The fund’s portfolio includes startups like CredAvenue (<keyword id="14257101" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="yubi" source="Orion">Yubi</keyword>), <keyword id="3030142" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="myglamm" source="Orion">MyGlamm</keyword>, <keyword id="12437554" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="zepto" source="Orion">Zepto</keyword>, BluSmart and more. Stride said that the new fund saw participation from leading banks, marquee family offices, corporate treasuries, sovereign funds, PE funds, insurance firms and HNIs. "The growing investor trust in the Indian start-up ecosystem provided us with a great opportunity to develop a strong pipeline of deployments that we have utilized across various sectors. Stride Ventures goal is to continue being a preferred lender while developing innovative alternate financing solutions for founders,” said <keyword id="13803875" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="ishpreet-singh-gandhi" source="Orion">Ishpreet Singh Gandhi</keyword>, founder and managing partner at Stride Ventures. The fund saw its first close back in August 2021. Strides has diverse investments across sectors such as consumer, fin-tech, agri-tech, B2B commerce, health-tech, B2B SaaS, mobility &amp; energy solutions (EV). It has sanctioned over ₹1600 crore to over 70 companies across these verticals. “The current economic environment has made growing businesses more amenable to debt transactions than ever before, giving India's venture lending industry a chance to grow and evolve,” added <keyword id="1946603" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="apoorva-sharma" source="Orion">Apoorva Sharma</keyword>, partner at Stride Ventures. The fund facilitated joint-lending structures with leading banks over three years. It claims to have built innovative alternate financing solutions within venture debt for founders to allocate capital efficiently. Venture debt firm Stride Ventures closes a $200 million fund

The investment, which is Amazon’s first in an Indian consumer brand, pegs MyGlamm’s valuation at $100 million. However, Amazon’s individual investment amount remains undisclosed. With the acquisition, POPxo’s investors Chiratae Ventures, Kalaari Capital, and Neoplux Venture Capital had joined the board of MyGlamm. Along with a digital presence, MyGlamm also focuses on offline retail with over 10,000 points of sales across 70 cities in India. The company, which claims to have grown by 400% in 2019, had to halt its Series C round, initially intended to be closed by April 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the company said that from zero revenue during the months of strict lockdown, MyGlamm now records revenues 200% of pre-Covid levels and also claims to have achieved EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) profitability in December 2020. Robust buying across sectors and stocks giving significant returns has led to benchmark indices Nifty 50 and Sensex gaining nearly 30% returns in 2021 so far, becoming the top performers among other Asian equity markets. The UN estimates Yemen's population at more than 30 million people. "Yemen continues to be the world's worst humanitarian crisis and the largest aid operation," Dujarric said. "Famine is stalking the nation, with more than half the population facing acute food insecurity and record levels of acute malnutrition among children under 5." The spokesman noted that last year's plan was only 56 per cent funded and some critical programs had to be closed as a result. "We are doing everything we can to help, but we need adequate funding as needs continue to rise," he told the briefing. "At the high-level pledging event that took place in early March, donors pledged only $1.7 billion for the response, that's less than half what is required (for 2021). "The Secretary-General said the pledges represent at best a down payment. We urge donors to quickly disburse their pledges and scale up funding for the humanitarian response to save lives. "And if people have not yet pledged, it is never too late to do so," Dujarric added. Yemen has been mired in civil war since late 2014 when the Iran-backed Houthi rebels seized control of several northern provinces and forced the Saudi-backed government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi out of the capital Sanaa.
