Nuvoco Vistas IPO: Check allotment status, listing date and more

<ul><li>Shares of Nuvoco Vistas Corp listed at ₹471 while the price band was fixed at ₹560-570 per share.</li><li>The IPO was subscribed just 1.71 times on the last day of the bidding.</li><li>The market capitalisation of the company stood at ₹16,822.05 crore.</li></ul>Shares of cement manufacturer Nuvoco Vistas Corp made a weak listing on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE as the stock listed at 17.37% discount on the issue price band of ₹560-570 apiece. Investors had expected a negative listing after the CarTrade Tech IPO had also opened at discount last week because of weak momentum in the market led by global cues. Post listing, the market capitalisation of the company stood at ₹16,822.05 crore, according to BSE data. The shares of Nuvoco Vistas Corp were trading at ₹510, lower by 10.53% at 10.00 a.m., on August 23. The grey market had hinted at a negative listing as unlisted shares of Nuvoco Vistas were commanding a marginal premium of ₹5-6 per share over the issue price of ₹570 apiece. The IPO ⁠— open between August 9 and August 11 ⁠— received tepid response from investors. It was subscribed 1.71 times on the last day of the bidding. Nuvoco, which is one of the largest cement players in east India, is a subsidiary of the Nirma Group, famous for its eponymous detergent brand. It is also one of the leading ready mix concrete manufacturers in India and has grown from being a cement focused entity to now a building materials company offering more than 50 products across cement, ready mix concrete and modern building materials sold under well-established brand names such as Concreto, Duraguard, Double Bull, ZeroM and Instamix. Analysts had recommended subscribing to the IPO issue as they are bullish on the overall cement industry. Adding to it is the fact that the company holds a dominant position in east India with 17% market share in terms of capacity. Gujarat-based Nirma Group is a diversified conglomerate that manufactures products ranging from chemicals to detergents, soaps, healthcare products and real estate development. With a strong promoter backing the Nuvoco Vistas grew from a cement based firm to offering various building materials like mixed concrete, cement, wall putty, blocks, plaster, and more. Adding to it is the fact that the company holds a dominant position in east India with 17% market share in terms of capacity. <div type="image" title="Nuvoco peers" height="900" width="1200" msid="85177110" hostid="261"></div> “The country’s demand growth is likely to be led by east and central regions and will be primarily from affordable housing and infrastructure creation and the cement sector is expected to largely benefit from it. Nuvoco Vistas, being the largest cement company in the east region, is well placed to capitalise on these opportunities...We recommend to subscribe the [sic] issue from a long-term perspective,” said analysts at Investmentz.com. One biggest drawback for the company is its high debt. As of December 31, 2020, its net debt stood at ₹7,259 crore. The company intends to use the proceeds from the fresh issue to pay some of its debt. The cement manufacturer’s valuation is at a discount to its large cap peers as it partially factors high debt and low returns on capital employed (ROCE), said a report by IDBI Capital. “But given [the] up-cycle in the cement industry and expectation of improvement in margin and balance sheet deleveraging over FY21-23 earnings estimate we recommend subscribe,” added the report. Nirma Group backed Nuvoco Vistas IPO: Analysts are bullish on the cement sector and recommend the IPO for long term

Cement manufacturer Nuvoco Vistas Corp to raise ₹5,000 crore through IPO

In the midst of the <keyword id="6389936" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="pegasus">Pegasus</keyword> snooping controversy, the defence ministry on Monday said it did not have any transaction with the <keyword id="3598670" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="NSO-Group">NSO Group</keyword>, which sells the spyware. Pegasus scandal: No transaction with NSO Group which deals with spyware, says India's defence ministry

<div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image">iStock; Peabody/YouTube; Samantha Lee/Business InsiderFrom ride-hailing startups like Uber and Lyft, to collaboration platform Slack, and vacation rental marketplace Airbnb, the 2019 IPO lineup is chock-full of widely known tech unicorns with mega-valuations.</div></div></div><ul class="summary-list"><li>Market volatility at the end of 2018 put a pause on the IPO pipeline, but tech investment bankers expect the deals to flow at the turn of the calendar year. </li><li>With a long list of marquee names like Uber and Lyft, IPOs in 2019 could set new records in terms of valuation and exits for Silicon Valley venture capitalists.</li><li>But VCs aren't the only ones set to win. Bankers expect to see private equity firms try their hands at tapping the public markets, as well.</li><li>Meanwhile, the largest tech companies in China are also taking a hard look at US exchanges for IPOs of their own.</li></ul>Tech IPOs could break new records in 2019 as US bankers prepare for some of the largest private companies in the world to make their big stock market debuts. Despite a blockbuster lineup of Silicon Valley success stories, like Uber (<a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/uber-proposals-value-company-at-120-billion-in-a-possible-ipo-1539690343">reportedly weighing</a> a $120 billion valuation) and Airbnb (<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/airbnb-ipo-investor-facebook-executive-2018-7">last valued at</a> $31 billion), there's one big question on everyone's minds: How will stock market volatility impact IPOs?The stock market sell off in October was <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/stock-market-investing-strategy-of-buying-dips-has-ended-morgan-stanley-2018-11">the worst Wall Street has seen</a> in seven years, and some IPO-ready companies even put on the breaks to avoid going public in a down market, bankers said.But technology bankers are an optimistic bunch. While bankers said they are keeping a watchful eye, most still expect there to be around 50 US tech IPOs in 2019. That's just shy of 2018's total, which data provider Dealogic pegged at 53 in mid-December, with a total of $19.8 billion in deal value. "I don't think we're seeing people change their plans in light of the volatility at the moment," said Greg Chamberlain, managing director and head of US Technology, Media and Telecoms Equity Capital Markets at J.P. Morgan. "As we get into 2019, people will think more about the precise timing to go public."When exactly these companies decide to go public is anyone's guess - an IPO-ready team only has to decide about two weeks ahead of the public listing. Though for some banks, the second quarter may be a hectic one. "There's no doubt we're going to have a very busy March, April and May, and that's going to set the stage for the remainder of the year," said Chris Cormier, managing director and head of tech equity capital markets at UBS.But with many companies taking advantage of the opportunity to file confidentially, it's hard to know exactly which companies are near the finish line."At this point, anyone who can file confidentially will file confidentially," said lawyer Anna T. Pinedo, a partner Mayer Brown's corporate and securities practice. "Assuming that the market cooperates, there will probably be a big surge in the number of public filings in early January."<h2>It's the year of the unicorns</h2><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image">GettyUber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi could have the biggest IPO of 2019. Bankers have reportedly suggested a $120 billion valuation for the ride-hailing service.</div></div></div>Some of the most valuable private companies in Silicon Valley have plans to go public in 2019. Both <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/lyft-reportedly-filed-paperwork-to-go-public-with-an-ipo-in-early-2019-2018-12">Lyft</a> and <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/uber-confidentially-files-paperwork-ipo-report-2018-12">Uber</a> filed confidentially in the first week of December, and Slack reportedly <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/r-chat-service-firm-slack-taps-goldman-sachs-to-lead-ipo-sources-2018-12">tapped Goldman Sachs</a> to run its own IPO. Unicorns Airbnb and Pinterest are all also rumored to be in the pipeline. "We had a long period of companies staying private longer, and the birth of a generation of unicorns, and that has accelerated this year when people thought it might be leveling off," said Nick Giovanni, co-head of Global Technology Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs. "What it means is we're set for a tech IPO super-cycle, where there are more companies going public and more large IPOs happening than ever before."Even Bumble, the dating app where women have to make the first move, is weighing its options. And others, like venture-backed vegetarian food company Beyond Meat, has publicly filed - though there's debate about whether a fake meat company should be lumped with software startups.<div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image">Bennett Raglin/GettyBumble CEO Whitney Wolfe said that the dating app, which is owned by Badoo, is weigh its options for a possible exit.</div></div></div>"Many of these companies could have executed an IPO a year or two earlier. When they do come to list they will be well capitalized," said J.P. Morgan's Chamberlain.But insiders also expect a healthy pipeline of smaller software startups with deal sizes around the $200 million mark - companies which didn't quite make it public in the big enterprise tech spree of 2018, when bigger names like Dropbox and DocuSign entered the public markets.The cybersecurity company CrowdStrike, a competitor to Blackberry's $1.4 billion <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/blackberry-cylance-acquisition-insiders-2018-11">acquiree Cylance</a>, reportedly hired Goldman Sachs <a href="https://www.reuters.com/article/us-crowdstrike-ipo-exclusive/exclusive-crowdstrike-hires-goldman-sachs-to-lead-ipo-sources-idUSKCN1MT2RA">for its IPO,</a> while others like the $1.25 billion experience management company Medaillia have <a href="https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/experience-management-leader-medallia-appoints-roxanne-oulman-as-chief-financial-officer-300762958.html">made early moves</a>, like hiring a new chief financial officer."There is still a lot of backlog in software," said Neil Kell, Chairman and Head of U.S. Technology, Media and Telecommunications Equity Capital Markets at Bank of America."If you take size out of the equation and just look at the number of transactions, software businesses are going to grab the majority of the deal flow," he said.<h2>Private equity is ready to experiment with IPO </h2>While venture capital firms are set to see huge returns on decade-old investments, private equity firms also have their eye on Wall Street as an exit vehicle. Over the next year or two, bankers expect IPOs from technology-focused firms like Vista Equity Partners and Thoma Bravo - investors which have traditionally preferred to exit through M&amp;A."There's probably 10 to 20 private-equity-backed software companies that have to come out over the next 24 months," said UBS's Cormier. Private equity IPOs for tech companies are not entirely unprecedented, though investors have only recently shifted their attention toward growing companies rather than cutting costs. SolarWinds, which was bought by Silver Lake Management, HarbourVest Partners and Thoma Bravo in 2010, went public in October. And in a sign of what's to come, Vista <a href="https://www.reuters.com/article/us-vista-equity-m-a-ping-identity/vista-equity-hires-banks-for-ping-identity-ipo-sources-idUSKBN1OA2DY">reportedly hired Goldman Sachs</a> to lead an upcoming IPO for its secure access software Ping Identity, which it acquired for a reported $600 million in 2016.<h2>'Majority' of Chinese companies looking at US markets</h2><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image">Spencer Platt/GettyTencent Music, China's largest music streaming company, went public on the New York Stock Exchange on Dec. 12 with a $21 billion market cap.</div></div></div>Another trend insiders expect to see in 2019 is a continued flood of highly-valued Chinese companies hitting the US public markets.From the e-commerce app Pinduoduo to the peer-to-peer lender X Financial, Chinese companies <a href="https://venturebeat.com/2018/09/29/china-is-dominating-tech-ipos-on-u-s-markets-in-2018/">outpaced US companies</a> in US-exchange IPOs throughout 2018. Tencent Music, China's largest music streaming company, made its <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/r-chinas-tencent-music-jumps-11-percent-in-us-debut-2018-12?r=UK&amp;IR=T">stock market debut</a> on December 12 at a $21 billion valuation, and if it performs well, its success could propel other companies to action. China is home to a handful of unicorn tech companies including $75 billion Bytedance, $56 billion Didi Chuxing, and $18.5 billion Lu.com, <a href="https://www.cbinsights.com/research-unicorn-companies">according to CB Insights</a>. While some will choose to list in Hong Kong, New York is on everyone's radar, bankers said.Companies listed on exchanges in China and Hong Kong face stricter regulations than they do in the US, which many founders are drawn to for benefits like different voting rights for different share classes and better investor liquidity."If you talk to any of the big Chinese growth companies, the majority want to list in the US," said Cormier. While international politics have taken their toll on cross-boarder M&amp;A, the impact on IPO has been less severe and Chinese companies have been wooed to the US markets by access to capital and the allure of getting publicity on a global stage, bankers said. "There's all of the political implications of trade negotiations and trade conversations and how that ebbs and flow," said Kell. "But the US is arguably one of the largest, if not the largest top source of public and private capital for companies globally."
