A parliamentary committee has recommended setting up population-based cancer registries in rural areas to help data-driven and evidence-based policy formulation. It has also suggested raising taxes on tobacco products citing that increasing their market price would make them less affordable. This will result in lower consumption and decrease the risk of tobacco-related diseases, including cancer, the panel said. The <keyword id="46535" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="health-ministry" source="Orion">health ministry</keyword> must pursue with the Department of Revenue to expedite the decision on raising taxes on tobacco products, the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare said in its 147th report. It was presented in <keyword id="48510" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="rajya-sabha" source="Orion">Rajya Sabha</keyword> on Friday. It said for better policy formulation on cancer treatment and uniform distribution of cancer care, there is an urgent need to have realistic information about the incidence and type of cancers across the country. The committee said that the health ministry should take appropriate steps to persuade state governments to participate in the formulation of the cancer atlas so that the entire Indian population is covered under Population Based Cancer Registries (PBCRs). This will help in data-driven and evidence-based policy formulation, it said. It suggested that PBCRs can be linked to the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission to record data of cancer patients to get real-time information on cancer-related illnesses. "The committee has taken note that currently PBCRs cover 16 per cent of the Indian population only. Therefore, it is quite necessary that the National Cancer Registry Programme cover the population of India extensively, in order to have a unified national database for scientific understanding of epidemiology of cancer," the report said. Stressing a robust screening mechanism for cancer, the committee suggested that one day in a month can be fixed for cancer screening. While appreciating the government's impetus on an institutional framework for cancer care and management and financial support for combating cancer, the committee said cancer must be dealt with separately instead of being a part of other lifestyle and non-communicable diseases. It recommended the demerger of the National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP) from the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular diseases and Stroke (NPCDCS) to have a better focus on screening, early diagnosis and management of cancer. In its report, the committee said that in all the leftover districts Non-Communicable Diseases (<keyword id="131571" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="ncd" source="Orion">NCD</keyword>) clinics should be set up at the earliest and more healthcare professionals be trained for screening of common cancer. The panel highlighted that adequate human resource in cancer centres is crucial for their complete operationalisation and recommended setting up subsidised or free accommodation for patients and their relatives near cancer hospitals. The National Health Authority (<keyword id="672062" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="nha" source="Orion">NHA</keyword>) should consider including all types of cancer diagnostic tests under the Ayushman Bharat <keyword id="6524177" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="pradhan-mantri" source="Orion">Pradhan Mantri</keyword> Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), it said. It appreciated that in compliance with the committee's recommendations, the NHA has approved the inclusion of diagnostic tests under the AB-PMJAY with respect to breast, cervical and oral cancer. The committee noted that the health ministry has set up the e-Sanjivini Ayushman Bharat-Health Wellness Centre (AB-HWC), where doctor-to-doctor telemedicine services can be delivered through the hub and spoke model. It recommended that this model should be strengthened so that the opinions of experts can be provided to cancer patients in isolated and backward areas. The ministry should instruct National Cancer Grid (<keyword id="1502308" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="ncg" source="Orion">NCG</keyword>) officials to explore group negotiation of commonly used high-value cancer drugs with pharmaceutical companies through a transparent central tendering platform to have substantial discounts on cancer drugs. Since the mandate of the National Pharmaceuticals Pricing Authority is to ensure the availability of drugs at affordable prices, the committee reiterated that the pricing of cancer drugs should not be guided by profit as in the case of the other businesses. If it is not possible to reduce the profit margin of such drugs, the government may subsidise it, it said in its report. "The committee feels that the submission made by the Secretary, Department of Pharmaceutical, before the committee that over a period of about eight years or so the actual price increase in the drugs had been only between two to four per cent, does not mean that each manufacturer keeps the price of the drug below 10 per cent, as the mechanism permits them to make the hike up to 10 per cent," the report said. The committee said the government should rationalise the annual price hike limit of cancer drugs from 10 to five per cent in order to rescue poor cancer patients. It also suggested the ministry look at subsidising the healthcare cost for cancer patients and declare radiotherapy service as an essential commodity. The ministry should take the matter on board immediately and declare radiotherapy service as an essential commodity so that patients can get some relief from bearing the high cost of the service, it said. Parliamentary panel recommends setting up of population-based cancer registries in rural areas

New Delhi, Dec 5 () The National Health Authority (NHA) on Thursday said it has signed an agreement with Bharti Foundation, The Akshaya Patra Foundation and HelpAge India to raise awareness about Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY).
 Under the agreement, Bharti Foundation will raise awareness about the the public health scheme across 16 states, HelpAge among the elderlies and Akshay Patra will raise awareness about the project through its school network.
 Indu Bhushan, chief executive officer of AB-PMJAY and NHA, in a joint statement said the partnership with The Akshaya Patra Foundation, Bharti Foundation and HelpAge India has provided us an opportunity to reach out to the potential beneficiaries.
 "We believe that these organisations' long-term presence in the rural areas and their grassroot connection will help us in achieving the desired awareness level for the scheme across the country," Bhushan said.
 AB-PMJAY scheme provides an annual health cover of Rs 5 lakh to poor families for secondary and tertiary care hospitalisation through a network of empanelled health care providers (EHCP).
 Under the agreement, Bharti Foundation will hold sensitisation drives with its school network targeting stakeholders such as school children, parents and the immediate village community.
 "This collaboration is in line with our efforts to ensure better life for underprivileged families in rural India," Mamta Saikia, chief executive officer of Bharti Foundation, said
 NHA will conduct various community campaigns, parent meetings and rallies and engage with local panchayats and other community members to sensitise the underprivileged community about objectives and benefits of the AB-PMJAY, the statement said.
 AB-PMJAY has more than 19,000 hospitals empanelled where nearly 68,37,588 people have availed of treatments under the scheme. PRS HRS

But she wasn't there to scale the world's tallest peak.Instead, Lee, a 48-year-old resident of San Diego, California, had come to compete in the Everest ultra-marathon: a 60-kilometer (37-mile) race from the peak's Base Camp to Namche Village, 6,000 feet down the mountain. Lee had already <a href="https://www.mcall.com/local-ultra-runner-is-first-american-woman-to-complete-mount-everest-extreme-race-story.html">run a marathon on every continent</a>, including Antarctica, and also completed the Marathon des Sable, a six-day, 155-mile race in the Sahara Desert. But an ultra-marathon starting at the lung-bursting altitude of 17,515 feet was another matter entirely. In the Everest ultra, runners climb over ice and rock, their bodies struggling for oxygen as lactic acid pools in cramped, tired legs. The event has been held six times since its inception in 2013 (with a hiatus after the April 2015 Nepal earthquake). Namche Village, the finish line at 11,283 feet, is a popular stop-over for mountaineers hiking to Everest from Lukla airport. The fastest runners tend to reach the village within a day. On average, fewer than 20 people sign up every year, most of them men, and most of from Nepal. This year, foreign participants were assigned Nepali escorts for the latter half of the race.But for Lee and several other runners, the Everest ultra turned out to be even more challenging than they'd expected. The starting line at Base Camp is higher than the summit of Mount Whitney, the tallest point in the continental US.The fastest runners can complete the course in about 6.5 hours, but the race can take a day-and-a-half for slower runners, who must stop overnight. Then about 23 kilometers (14 miles) in, at the village of Pangboche, the ultra's course separates from the marathon's.For those first 14 miles, Lee said, everything went well. At Pangboche, she found an aid station offering medical support and water. Foreign runners like Lee, Mello, and Joshi were joined at that point by Nepali escorts."That was where the climbing started," Lee said. The other stations marked in the handbook were unstaffed.Ricky Yonzon, the Everest Marathon company's field and operations head, said runners were told these aid stations would close after a cut-off time late in the day. But Lee said this took her by surprise.Then it started to get dark.Lee and her fellow runners had been instructed to take shelter at the Nha La lodge checkpoint - about 40 kilometers (25 miles) into the race - if they weren't going to reach the finish before sunset."Our event guide emphasized that the ultra route was very dangerous to do at night," she said. But the lodge was closed."I was scared," she said. "I had diarrhea that afternoon and was shivering at that point." Mackenzie said none of the event organizers were aware that the lodge - which isn't owned by the company - would be closed."But the runners knew there were other places to go onto," he said.Lee told a different story. "The pacers didn't know what to do, and we couldn't communicate with the race organizers," she said. "Luckily my pacer, Bhim Raj Rai, was very familiar with the area and said our safest bet was to get to Phang Village about an hour-and-a-half away."The village wasn't mentioned in the handbook, she said.By then, fog had descended on the mountain, temperatures were dropping, and the runners could no longer see Everest's ridge line in the fading light."We had no other choice - we were already shivering. My pacer even gave me his outer layer," Lee said. As they were leaving, an orange, ghostly figure stumbled toward the front door of their lodge. It was Briant.He had spent the night outside, alone.Briant said he'd willingly separated from his Nepali escort during the 9-mile stretch between Pangboche and Nha La lodge. "My guide had to be home with his family. I always say family first," Briant said. But he had not expected Nha La to be closed. By the time Briant reached the shuttered lodge, he said, fog had rolled in. He could no longer see the red flags that marked the route. He stumbled in and out of a river along the trail, leaving his shoes and socks soaked."I was forced to sleep - trust me, I'm not one to take naps," he said. "The fog was so thick, I had no choice."Briant sheltered in place in near-freezing temperatures, at an altitude above 13,000 feet. "I was at that point that I would have welcomed an air evac. I was trembling and refused to sleep. As I looked up, I saw the fog film about an inch over my face."<h2>32 hours on the mountain</h2>Mackenzie said he didn't think it was necessary for Briant to sleep outside, and added that the environment at that altitude is "benign," but Briant said he didn't feel confident enough to continue on the trail alone that night. "The cold almost broke me," he said.But the next morning, Briant said, "I looked at my map using my phone, I thought about how far I've come, and I said, 'I'm going to finish this ultra!'" He got up and started moving, pushing through pain from the cold."I found one red flag, and a second. My adrenaline kicked in and I was on the move," he said.After catching up to Lee's group, Briant connected with Mackenzie by phone. They had been on the trail for almost 32 hours.But the runners were in high spirits at the finish line, Mackenzie said. "I was led to believe [Briant] was on death's door, but he looked spritely. Her own high-altitude ultra-marathon days are done, she added, though she still plans to compete in other ultras.Mackenzie said organizers will make sure that a situation like Briant's "will not happen again there." The company is also considering instituting new pre-qualifications for the ultra in the future."Entrants are reasonably expected to consider the nature of the event, and to assess their own abilities and to prepare accordingly," Mackenzie said. New Delhi, Jan 31 () To promote preventive healthcare, 1.5 lakh Ayushman Bharat Health &amp; Wellness Centres are proposed to be set up by 2022, according to the Economic Survey 2019-20.
 The Survey was tabled in Parliament on Friday by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
 A total of 28,005 such centres have already been set up as on January 14, 2020, it added.
 "Under Mission Indradhanush, 3.39 crore children and 87.18 lakh pregnant women in 680 districts across the country have been vaccinated," the Survey noted.
 New vaccines such as Measles-Rubella (MR), Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine, Rotavirus Vaccine and Inactivated Polio Vaccine have also been introduced, it added.
 "As per the latest National Health Accounts (NHA) 2016-17, the out of pocket expenditure as a percentage of total health expenditure has declined from 64.2 per cent in 2013-14 to 58.7 per cent in 2016-17," the Survey said.
 Primary healthcare accounts for 52.1 per cent of India's current public expenditure on health as per the National Health Estimates, 2016-17. The National Health Policy, 2017 recommended to spend at least two thirds of the government's health expenditure on primary healthcare, it added.
 "Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), the world's largest health insurance scheme, is a major step towards providing affordable healthcare to the identified poor," the Survey said.
 The scheme has been rolled out based on the deprivation and occupational criteria of the Socio-Economic Caste Census for rural and urban areas, respectively, it added.
 In another step, "Under Free Drugs Service initiative, substantial funds have been given to States for provision of free drugs. All States/UTs have notified policy to provide essential drugs free in health facilities," the Survey said.
 Free diagnostics service initiative was also launched to address the high out of pocket expenditure (OoPE) on diagnostics and improve quality of healthcare services, it added.
 In addition, Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadi Pariyojana (PMBJP) and Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme (PMNDP) are some of the new initiatives that address the issue of high OoPE on account of drugs and hospital care, the Survey said.
 According to the Survey, to address the shortage of doctors, the government has embarked on an ambitious programme for upgradation of district hospitals into medical colleges. In last 5 years, the government has sanctioned 141 new medical colleges.
 The government has also supported states to add nearly 2.51 lakh additional health human resources, it added.
 The launch of Ayushman Bharat has marked a paradigm shift in the way healthcare is delivered. Ayushman Bharat targets universal health coverage by focusing on preventive, promotive and palliative care apart from ambulatory care and by providing protection against catastrophic health expenditure for secondary and tertiary hospital care, the Survey said.
 "The focus of healthcare is on four important pillars - preventive healthcare, providing affordable healthcare, building medical infrastructure and mission mode interventions for maternal health, child health and to combat communicable and non-communicable diseases...," it added.
 With the marked increase in burden of non-communicable diseases, the government is focused on addressing this epidemiological transition from communicable diseases to noncommunicable diseases, the Survey said. AKT AKT ANU

Sgt. 1st Class Christopher Celiz, a Ranger, put himself in between Taliban fighters and a helicopter in Afghanistan in 2018.The three soldiers enter a very select cadre. Since 1862, when the Medal of Honor was established, only <a href="https://www.cmohs.org/medal" target="_top">3,527 medals</a>, not counting the three presented this week, have been awarded.That is an astoundingly low percentage when compared to the number of troops who have served. Kelley" height="889" width="1186" msid="88344067" hostid="261"></div>In March 1969, a SEAL assault team conducted a raid on a small island in Nha Trang in South Vietnam.Kerrey was leading one of the two elements as they scaled a 350-foot sheer cliff so the Viet Cong wouldn't see them. As they descended on the other side and neared the camp, the enemy opened fire. A grenade exploded in front of Kerrey, and he suffered grievous injuries.Despite his wounds, Kerrey continued to lead his men and fight. Kerrey had the presence of mind at that critical point to coordinate with the second SEAL element and suppress the enemy.By the end of the battle, Kerrey was nearly unconscious from the loss of blood, but he continued to lead his men until he was evacuated by helicopter. His actions on that night saved many lives, and the intelligence gained by enemy prisoners was crucial to military planners.<h2>Mike Thornton</h2><div type="image" title="Medal of Honor Michael Thornton, Thomas Norris, Brian M. Thacker, and Harvey Barnum" height="739" width="985" msid="88344069" hostid="261"></div>Mike Thornton probably has the most unique story on this list. He received the Medal of Honor for saving another Medal of Honor recipient, Tom Norris, another SEAL on this list.In October 1972, Thornton was part of a joint US-South Vietnamese SEAL team that was conducting strategic reconnaissance close to the North Vietnamese shores.The small special-operations team was there to gather intelligence on enemy movements and numbers. The SEALs had been encouraged to capture prisoners if they were able do so.Once ashore, the SEALs encountered a large enemy force. They tried to exfiltrate, but enemy sentries saw them, and a running firefight ensued.Norris was wounded in the head, and the South Vietnamese assumed he was dead and left him. But Thornton ran back and carried him to the water edge, all while under fire.Then, a Vietnamese SEAL was also wounded, and Thornton carried him too. Finally, the team entered the water and swam to avoid certain death in the hands of hundreds of North Vietnamese. Thornton swam with his two wounded comrades for hours until a Navy warship picked them up.Thorton went on to have a successful career in Naval Special Warfare, becoming a plankowner of SEAL Team 6 in 1980.<h2>Tommy Norris</h2><div type="image" title="Medal of Honor Michael Thornton, Thomas Norris, Brian M. Thacker, and Harvey Barnum" height="896" width="1195" msid="88344070" hostid="261"></div>Six months before the mission with Thornton, Norris participated in a combat-search-and-rescue mission in North Vietnam.An EB-66 light bomber had been shot down, and a crew member who had highly classified knowledge of US missile systems was trying to evade capture with hundreds of North Vietnamese on his heels.The Air Force had lost five more aircraft trying to save him and decided to stop all sorties due to high casualties. While this happened, another pilot was downed and began evading capture in the area, complicating matters.Norris led a rescue party more than a mile into enemy territory in search of the downed airmen.After a stressful night and many near misses, they found and rescued the second pilot. By that point, eight days had passed since the first pilot ejected, and he was running out of strength.Norris and a South Vietnamese SEAL went in for one last attempt. After many hours and close calls, the two commandos found the pilot and used a captured enemy boat to escape to freedom.<h2>Mike Monsoor</h2><div type="image" title="Michael Monsoor" height="1216" width="1621" msid="88344071" hostid="261"></div>Monsoor was part of a joint SEAL-Iraqi sniper overwatch team on a rooftop in Ramadi in September 2006.The SEALs were providing cover fire and early warning for coalition troops on the ground. Insurgents mounted attacks on their position, but the SEAL snipers stopped them with accurate fire.The SEALs' effective fire drew the attention of the insurgents, who then attacked the SEALs on the rooftop with small arms and rocket-propelled grenades.Monsoor was standing ready for the attack when an unseen insurgent on the ground lobbed a grenade onto the rooftop. The grenade hit and bounced off of Monsoor's chest. The two other SEALs in the position were covering other sectors and unaware of what had happened.Monsoor was the only one who could have escaped the grenade, but he instead jumped on it, sacrificing himself to save his two teammates. He later died of his wounds.<h2>Mike Murphy</h2><div type="image" title="Navy SEAL Michael Murphy" height="599" width="799" msid="88344072" hostid="261"></div>The team leader of SEAL reconnaissance element during Operation Red Wings in Afghanistan in June 2005, Murphy and his team encountered a deadly dilemma.After the SEALs set up their observation post close to their insertion point and to a village, some shepherds discovered their position. After a debate among themselves, the SEALs decided to let the shepherds live and started exfiltrating the area.But the enemy was on their heels. Two SEALs were killed in the ensuing firefight, and because of the high mountains surrounding the valley, the SEALs couldn't contact their headquarters and alert them of their situation.So a wounded Murphy stepped into the open and used his satellite phone to notify his superiors. He suffered mortal wounds but completed the call while firing at the enemy, a last act of selfless valor that earned him the Medal of Honor.The last SEAL with the element, Marcus Luttrell, managed to survive after a days-long ordeal.<h2><keyword id="12758516" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="britt-slabinski" source="Orion">Britt Slabinski</keyword></h2><div type="image" title="Navy SEAL Britt Slabinski" height="603" width="803" msid="88344073" hostid="261"></div>In March 2002, then-Senior Chief Britt Slabinski received the Medal of Honor for his actions as a team leader at "Robert's Ridge" during Operation Anaconda in Afghanistan.A member of the elite Naval Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU) — formerly known as SEAL Team 6 — Slabinksi led his team on top of a mountain occupied by Al Qaeda fighters. Their MH-47G Chinook was peppered by gunfire as it approach, and one SEAL, Neil Roberts, fell off the helicopter and fought alone until he was killed.Another helicopter flew the team back to rescue Roberts but was again met by heavy fire. It was forced to land lower down the mountain, and Slabinski and his team fought their way up.At some point, Master Sgt. John Chapman, an Air Force combat controller, was wounded, and Slabinksi fought his way to him. Thinking Chapman was dead and under heavy enemy fire, Slabinksi fell back. Chapman, however, was still alive and continued to fight, even charging enemy bunkers, to the end.The circumstances of the battle of and of Chapman's death <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/24/us/politics/medal-of-honor-slabinski-trump.html" target="_top">caused</a><a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/24/us/politics/medal-of-honor-slabinski-trump.html" target="_top"> controversy</a> when Slabinski's Navy Cross was upgraded to the Medal of Honor. Chapman later received the Medal of Honor as well, becoming the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/john-chapman-heroics-in-first-medal-of-honor-on-video-2019-7" target="_top">first recipient to have his actions captured on video</a>.<h2>Edward Byers</h2><div type="image" title="Navy SEAL Edward Byers" height="600" width="800" msid="88344076" hostid="261"></div>Another DEVGRU SEAL and the most recent Medal of Honor recipient, then-Chief Edward Byers earned the award during a hostage-rescue operation in Afghanistan in 2012.As the SEALs approached the building in which an American hostage was being held, the enemy heard them. The commandos sprinted toward the building, and Byers, as the master breacher, attempted to tear away six heavy blankets were used as a door.The first SEAL into the building was mortally wounded by enemy fires. Byers then stormed into the building, killing one enemy fighter and then another in hand-to-hand combat. He then located the American hostage and jumped on him to prevent him from getting shot in the mayhem.While on top of the hostage, Byers attacked another enemy with his bare hands, restraining him until another SEAL killed him. New Delhi, Apr 1 () More and more companies, both public and private sector ones, are coming forward with their financial contributions and other support measures to help authorities and people fight Covid-19 in various parts of the country. The Centre and many state governments have launched separate emergency funds to secure donations for the fight against coronavirus pandemic. Two leading financial institution State Bank of India (SBI) and Life Insurance of India (LIC) pledged Rs 100 crore and Rs 105 crore respectively for Prime Minister''s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM CARES) Fund. Around 2.5 lakh employees have decided to contribute two days salary aggregating to about Rs 100 crore will be donated PM-CARES Fund. Out of the Rs 105 crore, Rs 5 crore has been donated from LIC's Golden Jubilee Fund, the state-owned company said in a statement. "India Infrastructure Finance Company Ltd (IIFCL) has made a contribution of Rs 25 crore to the PM-CARES Fund as its support towards strengthening Indiat's fight against COVID19," the company said in a tweet. IIFCL has given beyond the CSR fund by finding additional resources from some other heads. This is a national crisis and the response has to be extraordinary, a senior official of IIFCL said, adding the company has therefore gone beyond its CSR budget. Playing its part to fight the crisis, General Insurance Corporation of India donated Rs 22.69 crore to the Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM-CARES) Fund, it said in a release. The pension sector regulator Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has pledged to contribute a part of the employees' salary to the PM CARES Fund. PFRDA employees have decided to contribute part of their salary and it is committed to assist the government in its fight against the pandemic in India, the regulator said in a statment. Another public sector entity under the Finance Ministry, Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Ltd (SPMCIL) has contributed about Rs 2 crore to AIIMS Delhi for procurement of 45 ventilators, the most needed equipment to combat COVID-19. AU Small Finance Bank contributed Rs 5 crore for the relief work. It includes a contribution of Rs 2 crore to PM-CARES Fund; a contribution of Rs 51 lakh each to Delhi and Maharashtra Chief Minister relief funds and support provided to the Rajasthan government for a testing facility that was established in Bhilwara, one of the worst-hit districts in Rajasthan, the bank said in a statement. Besides, to combat the challenges posed by COVID-19, AU Bank is contributing over Rs 2 crore through its various CSR initiatives, it said. Policybazaar Group is supporting National Covid-19 helplines to address public inquiries about coronavirus, and voluntarily offered someof Call Centre employees to the National Health Authority (NHA), Ministry of Health &amp; Family Welfare. This is being done on a non-commercial basis. "The Ministry accepted our offer and agreed to make us the primary call centre for the Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand circles. Within 48 hours of receiving the go-ahead from the ministry, we were live with over 200 agents, each of them working remotely on their tabs or smartphones. "The team worked over the weekend, to ensure adequate training to agents, creating a customized CRM platform and integrating it with the ministry''s systems and standard protocols," Policybazaar said in a statement. Considering the huge call volumes witnessed, the company plans to ramp up capacity to over 400 agents in a week's time, it said. Standard Chartered Bank also announced its commitment to donate Rs 5 crore to support the fight against COVID-19 virus in India. Keeping with its philosophy of affecting a real change in the communities and to provide the much-needed impetus in fighting this common threat, the bank will be working with multiple non-government organisation (NGO) partners to provide relief to the vulnerable communities including the migrant workers, Standard Chartered Bank said in a statement. This activity will be undertaken across several parts of the country including major cities (Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai and Baroda) and rural areas (Sundarbans, Jaunpur, Tonk and Marathwada).
