<p>The countdown was halted just over a minute before launch when a steering mechanism in the rocket malfunctioned - "behaving strangely," as SpaceX chief Elon Musk noted via Twitter.</p>
<p>The soonest SpaceX can try again to launch the unmanned Falcon rocket is Friday morning, provided it can quickly fix the problem.</p>
<p>NASA took the latest shipment delay in stride, while the company faced three more days of anxious waiting for its unprecedented rocket-landing test - attempting to fly back the main booster to a platform in the ocean.</p>
<p>The Dragon capsule is loaded with more than 5,000 pounds of food, <keyword id="41551" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="science">science</keyword> experiments and equipment for an upcoming series of spacewalks, as well as belated holiday surprises for the six station astronauts. The station pantry took a hit when another company's supply ship was destroyed in a launch explosion a few months ago.</p>
<p>Space station commander Butch Wilmore said the six crew members ran out of condiments a month ago, and he's yearning for some yellow mustard to spice up the food. He and his crewmates were watching the launch countdown just before sunrise live via a video feed from Mission Control in Houston.</p>
<p>"Certainly, there's a little bit of disappointment because it had fresh fruit and those types of things that we're all interested in getting," Wilmore said in an interview with The Associated Press after the postponement. "But they'll get off the ground here in a couple of days and it will all be great."</p>
<p>SpaceX officials said one of two motors needed for rocket thrust steering of the second stage was moving when it should have been still. If controllers had not aborted the launch, computers likely would have done so closer to flight time, officials said.</p>
<p>Once the Dragon is on its way, the California-based company will try to fly the first-stage booster rocket to a platform in the Atlantic. No one has ever pulled off such a touchdown. Normally, the boosters are discarded at sea.</p>
<p>SpaceX's founder, Musk, said recovering and reusing rockets could speed up launches and drive down costs.</p>
<p>The delivery was supposed to occur before Christmas, but was delayed twice in mid-December, once because of a flawed test firing of the rocket engines. The test was repeated successfully, paving the way for Tuesday's try - the sixth supply run by SpaceX since 2012.</p>
<p>NASA is using SpaceX and another private company - Orbital Sciences Corp. - to help keep the space station stocked. The last shipment attempt - by Orbital - ended in an explosion seconds after the October liftoff from Virginia. Orbital has grounded its rocket fleet until next year.</p>
<p>Researchers, some of them school children, scrambled to get replacement experiments and equipment on this Dragon flight.</p>
<p>Space station program manager Mike Suffredini said the outpost is nowhere near being short on food or other critical supplies. Russia and Japan also have supply shipments planned this year.</p>

Delay Of Historic SpaceX Launch Caused By A Rocket 'Behaving Strangely'

<p>Two US Republican lawmakers want to know if popular American pop star <keyword id="6355057" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Beyonce">Beyonce</keyword> and her husband, rap singer <keyword id="16418" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Jay-Z">Jay-Z</keyword>, had the US government's permission to travel to <keyword id="16815" type="COUNTRY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Cuba">Cuba</keyword> despite an economic embargo.</p>
<p>Representatives Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Mario Diaz-Balart of Florida on Friday sent a letter to Adam Szubin, director of the Office of Foreign Assets Control at the Treasury Department, requesting information on the type of license Beyonce and Jay-Z had received before traveling to Cuba.</p>
<p>"As you know, US law expressly prohibits the licensing of financial transactions for 'tourist activities' in Cuba," the pair wrote.</p>
<p>They went on to say that these restrictions were in place because the Cuban government was listed by the US State Department as one of four state sponsors of terrorism and has "one of the world's most egregious" human rights records.</p>
<p>"Cuba's tourism industry is wholly state-controlled; therefore, US dollars spent on Cuban tourism directly fund the machinery of oppression that brutally represses the Cuban people," Ros-Lehtinen and Diaz-Balart wrote.</p>
<p>Beyonce and Jay-Z created a stir Thursday as they toured the streets of Old Havana, with hundreds of Cubans turning out to catch a glimpse of the US power couple.</p>
<p>Celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary, they visited historical landmarks in the heart of Old Havana, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. They snapped pictures and spoke with local residents.</p>
<p>Beyonce -- who sang the US national anthem at President Barack Obama's inauguration in January and performed in the Super Bowl half-time show in February -- was wearing a short mustard yellow dress with black and white accents.</p>
<p>After visiting the cathedral, the couple had lunch in a nearby restaurant.</p>
<p>On Wednesday night, they also had dinner at La Guarida, one of Havana's most exclusive restaurants.</p>
<p>Americans are not allowed to visit Cuba and spend money there unless they have special US government permission.</p>
<p>According to regulations posted on the Treasury Department's website, "unless authorized by a general or specific license, any person subject to US jurisdiction who engages in any Cuba travel-related transaction violates the regulations and may be subject to penalties."</p>
<p>Criminal penalties for violating the regulations could result in up to 10 years in prison and $250,000 in individual fines.</p>
<p>Thousands of Americans nevertheless visit Cuba every year without US permission, often via third countries. But back home they are rarely prosecuted for their rule-breaking unless they flaunt their defiance of the rules.</p>
<p>Beyonce is a strong and vocal supporter of President Obama and helped raise money for his 2012 re-election campaign.</p>
<p>In their letter, the Republican lawmakers noted that numerous press reports described the couple's trip as tourism and that the Cuban government had touted it as such in its propaganda.</p>

<p>It's a <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/why-indian-food-tastes-good-2015-3">scientific fact that Indian food tastes good</a>, mainly thanks to the abundance of spices and flavors.</p><p>There's also quite a variety in Indian cuisine, with dishes ranging from North to South and sometimes by kitchen to kitchen. Punjabi, Bengali, Rajasthani, Goan, Gujarati, and Maharashtrian are just the tip of the delicious iceberg.</p><p>And that doesn't even take into account all of the Anglicized versions of classic Indian dishes, from curry to chutney.</p><p>Here are nine authentic Indian dishes you should try instead of the Western knockoffs.</p><h3>Instead of chicken tikka masala, order chicken tikka </h3><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><a href="http://www.dawn.com/news/824158/chicken-tikka-masala-claims-its-origins-in-scotland">As the story goes</a>, an Indian chef named Ali Ahmed Aslam invented chicken tikka masala dish while cooking in Scotland. The improvised mixture of yogurt, cream, spices, and tomato soup was poured over chicken after a customer complained about the meat being too dry. <p>"Terrorists fired rockets containing chemical materials on Khan al-Assal in Aleppo province," the state news agency SANA and Syrian state television said.</p>
<p>Syria's Information Minister Omran al-Zohbi called the attack a "dangerous escalation," saying that 16 people were killed and 86 injured in the incident.</p>
<p>"The international community and the states that arm, finance and shelter the terrorists should (take note) of the crime committed today in which terrorists used a weapon that is prohibited by international law," he said.</p>
<p>He said countries that backed the rebels, including Turkey and Qatar "bear the legal, moral and human responsibility for the crime that left 16 dead and 86 injured, both civilians and soldiers," Zohbi added.</p>
<p>A spokesman for the Free Syrian Army in Istanbul denied rebel forces had used chemical weapons, blaming President Bashar al-Assad's regime for a deadly rocket attack that caused "breathing problems".</p>
<p>"We understand the army targeted Khan al-Assal (in Aleppo province) using a long-range missile, and our initial information says it may have contained chemical weapons," Louay Muqdad told AFP.</p>
<p>"There are many casualties and many injured have breathing problems," he said in Istanbul, where Syria's opposition has gathered to pick a rebel prime minister.</p>
<p>"We have neither long-range missiles nor chemical weapons. And if we did, we wouldn't use them against a rebel target," said Muqdad.</p>
<p>The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based watchdog, confirmed that a ground-to-ground missile had been fired at a Syrian army position in Khan al-Assal, but there was no information on whether it contained chemical material.</p>
<p>The group said the incident had killed 16 soldiers and 10 civilians.</p>
<p>"I'm not able to confirm if the missile contained chemical materials or not," the group's director Rami Abdel Rahman said.</p>
<p>In early March, nearly 200 regime forces and rebels were killed in fighting over control of a police academy in Khan al-Assal, which is west of Aleppo.</p>
<p>Rebel forces seized the academy, but in the past week regime forces retook much of the town in a counter-offensive, according to the Observatory.</p>
<p>The international community has expressed repeated concern aver the possibility that Assad's regime would use its chemical weapons against rebel forces, and there are also fears the stocks could fall into the hands of militants if the regime loses control over them.</p>
<p>Syria's chemical weapons stockpile, which dates back to the 1970s, is the biggest in the Middle East but its precise scope remains unclear according to analysts, and the regime has not acknowledged having the arms.</p>
<p>The country has hundreds of tons of various chemical agents, including sarin and VX nerve agents, as well as older blistering agents such as mustard gas, dispersed in dozens of manufacturing and storage sites, experts say.</p>
<p>But it remains unclear if the chemical weapons are mounted and ready to be launched on Scud missiles, if the chemical agents are maintained effectively, and whether the regime is able to replenish its chemical stocks.</p>
<p>Damascus has said it might use its chemical weapons if attacked by outsiders, although not against its own people.</p>

Syrian Government and Rebels Blame Each Other For Chemical Attack In Aleppo

<p>We're hard-working, super-nice, and can make a mean <a href="http://www.food.com/recipe/tater-tot-hotdish-292905">Tater Tot hotdish</a>.</p>
<p>And yes, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/22-maps-that-show-the-deepest-linguistic-conflicts-in-america-2013-6">we call soda "pop"</a> and hair ties "hair binders."</p>
<p>Inspired by Business Insider's recent <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/southern-sayings-2013-10" target="_blank">list of Southern sayings</a> the rest of America doesn't understand, here are 14 Midwestern expressions that will inspire you to visit "flyover country."</p>
<h3>1. "If I had my druthers…"</h3>
<p>"Druthers" is a shortened way of saying "would rather." So "If I had my druthers" essentially means "If I had my way."</p>
<p>Usually when someone says this, they're amping up to tell you how something could have been done better.</p>
<h3>2. "Oh, for cute!" or "Oh, for fun!"</h3>
<p>Unlike Southerners who like to stretch sentences out, Midwesterners love to shorten theirs. And sometimes, things are just so gosh darn cute or fun that you don't have time to make grammatical sense or even get out a full sentence. That's why after seeing a newborn or a puppy, "Oh for goodness sakes, how cute!" is suddenly condensed into "Oh, for cute!"</p>
<h3>3. "For cryin' out loud."</h3>
<p>This expression of exasperation is reserved for when a situation or individual is particularly ridiculous or annoying. Instead of taking the Lord's name in vain and shouting "For Christ's sake!", it's much nicer to say "For cryin' out loud."</p>

<h3>4. "That makes as much sense as government cheese."</h3>
<p>For several decades starting in the 1960s, the U.S. government provided processed cheese to those on welfare, food stamps, or Social Security. The processed cheese was a mishmash of cheeses and emulsifiers that didn't taste (or smell) all that great.</p>
<p>In short, people really hated it. So saying "That makes as much sense as government cheese" means something is a truly terrible idea.</p>
<h3>5. "He's schnookered!"</h3>
<p>If you've had one too many beers while out with friends and are excessively intoxicated in public, you're "schnookered."</p>
<p>The term can also mean that you've been conned into doing something under a false pretense. For example, "He was schnookered by all that malarky" means that you were taken in by someone else's bulls**t.</p>
<h3>6. "The Frozen Chosen."</h3>
<p>The <keyword id="1434112" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="60" keywordseo="Midwest">Midwest</keyword> has a fair number of Lutherans and Presbyterians, two branches of Christianity that have a reputation for being chilly or overly formal to people they don't know.</p>
<p>Combine this with the fact that the Northern Midwest is a frozen tundra during the winter, and the nickname "Frozen Chosen" starts to make a whole lot of sense.</p>

<p>Have you ever seen molasses move during the dead of winter in Wisconsin? You'll be waiting awhile.</p>
<p>"Slow as a molasses" was originally a Southern phrase for someone who was moving slowly. It got a Midwest twist given that viscous molasses (a product of sugar) would move even more sluggishly in freezing temperatures.</p>
<h3>8. "Duck Duck Gray Duck"</h3>
<p>The rest of America knows this game by its alternative moniker, "Duck Duck Goose." But every Minnesotan knows that "Duck Duck Gray Duck" is the far superior way to play.</p>
<p>Not only do you have infinite psych-out options ("Red Duck," "Purple Duck," "Gray Moose," etc.), but it's also just much more fun to say out loud. Trust us.</p>
<h3>9. "He's got the holler tail."</h3>
<p>If someone's in a bad mood or doesn't feel well, then "he's got the holler tail." People used to believe that when a cow was sick and wouldn't get up that was because it literally had a "hollow tail." The farmer would cut the tail open and put salt or turpentine inside and wrap it up.</p>
<p>And lest you think they were crazy, it actually worked. But it was not because the tail was hollow - most likely it was because the cow got some much needed rest and extra food during treatment.</p>
<h3>10. "Puthergoin-eh!"</h3>
<p>A condensed version of "Let's put her going," or essentially "Let's get going!"</p>
<p>The "eh" is tacked onto the end as a verbal exclamation mark.</p>
<h3>11. "Tough tomatoes!"</h3>
<p>Saying "Tough tomatoes!" is the equivalent of saying "Tough luck" or "Tough sh*t," but in a nicer way, of course.</p>
<p>It makes literal sense, too - it's "tough tomatoes" if you get a tough tomato that isn't quite ripe yet.</p>
<h3>12. "You betcha!"</h3>
<p>This positive and energetic phrase is used in a variety of ways. People say it when they strongly agree with someone, when someone else is right, to reply in the affirmative, and even in lieu of "You're welcome."</p>

<p>Particularly used in <keyword id="19027" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Minnesota">Minnesota</keyword>, this phrase can be placed at the end or beginning of literally any sentence: "The Minnesota State Fair starts next week, dontcha know." "I'm stuck in traffic, dontcha know." "Dontcha know, I was at the store today and saw your uncle." Et cetera.</p>
<h3>14. "Uff Da!"</h3>
<p>Sometimes spelled uff-da, offda, oofta, and ufta, "Uff da" is a Norwegian expression that upper Midwesterners utter when they're experiencing sensory overload.</p>
<p>The next time you're relieved, exhausted, surprised, or experiencing any other overwhelming emotion in the Midwest, say "Uff da!" - everyone will know what you mean.</p>
