The stock made its debut at Rs 111.60, up 3.33 per cent from the issue price on the BSE. Later, it climbed 12.40 per cent to Rs 121.40. At the NSE, it listed at Rs 111.50, up 3.24 per cent. The company's market valuation stood at Rs 1,02,211.38 crore during the morning trade. Shares of NTPC climbed nearly 2 per cent to Rs 368.80 on the BSE. The <keyword id="19913114" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="initial-public-offering" source="keywords">initial public offering</keyword> of NTPC Green Energy Ltd got subscribed 2.40 times on the closing day of the share sale on Friday. The Rs 10,000-crore share sale had a price band of Rs 102-108 per share. Proceeds from the <keyword id="19898327" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="IPO" source="keywords">IPO</keyword>, about Rs 7,500 crore at the upper band, will be used to repay or prepay part or all of its subsidiary NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd's (NREL) outstanding loans, and a portion will be utilised for general corporate purposes. NTPC Green Energy is a 'Maharatna' central public sector enterprise with a renewable energy portfolio, including solar and wind power assets.

The initial share sale will open for public subscription on November 22 and conclude on November 26. The bidding for anchor investors will open for a day on November 21, the company announced. The city-based company's proposed IPO is a combination of a fresh issue of 3.87 crore equity shares and an Offer For Sale (OFS) component of 52.68 lakh shares by promoters. Currently, promoters hold over 93 per cent stake in Enviro Infra Engineers. At the higher end of the price band, the IPO is valued at ₹650 crore, placing the company's market capitalization at approximately ₹2,600 crore. Proceeds from the fresh issue to the tune of ₹181 crore will be used to meet the working capital requirements, ₹100 crore will be used for payment of debt, ₹30 crore will be infused into the company's subsidiary, EIEL Mathura Infra Engineers, to build 60 million litres per day Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at Mathura in Uttar Pradesh. Besides, a portion will be used for general corporate purposes. Half of the issue size has been reserved for qualified institutional buyers, 35 per cent for retail investors and the remaining 15 per cent for non-institutional investors. Enviro Infra Engineers is engaged in designing, construction, operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plants and water supply scheme projects for government authorities/bodies. The treatment process installed by the company at most of the STPs is zero liquid discharge-compliant and the treated water can be used for horticulture, washing, refrigeration, and other process industries. Hem Securities is the sole book-running lead manager of the public issue. The equity shares of the company are expected to be listed on the BSE and NSE on November 29. The North Vietnamese thwarted vastly superior American firepower with strategies backed by massive Soviet and Chinese military aid. They are a playbook for how Ukraine might compel Russia to <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-advisors-peace-plans-ukraine-demilitarized-zone-no-aid-russia-2024-11">make peace</a> within two years, argues Oleksandr Danylyuk, a former top Ukrainian security official and now an analyst for the Royal United Services Institute, a British think tank."The example of the Vietnam War is important primarily because victory for Ukraine is possible only if Russian troops are withdrawn from its territory," Danylyuk said in an <a target="_blank" href="https://rusi.org/explore-our-research/publications/rusi-newsbrief/lessons-vietnam-ukrainian-victory-plan">essay</a> for RUSI. "The creation of conditions under which Russia cannot and is not willing to continue the war, and therefore is forced to leave Ukraine, should be the strategic goal of the pro-Ukrainian coalition."Danylyuk attributes America's failure in Vietnam to a "protracted multi-dimensional strategy by the Soviet Union, on whose help it was completely dependent." The Soviet Union and China supplied Hanoi with ample weapons and other aid, including anti-aircraft weapons to neutralize the US's airpower advantages. The Soviets sent 15,000 military specialists such as air defense experts, while <a target="_blank" href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/politics/1989/05/17/china-admits-combat-in-vietnam-war/6b9cb8a4-4d18-48bf-80d2-bea80f64057c/">China dispatched 320,000 personnel</a> who mostly handled combat support tasks such as logistics, freeing up North Vietnamese manpower for combat duties.Meanwhile, the burden of the war US economy became intolerable, as the Johnson administration refused to raise taxes or cut social programs, leading to deficit spending and inflation. <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/largest-marches-us-history-2017-1">Anti-war protests</a> — some incited and financed by the Communist bloc — and war-weariness among the general public led the Nixon administration to withdraw American troops. By the time North Vietnamese tanks entered Saigon in 1975, the US was reeling from recession and high oil prices, with no more appetite to aid South Vietnam.Danylyuk admits that <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ukraine-facing-powerful-russian-offensive-in-east-grim-outlook-2024-11">Ukraine's situation</a> differs from North Vietnam's in many aspects. "It does not need the presence of allied troops to repel aggression, is not a technologically backward country, and has proven that it cannot only use, but also produce the most modern types of weaponry."Yet, ironically, Danylyuk believes that the keys to defeating Russia's invasion now can be found in the Soviet Union's multi-pronged strategy in Vietnam.<div type="image" title="US Marines wade through a rice paddy in an assault on Viet Cong positions in 1965." height="1383" width="2000" msid="115358659" hostid="261" sizebytes="304174"></div>The first prong of this strategy would be to "stabilize the frontline and to render any successful offensive actions by Russian troops impossible." This would require stopping the Russian <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ukraine-turns-tables-russia-drops-glide-bombs-on-its-territory-2024-8">glide bomb</a> attacks that are devastating Ukrainian frontline positions. Rather than trying to stop the bombs themselves, Danylyuk suggests the West provide more fighters armed with long-range air-to-air missiles — in particular <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/why-ukraine-needs-gripen-fighter-jets-long-term-f-16s-2024-10">Sweden's Gripen jet</a> with Meteor missiles — to shoot down Russian aircraft before they can release glide bombs. His paper notes that the Soviets provided Vietnam 155 MiG fighters in three years alone.Or, if the West is willing to provide "several billion dollars," Ukraine can produce enough long-range <a target="_blank" href="https://newsukraine.rbc.ua/news/romania-and-ukraine-to-develop-neptune-missiles-1722693809.html">Neptune cruise missiles</a> to destroy the Russian airbases and aircraft from which the bombing runs are launched. These weapons would also force Russia to redeploy air defense systems, such as S-300 and <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/russia-s-400-formidable-not-quite-up-to-the-hype-2024-5">S-400</a> anti-aircraft missiles, from Ukraine back to Russia. In addition, Ukraine should also try to kill as many Russian troops as possible to force the Kremlin into another mobilization likely to be deeply unpopular. "Accomplishing this task directly depends on Ukraine's ability to achieve fire parity on the contact line, which requires the West, in turn, to produce a sufficient amount of artillery ammunition," Danylyuk said.In 1965, when major US combat operations in Vietnam began, the majority of the American public <a target="_blank" href="https://www.statista.com/statistics/1334328/vietnam-war-us-public-opinion-mistake/">backed </a>US intervention. But a US commitment that swelled to 543,000 personnel by 1969, along with growing resentment over the draft and 58,000 American personnel killed, eroded that support.On the economic front, Danylyuk urges the West to bankrupt the Russian war effort by seeking to lower the price of oil, which provides much of Russia's revenues. He points to the collapse of the Soviet Union, caused in part by falling oil prices in the 1980s. This would require other nations to boost oil production to depress prices."It must be recognized that attempts to apply restrictions on the price of Russian oil alone have not worked, and without replacing Russia's share of the world market by increasing production elsewhere, the situation will remain favorable for Moscow," said Danylyuk. Indeed, Saudi Arabia and some of its OPEC allies plan to <a target="_blank" href="https://oilprice.com/Energy/Crude-Oil/How-Saudi-Oil-Policies-Could-Cripple-Russias-War-Effort.html">produce more oil</a> and cut prices.Psychologically, the West should tap into Russian <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/russians-resisting-crackdown-war-dissidents-paying-2024-3">anti-war sentiment</a> — heavily suppressed by Vladimir Putin's government, but still simmering. "The only explanation for the lack of a mass anti-war movement and large-scale protests is the absence of an organized and popular opposition in Russia," Danylyuk said. "Under such conditions, there is no alternative to providing organizational and financial support for such a movement from the outside."Danylyuk's plan is ambitious, to say the least. Compelling Russia to make peace on the battlefield seems unlikely at least in the short term, as Russian forces advance slowly, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/russia-lost-1200-a-day-highest-since-war-began-intel-2024-5">painfully</a> but inexorably. Whether Saudi Arabia and other oil producers would choose to depress oil prices in the long term remains to be seen. Banking on the Russian public's anti-war sentiment is chancy, given the intense repression and propaganda of Putin's government.But the alternative is even worse, Danylyuk warns. <ul class="summary-list"><li>For many, finding a meaningful job has become harder than ever.</li><li>Career experts spoke to BI about the small details in an interview that could cost you a dream role.</li></ul>For many job seekers, landing a dream role has never felt so difficult.In the US, <a target="_blank" rel=" nofollow" href="https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/JTSJOL">job openings</a> fell to 7.6 million in July, according to government data, down from a peak of <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/job-market-unemployment-rate-interest-rates-fed-cuts-outlook-economy-2024-9">12.1 million in 2022.</a>Meanwhile, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.nr0.htm">said this month that</a> 4.1% of the American labor force was unemployed as of October 2024.Some job seekers report <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/applied-hundreds-jobs-struggling-get-hired-bridge-job-2024-6">applying to hundreds of jobs</a> before landing an interview. In such situations, every opportunity counts.Julia Toothacre and Jerry Lee at career consulting firm Wonsulting, spoke to Business Insider about the tiny details things that could cost you a job offer.<h2 id="e416a2b1-9357-4a3f-a052-f2556526c084">Only trying to impress the boss</h2>For in-person interviews, both Lee and Toothacre were in agreement that "the interview starts before you step into the room."They said candidates should try to impress everyone they meet at the company, not just the hiring manager or the boss.Lee, who previously worked at Google, said he would usually smile at the receptionist and chat a little before every interview."I've even heard of companies where they ask the receptionist what they thought of the candidate," he said."Every person you talk to, whether they do a coffee chat or show, assume they are an interviewer. It will go really, really long way."Toothacre said that she's had hiring managers tell her they got cut off while driving in by the candidate they were supposed to be interviewing later."I would hope that everybody would be kind and nice in general, but sometimes our head is in a different place so we have to make the extra effort," she added.<h2 id="89dc620f-a666-4883-8d18-564479160a01">Sitting before your interviewer sits down</h2>Once you're in the room, Lee said it's always a good idea to wait to sit down. "The interviewer sits first, and then you sit, or they start sitting, and then you'll sit," said Lee.This is both good manners and makes sure you don't both reach for the same seat, which could throw you off balance at the beginning of the interview, especially if you're already nervous."Manners are very important, and it's a small thing but it won't hurt."<h2 id="9bbe3623-dc4b-4d74-95c5-1a5046974afc">Using your phone to take notes</h2>Toothacre said it's good to have a pad of paper and a pen with you to take notes or work things out during the interview. "If you don't have anything, that is a signal to them that you're not necessarily taking the interview seriously."However, taking notes on your phone would be an even more serious error."Especially with the rise of ChatGPT, I've heard a lot of feedback from hiring teams — especially for technical roles like software engineering — that they never know if a candidate's work is fully theirs," said Lee, whose company specializes in prepping candidates for tech and finance jobs."In that context, doing your work on or taking notes on your phone could potentially come off as you cheating."If you absolutely have to use technology, Toothacre suggests using an iPad instead of a phone.<h2 id="36a8706c-997e-4551-a5e5-fcf06fe18368">Getting their extra-early</h2>Early birds tend to get the worm, but showing up earlier than 10-15 minutes before your scheduled time could work against you."Being too early could even inconvenience the team, especially if they staggered interviews on purpose," said Lee.Toothacre added that the 10-15-minute window shouldn't include time spent getting through security or finding the right room."If you have accessibility requirements, make sure to communicate with your recruiter beforehand about the building's access points so you don't lose time on the day."If you arrive early because you live far away from the interview site, Lee suggests taking walks outside to calm your nervous system down a bit before heading in.<h2 id="016f1a1d-8ea8-42b9-9b39-f0abbee3a846">Piling on the perfume</h2>You definitely want to smell good when meeting with prospective employers in person, but overpowering perfume could be a turn-off."Perfume is a really fine line," said Toothacre. "I would not spray anything like right before you walk in, because it's probably not going to dissipate quickly enough, and you don't know who could have an allergy."Toothacre advised finding a subtle scent or applying it an hour before the interview so there is still a hint of it but not enough to overwhelm someone in a closed space.At the end of the day, you will never have full control of whether you get hired or not, said Lee.
