these remarks, <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/boxing/2016/05/17/tyson-fury-apologises-after-latest-homophobic-sexist-and-anti-se/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">apologizing</a> for any offence caused.</p><p>Saunders has also attracted the ire of the press.</p><p>He previously <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/deontay-wilder-chases-billy-joe-saunders-2018?r=US&amp;IR=T" target="_blank" rel="noopener">threw chicken at the heavyweight boxer Wilder at a restaurant</a>, <a href="https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/general/boxing/billy-joe-saunders-video-watch-twitter-drugs-woman-attack-stranger-sex-act-footage-a8542586.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">paid a drug addict to slap a stranger</a>, and posed as his <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/billy-joe-saunders-young-son-attacked-boxing-opponent-willie-monroe-2017-9?r=US&amp;IR=T" target="_blank" rel="noopener">7-year-old son punched an opponent in the groin</a> at a weigh-in.</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image"></div></div></div><p>"There's bad press but I've grown up around them, trained a lot of them through my life, and they're the easiest people to get along with," the boxing coach Smith said. "I feel comfortable in their company.</p><p>"Most young traveller boys go to the gym, leave the gym at 15 or 16 as they get married very young, and have to go to work."</p><p>Smith said that before Fury and Saunders there was the Irish fighter Andy Lee, the first athlete from the traveller community to win a world title in boxing when he won the middleweight belt in 2014.</p><p>"Lee changed the way for traveller boxers," Smith said. "He proved you can get to world level and carried himself fantastic. He did a lot for the traveller community, and you see an influx of traveller boxers come through now."</p><h2>Travellers dominate boxing because they don't travel anymore</h2><p>The boxing promoter Frank Warren, who represents Fury and used to promote Saunders, told Business Insider the key reason why fighters like Lee, Fury, and Saunders won world titles, and why there are more prospect traveller boys coming through, is because English travellers don't actually travel anymore.</p><p>English travellers now settle on sites, and learn to box at local boxing clubs where they are then taken to amateur tournaments up and down the country to fine-tune their craft in a competitive environment.</p><p>"What happened with travellers is they were travelling so they weren't going to one boxing club, but Billy Joe for example … he was from Hatfield. He was trained locally.</p><p>"Years ago, they'd be up and down the country doing whatever they're doing and not taking it so seriously. Travellers are more settled down in their areas and you get more kids going to clubs and coming through."</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image"></div></div></div><p>Warren said it's all about discipline. "I go back to the days of Johnny Frankham, fighters like him. Tony Collins. Great fighters. But they all lacked discipline. No discipline. Johnny Frankham used to go running in the morning with a cigarette in his mouth!</p><p>"You can have talent but you've also got to have discipline and put the hard work in. Travellers, now, have got discipline nailed down."</p><p>Fury and Saunders still have a number of years left to compete at the top level and McCann, if he lives up to Smith's expectations, could well join them. But McCann could be one of many.</p><p>So while English travellers fight nothing like Pitt&#xa0;in "Snatch," they are still striking a knockout blow for their community, their culture, and for British boxing in general.</p><p>Warren told us he is still signing English traveller fighters to his promotional company, and Smith said a trend has been set and he expects to see even more traveller boys perform at the highest level.</p><p>"Britain is just so lucky at the moment as boxing is thriving," Smith said. "It's a healthy sport, it's well-paid, and well shown by a few channels like BT Sport.</p><p>"It's an interesting time for the traveller community and people from other backgrounds, from every walk of life, and every nationality.
