New Delhi, <keyword id="20730654" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mukka-proteins" source="keywords">Mukka Proteins</keyword>, which manufactures fish meal, fish oil, and fish soluble paste, on Monday fixed a price band of Rs 26-28 apiece, for its Rs 224 crore <keyword id="19913114" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="initial-public-offering" source="keywords">Initial Public Offering</keyword> (IPO). The company's maiden public issue will open for subscription on February 29 and conclude on March 4. The issue is entirely a fresh issue of up to 8 crore equity shares aggregating to Rs 224 crore at the upper end of the price band, with no Offer For Sale (OFS) component, Manguluru-based company said. Of the total proceeds, Rs 120 crore will be used towards working capital requirements and up to Rs 10 crore for investment in its associate, Ento Proteins, for funding its working capital requirements. Besides, a portion will be used for general corporate purposes. Investors can bid for a minimum of 535 equity shares and in multiples of 535 equity shares thereafter. Mukka Proteins is one of the key players in India's fish protein sector. Furthermore, fish oil has diverse applications, including pharmaceuticals (particularly in EPA-DHA extraction for nutraceuticals), soap making, leather treatment, and paint manufacturing. In the fiscal year 2023, the company contributed between 25 per cent and 30 per cent of the Indian fish meal and fish oil industry's revenue, estimated to be between Rs 3,200 crore and Rs 4,100 crore, as per a <keyword id="19898320" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="crisil" source="keywords">Crisil</keyword> report cited in the RHP (Red Herring Prospectus). Apple introduces new MacBook Air laptop with M3 chip

The BSE <keyword id="19896382" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sensex" source="keywords">Sensex</keyword> dropped by 195.16 points, closing at 73,677.13, while the <keyword id="19896381" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="nifty" source="keywords">Nifty</keyword> shed 49.30 points to close at 22,356.30. Among the Nifty companies, 21 witnessed advances, while 29 declined. At the closing bell, <keyword id="19906967" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tata-motors" source="keywords">Tata Motors</keyword>, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Auto, SBI, and ONGC emerged as the top gainers, while <keyword id="19950210" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bajaj-finserv" source="keywords">Bajaj Finserv</keyword>, <keyword id="19955371" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bajaj-finance" source="keywords">Bajaj Finance</keyword>, Nestle India, Infosys, and TCS were among the top losers. In Europe, shares moved lower, reflecting investor caution ahead of key economic data releases". On the commodities front, gold prices steadied near a three-month peak, supported by subdued US manufacturing and construction spending data. Meanwhile, crude oil prices continued to decrease due to demand headwinds, despite OPEC's decision to extend voluntary output cuts. Brent futures stood at USD 82.70 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) settled at USD 78.57 a barrel. The day's trading session highlighted the volatility and cautious sentiment prevailing in the global financial markets, as investors closely monitored economic indicators and geopolitical developments for further cues. The stock closed at ₹360, which is ₹41 below its issue price of ₹401. Its market capitalization is at ₹4,486 crore, as per the Bombay Stock Exchange. Gopal Snacks makes a wide variety of savoury snacks under the Gopal brand. Its portfolio has 84 products across 276 stock-keeping units. Low expectations and bad timing Analysts had been worried that the company’s listing would be affected by the small-cap stocks crash. Yesterday, the stock of J G Chemicals slipped 16% below the issue price on its debut, in line with a crash in the broader stock markets. “While considering subdued secondary market scenario and continued selling pressure seen in mid &amp; small caps spaces, Gopal may be the victim and listing can be on a flat to muted note,” said <keyword id="20226500" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="prashanth-tapse" source="keywords">Prashanth Tapse</keyword>, senior VP of research at Mehta Equities. Yet it has seen good subscription levels, and interest before the small stocks’ crash. A long-term prospect? The popular ghatia maker’s ₹650 crore initial public offer was subscribed nine times the shares on offer with good interest from institutional investors. It also raised ₹194 crore from anchor investors like DSP Mutual Fund, Quant Mutual Fund, IIFL Wealth &amp; Asset Management and more; ahead of the offer. “We believe this listing gives an opportunity to investors to accumulate the growth story for the long term. German carmaker Mercedes-Benz expects <keyword id="19895063" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="india" source="keywords">India</keyword> to become its third biggest market in its 'Region Overseas' over the next 2-3 years with demand anticipated to remain strong for luxury products, according to a senior company executive. The Region Overseas for <keyword id="20034825" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mercedes-benz" source="keywords">Mercedes Benz</keyword> comprises 118 countries, excluding North America, Europe and China. India is the fifth largest market in the region after Japan, South Korea, Australia and Turkey. The sales gap between India and Turkey is around 8,000 units per year. "Our Region Overseas markets which encompass 118 markets across the world and India happens to be market number five for us. So you can imagine the relevance and importance it serves not only today, but also for the future of the Mercedes Benz brand," Mercedes-Benz AG Head of Region Overseas, <keyword id="20836954" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sagree-sardien" source="keywords">Sagree Sardien</keyword> told reporters here. When asked about the expected timeframe to achieve the target, she stated, "We are convinced that with the way the Indian market is developing, we should see this happening in the next two to three years." Terming India a strategic market for the brand, <keyword id="20836953" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sardien" source="keywords">Sardien</keyword> noted that the company has seen sales of its high-end models grow in double digits for the last couple of years and expects the same to continue this year and beyond. She noted that the company will add 12 new models, including three battery electric vehicles, in the market this year. The company also plans to tap smaller cities as it looks to establish sales outlets in 10 new locations ranging from Jammu to <keyword id="19910725" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="kottayam" source="keywords">Kottayam</keyword> to scale operations, Sardien stated. Mercedes-Benz India reported its highest ever sales of 17,408 units in 2023. Sardien said the electrification journey in India is picking up slowly for Mercedes-Benz with 4 per cent of total sales in the country coming from EVs. "I completely believe that we will see a double-digit (growth) in electrification for our product range within this market," she said. "Customers' preferences are obviously at a much slower pace than the demand we expected," she said adding the company would go according to the transformation of customers. Sardien noted that the company will not change its strategic direction. "It is clear that the future is electric for us, but we ensure that we cater for our customers' changing preferences and where market conditions are actually allowing," she said. When asked about the potential of the overall luxury car market in India, Sardien said it can touch 1 lakh unit mark probably by the end of this decade. "But I think there are some fundamental things that need to happen in the market and it is highly dependent on how customers transition here between the combustion engine and the battery electric vehicle architecture," she added. The luxury car market in India is around 47,000 units per annum and remains a miniscule part of the overall passenger vehicle segment which crossed the 41 lakh units mark last year.
