At the women's 25m pistol qualification, Bhaker emerged as India's top performer keeping alive the prospects of a third medal.<br /><br />After the precision stage, Bhaker has been ranked second overall with a score of 590-24x, showcasing her strong form. Her compatriot, Esha Singh, finished 18th with a score of 581 points.<br /><br />The precision stage results highlight Bhaker's consistent shooting prowess, positioning her as a strong contender as the competition progresses. With her impressive performance so far, Bhaker is not only leading the Indian shooters but is also well-positioned to secure a medal. <br /><br />Notably, Bhaker has already earned two bronze medals in Paris, and she is now aiming to achieve an unprecedented third medal. Bhaker will compete in the 25 m pistol shooting event final which will start at 1 PM IST. <br /><br />The other shooters Anant Jeet Singh Naruka and Maheshwari Chauhan, Raiza Dhillon will be seen in action in their respective categories - Skeet Men's and Women's Qualification which will start from 12:30 PM IST. <br /><br />If Anant Jet Singh Naruja manages to qualify for the final, then his match will be at 7 PM IST. Women's archers Deepika Kumari and Bhajan Kaur will compete in the <keyword id="20417950" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Archery" source="keywords">Archery</keyword> Women's Individual - 1/8 event at 1:52 and 2:05 PM IST. If qualified, then they will take part in their quarterfinal match at 4:30 PM IST, the semi-final clash at 5:22 PM IST, and the final encounter at 6:16 PM IST. <ul><li> <keyword id="3111403" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Nethra-Kumanan">Nethra Kumanan</keyword> is the first-ever female sailor from India to qualify for sailing in the Olympics.</li><li>The discipline, hard work and dedication for sailing is something that the 22-year old learnt from the classical Indian dance, Bharatnatyam.</li><li>She has also dabbled in basketball, tennis and cycling before decided that sailing where she wanted to build a career.</li></ul>Nethra Kumanan isn’t just the first Indian woman sailor to compete in the Olympics, she’s also the first one to legitimately qualify. The nine Indians who have participated in sailing events at the Olympics before were called in to fill up quotas that could not be occupied, according to the <a href="https://www.olympicchannel.com/en/stories/features/detail/who-nethra-kumanan-indian-sailing-laser-radial/">Olympic Channel</a>.<br /><br />And, she did it with a borrowed boat. Kumanan told <a href="https://www.espn.in/olympics/story/_/id/31219458/with-borrowed-boat-wind-sails-nethra-kumanan-crafts-sailing-history-qualifying-tokyo-olympics">ESPN</a> that her boat had undergone serious damage during transit from Abu Dhabi’s port storage to Al Musannah Sports City in Oman as the Asian qualifiers were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. <br /><br />Instead, she had to borrow a boat from her teammate, Ram Milan Yadav. "He [Yadav] was nice enough to understand that at the end of the day, it was about one of us winning an Olympic berth and helpfully gave me his boat," Kumanan told ESPN. She was also into tennis, basketball and cycling. The one activity she loved, apart from sports, was Bharatanatyam.<br /><br />“Discipline, hard work and dedication are things I have learnt from the dance form and something that helps me even today,” Kumanan told the <a href="https://indianexpress.com/article/sports/sport-others/from-dancer-to-sailor-olympics-bound-nethra-kumanans-journey-7265160/">Indian Express</a>. But it was sailing that won out at the end of the day.<br /><br />Her first podium finish at an international event came in 2014 at the India International Regatta in Chennai. From there Kumanan went on to represent India at the 2014 and 2018 Asian Games. <br /><br />Last year, she first made history by becoming the first Indian to win a medal in sailing at the Hempel World Series in Miami, where she clinched a bronze. <ul><li><strong><keyword id="12512340" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jaswantiben-Jamnadas-Popat" source="Orion">Jaswantiben Jamnadas Popat</keyword> was conferred the Padma Shri award on Tuesday.</strong></li><li><strong>She is one of the founders of Shri Mahila Griha Udyog Lijjat Papad.</strong></li><li><strong>Jaswantiben began her journey with an investment of ₹80 along with six of her friends.</strong></li></ul>On March 15, 1959, Jaswantiben along with six of her friends met on a terrace in Girgaum, Maharashtra and started making papads, using a sum of ₹80, which were <a href="http://www.lijjat.com/Organisation/TheBeginning.aspx">borrowed</a> from Chhaganlal Karamshi Parekh, a social worker. <br /><br />Today, the brand is called Lijjat Papad, and it has grown to be a ₹1,600 crore business with 81 branches and employs over 45,000 women across the country, all of whom are considered co-owners in the enterprise.<br /><br />Recognising her journey, the Indian government gave the Padma Shri award, the fourth highest civilian award in the country, to the 91-year old entrepreneur.<br /><br />While most people may not recognise her by name, it is unlikely that you are unfamiliar with her product. She started making papads with Parvatiben Ramdas Thodani, Ujamben Narandas Kundalia, Banuben. N. Tanna, Laguben Amritlal Gokani, Jayaben V. Vithalani, and Chutadben Amish Gawadem.<br /><br />“Making papads does not require education, which is why we started Lijjat,” Jasnatiben says in an <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSz27aGjqog">interview</a>. “Everyone here is a partner and does not work for any other person, which was one of the factors that enabled women to join at the beginning,” she adds.<br /><br />  <div type="image" title="Lijjat Papad" msid="87648084" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Lijjat Papad&amp;#39;s logo.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div><br />“We do not require anyone to pay money, we do not check their caste or religion or do any background checks while adding a partner, where else will you find such a partnership business,” asks Jaswantiben.<br /><br />The group first made a batch of four packets of papads, which were sold to a businessman. Soon after that, the group increased from seven members to twenty-five and later the group registered as Shri Mahila Griha Udyog Lijjat Papad and in 1962, it was renamed to Lijjat Papad.<br /><br />The papads are sold across the country and even exported to countries like the United States, Singapore, United Kingdom, Thailand and Netherlands among others.<br /><br />Not just papads, now Lijjat also sells masalas, atta, chapati and even detergent. The organisation has also had its share of failures, such as cottage leather, match sticks and incense sticks, which had to be shut down.<br /><br />“The credit of Lijjat Papad goes to every woman working here. This recognition is the fruit of their hard work,” Jaswantiben said while speaking to <a href="https://www.shethepeople.tv/top-stories/inspiration/jaswantiben-jamnadas-popat-lijjat-papad/">SheThePeople</a> after being awarded the Padma Shri.<br /><br />Jaswantiben-led Lijjat Papad believes in the principle of self-reliance and does not accept any donations or contributions. So, two years ago, we ideated that we should come up with a long format production house and that’s how BBkiVines Productions came into being,” said Raj.<br /><br />The merchandise line Youthiapa is also built on Bam’s characters and their popular one-liners. “We only sell it through our own e-commerce platform, and we design, produce and market it ourselves,” said Raj.<br /><br />While they didn’t share details of how the e-commerce brand has grown and the number of orders, they claim that they have ‘a couple of lakh’ customers solely by using Bam’s social media presence as marketing.<br /><br /><cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="How do they choose brands?" comment="subhead" text="How do they choose brands?"><span data-til="noop">How do they choose brands?</span></cmsannotation><br /><br />Both of them laughingly admit that they used to work in their pyjamas, even before the work-from-home life started. While Bam is the brain behind the content he produces, Raj is the man who gets the business going. <br /><br />And both of them admit that it’s important for a content creator or <keyword id="1864633" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Influencer">influencer</keyword> to also think about the financial aspects of their business. “A content creator must think about the financial aspect of his work, the brands that are coming in. It’s important you realise this early. Don’t fool yourself. But obviously don’t neglect the creative process. If I can create content, build a market for it and also look at the finances, then I’m an all-round artist. All three aspects are very important,” said Bam. <br /><br />But just making money wasn’t what they had in mind. Raj works on aligning Bam’s content and the brands that come their way. “In the first one year of us working together, we went for a lot of commercial meetings but we didn’t convert all of them into business. We were clear about the brands we want to associate with or the way we wish to integrate these brands with Bhuvan’s videos. We wanted to keep it organic, we don’t go and hunt for work” he said.<br /><br /><cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Working with new laws and taxes" comment="subhead" text="Working with new laws and taxes"><span data-til="noop">Working with new laws and taxes</span></cmsannotation><br /><br />YouTube had <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/tech/news/youtube-will-begin-deducting-us-taxes-from-payments-to-creators-as-early-as-june-2021-for-creators-outside-of-the-us/articleshow/81443725.cms">recently said</a> that for its creators in India and outside of the US, its parent Google said that it would begin deducting US taxes from payments to creators as early as June 2021 from creators outside of the US.<br /><br />Earnings from viewers in the US through ad views, YouTube Premium, Super Chat, Super Stickers, and Channel Memberships will be taxable.<br /><br />However, while they await more clarity Raj said that the taxation won’t be on the entire YouTube revenue. “For an Indian creator whatever money they are making out of the US, there will be a 24% deduction on that amount. So for people creating content in Hindi the damage will be lesser,” he said.<br /><br />But that’s not it. The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) has released draft guidelines for the influencer community, which requires them to demarcate sponsored content clearly.<br /><br />But Bam isn’t worried about it, in fact he encourages the new guidelines. “As long as creators don't mislead the audience it’s fine. Many times people have posted things just to get people to click on it or visit a website.
