Experts noted that global markets supported Trump's victory on Wednesday, and his success in the elections is expected to be more potentially transformative than initially thought. However, his decisions could have both positive and negative impacts on different sectors. "The Trump victory is turning out to be more potentially transformative than thought earlier. With the Congress and the Senate coming under Republican control and President Trump exercising power without bothering about another term in office, hugely transformational decisions are possible in the months following Trump's assumption of office. These decisions may turn out to be both good and bad" said V K Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Financial Services. "His pro-business initiative of 'America First' can strengthen the American economy. But if he walks his talk and imposes a 60% tariff on Chinese imports and a 10 to 20% tariff on imports from other countries, that would trigger inflation and jeopardise the Fed's policy of containing inflation, necessitating a rethink of the Fed's present policy of rate cut. This has the potential to negatively impact global stock markets,” Vijayakumar added. In the sectoral indices, a mixed performance was seen on the National Stock Exchange, with Nifty Auto, Nifty Pharma, Nifty IT, and Nifty FMCG gaining, while Nifty Bank, Nifty Metal, and Nifty Private Bank declined. In the quarterly announcements today, Mahindra &amp; Mahindra, Trent, Rail Vikas Nigam, Linde India, Lupin, NHPC, and Aditya Birla Fashion &amp; Retail are some of the major companies set to announce their second-quarter financial performance. In other Asian markets on Thursday, Japan's Nikkei index was down marginally by 0.4%, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng gained 0.68%. Taiwan's weighted index also rose by 1.07%, and South Korea's KOSPI index was up by 0.41%. In China, the Shanghai Composite also gained 0.75% after Trump's return. Nifty and Sensex continue downward trend, selling continues despite Trump's victory

HCL Tech, Tata Steel, and Dr. Reddy's emerged as the top gainers in the opening session, while BPCL, Power Grid, Titan, and BEL opened as the top losers in Nifty 50. US elections, Fed meeting, China's meet on stimulus will keep pressure on Indian stocks: Experts

Market experts pointed out that the <keyword id="19908008" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="volatility" source="keywords">volatility</keyword> in markets is expected this week. The US August payrolls data, along with revised data for the last two months, will be market-mover and will be released at the end of the week. Fed rate cuts are also expected this month, with investors waiting for it cautiously. "September starts with the Fed rate cuts imminent and volatility expected around the event. For Indian markets, we expect a minor correction as 12 record-breaking days of continuous positive moves will see some profit-taking setting in. A gap up is expected today but at some point some selling is expected at these all-time high levels. We expect a flat to slightly lower market this week, mostly due to some reversion to mean after 12 record-breaking continuously positive moves," said Ajay Bagga, Banking and Market Expert to ANI. In the Nifty 50 list, 42 shares opened with advances, while 8 stocks started the week with a decline. In the broader market, all indices, including Nifty Next 50 and Nifty 100, opened with gains, but the India Volatility Index (India VIX) also surged by more than 2 per cent. In the sectoral indices, Nifty Auto declined due to the drop in vehicle sales in August. Nifty Media, Nifty PSU Bank, and Nifty Metal also showed corrections. Stock markets open in a positive zone but experts suggest Volatility this week

Experts noted that the election results have an impact on the markets today, and if past trends are followed, the markets may witness some rally amid the return of the BJP in the Maharashtra state elections. <keyword id="20161891" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ajay-Bagga" source="keywords">Ajay Bagga</keyword> Banking and Market Expert stated that "The just concluded elections in Maharashtra, the results of which were declared on November 23rd, will have a positive immediate impact on the stock markets. Nifty Sensex breaks five-session losing trend, experts predict positive outlook this week

In Europe, investors digested a slew of central bank rate decisions this week and their impact on the global economy," says Shrikant Chouhan, Head Equity Research, Kotak Securities. <h3>Bullish momentum intact, but caution ahead</h3>From a technical perspective, the Sensex and Nifty are showing strong bullish momentum. The Nifty closed above the key resistance of 25,600, signaling further upside potential toward the 25,900-26,000 range. However, traders should keep an eye on the short-term profit booking, as indicated by the formation of a Shooting Star-like candlestick pattern near the index’s all-time high. Immediate support for the Nifty stands at 25,500, with additional support levels at 25,300 and 25,120, according to technical analysts. As long as the Nifty remains above 25,600, a "Buy on Dips" strategy is advisable for traders. However, if it falls below 25,620, a "Sell on Rise" approach might be more prudent. "The recent surge in major indices, particularly the high beta index BankNifty, indicates a favorable shift in market dynamics. It is recommended to capitalize on the upward momentum by taking profits, rather than adopting an aggressive stance in the overbought territory," says Osho Krishan, Senior Analyst - Technical &amp; Derivatives, Angel One Ltd. <h3>What's next for the markets?</h3>As markets head into uncharted territory, the focus will shift to key macroeconomic indicators, including inflation, geopolitical concerns, and global economic trends. Sensex @ 84k: With 1,359 pts gain, benchmark index settles above historic mark

Indian banks are expected to have steady growth in earnings and returns over the next 3–4 years, according to a recent report by Jefferies. It expects a 13% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in loan growth for banks between FY24 and FY27, helmed by a supportive environment and expected adjustments in interest rates. "We expect steady growth in earnings and stable returns, Over FY24-27, the banks we cover should see 13% CAGRin loans We factor 25-50 bps cut in rates, &amp; depending on timing, NIMs will move," the report said. Depending on the timing, these rate cuts could impact banks' <keyword id="20076541" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="net-interest-margins" source="keywords">net interest margins</keyword> (NIMs), which measure the difference between interest income generated and interest paid to depositors. Despite these risks, the report expects banks' return on assets (ROA) and return on equity (ROE) to remain healthy, underscoring the sector's stable profitability potential. "Throughout the week, the 24,100–24,000 zone provided some support due to oversold conditions, but the index faced persistent resistance on attempted rebounds. Despite multiple efforts, prices couldn’t surpass the 24,500 level. A strong close above this range is needed before considering aggressive positions, as the market seems poised for a phase of high volatility, he continued. "The banking sector, which has shown relative strength but stalled at key levels, will be crucial in determining the market’s next move. Traders should keep a close eye on this sector for guidance. Notably, the week saw improved market breadth with several individual stocks posting notable gains. However, a selective approach remains essential in this volatile environment", continued Bhosale. The immediate focus is on the core personal consumption expenditures (PCE) data due later in the day to assess the Fed's policy stance ahead of the next rate decision on Nov 7.
