BYD launches EV Atto 3 SUV

New Delhi, Jan 27 () The country's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Monday said it has increased prices of select models by up to Rs 10,000 with immediate effect to offset the impact of rising input costs.
<p>The price change varies across models and ranges up to 4.7 per cent (ex-showroom Delhi) and are effective from  January, 27 2020, MSI said in a statement.
</p><p>The price of entry level model Alto range has gone up in the range of Rs 9,000-6,000, S-Presso between Rs 1,500 to 8,000, WagonR between Rs 1,500 and Rs 4,000.
</p><p>The company has also increased the price of its multi purpose vehicle Ertiga  between Rs 4,000-10,000, Baleno by Rs 3,000 to 8,000 and XL6 by up to Rs 5,000 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
</p>Currently, the company sells a range of vehicles starting from entry-level small car Alto to premium multi purpose vehicle XL6 with price ranging from Rs 2.89 lakh to Rs 11.47 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).   MSS

Maruti hikes select model prices by up to Rs 10,000

New Delhi, Mar 16 () Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Monday said it has launched BS-VI compliant CNG version of its multi-purpose van Eeco, priced between Rs 4.64 lakh and Rs 5.06 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).<p> The company had first introduced Eeco in January 2010 and has sold around 6.7 lakh units of the model till date.</p><p> "The multi-purpose van has earned the distinction of being ideal for family travel, while simultaneously being a dependable business vehicle. Taking forward its legacy, Eeco BS6 S-CNG is designed to deliver optimum performance, safety, engine durability, convenience and mileage," MSI Executive Director (Marketing &amp; Sales) Shashank Srivastava said in a statement.</p><p> The Eeco CNG variant comes equipped with factory fitted S-CNG kit which is calibrated to deliver optimum performance and enhanced drivability across all kinds of terrains, the statement said.</p><p> Maruti Suzuki Eeco is offered in a wide range of 12 variants with 5-seater, 7-seater, cargo and ambulance options.</p> Having already sold 1 million green vehicles, including CNG, smart hybrid vehicles, MSI aims to sell the next 1 million green vehicles in a couple of years, spearheading their mass adoption across the country. Maruti launches BS-VI compliant CNG version of Eeco priced at Rs 4.64 lakh

Greater Noida, Feb 7 () Maruti Suzuki on Friday launched the BS VI-compliant version of its multi purpose vehicle Ertiga in CNG, priced at Rs 8.95 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi) here. <p>Ertiga S-CNG, which offers a mileage of 28.06 km/kg is second BS VI compliant S-CNG vehicle and the only MPV with factory-fitted CNG in the country, from Maruti Suzuki, the company said. </p><p>"Ertiga has been a market leader amongst MPVs, and the introduction of BS6 S-CNG will further help augment its leadership in the segment, " Maruti Suzuki India Limited's director for sales and marketing, Shashank Shrivastava said. </p><p>The company has sold over 5.28 lakh units of Ertiga since its launch in India in 2012.</p><p>Being the first company to introduce factory-fitted CNG cars in the  country, Maruti Suzuki owns the largest portfolio of green vehicles, he said. </p><p>The launch of  S-CNG vehicle range is aligned to and complements the Government's vision of reducing oil import and enhancing the share of natural gas in the energy basket of the country from 6.2 per cent now to 15 per cent by 2030, the company said. </p>Maruti Suzuki S-CNG vehicles are equipped with dual inter-dependent ECUs (electronic control units) and intelligent injection system. Greater Noida, Feb 7 ( ) MG Motor India on Friday unveiled its premium SUV Gloster and MPV G10 in the luxury segment at the Auto Expo here.<p> These new models are scheduled to be launched in the domestic market later this year, the company said.</p><p> "The launch of Gloster and G10 will mark our entry in the luxury Sport utility vehicle (SUV) and Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) segments respectively. We are confident that, with its best-in-class features, specifications and performance, the Gloster will be a benchmark for luxury SUVs in India with its launch later this year and G10 will also follow soon," MG Motor India President and Managing Director Rajiv Chhaba said.</p><p> The G10, which is expected to give a direct competition to Kia Motors MPV Carnival, is sold globally in markets such as Australia, New Zealand, Middle-East, South American and ASEAN countries.</p><p> It comes with features such as various seating configurations, touch-free smart sensing rear door and smart automatic sliding doors, among others.</p> At Auto Expo 2020, MG Motor has showcased as many as 14 advanced vehicles across hatchback, sedans, and utility vehicle segments. New Delhi, Mar 16 () South Korean auto major Hyundai is preparing to have a crack again at the premium SUV segment in India dominated by Toyota's Fortuner as part of plans to strengthen overall leadership in the segment, according to a top company official.<p> The company, which on Monday launched the all-new version of its popular SUV Creta with price between Rs 9.9-17.2 lakh, is also planning to bring "multi-seater high occupancy vehicle" to play in multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) segment currently dominated by the likes of Toyota's Innova Crysta, Maruti Suzuki's Ertiga and Kia's new entrant Carnival.</p><p> "We are very cautiously studying the feasibility of having something in that segment. In the past we tried to enter into that segment many times but were not successful due to various reasons," Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) Managing Director and CEO S S Kim told .</p><p> He was responding to a query on whether the company has given up the premium segment of SUV where it used to sell SantaFe model and competed with the likes of Toyota Furtuner and Ford Endeavour.</p><p> "We are studying and reviewing the segment and demand, customer response and their preference. If we come up with some solution we might be much more concrete in the matter but right now we are only studying," Kim said.</p><p> Commenting on the company's resolve to maintain leadership in the SUV segment, he said with four SUVs -- Creta, Venue, Kona and Tucson -- HMIL was able to become the market leader in the second half of last year at a time when the previous generation Creta was on the decline and the Venue was newly introduced.</p><p> "Now, we definitely want to maintain this leadership," he said adding SUVs contribute 33 per cent to HMIL's total sales, while in 2019 the SUV segment contributed 25 per cent of industry passenger vehicle sales.</p><p> According to SIAM, in the April-February period this fiscal, utility vehicle sales stood at 8,94,441 units as compared to 8,48,268 units in the year-ago period, a growth of 5.44 per cent.</p><p> Exuding confidence on the new Creta to withstand competition from new challengers like Kia Seltos and MG Motor Hector, Kim said the model has a strong brand equity in the Indian market having sold over 5 lakh units.</p><p> "I would say that our new Creta will be quite superior in terms of features and performance of vehicle. We are quite sure that it will be welcomed by the customer and successful in terms of customer and dealer response," he said adding HMIL has already received over 14,000 bookings in just over a week of opening without its full priced being disclosed.</p><p> HMIL along with its vendors had invested close to Rs 1,500 crore in the development of the second generation Creta.</p><p> When asked about the gap in HMIL's portfolio in the MPV segment, he said,"Our approach has much more focus on high occupancy vehicle type. So, they can be covered by MPV, but at the same time they can be covered by any multi-seater vehicle."</p> When asked for details, Kim said,"We are considering both the options. Working on premium SUV, MPV: Hyundai Motor India

Car market leader <keyword id="6365618" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="maruti-suzuki-india">Maruti Suzuki India</keyword> on Wednesday said it will increase prices of its vehicles from January to offset the <keyword id="1721585" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="adverse-impact">adverse impact</keyword> of rising <keyword id="182533" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="input-costs">input costs</keyword>. Over the past year, cost of the company's vehicles have been impacted adversely due to increase in various input costs, <keyword id="44883" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maruti-Suzuki">Maruti Suzuki</keyword> India said in a regulatory filing. <br /><br />"Hence, it has become imperative for the company to pass on some impact of the above additional cost to customers through a price increase in January 2021. This price increase shall vary for different models," it added. <br /><br />At present Maruti Suzuki sells a range of vehicles from entry-level small car Alto with price starting at Rs 2.95 lakh to multi-purpose vehicle XL6 priced up to Rs 11.52 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). <br /><br />The company's announcement comes at a time when the carmaker is recovering from the lockdown induced disruptions. Maruti Suzuki India to hike prices from January to cover rising input costs

In an effort to cement its position in the country, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=hyundai+motor+india">Hyundai Motor India</a> is planning to launch 2-3 new models every year till 2020.<br />

The second largest car maker in India wants one per cent growth in its market share each year with its <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=car+launch">car launches</a>.<br />
 <br /> "In the last two years we have launched seven models. New Delhi, May 11 () The Competition Commission on Monday dismissed a complaint of alleged unfair business practices against Eicher Polaris, Eicher Motors and Polaris Industries Inc.<p> Eicher Polaris is a joint venture between Eicher Motors and Polaris Industries.</p><p> The complaint was filed by Multix Owners and Users Welfare Society, a Kerala-based social organization for the purpose of redressal of grievances of MULTIX (personal and multi utility vehicle) owners and consumers.</p><p> As per the complaint, a regulatory filing was filed by Eicher which informed that board of directors of Eicher Polaris had decided to close its operations.</p><p> The informant alleged that Eicher Motors had assured  to provide spares and service support for the fleet of MULTIX vehicles on the road, but failed to do so.</p><p> The informant alleged that the opposite parties violated section 3 and 4 of the Act by not providing genuine spare parts of MULTIX vehicles for maintenance and repair services in the open market, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) noted.</p><p> Opposite parties refer to Eicher Polaris, Eicher Motors and Polaris Industries Inc.</p><p> However, CCI said that Eicher Polaris appears to have closed its operations due to insufficient demand and unviable business proposition.</p> In these circumstances and in the absence of any material to support the allegations, the Commission is not inclined to interfere in the present matter, the regulator added. New Delhi, Feb 26 () Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) on Wednesday launched self-charging hybrid electric luxury multi-purpose vehicle Vellfire in the country priced at Rs 79.5 lakh (ex-showroom).<p> Equipped with a 2.5 litre gasoline hybrid engine coupled with two electric motors and a hybrid battery, the model churns out a power of 115 BHP.</p><p> The seven-seater model comes with various luxury features like lounge seats in second row, leather upholstery, three zone AC, one-touch power side doors, twin sunroofs among others.</p><p> The company claimed a fuel efficiency of 16.35 km/litre for the new model.</p><p> "The automotive industry in India is undergoing a profound technology-driven transformation with innovation and creativity defining the overall customer experience. As industry leaders, it is imperative for us to challenge ourselves and provide customers with new breakthroughs that not only promises magnificence and comfort, but also contributes to the well-being of the ecosystem," TKM Vice Chairman Vikram Kirloskar said in a statement.</p><p> The company has environmentally sustainable solutions at the heart of all its business operations and every single vehicle that is manufactured in the plant, he added.</p><p> Commenting on the launch, TKM Managing Director Masakazu Yoshimura said the company globally has a caravan of luxury offerings, and the launch of  Vellfire in India marks a significant moment in the company's journey.</p><p> "The Vellfire is an icon of ultimate luxury whilst envisaging a greener future. Today's announcement is a significant step in our mid-to-long-term plan to achieve Zero CO2 challenge. We will continue to work for mass electrification thus moving towards the goal of sustainable mobility," he added.</p><p> The new model comes with seven airbags, vehicle dynamics integrated management (VDIM), emergency brake signal, hill-start assist control (HAC) and vehicle stability control (VSC).</p><p> It also comes with electronic AWD (all wheel drive) function.</p><p> "Our new offering truly encapsulates Toyota's class defining technology, comfort, elegance and sustainability and it gives us immense pleasure to bring such a renowned vehicle to India," TKM Senior Vice President Naveen Soni said.</p> The first three months of shipment of the model has been sold out, he added.
