At 7:40 am, the SGX Nifty was down 0.28%, indicating a slow start for Nifty50. On Monday, the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/stock-market/news/us-stocks-slip-as-surging-virus-cases-lead-to-new-lockdowns/articleshow/79610953.cms">US stocks also declined as a surge in COVID-19</a> cases across the country led to renewed lockdown orders. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 0.49% lower, and the S&amp;P 500 was down 0.19%. These are the stocks to watch out for during the trading session today: Canara Bank Canara Bank has set a floor price of ₹103.50 per share for its qualified institutional placement (QIP) to raise up to ₹2,000 crore. The bank sought its shareholders’ nod during the annual general meeting, held in August, for raising up to ₹2,000 crore by way of QIP. The shares of Canara Bank ended 6% higher on Monday. Titan Company The Tata Group company, Titan said its board has decided to scale down the operations of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Favre Leuba AG (FLAG), with immediate effect. Titan said that it has been continuously supporting FLAG, and has made a series of investments. However, the current COVID-19 pandemic has severely impacted the revival plans and prospects. The shares of Titan Company ended 0.65% lower on Monday. NBCC State-owned construction firm National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) in a regulatory filing said it had bagged a contract worth ₹325 crore last month. The shares of NBCC ended 3% higher on Monday. HCC HCC defaults on loan payment worth ₹1,836.1 crore. The shares of HCC ended 4% higher on Monday. Sun Pharma The promoter of Sun Pharma, Shanghvi Finance, pledged 10 lakh shares on December 3 in favour of Deutsche Investments India as a security for the loan availed by a subsidiary company. The shares of Sun Pharma ended 2% higher on Monday. Coffee Day Enterprises Malavika Hegde, the wife of late VG Siddhartha Hegde, has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Coffee Day Enterprises from December 7. The shares of Coffee Day Enterprises are suspended from the Indian stock exchanges. Gujarat State Fertilizers &amp; Chemicals The additional chief secretary to the government, urban development and urban housing department, Mukesh Puri has been appointed as the managing director of Gujarat State Fertilizers &amp; Chemicals. The shares of Gujarat State Fertilizers &amp; Chemicals ended 4% higher on Monday. Goa Carbon Goa Carbon said its production in November was up 59% at 14,309.200 MT as against 9,006.000 MT in October. The shares of Goa Carbon ended 1% lower on Monday. Top stocks to watch — RIL, Future Retail, BPCL, Wipro, L&T, and others

New Delhi, Dec 18 () Reliance Industries has emerged as the biggest wealth creator during 2014-19 by adding Rs 5.6 lakh crore of wealth, according to a study.
 The top-100 wealth creators generated Rs 49 lakh crore during 2014-19, the highest-ever quantum of wealth added, according to Motilal Oswal's Annual Wealth Creation Study 2019.
 "After a gap of 7 years, Reliance Industries has once again emerged the biggest wealth creator over 2014-19. A total of Rs 5.6 lakh crore wealth created by Reliance is the highest-ever so far by a huge margin," it added.
 According to the study that was released on Wednesday, Reliance Industries, Indiabulls Ventures and IndusInd Bank are the biggest, fastest and most-consistent wealth creators, respectively.
 Indiabulls Ventures is the fastest wealth creator for the second time in a row, with stock returns at a whopping 78 per cent compound annual growth rate (CAGR).
 The study added that Bajaj Finance has the unique distinction of being in the top-10 biggest as well as fastest wealth creators.
 Also, IndusInd Bank is the most-consistent wealth creator by recording the highest CAGR of 49 per cent over the 10-year period of 2009-19.
 During 2014-19, Sensex's CAGR was only 12 per cent but the pace of wealth creation was at 22 per cent CAGR.
 "This reinforces the point that wealth creation happens in all kinds of market conditions," it said.
 The study by the financial services company further added that the financial sector has emerged as India's biggest wealth-creating sector over 2014-19 for the third consecutive year.
 The surge in wealth creation in the sector has been led by private banks and non-banking financial companies (NBFCs).
 Public sector undertakings' (PSUs) wealth creation performance remained weak during 2014-19. The number of PSUs in the top-100 wealth creators is only nine, namely IOC, BPCL, HPCL, Power Grid Corporation, Petronet LNG, Indraprastha Gas, LIC Housing, Bharat Electronics and NBCC.
 The total wealth destroyed during 2014-19 is Rs 8.6 lakh crore. Similar to last year's study, the financial sector has the unusual distinction of being the biggest wealth creator thanks to private banks and NBFCs and also the second biggest wealth destroyer thanks to state-owned banks.
 The Motilal Oswal's Annual Wealth Creation Study 2019 analyses the top-100 wealth-creating companies.
 Wealth created is calculated as change in the market capitalisation of companies between 2014 and 2019, duly adjusted for corporate events such as mergers, de-mergers, fresh issuance of capital, and buyback, among others. The top three stocks in last five years — Reliance Industries, Indiabulls Ventures, and IndusInd Bank

New Delhi, Dec 18 () Shares of Jaypee Infratech on Wednesday zoomed nearly 10 per cent after its Committee of Creditors (CoC) approved NBCC's bid to acquire the company under insolvency process.
 Shares of Jaypee Infratech closed 9.88 per cent higher at Rs 1.78 apiece on the BSE.
 On the NSE also, the stock rallied 9.09 per cent to close at Rs 1.80.
 The stock closed on upper price band on the BSE and the NSE.
 More than one crore shares of Jaypee Infratech were traded on the NSE and over 28 lakh units on the BSE.
 Shares of NBCC (India) also rose 0.14 per cent to Rs 35.30 on the BSE and 0.14 per cent to Rs 35.30 on the NSE.
 In terms of volume, over 1.7 crore shares exchanged hands on the NSE and 7.25 lakh on the BSE.
 Jaypee Infratech's financial creditors, including lenders and homebuyers, approved the bid of state-owned NBCC to acquire the debt-laden realty firm under insolvency process, according to sources.
 Jaypee Infratech, a subsidiary of crisis-hit Jaiprakash Associates, went into insolvency process in August 2017 after the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) admitted an application by an IDBI Bank-led consortium. RUJ SHW

Jaypee Infra jumps nearly 10 pc on lenders' nod for NBCC bid

Expectations were high for increased deduction limits on home loan interest repayments, higher principal repayment deductions, and more robust incentives for first-time homebuyers. Any boost to this vital segment is therefore welcome.” As per December 2023 reports, 65% of houses under PMAY-Urban had been completed and delivered to beneficiaries since the scheme was introduced in 2015. This amounts to over 78 lakh pucca houses out of the 1.18 crore sanctioned. VGF is a scheme that helps support important infrastructure projects that may not be financially viable, through grants that total up to 20% of the total project cost. Budget 2024: More affordable housing, lowered rent TDS — here’s what will change for the housing sector this year

New Delhi, Jan 27 () The government is planning to raise at least Rs 10,000 crore through the seventh tranche of CPSE ETF which will open for anchor investors on Thursday.
 Central Public Sector Enterprises ETF runs a concentrated portfolio with a handful of stocks having weights of as high as 20 per cent on the underlying index. The portfolio is concentrated towards the energy and oil sector.
 The issue will open for anchor investors on Thursday and for other institutional and retail investors, the next day-- Nippon Life India Asset Management-- which has been mandated to manage the CPSE ETF on behalf of the government, said in a statement.
 Besides, the investors would get a 3 per cent discount over the issue price, it added.
 The sixth FFO (further follow on offer) or seventh tranche will have a base issue size of Rs 10,000 crore with a greenshoe option to retain a portion of the oversubscription.
 Retail investors can invest a minimum of Rs 5,000, while non-institutional investors and qualified institutional buyers (other than anchor investors) can invest a minimum of Rs 2 lakh. The minimum investment for anchor investor is fixed at Rs 10 crore.
 The decision to launch seventh tranche of CPSE Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) has been taken after receiving robust response for earlier stake sale by the government in the product.
 Through the earlier six tranches of the CPSE ETF, the government has already raised about Rs 50,000 crore; Rs 3,000 crore from the first tranche in March 2014, Rs 6,000 crore in January 2017, Rs 2,500 crore from the third in March 2017, Rs 17,000 crore in November 2018 and Rs 10,000 crore in March 2019 and Rs 11,500 crore in July 2019.
 Nippon Life India Asset Management, formerly known as Reliance Nippon Life Asset Management, had already filed 'scheme information document' for sixth FFO of CPSE ETF with markets regulator Sebi.
 The CPSE ETF tracks shares of 11 CPSEs -- ONGC, NTPC, Coal India, IOC, REC, PFC, Bharat Electronics, Oil India, NBCC India, NLC India and SJVN.
 The proceeds from the ETF will help the government meet its disinvestment target of Rs 1.05 lakh crore for the current financial year. It had aimed to garner Rs 85,000 crore through disinvestment in the preceding financial year. SP SHW
