In both cases OnePlus said that the explosion was due to external factors and not because of manufacturing defects. A new incident has now been reported and this time it’s the Warp charger of the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/tech/mobile/news/oneplus-nord-2-mobile-phone-review/articleshow/85040249.cms">OnePlus Nord 2</a>.<br /><br />The owner, Jimmy Jose shared the incident on Twitter detailing exactly what happened along with photos. According to Jose, the <keyword id="12182205" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="oneplus-nord-2-charger" source="Orion">OnePlus Nord 2 charger</keyword> was plugged into the socket when he heard a loud sound and saw that it blew up the socket. Images of the blast show the charger damaged but Jose confirmed that the adapter is still intact and that it worked fine even after the blast. He was also assured a replacement for the damaged product. He added that a OnePlus representative called him and asked him about and also emphasised that this was caused due to a “voltage fluctuation issue.” <br /><br />The tweet has received much attention as expected with over 2,000 likes, 467 retweets and 121 quote tweets. OnePlus sent him a ‘cease and desist’ notice stating that he has been posting false information to harm the company’s reputation and that the explosion was due to external factors. It also asks him to remove all tweets and any other information shared by him on social media. OnePlus blames voltage fluctuation after a user reports Nord 2 charger explosion

Chinese smartphone manufacturer <keyword id="2210217" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="oneplus">OnePlus</keyword> is set to launch 'OnePlus 8' series of smartphones on April 14 and has confirmed that one of the variant will support the Warp Charge 30 Wireless feature.<br /><br />The new Warp Charge 30 Wireless Charger claims to be charge the device from 1 per cent to 50 per cent in flat 30 minutes, with an efficiency of 97 per cent by minimizing the amount of energy converted into heat, said the company.<br /><br />The charger uses isolated charge pumps that can double as a kill switch when something goes wrong, thereby providing fast and stable charging.<br /><br />In addition, the charger can communicate with the smartphone during the charging process to provide maximum efficiency.<br /><br />The company has said that its wireless charging technology will be compatible with all Qi wireless chargers at 5W and at 10W for phones that support the faster (extended power profile) EPP standard.<br /><br />It is not immediately clear if OnePlus will bundle the new Warp Charge 30 Wireless charger with the OnePlus 8 Pro at no extra cost or sell separately.<br /><br />The OnePlus 8 Pro is also expected to support 30W fast wired charging.<br /><br />Recently, a OnePlus 8 Pro prototype was spotted in the wild hinting at dual punch-hole display and a curved display like the OnePlus 7 Pro.<br /><br />The back panel of the device shows off the quad-camera setup with three lenses along with an LED flash arranged in a vertical strip and a fourth camera placed alongside it.<br /><br />The quad-camera setup is expected to include an ultra-wide angle shooter, a telephoto camera that will likely support 3x optical zoom, and a primary camera of an unknown resolution.

Started with 65W Warp Charge the latest Endurance edition is going to take a massive leap and hit a staggering 150W SUPERVOOC charging speed, that can top up the 4500mAh battery from 0-70% in just 10 minutes, and the remaining in another 7 minutes. <br /><br />OnePlus said it best. Fret not, because there are technologies in place to restrict battery degradation to 80% of its original capacity after 1600 charging cycles. Known as the Battery Health Engine, it includes two key technologies to help preserve and extend the lifespan of the battery — The Smart Battery Health Algorithm and Battery Healing Technology. <br /><br />The former tracks and controls the maximum charging current and ensures it stays within a safe operating range and prevents dead lithium cells. According to Sharma’s tweet and images shared, the OnePlus Nord 2 suffered a serious blast while inside the pocket of “a boy”. The phone looks completely damaged and burnt on the right side. The images also indicate that the phone was kept inside the pocket of the user’s jeans which also suffered some damages. We can also see one image of the user whose thigh is burnt due to the blast. OnePlus Nord 2 smartphone caught in another blast allegation

After launching its first mid-range premium smartphone Nord that became a thumping success, <keyword id="2210217" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="oneplus">OnePlus</keyword> is now planning to unveil another device with Snapdragon 662 or 665 chip for a price tag between Rs 16,000-Rs 18,000.<br /><br />While OPPO is expected to launch a phone with Snapdragon 662 chipset early September under Rs 20,000, OnePlus will follow suit at the end of September with its own phone in similar range and specifications, reports GizmoChina.<br /><br />The Snapdragon 662 is an octa-core chipset that sits barely below the Snapdragon 665 processor.<br /><br />OnePlus has also received certification for an 18W charger. The upcoming phone may come bundled with the new charger.<br /><br />The OnePlus Nord starts at Rs 24,999 for 6GB of RAM and 64GB storage.<br /><br />It is priced at Rs 27,999 for 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and goes up till Rs 29,999 for the high-end 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage variant.<br /><br />Meanwhile, the company is planning to launch OnePlus 8T and 8T Pro with a 64MP camera at the rear.<br /><br />Since the OnePlus 8 series and OnePlus Nord support a 48MP main camera, it is likely that the upcoming OnePlus 8T series is the one that will get upgraded to 64MP.<br /><br />The OnePlus 8T could be expected to get an enhanced 65W Super Warp charge, along with a 1002W fast charging tech.

It starts at a price of ₹24,999, something which should excite OnePlus fans and those who want a reliable, fast experience without worrying about the compromises.<br /><br />The phone will be available for purchase starting on August 4 from Amazon.in, OnePlus online and offline stores across the country.<br /><br /><strong>OnePlus Nord design – simple elegance<br /></strong><br />OnePlus is known for keeping its designs simple for the most part. The only standout candidate is the OnePlus 7T with its massive circular camera module. Other OnePlus smartphones have been conservative when it comes to the designs, and that remains the case with the OnePlus Nord as well.<br /><br />It’s quite simple with the OnePlus Nord – the front is covered by the display, save for the hole punch notch on the top left that houses the two front cameras.<br /><br /><div type="image" title="OnePlus Nord" msid="77119843" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;OnePlus Nord in blue marble colour&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div><br />On the back, there’s a vertical camera module with four cameras. The rest remains free of distractions, except for the OnePlus logos in the middle and the bottom. There’s nothing funky going on, which makes the phone look elegant.<br /><br />The most striking factor, though, is the colour of the phone – we got the blue marble colour.<br /><br />It’s a great change from the regular blackish/greyish colour schemes, for sure. It comes across as unique while still retaining the classy look.<br /><br /><strong>OnePlus Nord – six cameras, big battery and a high refresh rate display<br /></strong><br /><div type="image" title="OnePlus Nord" msid="77119855" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;OnePlus Nord has four cameras on the back&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div><br />The OnePlus Nord sports six cameras in total – four on the back and two on the front. This gives the Nord enough firepower on paper to fend off its competitors. Whether it lives up to the hype remains to be seen.<br /><br />The Nord also sports an AMOLED display, and has a notch on the top left. It also supports 90Hz refresh rate, which translates to a smooth experience.<br /><br />In the first two days of testing, I found the scrolling to be smooth, with no noticeable jank.<br /><br />The OnePlus Nord also sports a big battery, with a 4,115mAh capacity. However, two days is too soon to say how long the phone lasts. Again, this depends on your usage, so your mileage may vary.<br /><br />The phone also comes with a 30W warp charger that promises to charge the OnePlus 8 Pro from 1-50% in 23 minutes. It supports wireless charging as well.<br /><br /><strong>Wrapping up – should you buy the OnePlus 8 Pro?<br /></strong><br />The OnePlus 8 Pro ticks almost all the boxes if you’re looking for a high-end smartphone. It has a great display, an almost-perfect design, smooth performance and really good cameras. That's to say that the OnePlus 8 looks and feels every bit as premium as the <keyword id="8232532" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="OnePlus-8-pro">OnePlus 8 Pro</keyword> and other even more expensive phones, like the <a href="https://www.anrdoezrs.net/links/6415797/type/dlg/sid/biip_051420_oneplus-8-review/https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-s20-5g/buy/?link=galaxy-s20-5g" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener sponsored nofollow sponsored">Galaxy S20 series</a>. </p><p>The screen, however, is where some might perceive some compromises. It "only" has a 1080p resolution, and its refresh rate "only" goes up to 90Hz when the OnePlus 8 Pro has a technically sharper 1440p screen and a smoother 120Hz refresh rate. Turns out it doesn't matter — I barely noticed any difference at all between the two screens during actual day-to-day usage. The OnePlus 8's 1080p AMOLED screen looks every bit as sharp, even with its larger 6.55-inch display. And, 90Hz is still very smooth and nothing to complain about. </p><p><a href="https://www.awin1.com/cread.php?awinmid=10855&amp;awinaffid=257137&amp;clickref=biip_051420_oneplus-8-review&amp;p=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.oneplus.com%2Foneplus-8%3Ffrom%3D88%3Ffrom%3D8" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener sponsored"><div type="image" title="oneplus 8 front" height="1020" width="1360" msid="75763543" hostid="261"></div></a></p><h2><strong>Performance and battery life</strong></h2><p>The OnePlus 8 runs as well as the OnePlus 8 Pro and the <keyword id="8490723" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Galaxy-S20">Galaxy S20</keyword> phones thanks to running on largely similar specs, including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 mobile chip. </p><p>One spec where the OnePlus 8 differs from other top Android phones is its LPDDR4x RAM versus the faster and more power-efficient LPDDR5 standard in more expensive phones. Again, despite technically lesser RAM, the OnePlus 8 wasn't any slower in running apps and the Android operating system. </p><p>Want numerical proof? The OnePlus 8 scored a 907 in single-core performance and 3,254 multi-core score in a standard Geekbench 5 benchmark. The OnePlus 8 Pro scored a 894 for a single-core score, and 3,322 for a multi-core score. </p><p>The OnePlus 8 is a large phone, so it comes with a large battery, and it has great battery life. That's to be expected, especially when good battery life is the norm across the board in high-end Android flagships at the moment. That's to say other top Android phones in 2020 will give you similar battery life, too. </p><p>To charge its large 4,300mAh battery, the OnePlus 8 comes with the incredibly fast Warp Charge 30T charger. At 30W, it makes quick work of charging the phone, taking just about an hour from 15% to 100%, which is quicker than the included chargers on other phones. </p><p>Unfortunately, the OnePlus 8 doesn't support wireless charging, like the more expensive OnePlus 8 Pro and every other high-end smartphone.</p><h2>Cameras</h2><p>Here's another hidden spec that's buried in a OnePlus 8 tech sheet. The OnePlus 8 has technically "lesser" array of Sony camera sensors that the OnePlus 8 Pro. </p><p>Specifically, the OnePlus 8 has a Sony IMX586 camera sensor, and the OnePlus 8 Pro has a higher-end Sony IMX689. The differences between the two are unclear, but the OnePlus 8 still takes great photos that the grand majority of us will be happy with, regardless.</p><p><a href="https://www.awin1.com/cread.php?awinmid=10855&amp;awinaffid=257137&amp;clickref=biip_051420_oneplus-8-review&amp;p=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.oneplus.com%2Foneplus-8%3Ffrom%3D88%3Ffrom%3D8" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener sponsored"><div type="image" title="oneplus 8 cameras" height="1037" width="1383" msid="75763545" hostid="261"></div></a></p><p>The OnePlus 8 has the same the same camera drawbacks as the OnePlus 8 Pro. Macro lenses aren't better or worse to have— just different. It can act like a zoomed lens, but at only 2 megapixels. It's a baffling feature.</p><h2>Other things the OnePlus 8 gets right</h2><p>Like the OnePlus 8 Pro, the standard OnePlus 8 gets the fingerprint sensor and facial recognition completely right. They're fast, accurate, and makes unlocking the phone significantly faster than it is on the Galaxy S20 phones, which have comparatively poor fingerprint sensors. </p><p>It's also a 5G phone that isn't outrageously expensive. Indeed, 5G technology has driven smartphone prices sky high in 2020, and the OnePlus 8 defies that trend. With that said, there's a pretty big drawback with the OnePlus 8's 5G connectivity, which we'll get to below.</p><h2>Drawbacks</h2><p>There are some clear drawbacks with the OnePlus 8 — it has technically lesser RAM, technically lesser camera sensors, an odd 2-megapixel macro camera, and no wireless charging. But none of these drawbacks made me feel like the OnePlus 8 was inferior compared to the the OnePlus 8 Pro or Galaxy S20 Plus, especially not for its lower price. </p><p>The real drawback with the OnePlus 8 is its marquis feature: 5G. It's a frankly awful and confusing patchwork that will only alienate smartphone users away from 5G: Only Verizon users who buy the OnePlus 8 <em>from</em> Verizon will have access to a full-scale 5G network <em>on Verizon</em>. The OnePlus 8 doesn't support T-Mobile's full 5G network, only the slower ones. And, the OnePlus 8 doesn't support AT&amp;T's 5G network at all.</p><p><a href="https://www.awin1.com/cread.php?awinmid=10855&amp;awinaffid=257137&amp;clickref=biip_051420_oneplus-8-review&amp;p=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.oneplus.com%2Foneplus-8%3Ffrom%3D88%3Ffrom%3D8" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener sponsored"><div type="image" title="oneplus 8 back" height="926" width="1234" msid="75763556" hostid="261"></div></a></p><p>More to the point, unless you live in your carrier's super fast mmWave 5G coverage area, you're unlikely to run into mmWave 5G networks very often. 5G coverage is set to expand over time, but how much time is uncertain — it could be later in 2020, could be 2021, could be later than that, before 5G becomes widely available. That's why buying a top Android phone in 2020, when 5G and its high cost is basically being forced upon you despite its lacking coverage. </p><p>Basically, 5G should play no part in your decision when buying a smartphone, whether it's the OnePlus 8 or otherwise.</p><h2>The bottom line</h2><p>If you're deciding between the OnePlus 8 and the <a href="https://www.awin1.com/cread.php?awinmid=10855&amp;awinaffid=257137&amp;clickref=biip_051420_oneplus-8-review&amp;p=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.oneplus.com%2Foneplus-8-pro%3Ffrom%3D8proFfrom%3D8pro" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener sponsored">OnePlus 8 Pro</a>, you should ask yourself whether you want wireless charging or not. That's the main feature you're really going to notice by spending $200 extra on the Pro, not the technically sharper or smoother screen, the newer RAM, or the technically better cameras. Also consider that the OnePlus wireless charger is a $70 separate accessory. </p><ul><li><strong>Should you buy it?</strong> If you're looking for the most affordable Android smartphone that runs on the latest Snapdragon 865 mobile chip, the <a href="https://www.awin1.com/cread.php?awinmid=10855&amp;awinaffid=257137&amp;clickref=biip_051420_oneplus-8-review&amp;p=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.oneplus.com%2Foneplus-8%3Ffrom%3D88%3Ffrom%3D8">OnePlus 8</a> should be at the top of your short list. The OnePlus 8 is the cheapest smartphone you can buy (in the US, at least) that runs on the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 mobile chip.</li><li><strong>What are your alternatives?</strong> The next cheapest phone that runs the high-end Snapdragon 865 costs $900, and it's the OnePlus 8 Pro. Beyond that, you're going into <a href="https://www.anrdoezrs.net/links/6415797/type/dlg/sid/biip_051420_oneplus-8-review/https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-s20-5g/buy/?link=galaxy-s20-5g" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener sponsored">Samsung Galaxy S20</a> territory, where the <a href="https://www.anrdoezrs.net/links/6415797/type/dlg/sid/biip_051420_oneplus-8-review/https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-s20-5g/buy/?link=galaxy-s20-5g">Galaxy S20 Plus</a> with a similarly sized screen costs $,1200. It's absurdly fast and it decimates competing fast-chargers. It's even faster than OnePlus' own standard Dash Charge, which was already the fastest charging brick available for any smartphone. </p><p>Apart from the RAM, some design touches, and Warp Charge, the McLaren Edition is pretty much identical to the regular OnePlus 6T models. </p><h2>Should you feel like you're missing out if you recently bought a OnePlus 6 or OnePlus 6T?</h2><p>No, you shouldn't feel like you're missing out. </p><p>To be honest, I didn't sense much of a performance upgrade with the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition and its 10GB of RAM over the model with 8GB of RAM. It's possible that that the standard 6GB model might seem a little slower, but OnePlus phones are already some of the fastest Android smartphones you can buy.</p><p>If you bought either the OnePlus 6 or OnePlus 6T, you still have one of the best Android smartphones you can buy, and you paid hundreds of dollars less than you would have with some of the big-name phones.</p><p>In a way, the McLaren Edition actually highlights just how good the regular OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T are.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Antonio VIllas-Boas/Business Insider</span></p><p class="caption">The OnePlus 6T with 8GB of RAM.</p></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>And even if you're looking to upgrade from an older phone, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition wouldn't be my first recommendation.  </p><p>10GB of RAM is overkill for most users, and there's little justification for spending $700 on a smartphone with so much RAM when the $580 OnePlus 6T with 8GB of RAM already exists. In fact, most smartphone users don't even need 8GB of RAM, but the OnePlus 6T with 8GB of RAM is so inexpensive compared to the competition that I'd recommend it to everyone regardless. </p><p>With that said, if you want 256GB of storage, the McLaren Edition might actually be worth a serious look. The only other OnePlus 6T model with 256GB of storage costs $630, and it has 8GB of RAM. For $70 extra, the extra 2GB of RAM and Warp Charging brick make a compelling case.</p><p>The McLaren Edition is a little bit like McLaren cars themselves: uncompromising performance and quality that certainly have a place in the world, but something few people need on a day-to-day basis.
