Disney also acknowledged that this change would lead to layoffs but declined to say how many people will be impacted. The company joins hundreds of other <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/stores-closing-in-2021-list-2021-3">closures announced for 2021.</a></p><p>At least 38 of the closures are planned by March 23, according to <a href="https://www.shopdisney.com/store-locator-and-special-events">Disney's store locator.</a></p><p>"The global pandemic has <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/disney-to-close-at-least-60-north-american-stores-to-focus-online-1030149564">changed what consumers expect from a retailer</a>.
