While speaking at the CII Partnership Summit, Nokia Corporation President and CEO <keyword id="4324516" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="pekka-lundmark" source="Orion">Pekka Lundmark</keyword> said that India will be one of the key winners based on the developments happening around the world. "What I believe is really impressive is the way India has been systematically building the digital ecosystem. Now the most ambitious and the fastest by a big margin 5G rollout in the world, these are our building blocks for the future economic growth in any country and India is really taking a lead in this respect," Lundmark said. He said that India is now the second biggest market for Nokia and the company is exporting 5G base stations from here to other parts of the world. "The next big thing in India will be industrial digitalization, manufacturing industry 4.0 and the opportunity to use this platform that you've been building to attract more and more manufacturing, and also very importantly R&amp;D to the country," Lundmark said. Ericsson, President and CEO, Borje Ekholm said 4G helped build digital companies in the US and China like Facebook, Tencent etc and with rapid 5G rollout India will have the most modern digital infrastructure. "We saw all the big consumer applications developing over the last few years. We have seen them develop in the two countries that built out the first 4G networks in the world. That happened to be the United States and it happened to be China. Almost all jobs in the consumer sector or digitalized in the consumer were created there. "With 5G, we're going to digitize society and those jobs will be created in the country where the digital infrastructure is built first. With the pace India is building out 5G, it will have the most modern digital infrastructure in the world," Ekholm said. Both Ericsson and Nokia pitched for the world to follow a global standard to keep the cost of technology lower otherwise it will hurt economies of scale, digital inclusion of rural masses and the global economy. General Atlantic (India), Managing Director, Sandeep Naik said that India is a top-growing economy and foreign direct investment worth USD 100 billion is estimated to flow in India over the next 10 years. "In terms of private capital entering India, we did around USD 40 billion in 2021, I see that easily going over USD 100 billion in the next five years. I think that is a conservative number in terms of private capital coming into the country. As General Atlantic, we will have a fair share of that market," Naik said. This was the time when television was slowly becoming more popular and people were slowly moving from radio to the visually attractive video medium. Fast forward 43 years and Radio has turned out to be one of the most resilient mediums. Radio has not just survived the coming in of television but also more technologically advanced audio devices be it our Walkmans and CDs, to now even audio streaming app. It has been the ultimate survivor that has evolved with the dynamic changes in consumer behavior and has adapted well to the changing times. While the pandemic led to an obvious drop in ad volumes on the medium, things are slowly on the path to recovery. Collaborating with these platforms opened many industry doors for us, sparking the idea of perfect amalgamation of radio and digital which gave rise to a host of opportunities to distribute content to a global audience. Entering the Web Radio space through digitalization, we forayed into the digital radio space via a touchpoint like BRO – BIG Radio Online. We also entered the podcast space as a prime example of a radio network taking the next big step towards becoming an audio entertainment company,” he added. In fact, Big FM also launched its social commerce platform BIG Living last year, to build a stronger connect with its consumers. The past few years have brought about a sea change in consumer needs and preferences and for the medium, the task has not just been to understand this evolution but also to change with it. “As listeners have evolved in respect to their content consumption choices, we have consistently strived to produce a full-fledged package that includes viable content, good music, and wholesome entertainment on radio as well as on our digital platforms. We were the first ones to adapt to the digital medium and launched our first internet radio station 11 years back. We have grown to provide 18 online radio stations, each with its own distinct and relatable regional programming content. We are seeing favorable <keyword id="35666" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="advertising" source="Orion">advertising</keyword> sentiments for radio as we continue to emerge as a pioneering force in the Indian radio space and expand our digital capabilities,” shared <keyword id="3148434" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ashit-kukian" source="Orion">Ashit Kukian</keyword>, Chief Executive Officer, Radio City. However, what has continued to keep the medium relevant is keeping consumers at the core of everything they do, said <keyword id="2688166" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="nisha-narayanan" source="Orion">Nisha Narayanan</keyword>, Director &amp; COO, RED FM and Magic FM. “The audience has a wide spectrum of entertainment options available today. Customization is the key word today where each one wants to be in his own space and enjoy the entertainment. For giving the most to our consumers, we are constantly in sync with their aspirations and needs. We strive to provide our listeners with a wholesome experience built over Radio, Digital, on-ground events and IPs and a wide array of content in the formats of podcasts, indie music and user-generated content creation and dissemination,” she shared. Putting the best foot forward for advertisers With evolving consumer needs, the expectations of advertisers have also evolved. While ensuring the medium puts its best foot forward for its listeners over the years, a lot of work has also gone behind coming up with robust advertising solutions for advertisers. Talking about why radio continues to be a strong advertising medium, Anupama Singh, Consultant – Content Management, Carat India, “Radio as a medium, at one end of the spectrum, works as the last mile reminder medium and at the other end, helps the marketers to reach the audiences in the media dark areas, where electricity/literacy can be a challenge. The privatisation of Radio in 2001 opened a lot of opportunities to the marketers- large and small. For large marketers, radio helps to build frequency and hyper-local targeting. For retailers, it is a cost-effective medium that helps them reach their audience with the least spillover.” So how has the medium been working on giving robust solutions to advertisers? Talking about the kind of solutions they have been working on providing, Narayanan said, “We never believed in offering vanilla solutions as radio offers opportunities to innovate and micro target at the city levels. With our RJs being influencers in their own way, we firmly believe that a good solution, coupled with its delivery are equally important.” She further ads that their approach has always been to offer integrated solutions comprising of multimedia platforms. “We are also collaborating with many of them in designing their creatives through audio and video, besides taking care of other communication needs. Integrated multimedia campaigns and on ground, digital podcast productions for the clients are something that we take up as customized projects,” explained Narayanan. Today, it is all about coming up with bigger and better solutions for advertisers, said Panday. “We used to house our digital products within Solutions in the past. We are now carving digital products out of Solutions. With our platform launch in international markets, we will start aggregating audiences on our own platform. This will give us unprecedented insights on our consumers, something that has been missing on FM radio and even external platforms. We will also finally have our own digital inventory to offer to advertisers. Therefore, a whole lot of action can be expected from Solutions and Digital. Together, we expect this to grow from one-third to half of our revenues in the near future. FM radio may grow at 6-8% in the years ahead, but Solutions and Digital can grow at 15-18% CAGR for many years to come,” he said. What the future looks like As a medium, Radio has a huge potential. It is an interactive medium that holds its listeners’ attention by offering socially-viable content and enhanced on-air properties. The medium’s digital platforms have become another consumer touchpoint. Moreover, most radio stations have powerful influencers in their RJs who have been able to build a deep connect with their listeners on various social media platforms making them strong voices in the industry. However, with consumers wanting to access content according to their own convenience, one of the biggest challenges for traditional radio was the fact that it could bit be accessed on-demand. “However, to address this, the radio industry is now transforming themselves into an audio entertainment company by venturing into podcasts, videos through web radio, and social content for the modern generations who want content at their fingertips at all times. The change in consumption patterns has given rise to a new trend in the radio industry with digitalization being the new trend,” said Thomas. On what is feels need to be done to ensure the medium stays relevant even in the future, Kukian said, “There needs to be a true amalgamation of traditional and new-age medium with radio being the core. Within the world of digital, Radio as a platform provides a direct emotional connect with the audience. In today’s time, radio is not confined to just on-air audio content, but has also moved to online platforms and this phenomenon is only bound to grow as we move forward. Therefore, integrating radio with digital viz ‘Radigitalization’ a term coined by me, is going to play a central role for the radio industry in the future.” Sharing a similar thought, Singh added, “Using innovative content formats on digital platforms such as podcasts and partnering with various music platforms like Spotify and Gaana to market their content going forward, is what the future for radio looks like.” Private FM stations worldwide have been fast moving from analog to digital globally and the future could look very different. HD Radio from Xperi Corporations that offers Digital Radio Technology for Radio Stations, Car Radio System, Mobile and any device which has radio built in services has successfully conducted a trial to provide digital radio technology for FM frequencies with All India Radio (AIR) recently. World Radio Day 2022: How the Radio industry is paving the way for its next phase of growth

Presently, around 23 per cent of <keyword id="75190" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="nestle" source="Orion">Nestle</keyword> <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword>'s workforce are women, its Chairman and Managing Director <keyword id="2691730" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="suresh-narayanan" source="Orion">Suresh Narayanan</keyword> said on Monday. "We moved a fair degree on this. When I came to Nestle India in 2015, at that time we were at about 15-16 per cent. We have moved now to 23 per cent," Narayanan told reporters at a virtual media roundtable. Nestle India, which currently operates eight plants in the country and will soon commission the ninth, employs over 7,700 people. "That is not the end, we would like to do much better than this. And in fact last year in 2020, 42 per cent of all the recruitment that we did within the company were women candidates and it is a trend that is continuing this year as well," Narayanan added. At Nestle's new plant in Sanand, Gujarat, which will manufacture its range of popular instant noodles <keyword id="6369404" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="maggi" source="Orion">Maggi</keyword>, 62 per cent of the employees would be female. "One of the epitomes of diversity for the company would be getting commissioned in the next few weeks. Our factory in Sanand is almost near completion. 62 per cent of the Sanand factory workforce would be women," he said. Nestle is investing around Rs 700 crore in the Sanand plant. Besides, Narayanan said Nestle India has invested about Rs 300 crore so far on augmenting capacity of its existing plants. This is part of its earlier announced plans to invest Rs 2,600 crore in the next three-four years. Nestle India has also submitted proposals for the government's Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for the food processing sector. However, he did not divulge any details. <ul><li>In our latest interview series, we talk to brands to understand how they are coping with the new normal and their strategies towards navigating these difficult times.</li><li>In today’s interview, Shoma Narayanan, Executive Director- Strategic Marketing &amp; Communications, <keyword id="133737" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="DBS-Bank">DBS Bank</keyword> India, tells us about their key learnings from the Covid-19 experience so far, a few tips on how to help consumers deal with today’s challenges, and how they are becoming digital-first to connect with their audience. </li></ul>After the COVID-19 outbreak came to India and slowly started spreading across the country, banks were forced to work at limited capacities, while trying to cater to the essential needs of their customers. However, as market forces and consumer behaviour continue to evolve and unemployment increases day-by-day, it is important for marketers to be agile and keep recalibrating their strategy. Applying a few learning from its fellow markets in Asia, DBS Bank was quick to see the writing on the wall. Earlier, it was using an integrated approach to marketing its brand communications. Albeit, in light of the spreading virus, it has shifted all its marketing monies to digital and is replugging some of its old content to keep engaging with its consumers. There is a lot of uncertainty and anxiety around -- the safety of one's family, public health care, and long-term economic impact are some of the key concerns in people's minds. DBS bank is, therefore, using its communications tools to help its audience navigate these challenges. We caught up with Shoma Narayanan, Executive Director- Strategic Marketing &amp; Communications, DBS Bank India to further understand how they are building a connect with their consumers at a time they are scared to step out of their homes, how is the brand doing its bit to help the society and a few learnings that she has picked on her way in these unprecedented days. Excerpts: Q) How have the past few weeks been for the brand, considering the country has been in a lockdown? These are extremely challenging times and with banking being an essential service, our top priority as an organization is to safeguard customers and colleagues while continuing to fully support client needs. We have a wide range of digital solutions that allow both retail and corporate customers to bank from the comfort and safety of their homes. Our branches remain open with extensive safety measures in place to support physical transactions. DBS has also partnered with Bharti AXA to roll out a health insurance plan covering medical conditions including Covid-19. Additionally, we have launched a series of Covid-19 relief measures to help strengthen healthcare infrastructure and support vulnerable communities such as daily wage earners. Q) What is your marketing strategy right now? How have you been trying to continue building a connect with your audience? Consumers are facing more uncertainty today than ever before. Their family's safety and overall public health are primary concerns and there are worries around long-term economic impact. Our marketing strategy therefore focuses on reassuring customers of our support, sharing relevant and useful content and encouraging them to use digital modes of banking as much as possible. While speaking to customers, we found that many of them were keen on helping people less fortunate than themselves, and were not sure how they could do this during a lockdown. We partnered with The Akshaya Patra Foundation to run a programme under which our customers could donate meals to daily wage earners who have been severely impacted. For every donation made by a customer, DBS is making a matching contribution of double the amount, thereby tripling the impact. We have received a higher than expected response to this campaign, and it has helped us strengthen our connect with customers as well as a wider audience. Q) If the lockdown is further extended, will you be tweaking your marketing strategy further? We follow an agile approach, and our marketing strategy will evolve to meet the needs of the situation at hand. Q) How is your brand making a difference in spreading awareness/contributing in whichever way you can? DBS recently launched the ‘DBS Stronger Together Fund’ to provide help to Covid-19 affected communities across its six key markets, namely Singapore, Hong Kong, China, India, Indonesia and Taiwan. In India, DBS is partnering with United Way, Metropolis Labs and others to help scale up public health infrastructure, provide medical supplies and equipment, and sponsor free testing for the underprivileged. DBS is also working with organisations such as Pratham, Akshaya Patra and United Way to provide the equivalent of 2 million meals (in the form of food supplies and pre-packaged meals) to daily wage earners whose earnings have been affected by the temporary closure of factories and workplaces. We plan to roll out more such initiatives in the coming months. Q) TV viewership and digital engagement continue to increase, where are you betting your money? In normal circumstances, we have found that an integrated approach across TV, outdoor and digital gives us the best results. Right now, most of our spends are focused on digital and social media as that is where we are able to best connect with our audiences. We are seeing increased traction on digital even on slightly older content. Earlier this year, around International Women’s Day, we had launched a new episode of our mini-series, SPARKS, featuring our brand ambassador Sachin Tendulkar. The episode traces the journey of a social enterprise that is supported by DBS and is helping women become delivery agents, a profession that was traditionally inaccessible to them. As there is a heightened demand for online content as well as increased interest in cause-related material, we have seen a recent spike in views. Q) What are a few key learnings for you as a brand in the last few weeks? The importance of agility was brought home to us, and we pivoted some of our campaigns really quickly to make sure they were relevant in the current context. DBS is present in multiple countries across Asia, and we had important learnings from our colleagues in Singapore, China and Hong Kong who had faced similar situations in their markets some months/weeks before we did. Our key learnings are around being digital-first, staying true to our brand ethos of ‘Live More, Bank Less’ in everything we do, and ensuring we understand evolving consumer sentiment and respond appropriately.

Marketing in the times of COVID-19: DBS Bank

<ul><li><keyword id="6397414" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ananth-Narayanan">Ananth Narayanan</keyword> was one of the most high profile exits from Flipkart, after it was acquired by Walmart. </li><li>Narayanan has now joined e-pharmacy startup <keyword id="3873233" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Medlife">Medlife</keyword>. </li><li>Medlife, which was started in 2014, reportedly does 20,000 deliveries in a day.</li></ul>Ananth Narayanan, who quit Flipkart owned Myntra after the acquisition by Walmart, has now joined Medlife as its <a href="https://www.livemint.com/companies/people/former-myntra-jabong-ceo-ananth-narayanan-joins-medlife-1564991124569.html">CEO</a>. There were rumours that Narayanan left his position as Myntra Jabong’s CEO because of his misalignment with Flipkart CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy. Even while Narayanan was working for the company, reports said that he could join the Indian OTT platform Hotstar. However, he is now part of <keyword id="2868700" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="online-pharmacy">online pharmacy</keyword> startup. Medlife was founded in 2014 by Tushar Kumar and Prashant Singh, and helps patients and doctors manage their files online. The company claims to perform 20,000 deliveries across India and is reportedly in talks with pharma giant Cipla for a funding round. Cipla could invest <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/business/india-business/cipla-in-talks-to-back-e-pharmacy-medlife/articleshow/70489577.cms">₹170 crore </a>in the e-pharmacy startup. There were also reports that <a href="https://www.business-standard.com/article/companies/softbank-in-talks-to-invest-70-million-in-indian-e-pharmacy-medlife-119061301247_1.html">SoftBank</a> too was looking at investing in the startup. Bengaluru-based Medlife had also acquired its competitor <a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/small-biz/startups/newsbuzz/medlife-acquires-myra-to-take-epharma-service-to-22-cities/articleshow/69193813.cms">Myra Medicines</a> earlier in May 2019, expanding its deliveries to 22 cities in India.

<ul><li>The radio industry has been grappling with decreasing ad spends on the medium.</li><li>In wake of the <keyword id="1754604" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="coronavirus">Coronavirus</keyword> outbreak, <keyword id="8947255" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="the-association-of-radio-operators">the Association of Radio Operators</keyword> for India has written to the government seeking a bailout package.</li></ul> The Association of Radio Operators for India (AROI) has written a letter to the government seeking a bailout package, in view of the impact of the Coronavirus outbreak on the industry. In the letter, the industry body has requested the government to consider the concession requests it had made in December 2019. Considering a lot of brands are cutting back on spending on media, the industry body is expecting the radio industry, that is already grappling with decreasing ad spends, to be further impacted. And to seek a government intervention, AROI President <keyword id="1637280" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Anurradha-Prasad">Anurradha Prasad</keyword> has written this letter to Union minister of information and broadcasting <keyword id="119642" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Prakash-Javadekar">Prakash Javadekar</keyword> on March 16. As of now, the industry body has asked for a three-pronged bailout package. Speaking about the request <keyword id="2688166" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Nisha-Narayanan">Nisha Narayanan</keyword>, Director &amp; COO, RED FM and Magic FM said, “The industry has collectively asked for a three-pronged bailout package till the economy stabilizes. This included a one-year moratorium on all licence fees and charges by the government and <keyword id="139640" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Prasar-Bharti">Prasar Bharti</keyword>, and restoration of government advertising on radio, besides clearing the long-pending payments from the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity. We hope that the government helps restore normalcy in this sector in these desperate times.” Emphasizing on the criticality of the request from AROI to the government at this juncture, Abraham Thomas, CEO, Big FM said, "The FM Radio business was already reeling under the effects of the cut in Ad spends by advertisers including Government with most players expected to degrow by -20% this fiscal. Covid19 crises has put additional pressure on us to invest behind uninterrupted business continuity services. Ad spends on the other end has completely dried up. Radio is a fixed cost business and directly/indirectly employs close to 20,000 employees. The impact of all this is going to be huge." For the past few years, advertising on radio has seen a decrease. Even advertising from government that used to account for 10% of the industry’s revenue, has cut down on its spend on the medium. That, coupled with the Coronavirus crisis, has further hit radio ad spends. The aim of this bailout package is to bring about some relief for a lot of stations that are planning steps for cutting cost, including cutting down on staff. The primary asks of the AROI from the government, points out Thomas, are as follows: <ul><li>Increased Spending: Government which used to account for almost 15% of the Radio Business, has decreased spends by over 70% in the last year alone. Spends at this time will help rally the citizens together and keep the communication live, local and credible.</li><li>Clearing Overdue Outstanding payments: Over 6 months of Govt. outstanding payments are due and clearing the payments now will be a big relief for the industry.</li><li>Defray Costs: A waiver on License fees, Prasar Bharti rentals, reduction in GST rate and moratorium on payment of GST, on Loan &amp; interest pay-outs are some of the requests made by the AROI to the government.</li></ul>

<ul><li>With the launch of Celebrity Masterclass, Myntra is trying to strengthen its loyalty program, while also using content to connect with consumers.</li><li>Since its launch in 2018, <keyword id="6906220" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Myntra-Insider">Myntra Insider</keyword> has amassed close to 6.8 million members.</li><li>Harish Narayanan, Head of Marketing, Myntra, speaks to us about the role that content will play in the future and how it is using its loyalty program to ensure that consumers stay longer, resulting in more conversions.</li></ul>It was in 2018 that fashion e-commerce platform Myntra launched its loyalty program, Myntra Insider, to come up with an effective way of engaging with its users. Since then, the program has amassed close to 6.8 million members who contribute over 40% to its overall sales. Moreover, Myntra Insider has been able to increase its consumer’s stickiness to the platform. Myntra shared that since the launch of the program, Insiders, as the members are called, have visited the platform 1.3X times more than other customers and spent 1.25X more on each order. Owing to the success of the program, and to give something extra to its users, Myntra announced its initiative, Celebrity Masterclasses, based on the insight that consumers are on the lookout for fashion tips while shopping. As a part of the initiative, Myntra has partnered with 10 Bollywood stylists to offer 20 minute sessions for members of its loyalty program. The platform has also been stressing on using content as a tool to engage with its consumers. The launch of the Masterclass is a step in that direction. We caught up with Harish Narayanan, Head of Marketing, Myntra, to understand what role will content play in the future and how it is using its loyalty program to ensure that consumers stay longer and spend more on the platform. Edited excerpts: Q) Tell us a bit about your loyalty program, what are its primary features and how a customer stands to gain from it? What kind of reception has it seen so far? We launched ‘Myntra Insider’ in 2018, and it allows its members an early access to all Myntra sale events, exclusive access to limited edition launches and collections. Vouchers, coupons and a host of partner offers are some of the other standard benefits. Since fashion is more about discovery and expression, we want to engage deeply with our customers and help them with their fashion discovery journey. We have enrolled 6.8 million members in just 1.5 years who contribute over 40% to the overall sales on the platform. In a research that we conducted recently, consumers have come out strongly in favour of needing deep fashion advice from the program. To address this, we have launched Celebrity Masterclasses, creating an opportunity for our customers to get fashion tips from leading celebrity stylists. Since the launch of the loyalty program, we have seen that Insiders visit Myntra 1.3X times more than other customers and spend 1.25X more on each order, making them true Myntra loyalists. Q) What role do loyalty programs like Myntra Insider play in improving customer experience? Customer experience in today’s competitive world is all about offering a differentiated and delightful experience that is uniquely married to our brand’s strengths. And Insider does exactly that, by offering several unique experiences for members, thus effectively creating the ground for an enhanced customer-brand relationship. Customer experience can be improved in many ways, at every touch-point, by improving the quality of service or by offering value-added services. Insider does include the conventional offerings that are standard across programs, such as discounts, vouchers and coupons against redeemable points. But going beyond that, we are offering special access benefits like early access to sale events and exclusive access to new launches. Q) How does the brand stand to gain from the program? It gives our users new reasons to visit the platform and spend more time with us. The idea is for people to visit us not only when they want to shop, but also when they are browsing for new styles or seeking fashion information. We want customers to be more involved and educated in their fashion choices and feel more happy and confident about their looks. Then they will reward us with higher conversion and revenues. Q) What can we expect from the newly launched Masterclass? Myntra Insider Masterclass will give our customers an opportunity to get fashion tips from leading celebrity stylists. Our members will have the opportunity to learn the latest trends and styles, first hand, from the very stylists who style leading celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Virat Kohli, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone and Kareena Kapoor among others. For the first phase of Masterclasses, we have partnered with 10 Bollywood stylists including Tanya Ghavri, Nandita Mahtani, Esha Amin, Shaleena Nathani, Ami Patel, Sanjay Kumar, Mohit Rai, Nikita Jaisinghani, Aastha Sharma and Amandeep Kaur, to offer 20-minute sessions which can be redeemed against points collected by Insiders through their purchases or engagement on Myntra. Q) Despite being an e-commerce platform, what is making you bet big on video content? As fashion is an engagement-oriented segment, we are investing heavily in a video content led approach to engage with customers and increase the time spent by them on the platform. The video content on Myntra will provide users first-hand access to pro tips by stylists, experts, brands and celebrities, offering an unparalleled experience of hearing directly from the best in the industry, while also interacting with them in real-time. In an age of decreasing attention spans, video is an easily-consumed, easy-to-share medium. It allows us to create an engaging way to impart crucial information to consumers at any time and location. Last year we launched, ‘Myntra Fashion Superstar’, which was the world’s first digital fashion reality show on the app and it was viewed by millions of users across the country.

 Myntra’s End of Reason Sale (EORS) started with a bang as it sold 1.77 lakh items, with over 2.2 lakh new customers signing up, in the first 10 minutes of the sale. The fashion platform is looking at acquiring 7 lakh new customers this edition and is expecting a 50% increase in traffic on its platform than last year. The current edition has also brought in gamification, with four games - Brand Hunter, Logo Mania, Crossword and Santa Delivery, that customers played to earn points before the sale went live. The games were played by 6.5 lakh users. Myntra also on-boarded 50 influencers, the highest so far, to expand its marketing reach. Harish Narayanan, Head – Marketing, Myntra Jabong further shared how the platform ramped up its marketing game to grow the user base, increase brand salience and engagement on the platform. “We have increased the number of creatives we made by 10X. We will be reaching 300 million users with our combined marketing plan this time,” says Narayanan. In a first, 50 new brands were launched on Myntra, ahead of the mega sale event, offering shoppers the widest selection till date on the platform. Myntra has also scaled up the selection of its private brands with 1.5 lakh styles across apparel, accessories and footwear. Key categories with expected high demand include winter wear, women’s ethnic and western wear, denims, street wear, sports and beauty. The 11th edition will end on December 25. Myntra has also partnered with over 35 brands to enable deliveries directly from their stores resulting in a wider selection and faster deliveries for customers during EORS. To increase the consumer's convenience, Myntra partnered with 200 tailors to offer alteration services in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata and opened 20 experience centres across the country to provide value-added services such as pick up, returns, trial rooms and alterations. The highly successful Kirana model, under MENSA (Myntra Extended Network for Service Augmentation) will cater to 70% of the overall deliveries, through 15,000 stores across the country. In addition to this, there are 9 forward deployment centres around high-demand clusters, to enhance logistical capabilities. Myntra has also expanded the number of pin codes served to 23,000, providing access to customers across all corners of the country.
