<ul><li><keyword id="6397414" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ananth-Narayanan">Ananth Narayanan</keyword> was one of the most high profile exits from Flipkart, after it was acquired by Walmart. </li><li>Narayanan has now joined e-pharmacy startup <keyword id="3873233" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Medlife">Medlife</keyword>. </li><li>Medlife, which was started in 2014, reportedly does 20,000 deliveries in a day.</li></ul>Ananth Narayanan, who quit Flipkart owned Myntra after the acquisition by Walmart, has now joined Medlife as its <a href="https://www.livemint.com/companies/people/former-myntra-jabong-ceo-ananth-narayanan-joins-medlife-1564991124569.html">CEO</a>. There were rumours that Narayanan left his position as Myntra Jabong’s CEO because of his misalignment with Flipkart CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy. Even while Narayanan was working for the company, reports said that he could join the Indian OTT platform Hotstar. However, he is now part of <keyword id="2868700" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="online-pharmacy">online pharmacy</keyword> startup. Medlife was founded in 2014 by Tushar Kumar and Prashant Singh, and helps patients and doctors manage their files online. The company claims to perform 20,000 deliveries across India and is reportedly in talks with pharma giant Cipla for a funding round. Cipla could invest <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/business/india-business/cipla-in-talks-to-back-e-pharmacy-medlife/articleshow/70489577.cms">₹170 crore </a>in the e-pharmacy startup. There were also reports that <a href="https://www.business-standard.com/article/companies/softbank-in-talks-to-invest-70-million-in-indian-e-pharmacy-medlife-119061301247_1.html">SoftBank</a> too was looking at investing in the startup. Bengaluru-based Medlife had also acquired its competitor <a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/small-biz/startups/newsbuzz/medlife-acquires-myra-to-take-epharma-service-to-22-cities/articleshow/69193813.cms">Myra Medicines</a> earlier in May 2019, expanding its deliveries to 22 cities in India.

Former Myntra CEO Ananth Narayanan joins online pharmacy Medlife

<keyword id="6354742" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Flipkart">Flipkart</keyword>’s head of commerce and advertising business, Mukesh Bansal, has resigned from the company and will continue as an advisor. 
 
Flipkart’s Chief Business Officer Ankit Nagori also called it quits. 
 
"I have been discussing this for a while with both Sachin and Binny and it felt this was right time to do it. We finalised it pretty much last month when the management restructuring happened. We have built great leaders who will take Flipkart and Myntra to new heights now. I will take a break and then think of what to do next," Mukesh Bansal told TOI.

Hi All - My incredible journey with Myntra and Flipkart comes to an end. It has been amazing nine years filled with lot of learning, privilege to work with outstanding people and chance to participate in building future industry of India that will impact hundred of millions of people. 
 
When Ashutosh and I started Myntra in 2007, we never dreamt in our wildest imagination that we will come this far. What's even more amazing is that it seems we are just getting started and the journey ahead for Flipkart/Myntra is going to be even more fascinating and at the scale that India has never seen before. 
 
Today, Myntra is by far the best fashion destination in the country and is run by a strong, passionate leadership team led by Ananth. I am confident that this team will make Myntra an iconic company which will change the face of fashion industry in India. Myntra is leading the industry with premium service, differentiated shopping experience, unique in-house brands and lot of progress towards achieving profitability. I am particularly proud of the culture at Myntra which is a huge source of strength and differentiation and inspiration for entire ecosystem. 
 
My two years with Flipkart has been nothing short of fairy tale! Sachin and Binny have built a very unique company that has practically created the eCommerce industry in India and consistently led in innovation like COD, eKart, 30 Day Returns and mCommerce. The Audacity, Flipkart first and Bias for action have been cornerstone of the Flipkart culture that enables us to dream big and consistently beat our own expectations. We are well on our way to build India's first real tech company, drive genuine innovation and transform commerce in India through technology. 
 
I have enjoyed every minute of my time with Flipkart and felt inspired every moment. In last two years, we have established very strong leadership in Fashion, transformed the business into Marketplace model, increased our Smartphone market share to 60% and built differentiators in Large. We have pivoted to completely mobile first company with 60% mCommerce market-share for the group. 
 
We have embarked on the journey to be a strong product/tech organisation with very high caliber talent. Last year, we set out to build the best leadership team in India and we have done exactly that. With the caliber of this team, I am very confident that Flipkart is in safe hands and this team is eminently capable of charting the course for next phase of Flipkart journey. 
 
I am very excited with Binny coming in as CEO and my transition will enable him to work directly with CP leadership. Binny's ability to drive execution rigour, objectivity and long term vision for Flipkart will give us best shot in dealing with the challenges that lie ahead. Binny, along with the leadership and the amazing talent pool at Flipkart will do justice to any mandate and continue to push the boundaries for eCommerce/Internet businesses in India and beyond. I will transition my role to Binny and will be available as long as required to ensure a smooth and successful transition. With this team in place and the momentum on multiple fronts, CP is in great hands and I feel confident that this is right time for me to move on to next phase. 
 
Even though my journey comes to an end, I will always be deeply emotionally connected to Flipkart and Myntra. I will continue to be available from outside as sounding board and mentor to the team. Last nine years have completely transformed me as a person and I will cherish every moment. The hardest part will be to part ways with all the incredible people I had the privilege to get to know and work with. I will seek you out over next few weeks to say my good-byes in person and to celebrate what we have achieved together. 
 
I am looking forward to a long break after my transition and catching up on my reading, travel and fitness. I will be spending bunch of time with my kids and catch up on all the fun I have missed with them all these years. 
 
With a heavy heart but lots of excitement for the future, it is time for me to sign-off! Wish you all the very best in building something that all of India will be proud of and which will be the role model of the potential of new India built through entrepreneurship and technology.

Till Monday evening, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=snapdeal&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Snapdeal’</a>s executives were under the assumption that they had almost closed the deal and would soon add <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=jabong&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Jabong</a>- the online fashion retailer in their portfolio. 
 
But, as they found out the next morning, the e-commerce website had been completely blindsided by <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=sachin+bansal&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Sachin</a> and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=binny+bansal&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Binny </a><a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=binny+bansal&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Bansal’</a>s <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Myntra-acquires-Jabong-from-GFG/articleshow/53393285.cms">Flipkart which swooped in and bought Jabong </a>through its unit <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=myntra&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Myntra</a>, for $70 million. 
 <keyword id="541988" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="SnapDeal">Snapdeal</keyword>''s founder and CEO <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=kunal+bahl&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Kunal Bahl</a> wasn’t however disheartened at losing out on this deal to a rival. Infact, as surprising as it would sound- Bahl was instead quite happy. 
 The reason for this, he said, was the fact that he did not find <keyword id="6388367" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Jabong">Jabong</keyword> clean and that they were grey areas, thus not meeting Snapdeal’s high bar. 
 
Jabong has in the past being accused of not following the best practices. It was also alleged in the media that a former Jabong executive might have also made personal gains in company dealings. 
 
Snapdeal was concerned about the reported irregularities as it didn’t want the company to be weighed down by them after it acquired Jabong. 
 
And, thus Bahl’s team treaded cautiously. They were trying to seek answers from Jabong about the alleged corporate governance issues widely reported by the media and also analysing its business structure. Reportedly, Snapdeal’s legal team also sent over a list of conditions and to put it simply, closing the deal was taking time. 
 <keyword id="6354742" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Flipkart">Flipkart</keyword>, on the other hand, was swift and made the deal without any such questions asked, in an all-cash transaction. 
 
On Tuesday, right after news broke about Flipkart acquiring Jabong, Bahl wrote a note to the Snapdeal team and told them they had nothing to be discouraged about. His note also spoke about the realities of mergers and acquisitions (M&amp;As). 
 
“M&amp;A is very exciting when you are doing it. The real work begins after that, and the surprises come after that. I am happy for the people who got all this cash for a company that has all these issues,” he wrote. 
 
He now wants to spend the $100 million; the saved cash from not buying Jabong on building Snapdeal’s very own fashion business and create a unique experience by building a fashion-specific technology and supply chain.

In a year when many agencies are struggling, <keyword id="3313068" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Wavemaker">Wavemaker</keyword> India has won new businesses worth Rs 700 crore.</li><li>In a conversation with Ad &amp; Media Insider, Gupte discusses the year almost gone by and also looks back at the last 3 years, on the agency's 3rd anniversary.</li></ul>The year 2020 has been a difficult year for not just the advertising industry but the world in general. A recent report by KPMG stated that India’s media and entertainment (M&amp;E) sector will take till 2022 to recover from its current levels. However, there are a few organizations and agencies that took the challenge head on. They innovated, acted with agility and made the most of an otherwise challenging year. It’s been 3 years since GroupM merged its agencies MEC and Maxus into Wavemaker. Since its inception, Wavemaker has been able to win an enviable roster of clients that include <keyword id="6398864" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mondelez">Mondelez</keyword>, Vi and Mother Dairy, among many others. Moreover, the agency also clocked in new businesses worth Rs 700 crore. Some of the newly won accounts included Sun Pharma, Chumbak, <keyword id="10247458" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="religare-healthcare-insurance">Religare Healthcare Insurance</keyword> (now Care Health Insurance), Lido learning, Glance and Supr Daily. On the agency’s 3rd anniversary, we caught up with Ajay Gupte, CEO – South Asia, Wavemaker who took over the reins after Kartik Sharma moved on from the agency early this year. It’s been an eventful year for both him and the agency and he walks us through all that happened at Wavemaker and how the agency managed to win Rs 700 crore worth of new business in such a tumultuous year. Excerpts: Q) Let's look back at what has been a very difficult year for the world in general. How has Wavemaker fared during this adverse year? Yes, it has been a very difficult year for all of us. The year has been tough on business and on our people. No one has ever experienced being in such a lockdown before, so everyone is trying to grapple with this phenomenon in the best way possible. We’ve made concentrated efforts to take advantage of adversity to accelerate on the journey to achieve our ambitions. In many ways, Covid-19 has brought the future closer. The consumer journey has been altered. Digital plays a much more integral role from brand discovery to purchase. This has enabled us to bring into play the investments we have made in better understanding the consumer journey, in delivering meaningful engagement with the consumer and in effecting purchase. I am hugely proud of the team for showcasing great agility and acclimatizing to the changes. The year wouldn’t have been easy without the support and trust shown by our clients and partners. Despite being such a tough year, Wavemaker India has managed to clock in new business worth Rs 700+ crore. What more could we ask for! Q) You took the reins as the CEO of the agency in one of the most challenging years in recent times. What were your key focus areas and your strategies that helped minimize the impact of the pandemic on the agency's numbers? I do like to look at things positively. Looking back at the year, I think I’ve achieved what I couldn’t otherwise achieve in the normal scheme of life. I was able to meet a large number of our clients (although virtually) within these 6 months. It would have otherwise taken me more than a year to meet our entire client roster. I’ve regularly interacted with our team across the country, which would have been otherwise very difficult, had we to do this in person. So I would say we have been able to make the most of what was dished out to us. As Wavemaker, we believe in investing in capabilities to build tools which will help us and our clients grow. Automation, analytics, data &amp; technology, digital are some of the key areas where we have been investing continuously. These investments have proven effective as 2020 has altered the consumer journey to a large extent. However, we were able to navigate through these changes and offer appropriate solutions to clients to engage with the consumer along their purchase journey. The work we have done in this year has helped us add that much more value to our clients, thereby strengthening our relationship with them. Q) There has been a lot of movement when it comes to the leadership team in Wavemaker. Kishan Kumar MS, Premjeet Sodhi, <keyword id="2932055" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vishal-Jacob">Vishal Jacob</keyword> and Mac Machiach have taken over key roles. What are your expectations from this power-packed team? You have rightly termed the team as power-packed and I’m quite fortunate to have such a great team. A highly experienced leadership team is the biggest asset of any agency and I am glad we have the best minds leading Wavemaker. The mandate given and expectations are very clear – keep, growing by positively provoking ourselves, our clients and our partners. Investing in the right talent, nurturing the existing talent along with providing cutting edge solutions to our clients to help them grow is the focal point of our business and offerings. The team needs to keep this at the essence of everything they do. Q) Wavemaker completed 3 years. What have some of the agency's biggest milestones been so far? We have had many milestones in this last 3 years. Right from winning Agency of the year in 2018 at Emvies and winning client of the year for Vodafone for 2 consecutive years in 2017 and 2018 at EMVIEs have been one of the most memorable moments for us. We also launched the Content Effectiveness lab with Ogilvy, launched the first-ever influencer marketing offering ‘Thrive’. We created some great analytical tools like Athena, the budget optimizer tool created by our analytics team for L’Oréal which has been highly appreciated by the client and our global teams. Q) Give us a report card for Wavemaker in 2020. How would you rate your performance so far, in terms of new account wins, the quality of work and overall performance? If I have to rate the performance of Wavemaker in 2020, I would rate it A+. We have brought our capabilities in data, analytics, content and Technology to the fore by doing some fantastic work for our clients. Very happy with the way the teams have been able to rally together for our clients bringing in learnings from all over the world and using our tools with insights and recommendations to support our clients in this time. Additionally, winning new business worth Rs 700+ crore in an exceptionally tough year like this has been a phenomenal performance. We’ve bagged new accounts like Sun Pharma, Chumbak, Religare Healthcare Insurance (now Care Health Insurance), Lido learning, Glance, Supr Daily and many more. We have also won the e-commerce mandate for Mondelez. Additionally we’re hoping to hear some more positive news in the last 2 months of 2020. I couldn’t have asked for anything more than this in a year when the world is grappling with challenges and trying to keep business sentiments high. Q) Tell us about some of the work done this year so far that you are proud of. We have been extremely proud of the work we have rolled out in this year. Creating engaging content campaigns for our clients was one of the highlights and we have done it exceptionally well. Some of our noteworthy campaigns are ‘Maa ka Haath Ka Khana’ with the famous stand-up comedian <keyword id="10247459" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="zaakir-khan">Zaakir Khan</keyword> for Mother Dairy, Thank You campaign for <keyword id="570619" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Cadbury-Dairy-Milk">Cadbury Dairy Milk</keyword> Silk, Myntra Fashion Super star, Iss Saal Har Ghar Pandal for Gemini Oil to the latest <keyword id="6399124" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="cadbury">Cadbury</keyword> Celebrations to help the local businesses which suffered during the pandemic. Also we are hugely proud of the amazing work done for the launch of Vi! All these great pieces of work have been pulled off successfully while the teams were working remotely. Q) In today's environment, what does it take to become an agency of the future? In today’s VUCA world, it’s difficult to always predict the future but we can prepare for it. 2020 has been a real test of agility and collaboration. Investing in data and technology to deliver effective solutions with the consumer at the centre is key. Also absolutely essential is the investment in automation to ensure that the basics of implementation and reporting are efficient and error-free, allowing talent to focus on brand requirements. Q) The lockdown also led to some great innovations. How have you as an agency innovated in the past 7 months to ensure you have an edge? Our digital and tech teams have been constantly working on devising newer modules for clients that will help them connect better with their consumers. The initial phase of the lockdown got us all thinking and reassessing our business plans and we have sharpened our capabilities in data and analytics and technology. We have implemented several path-breaking innovations for our clients too. One such innovative product we launched for one of our clients was an online platform to allow the client to train and equip their on-ground support team across the country. The product was developed within 10 days and implemented by the client at a lightning speed as that was the need of the hour. Q) As we inch towards 2021, what will your key focus areas be as a leader? Our focus will always be on our clients, our people and our product. We will remain<a name="_GoBack"></a> to build on our capabilities while we will continue to positively provoke ourselves, our clients and our partners. Upskilling our capabilities and training our talent will be a high focus area. We will continue to invest and enhance our capabilities in e-commerce, content, data, analytics, technology and measurement. In early 2020, we announced Positive Provocation as our proposition and backed it with our Operating system which consists of three major aspects – Unlock, Transform and Maximise. <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=%E2%80%8BMyntra">Myntra</a> Chief Operating Officer Ganesh Subramanian has launched a startup - Stylumia Intelligence Technology. It’s a data-driven firm that would analyse <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=fashion+trends">fashion trends</a>. 
 
"As a fashion professional, I have struggled with some unresolved questions: how much to buy? what to observe/spot in terms of trends/inspirations? What products/medium to choose for my brand/business?" Subramanian said. "The answers to which we are chasing at Stylumia." 
 
Subramanian is the CEO of the company. He jointly formed the company with Ram Prakash H. Subramanian who quit Myntra in September this year. Stylumia looks to help companies prepare the next season's collection based on evaluation of consumer behaviour. 
 
"Fashion brands currently predict designs for the next season collection on their gut feeling or follow other brands, as there is no comprehensive data available on consumer shopping behaviour and future trends," Subramanian said. The company is set to launch its first version in India by early 2016. 
 
According to Subramanian, less than half of clothes manufactured are sold at a discount. This is due to disconnect between demand and the forecast demand. "What we are trying to work on is how to help a fashion professional take an informed decision using intelligence. If companies determine the trend early, they will be able to increase revenue and profits," he said.

Ever since interest around artificial intelligence (<keyword id="19899640" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="AI" source="keywords">AI</keyword>) has gained ground, people have been talking about how the emerging <keyword id="19901571" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="technology" source="keywords">technology</keyword> can potentially replace <keyword id="19914922" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="jobs" source="keywords">jobs</keyword> across the globe. While a section of people believe that AI can help humans be productive at their jobs by eliminating the time spent on menial tasks, others perceive it as a threat instead. On the other hand, a CNN report in June this year talked about how over 61 percent of large US companies are mulling over the idea of using AI to take care of tasks that were earlier being done by humans. So, if AI will be replacing humans at their jobs is something that only time will tell. However, if that does happen, here are some jobs that are at risk of being replaced by the new technology. <div type="Article" hostid="261" msid="110538675" title="Humans who effectively use AI—and not AI itself—will take over jobs, even in entertainment industry: Netflix co-CEO" mstype="2" mssubtype="0"></div> <h2>1. Data Entry and administrative jobs</h2> AI's ability to process and organize data with speed and accuracy makes data entry and administrative roles slightly vulnerable. Moreover, tools like Uipath, Power Automate and Blue Prism can already help with data entry, reducing the need for human intervention. <h2>2. Customer service agents</h2> The customer service industry is undergoing significant changes as AI-powered chatbots and virtual assistants become more sophisticated. These technologies can handle routine customer inquiries, bookings, and support issues 24/7, often more efficiently than human agents. While complex problem-solving and empathy still require a human touch, basic customer service roles are increasingly at risk. Programmers</h2> Generative AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini are already capable of writing code, raising concerns about the future of entry-level programming jobs. The co-founder and chief executive of Yes Bank, Rana Kapoor, was reportedly asked by the Reserve Bank of India to put in his papers by January 2019. Kapoor had been working as the managing director and CEO since the bank started its operations in 2004. RBI decided not to extend the tenure of Rana Kapoor amid alleged corporate governance lapses and under-reporting of non-performing loans. The central bank further instructed Yes Bank to look for his successor. His resignation led to a crash in the bank’s shares.
