IndiGo stock slips 4.5% as 18 million shares exchange hands via block deals

Most people infected with the SARS-CoV2 virus recover within 12 months, irrespective of the severity, say researchers, including one of Indian origin. The study, published in the <keyword id="3227648" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="european-respiratory-journal" source="Orion">European Respiratory Journal</keyword>, showed that although 75 per cent had recovered at the 12-month mark after becoming ill with the virus, 25 per cent of patients still had at least one of the three most common symptoms, including coughing, fatigue, and breathlessness. "Generally, one should not worry if they are feeling unwell right after their infection, as the chances of recovering within 12 months is very high, and just because you have typical long-Covid symptoms at three months does not mean they will stay forever," said senior author <keyword id="15056444" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="manali-mukherjee" source="Orion">Manali Mukherjee</keyword> from <keyword id="208017" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="mcmaster-university" source="Orion">McMaster University</keyword>. Researchers also found that patients with persistent symptoms also had antibodies associated with autoimmune illnesses, as well as raised levels of cytokines, which cause inflammation. For the study, the team gleaned the results by surveying 106 people recovering from Covid-19 infections at three, six and 12 months after contracting the disease. Most long-Covid patients recover within a year: Study

The annual premium amount for 31 life insurance policies of <keyword id="55334" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="arpita-mukherjee" source="Orion">Arpita Mukherjee</keyword>, perceived to the closest confidant of former minister <keyword id="6360499" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="partha-chatterjee" source="Orion">Partha Chatterjee</keyword> in the multi-crore <keyword id="1471058" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="west-bengal-school-service-commission" source="Orion">West Bengal School Service Commission</keyword> (WBSSC) scam, is to the tune of Rs 1.5 crore, according to the <keyword id="6357808" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="enforcement-directorate" source="Orion">Enforcement Directorate</keyword> (ED). The figure was quoted by the probe agency in its first charge sheet that was submitted to a special ED court on Monday. It is also mentioned that Chatterjee himself was the nominee for most of these life insurance policies. What is more interesting is that such a huge premium was paid from the different bank accounts of the former state education minister, as per records of bank statements recovered by the central agency sleuths. In these policies, Chatterjee was mentioned as <keyword id="6364914" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="mukherjee" source="Orion">Mukherjee</keyword>'s uncle. "This entire sequence of insurance policies and their payment process are proof enough to nullify the argument raised by some sections that Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee were mere acquaintances. These life insurance policies are solid proof of how intimate the two were," said an ED official. Apart from these lpolicies, some other land property jointly owned by Chatterjee and Mukherjee will also come handy for the central agency sleuths to establish the intimate relationship between the duo, the official noted. In the charge sheet, the ED hasnamed a total eight persons -- Chatterjee, Mukherjee and six directors of shell companies floated with the purpose of diverting scam proceeds to different channels. The probe agency has mentioned assets worth Rs 103.10 crore held by Chatterjee and Mukherjee. ED officials said that the assets include cash amounting to Rs 49.80 crore and gold worth Rs 5.08 crore seized from the two residences of Mukherjee in Kolkata in July. The remaining amount is in the form of other immoveable assets like bank deposits, property in the form of land and residences and investment in a number of companies. It has also named Chatterjee and Mukherjee as the prime accused in the scam. With its campaign featuring Alia Bhatt, Mohey promoted women empowerment and gave a more gender-sensitive touch to the age-old tradition of ‘Kanyandaan’ in Hindu weddings and insisted on bringing in ‘Kanyamaan’ instead. “Through the film, Mohey’s brand ambassador Alia Bhatt questions the conventional beliefs that require a daughter to conform to being ‘given away’ at her wedding. She makes a choice on her wedding day to rethink rituals, stating what Kanyadaan means in modern times, making it more equal and progressive for her present and future generations,” explained its press release. However, this campaign did not sit well with Twitter users. It flared up a controversy on social media and the hashtag #BoycottManyavar started trending on Twitter. Twitterati alleged that the campaign purposely tried to hurt religious sentiments by associating the name ‘Jashn-e-Riwaaz’ with Diwali, a Hindu festival. They even had a problem with women not wearing their badges of being married such as bindis, bangles and sindoor. Tejasvi Surya, MP and National President of the BJP Yuva Morcha had tweeted, “Deepavali is not Jash-e-Riwaaz. This deliberate attempt of abrahamisation of Hindu festivals, depicting models without traditional Hindu attires, must be called out. Brands like Fabindia must face economic costs for such deliberate misadventures.” Soon after that tweet, FabIndia deleted its post across social media and renamed its collection to ‘Jilmil-si-Diwali.’ Sabyasachi The designer brand was trolled heavily for allegedly hurting religious sentiments by promoting their ‘Royal Bengal Mangalsutra,’ which is a part of their Intimate Fine Jewellery line. The ace designer behind it, <keyword id="7202" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sabyasachi-mukherjee" source="Orion">Sabyasachi Mukherjee</keyword>, decided to withdraw the campaign after it triggered an avalanche of online trolling for hurting religious sentiments. He has been hospitalized for the past 21 days and been critical following a brain surgery. The hospital authorities stated: "There is a decline in the medical condition of Pranab Mukherjee since yesterday." The doctors further pointed out that he is in septic shock due to his lung infection and is being managed by a team of specialists. "He continues to be in a deep coma and on ventilator support," the authorities said. There was a slight improvement in Mukherjee's health condition last week thereafter it deteriorated when he developed lung infection. Mukherjee was also found to be Covid-19 positive when he was admitted on August 10 for life-saving emergency surgery for a brain clot. There has been no improvement in his health status since. The veteran leader was admitted to the hospital at 12.07 p.m. on August 10 in a critical condition.
