The student organisations of INDIA alliance partners held a joint press conference demanding a "ban of NTA," the resignation of Union Education Minister <keyword id="19897147" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Dharmendra-Pradhan" source="keywords">Dharmendra Pradhan</keyword> and holding the NEET exam again. The press conference was attended by representatives of AISF, AISA, NSUI, Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha, SFI and CRJD. 'We are United here to address the issue of scams and corrupt practices carried out by NTA and the issue of NEET students," said NSUI president Varum Chaudhary. Putting forth their three demands, Chaudhary said, " We want the government to disband the NTA. We want Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to take responsibility and step down. The third thing we want is that NEET to be held again." NTA is grappling with controversy over alleged irregularities in the entrance exams, including the NEET and UGC NET. After irregularities resurfaced in the NEET and UGC NET exams, the central government postponed several exams, including the NEET PG. The opposition parties and several student organisations have been holding protests regularly, demanding action. Addressing the joint press conference, the national president of Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha, Imran Idris, demanded that government be held accountable. " Government should answer. Union Minister Dharmerndra Pradhan should answer. We want NTA be banned and Pradhan should resign." Viraaj Devang. The General Secretary of AISF reiterated the three demands and targeted the government for creating the education system. "NEET-like entrance exam should be removed.NTA scams and problems should not be seen in isolation. And the agenda is to how to throw backward people out of education system," Devang said "I urge the government to not play with the future of students of the country," he added.

NTA row: NSUI, other student outfits to hold protest on July 3 across country, demand Education Minister's resignation

The Delhi Police detained the protesting students while they tried to march towards the Parliament to press their demands. "After holding a presser at the Press Club, the students gathered at the Patel Chowk metro station from where they started marching towards the Parliament. Over a dozen students were detained while attempting to do so," said a police officer. Various students outfits under the banner "India against NTA" have been staging an indefinite sit-in at the Jantar Mantar here against alleged rigging in the NTA held examinations -- NEET UG, PG and UGC NET. Their protest entered its seventh day on Tuesday with a call to take out a march to the Parliament to forward the agitation. The members of Left backed All India Students Association (AISA) and Delhi University's Krantikari Yuva Sangathan (KYS) are among those sitting on the protest. The students have called for another march for "Sansad Gherao" on Wednesday along with the student outfits of INDIA block parties on the last day of 18th Lok Sabha. Their demands include scrapping of NTA, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation and decentralisation of entrance examinations.

Government’s Common Admission Test to rope in 15 central universities from next year

This will take away the burden from Central Board of Secondary Education and All India Council for Technical Education in terms of the administration work related to examinations.

Apart from school exams at Class 10 and Class 12 level for CBSE affiliated schools, CBSE conducts major higher education related entrances in the absence of any national testing body. 
 
It conducts the Joint Entrance Exam-main (JEE Main) for engineering schools including IITs, and the National Eligibility Test for UGC for selecting professors in college and university system.

The institute aims to fill as many as 17 vacancies with this recruitment drive — six for professor positions, six for associate professor and two assistant professors. The candidates should possess specialization in Oral &amp; Visual Communication, Political Communication, Data Journalism, Integrated Marketing Communication, Media Laws &amp; Regulations, Communication Research, Publications/Graphics/Design among others. The university offers an average compensation between ₹144,200 to ₹ 218,200 per month to professors. While the salary bracket for assistant professors and associate professors is ₹57,700 to ₹ 182,400, and ₹131,400 to ₹ 217,100, respectively.
