It comes with an elegant lightweight design, making it a great option for those looking for a gaming laptop that can double up as a work laptop. The laptop does not offer flashiness or RGB lighting plaster. The device is available in two colour options – Ceramic White and Shadow Black. <div type="image" title="Back" msid="108981171" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;HP Omen Transcend 14 back panel&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The HP Omen Transcend 14 Ceramic White variant features an all-white design and comes with a white back with the Omen logo in black. The white-black combination at the lid looks great. The device comes with a smooth powder-coated surface and offers a durable aluminium chassis. The device features smooth rounded curves, giving it a premium feel. Another positive about this device is its compact form factor. It measures 31.3 x 23.3 x 1.79 cm and weighs just 1.63 kg, which is quite good for a gaming laptop. This makes it easy to carry around the laptop with you. The device comes with ample vents to dissipate the heat, at the back and the bottom. <div type="image" title="Key RGB" msid="108981201" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The keyboard with RGB enabled&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The design aspect that shouts gaming laptops is the device’s keyboard. The keyboard comes with RGB lighting, which is highly customizable. The trackpad is good to use and is sized decently, considering the device’s overall size. I played games like Starfield, Alan Wake 2 and Control on the laptop, with the device offering the best visuals in each game. The display can offer excellent colour accuracy and vibrant visuals. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Performance" comment="subhead" text="Performance">Performance</cmsannotation> The Omen 16 is equipped with the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor coupled with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 graphics. The Intel Core Ultra 7 155H is a new Meteor Lake chipset from the company. The laptop is available in a single variant with 16GB LPDDR5X 7467 MHz RAM and a 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe TLC M.2 SSD. I tested the laptop with several games, including Starfield, The Finals and Alan Wake 2. The laptop was able to handle these games without any issues while playing in medium settings. Coming to the battery, the HP Omen Transcend 14 is equipped with a 71Wh battery. The small battery, in line with the device’s lightweight design, results in an average battery life. Like most gaming laptops, the battery is one of the strongest points of the device. While you can easily browse and consume media while on the go, you may not be able to game for a long time without plugging in. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Verdict" comment="subhead" text="Verdict">Verdict</cmsannotation> The HP Omen Transcend 14 is a great option for those looking for a gaming laptop that does not come with a flashy design and can be used in a professional setup. transparent design language. The device comes in four colour options – Black, Blue, Special Edition and White. I received the Black colour variant of the device, which is also my preferred variant. <div type="image" title="Rear" msid="112111179" hostid="261" sizebytes="74046" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Nothing Phone (2a) rear design&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The Nothing Phone (2a) comes with a redesigned camera module, with the cameras placed horizontally and the LED flash placed above the camera module. The smartphone comes with a transparent plastic back, showcasing some of the interiors of the device. While you may want to use the device without a case to flaunt the design, it is a dust and fingerprint magnet and you may be forced to slap on a case. The company has reduced the number of lights on the Glyph interface to just three for the Nothing Phone (2a) but they look good and add a unique touch to the device. The colours are accurate and you will not face any issues, whether you are gaming, watching movies or just browsing social media. It is equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 to offer protection to the display. <h2>Software and performance</h2>The Nothing Phone (2a) runs on Android 14 out of the box with the company’s Nothing OS 2.5 on top. The device will get three years of Android updates and four years of security updates, which is fine for a mid-range smartphone. If you have used a Nothing phone before, the software remains the same. You get a near-stock Android experience, along with improvements and added customisation options. Nothing is popular for its quirky widgets and that is also the case with the Phone (2a). You get a good collection of widgets with the device and it does not come with any bloatware so you don’t have to worry about having to uninstall a ton of apps. In terms of performance, the Nothing Phone (2a) is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset coupled with up to 12GB LPDDR4X of RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. The Dimensity 7200 Pro offers good performance and battery efficiency. The chipset, which is coupled with ample RAM and storage can handle multitasking efficiently, without any stuttering. I played popular titles such as Asphalt 9 and Call of Duty: Mobile on the device and did not notice any stuttering. If you are a casual gamer, you can get the device without any worries. If you plan on using the device for extended gaming sessions, it does heat a little but is manageable. The Nothing Phone (2a) is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. The device is power efficient and easily offers over a day’s of battery life, with regular usage, streaming and light gaming. <h2>Camera</h2>Coming to the camera department, the Nothing Phone (2a) features a dual camera setup at the back consisting of a 50MP primary camera with OIS and a secondary 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera. <div type="image" title="Rear camera" msid="112111250" hostid="261" sizebytes="33010" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Nothing Phone (2a) rear camera&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The device can capture good photos in daylight conditions, with good colour reproduction and proper saturation. The device can capture a good amount of detail. In low light conditions, the images captured are decent but there is some noise. The colours are good and there is minimal noise. The device can capture good portraits in daylight conditions, with proper edge detection and subject focus. While there is no telephoto camera offered with the phone, you can capture decent shots using the 2x zoom option. On the front, the device features a 32MP selfie camera. The selfie camera works well and is great for capturing selfies and video calls. <h2>Verdict</h2>The Nothing Phone (2a) is a well-designed smartphone that stands apart in the crowd while offering decent features. The device comes with a clean UI, good software support and offers decent performance. The device does have its share of issues such as a back that attracts fingerprints and lack of a charger in the box. Overall, the Nothing Phone (2a) is a good option worth considering in the under ₹30,000 segment. The high refresh rate and colour accuracy make it a great option for those looking to play games or consume content. While it is a decent chipset, the company could have offered a more powerful chipset, in line with other smartphones in the segment. The device offers a good gaming experience, even with Full HD graphics. I tried popular titles such as Battlegrounds Mobile India and Call of Duty: Mobile on the smartphone. The smartphone is powered by a 4,500mAh battery with 125W fast charging support and 50W wireless charging support. At a time when a lot of devices more expensive than the Edge 50 Pro do not offer wireless charging, it is good to see 50W wireless charging on the device. It does miss out on a more powerful chipset and comes with a slightly smaller battery. If you are looking for a smartphone with a good design and a clean user interface, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro is a good option. However, if you are looking for a more powerful smartphone, the Oppo Reno 11 Pro is worth considering, but it misses out on a vegan leather back and does not offer wireless charging. In terms of performance, the Asus ZenBook Duo is easily able to handle multiple applications and processes at once. As it comes with integrated graphics, this might not be the best choice if you are looking for a laptop to game on. However, the Intel Arc Graphics are able to handle some light gaming so you don’t have to worry about getting bored while on the go. The laptop is equipped with a 75Wh battery, which is decent for a sleek laptop. However, you won’t be able to use it for a long duration without plugging it in. This conference is most famous for Steve Jobs introducing Lisa, an upgrade to the Apple II computer promising creative democracy to the users. This was a significant step forward for Mac, and it was the time when Firewire, later a lighting cable, was introduced in the market. The dawn of 2001 brought forth another game-changing revelation: iTunes. This revolutionary software not only revolutionised digital music management and playback but also emerged as a powerful tool in the fight against piracy. With iTunes, Apple not only transformed the way we listen to music but also catapulted the sales of iPods to new heights, ushering in an era of portable music enjoyment like never before. However, the pinnacle of Apple's innovation came in 2007 with the release of its first-ever iPhone in what could be termed a technological renaissance in the consumer markets. And yes, before Apple made separate events for iPhones, the home for the first iPhone was WWDC — a groundbreaking moment that would redefine mobile communication and computing. Just a year later, in 2008, WWDC saw the introduction of the App Store, opening doors to a new era of mobile applications and forever reshaping the digital landscape. It aimed at bridging the gap between phone and computer. This was a surprising move by Apple since Steve Jobs had mentioned multiple times that they would never enter the tablet space. Long before the dawn of artificial intelligence in the consumer market, Apple's intelligent virtual assistant, Siri, was launched in 2011. Coincidentally, 13 years later this year, we are expecting major changes in Siri with the possible integration with Open AI’s ChatGPT or Google’s Gemini. The year 2014 saw the launch of Apple Watch and Apple Pay — a smartwatch focused on health and fitness tracking and a mobile payment system for secure contactless transactions. The Apple Watch can be considered the first major move in creating the walled garden of the Apple ecosystem. While we are still waiting for Apple Pay in India, this tool is used extensively abroad, working efficiently with both iPhone and Apple Watch. In 2015, Apple introduced native apps for the Apple Watch with WatchOS 2, transforming it into a miniature iPhone on the wrist. With the addition of cellular connectivity in 2017, Apple's wearable was liberated from the confines of iPhones. The introduction of fall detection and the ECG app in 2018 underscored Apple's commitment to health and safety features, with them <a href="https://www.youtube.com/shorts/qx_Unk556D0">credited with saving lives</a>. In 2020, Apple introduced the M1 chip, its own processor marking a significant shift in performance and power efficiency for Macs. On the iOS front, the release of iOS 7 in 2013 marked a significant visual overhaul, while the introduction of App Widgets in 2020 fulfilled a long-standing user request, empowering users to personalize their iPhone experience like never before. In 2015, Apple Music made an important pivot to digital streaming. AirPods, introduced in WWDC 2016, became a runaway success. This wireless earbuds innovation started an entirely new market, and today we stand on Airpods 3 and even AirPods Max. Last, but not least, Apple Vision Pro was announced last year at WWDC 2023. This mixed-reality headset is now in the market and the reviews have been polarising, to say the least. However, my experience with it at <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/tech/news/mobile-world-congress-a-quick-recap-of-the-future-of-consumer-tech-as-seen-in-mwc-barcelona/articleshow/108651018.cms">MWC this year </a>was fairly good, it felt comfortable and inclusive. Point to note, it's not available in India yet. Overall, WWDC has been the epicentre of consumer tech innovation, and an event every tech enthusiast looks forward to eagerly.
