Perhaps that is why we are receiving a lot of support and the medal tally is improving and we won 29 medals. I am gifting my spikes, that I used while sprinting, to him," Simran said. Star para javelin-thrower Sumit Antil said that PM Modi has motivated them in the past. "The entire contingent is very happy and excited. He motivated us in the past and today we will come back motivated for our upcoming events. The way in which he supports the athletes, it feels like a family. Meeting him feels good...," Antil said. The Indian contingent concluded its Paralympics campaign in Paris on Sunday with a record haul of 29 medals, including seven golds, nine silvers, and 13 bronzes. The 29-medal tally is the most by India in the history of the Paralympics. Following the conclusion of the landmark campaign, India surpassed its record medal tally of 19, which was achieved at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. India ended the marquee event in the 18th position.

In the trailer of her maiden production venture <keyword id="1589411" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="NH10">NH10</keyword> that released today, Anushka can be seen sporting a rugged, bloody look with weapons in hand and expletives on tongue. 
 
A few months ago, we reported that Anushka Sharma has become the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Young-Indian-Actors-Who-Turned-Producers/articleshow/35672735.cms">youngest Indian actress</a> to turn a producer with her production house Clean Slate Productions, which she owns with her brother Karnesh. The first movie to be helmed by this sibling duo is NH10, directed by Navdeep Singh and co-produced by Phantom Films. 
 
The trailer of the movie has been launched today, and those who have grown used to of watching Anushka do bubbly, girl-next-door roles will be in for a shock. In the first few scenes, Anushka and her co-star Neil Bhopalam share a nice chemistry and can be seen trying to get out of the traps of some local goons. Playing the leader of the goons is Darshan Kumaar, whom we all remember as Onler, Mary Kom's supportive husband in the bio-pic of the same name. 
 
What has increased our interest in the film is the fierceness that Anushka shows in the latter parts of the trailer. A lady on a vengeance mission, she can be seen carrying an iron rod and a gun to save her skin and get the revenge for the love of her life.

BCCI announced India's Test squad and India's ODI squad for the West Indies tour

A resurgent Kolkata Knight Riders will look for their third victory in a row in their fight for survival when they face a struggling Rajasthan <keyword id="6418563" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="royals" source="Orion">Royals</keyword> in the IPL here on Thursday. Facing must-win scenarios, the two-time champions showed tremendous resilience to bounce back into reckoning after their wins over Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings, both in dramatic last-ball finishes. The wins have not only boosted their sagging morale but also taken the side to sixth place from eighth on the points table. As things stand, four teams including <keyword id="6354544" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="kkr" source="Orion">KKR</keyword> and Rajasthan Royals, are locked on 10 points in a mid-table traffic rush for the playoffs. RR may be ahead on net run rate (NRR) but the equation could change quickly if KKR continue their winning run, as a victory for either side will take them into the top-four. While KKR are high on confidence after two thrilling wins, the Royals - last season's runners-up - would be at their lowest ebb after three defeats. The Royals had posted 200-plus totals but were done in by some baffling strategies in two of their three losses, which has led to a must-win scenario for them as well. In terms of key battles and team strategies, KKR would once again rely on Varun Chakravarthy, who has been the central character in both their previous wins. Having defended nine runs in the last over against SRH, Chakravarthy's 3/26 made all the difference against Punjab Kings. The remaining three who tested positive for the virus are non-playing members -- fielding coach T Dilip, security liaison officer B Lokesh and masseur Rajeev Kumar. "The All-India Senior Selection Committee has added Mayank Agarwal to India's ODI squad after seven members, including three players of Team India (Senior Men) tested positive for COVID-19 following three rounds of RT-PCR testing," BCCI secretary Jay Shah said in a statement. The Indian team assembled in Ahmedabad on January 31 for the upcoming white-ball series against the West Indies and were going through a three-day isolation period post their break from the South Africa series. The series starts in Ahmedabad on February 6 with India's 1000th ODI match but it is now a foregone conclusion that the trio will be missing the series as they will have to undergo a week-long isolation and then return with two negative RT-PCR tests. Shah gave a lowdown of the sequence of positive cases in the India camp. "Opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan and fast bowler Navdeep Saini's (standby player) RT-PCR tests conducted on Monday (January 31st) have returned positive results,' Shah stated in the release. "Fielding Coach T. Dilip and Security Liaison Officer B. Lokesh's RT-PCR tests conducted on Monday (January 31st) have returned positive results. Batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad's RT-PCR test conducted on Tuesday (February 1st) has returned a positive result. He had tested negative during the first round of testing on Monday," the release further stated. "Batsman Shreyas Iyer and Sports Massage Therapist Rajeev Kumar's RT-PCR tests conducted on Wednesday (February 2nd) have returned positive results. Both had tested negative in the first two rounds of testing." The BCCI medical team is handling the positive cases and the infected persons will remain in isolation till complete recovery is attained. "The players are largely asymptomatic and hopefully will be fine by the end of the isolation period. You feel bad for Shikhar as he might have to miss the series and he is not a part of T20 squad," an official said. Even more disappointing is young Ruturaj Gaikwad's case as this is the second time in one and a half years that he has tested positive for COVID-19. "If you remember, Ruturaj had tested positive in UAE during the 2020 IPL and went through hell. He had a 14-day quarantine back then and missed first part of the season in the Emirates. This is the second time he has tested positive," the official added. It is confirmed that captain Rohit Sharma, senior players like Virat Kohli and coach Rahul Dravid have all tested negative as of Wednesday. "They have returned negative as of today." All those who tested negative will complete their mandatory isolation on Thursday. They will enter the bubble, if they test negative again on Thursday. "The testing protocol set by BCCI medical team is for every day RT-PCR as RAT (Rapid Antigen Test) is often not conclusive. Although teams are supplied with RAT kits in case any player shows symptoms and wants to do a self test," the official said. It is expected that M Shahrukh Khan, R Sai Kishore, Rishi Dhawan, who are stand byes for the series, will now get a look-in to be in the squad. As far as Rohit Sharma's opening partner is concerned, Mayank's inclusion makes it clear that team management is not looking at Ishan Kishan or Venkatesh Iyer for the slot. It must be noted that all the players had tested negative in RT-PCR when they embarked on their journey to Ahmedabad from their respective cities. "The members were asked to report in Ahmedabad on 31st January 2022 for the upcoming three-match ODI and T20I series against West Indies. Every member was also asked to undergo an RT-PCR test at home before embarking on their journey to Ahmedabad and the travel was undertaken only after testing negative," the BCCI said. India vs West Indies ODI: Seven Indian team members test positive including Shikhar Dhawan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Shreyas Iyer

M Prasidh Krishna has received a maiden call-up to the Indian squad for their upcoming three-match ODI series against England. The 18-member squad, which was announced on Friday, also includes Suryakumar Yadav, who made his international debut in the five-match T20I series and scored a match-winning half century in the fourth T20I. Krishna took 14 wickets at an average of 22.21 in the Vijay Hazare Trophy to help Karnataka to the semi-finals, where they lost to eventual champions Mumbai. All-rounder Washington Sundar, who played his only ODI match against Sri Lanka in December 2017, has been included in the team. Fellow all-rounder Krunal Pandya also finds a place. Pandya is yet to play an ODI match and his last international game was a T20I against Bangladesh in November 2019. Fast bowler T Natarajan, who missed the T20I series due to a niggle, has been included. Natarajan played in the third ODI during the Australia tour on December 2 and took two wickets to help India to a 13-run win. By Gurdip Singh Singapore, Jun 15 () A Singapore court on Monday imposed a fine of over USD 1,400 on an Indian student for attending a gathering at a rented apartment, in violation of the country's "circuit breaker" rules enforced to contain the spread of the coronavirus. Bhullar Jasteena, 23, pleaded guilty to the offence under the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) Act. For committing the offence under the Act, first-time offenders can be jailed for up to six months and fined up to SGD 10,000 (USD 7,163). Repeat offenders can be jailed for up to a year and fined up to SGD 20,000 (USD 14,326). Jasteena was among the 10 Indian students who had gathered at the apartment on Kim Keat Road on May 5, during the COVID-19 "circuit breaker" period when it was illegal in the country to have guests at one's household or to meet other people for social purposes. Earlier this month, nine of the students had pleaded guilty to similar charges and penalties ranging between SGD 2,500 (USD 1,782) and SGD 4,500 (USD 3,208) were imposed on them. The court imposed a fine of SGD 2,000 (USD 1,433) on Jasteena, The Straits Times reported. Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Stephanie Koh said Avinash Kaur, 27, Navdeep Singh, 20, and Sajandeep Singh, 21, were living in the three-bedroom rented apartment. On May 5, Navdeep and Sajandeep invited six of their male friends. Kaur also invited Jasteena to the unit so that they could study together. She arrived at around 11:30 am and remained in Kaur's room. The court was told that the police were alerted about an altercation at the unit by an unidentified person. When the police arrived at the spot at around 1 pm, they found the offenders there. The court documents did not reveal details about the tiff. DPP Koh told the court that even though Jasteena spent only 80 minutes in the unit, her visit did not have an "agreed end time" and would likely have continued had the police not gone there. The DPP also said that Jasteena had met Kaur for a "frivolous and completely unnecessary purpose in blatant disregard of the social distancing measures that the rest of society has taken pains to comply with". Navdeep and Sajandeep were each fined SGD 4,500 (USD 3,208). Their guests, Arpit Kumar, 27, Karmjit Singh, 20, Mohammed Imran Pasha, 26, Sharma Lukesh, 21, Vijay Kumar, 20, and Waseem Akram, 33, were each fined SGD 2,500 (USD 1,782). Kaur was fined SGD 3,500 (USD 2,496). In another incident, a 30-year old Singaporean woman of Indian-origin was fined SGD 5,000 (USD 3,581) for several offences, including leaving her house twice to meet her boyfriend during the COVID-19 "circuit breaker" period. Renukha Arumugam was fined on Monday after being charged with five counts under the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) Act 2020, the Channel News Asia reported. The charges are meeting individuals not from her household for a social purpose, two counts of leaving her house without a reasonable excuse and one count of not wearing a mask properly when outside. According to the charge sheet, Renukha left her house on three occasions: twice to meet her boyfriend and a third time to meet a friend. She was also accused of not wearing her mask over her nose and mouth at the entrance of a car park while meeting her boyfriend. The "circuit-breaker" period began on April 7 as part of which all non-essential work places were closed and residents were barred from leaving their house except to buy food and groceries or to exercise alone in the neighbourhood. It ended on June 2. Businesses that operate in settings with low transmission risks were allowed to reopen. Full hairdressing services, motor vehicle servicing, air conditioning servicing, printing, basic pet services and education bookshops and limited school activities have been allowed to resume as part of phase-1 of the reopening.
