Indian startup founders on Monday said that to explore a comprehensive digital India, the <keyword id="6360189" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="union-budget" source="Orion">Union Budget</keyword> for FY24 must leverage the full inherent potential of the homegrown technology industry to become champions of digitisation. Gautam <keyword id="893041" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="nimmagadda" source="Orion">Nimmagadda</keyword>, Founder and CEO of Quixy, a cloud-based no-code application development platform, said that currently, startups can avail of a tax holiday for three years since incorporation. "However, the ideal exemption should be 10 years, in view of the high cost of solution development. As positive employment drivers, startups also require government intervention in the expensive affair of hiring and retaining the right talent to drive growth," Nimmagadda said in a statement. "To lead the startups onwards and upwards, a single-window process to enable the right financial support from government would be incentivising for MSMEs," he added. According to ESOPDhan co-founder <keyword id="576027" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="nitin-agarwal" source="Orion">Nitin Agarwal</keyword>, the budget can reduce the holding period of ESOP shares of unlisted companies from two years to one year for purposes of capital gain. "This would make ESOPs a more attractive tool to retain and reward employees, especially among startups that are today seen as major job creators," Agarwal added. 2023 is already shaping up to be a watershed moment for the gaming industry. With the government releasing draft online gaming rules earlier this month, the burgeoning sector will see a lot more success this year. We hope the government provides clarity on the tax slab applicable on skill gaming. Budget expectations: Startups seek 10-yr tax holiday, less holding period of ESOP shares

The minister also asked the e-commerce giant to put more focus on handicrafts from India and push them at a global level. Gadkari also joked about Amazon’s imports into India, and asked the company on how imports can be reduced to boost Indian products on the platform. Amazon India took over four years to get $2 billion in exports from India - it now wants to get 5 times the number in the next 5 years

They are heading for the exit door, with many citing a mixture of low job satisfaction and poor work-life balance.

 The latest exit was of <keyword id="843670" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Ravi-Vora">Ravi Vora</keyword>, the head of strategic initiatives at Flipkart, who quit this week. Others to have quit the country's largest <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=online+retailer+">online retailer</a> include engineering head <keyword id="6518849" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Sameer-Nigam">Sameer Nigam</keyword>, who left in July. 
 Chief Technology Officer <keyword id="1937803" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Amod-Malviya">Amod Malviya</keyword> transited to an advisory role in July. In February, Delhi-based Snapdeal saw its then CTO <keyword id="2049459" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Amitabh-Misra">Amitabh Misra</keyword> leave to start his own firm. 
 
Restaurant listing guide <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Zomato+">Zomato</a> has seen the exits of marketing heads <keyword id="499896" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Alok-Jain">Alok Jain</keyword>, and subsequently <keyword id="584823" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Rameet-Arora">Rameet Arora</keyword>, who quit within 10 months. Jain has started an ondemand food venture Yumist. 
 The Gurgaon-based company's chief product officer <keyword id="3019927" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Namita-Arora">Namita Arora</keyword> left within a year of joining the firm. 
 
Let’s know the reasons behind leaving the billion dollars companies. 
 
Seniors being relegated: Experts tasked with finding fresh talent for these high-growth startups say several exits stem from seniors being relegated when hierarchies alter. "Shrinking interactions with the founders coupled with decreased influence on impactful decisions are two most frequently cited reasons for individuals to move out of startups," Harish Kumar, founder of headhunting firm Wenger &amp; Watson, told ET. 
 
Volatile work environment, long working hours, and high levels of stress are also wearing out several senior executives at startups. "The culture of having beds for technology teams in offices can backfire and hurt emotional health," said a senior technology executive who quit a Delhi-based startup. 
 
Bid to lock in talent: Dissatisfaction with compensation is also leading to exits in several cases. Startups typically offer employee stock options aimed at locking in talent from a year to four years. Often, employees can cash in about a quarter of their holding after a year. "After that, shares can be redeemed on a pro rata basis every month or quarter, depending on the contract," said Seetharaman. 
 
However, this is only at an ideal startup. At several others, founders allow only a tenth of promised stock to be sold at the end of a year, with vesting periods rising incrementally to 40% at the end of four years. "There can be additional harsh lock-ins, which make the packages unfair," said the Delhi-based founder of an executive search firm who works with companies such as Flipkart, Zomato and Snapdeal. 
 
Senior employees are realising that they too have a chance of making big returns from India's unprecedented startup boom where the top Internet companies have between themselves soaked up some $6 bn of funding so far.

 The property fair which lasted for 10 days received more than 50 lakh visitors from across India. What surprised the organizers was the fact that new markets, apart from Delhi-NCR participated actively in the event. As per a report released by the organizing company, <keyword id="6354925" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kolkata">Kolkata</keyword> and Hyderabad are growing as new possibility for the real-estate sector. The response from these markets was at par with cities like Mumbai, Bangalore and Pune.

Success of Great Online House Festival by Magicbricks reiterates, that Internet can unlock the value by overcoming the inefficiencies in the offline model and offering rich, meaningful and immersive experience to real estate buyers on the Internet in both domestic tier 1, tier 2 cities and NRI audiences." 
 
The online fair showcased properties available in different prices starting from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 2 crore with exclusive deals. While queries were generate across all price ranges, online bookings were primarily seen for those ranging between Rs 40 - 80 lakh. 
 <keyword id="368491" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sachin-Agarwal">Sachin Agarwal</keyword>, Chairman &amp; Managing Director<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=+Maple+Group"> Maple Group</a> said that he was extremely delighted with the response that he received from the GOHF. He said, "In a short span of 10 days we sold 40 flats and some more are in discussion for closure for the most upcoming areas of Wagholi Annexe &amp; Chakan Taelgaon projects. We are very surprised that many buyers are from Delhi and Mumbai too, and glad that GOHF took our properties to a national level".

The minimum investment slab is just Rs 10,000." Gadkari informed that 25 per cent of NCDs has been reserved for Retail Investors. We have reserved 25 per cent of NCDs for Retail Investors. The round 2 of InvIT has been oversubscribed almost 7 times in just 7 hours of its opening. <ul><li>On Monday, Gunjan Patidar, Zomato’s co-founder and chief technology officer tendered his resignation.</li><li><keyword id="7349800" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bharatpe" source="Orion">BharatPe</keyword>’s CEO Suhail Sameer has quit the top job to become its strategic advisor.</li><li>There has been a lot of churn in new-age companies like Nykaa, and also big techs like Meta India, WhatsApp Pay, Amazon India and more.</li></ul>New age companies in India have been hit by a flurry of exits by top executives, leaving them scurrying for replacements. This comes at a time when startups have been battling funding winter and elevated inflation, in a rising interest rate regime. BharatPe, a fintech is amongst those with multiple high profile exits, including its co-founder and former managing director Ashneer Grover, along with his wife Madhuri Jain Grover – who not only had to leave the company, but were also sued by BharatPe in December 2022 for ₹88.6 crore. The company alleged that both husband and wife engaged in misappropriation of funds including creating fake bills, enlisting fictitious vendors and so on. Adding to BharatPe’s woes is the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/business/startups/news/bharatpe-ceo-suhail-sameer-to-step-down-five-months-after-taking-over/articleshow/96703750.cms">departure</a> of its CEO Suhail Sameer on January 3. Sameer took over as the company’s CEO in August 2021, a year after being appointed as the company’s president. He will now serve as a strategic advisor starting January 7, 2023. Before Sameer, BharatPe witnessed the departure of four other high level executives last November. This includes Nehul Malhotra, head of PostPe which is BharatPe’s ‘Buy Now Pay Later’ arm. The others were the CTO Vijay Aggarwal; Rajat Jain, the chief product officer; and Geetanshu Singla, VP of technology. They moved on to pursue their own entrepreneurial passions, the company had then said in a statement. Zomato rocked by multiple top level exits, too Sameer’s resignation comes hours after Gunjan Patidar, Zomato’s co-founder and chief technology officer, tendered his resignation. Patidar was one of the first few employees of Zomato who built the core tech systems of the company. “Over the last ten plus years, he (Patidar) also nurtured a stellar tech leadership team that is capable of taking on the mantle of leading the tech function going forward. His contribution to building Zomato has been invaluable,” said the company. Patidar’s exit is the third high-level exit at the food delivery giant in two months. In November last year, another one of Zomato’s co-founders Mohit Gupta tendered his resignation. Its head of new initiatives Rahul Ganjoo; and Siddharth Jhawar, vice-president of global growth also quit in the same month. The list goes on as in September 2022, Zomato’s deputy CFO Nitin Savara also tendered his resignation. The company has been bleeding money and it reported a consolidated loss of ₹251 crore in Q2 FY23. New age companies’ top heads move in and out of big tech companies There is a lot of churn among top executives of new-age tech companies as well as big techs. Online beauty retailer Nykaa’s CFO Arvind Agarwal, who had been with the company through its IPO, quit and joined fintech major PayU as its India CFO, this November. On the other hand, new-age companies have also been able to attract executives from major companies into their fold as well. Case in point is Sugar Cosmetics who brought in Amit Aggarwal, Marico’s head of finance of its India business, as its CFO. Adding to it, Amazon India’s director of grocery, food and health Sameer Khetarpal resigned and moved to Jubilant FoodWorks as CEO, a franchisee that runs Domino’s Pizza, Dunkin Donuts outlets in India. Meta India country head Ajit Mohan tendered his resignation in November 2022, to join rival Snap as the President of Asia Pacific. Following this, WhatsApp India’s head Abhijit Bose and Meta India’s public policy head Rajiv Aggarwal also resigned. The latter joined Samsung India. WhatsApp Pay’s director and head Manesh Mahatme also left his position in September to join Amazon India as director, product and engineering. Last but not the least, another shocking exit was of Parag Agarwal, former CEO of Twitter who was fired by Elon Musk in October, a year after he was appointed for the position. The English tech company throws out traditional addresses and instead divides the world into a grid of 10-foot by 10-foot squares. Each square is identified by a combination of three seemingly random words.In a delivery scenario, the drive receives the code, which identifies the grid square containing the entrance as opposed to the traditional address. Recipients can also use the tech to identify a precise location for packages to be dropped (within 10 feet) — like the back door instead of the front. In many cases, recipients enter their street address when they make the initial purchase and then see a question pop up asking them to specify a grid square. Then what3words generates the code for Axelhire to use when it's delivery time. "This is a new way of thinking about addresses and collecting information," Robinson told Insider. Many Indian banks, including ICICI and SBI, are ready to take on a battle with non-bank companies offering <keyword id="6368227" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Mobile-wallets">mobile wallets</keyword>. For this, they are armed with their readymade payment systems, a wide merchant network and an on tap customer base, with which they want to reclaim what was their territory just a couple of years ago. 
 
In the past one year, large lenders like ICICI Bank, SBI, Axis Bank and HDFC Bank have launched new payment instruments so that they can prevent their customers from moving money to these newly emerging non-bank companies. 
 These apps include SBI's Buddy, ICICI's Pockets, HDFC Bank's PayZapp and Axis' Lime, which are in the market to challenge <keyword id="6357120" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="PayTM">Paytm</keyword>, <keyword id="143842" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Mobikwik">MobiKwik</keyword> and Citrus Pay. 
 
"It is an evolving space and the shift is towards digital transactions. None of us know the pace of the shift. Everyone is trying to experiment with the space," Axis Bank Chief Executive Shikha Sharma told ET. 
 
While on one side, wallets have spent millions of rupees to brand themselves and establish their presence in the market, banks are using their existing brand value to attract customers. 
 
"Investments in this business for us is in terms of deployment of resources as platform has been provided by our technology partner," said Manju Agarwal, SBI’s Deputy MD for corporate strategy and new businesses. 
 
Parag Rao, who heads cards and merchant acquiring at HDFC Bank, told ET that he has been leveraging the bank's merchant and customer base so that customers can be offered attractive discounts for users of PayZapp. 
 
"We want to facilitate all forms of transactions that the customer uses. In the physical world, the user can use the credit card and the debit card while in the mobile world he can use wallets," Rao said. 
 
Data from RBI show that the number of outstanding debt and credit cards have increased more than three times in the past six years. However, paying in cash is still people’s preferable option. 
 
"Banks are excellent settlement engines, but when it comes to user experience, we have been able to train 123 million people over the last five years to make digital transactions without glitches. People trust us with their money," said Nitin Mishra, head of products at Paytm, India's largest wallet company.
