<p>I've always preferred playing video games on PC over consoles because I can't get used to console controllers for the types of games I play, including first-person shooters (FPS) like the "Battlefield" series, as well as third-person games like "GTA V" and "The Division."</p><p>I simply don't get the same level of accuracy and control with a console controller as I do with the good ol' fashioned keyboard and mouse. <p class="p2"><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Logitech, which creates and sells many peripherals and accessories for computers and electronic devices, says the Hyperion Fury is the fastest gaming mouse in the world thanks to its new "Fusion Engine" technology, which tracks the data from the mouse's standard optical sensor, built-in gyroscope, and accelerometer to deliver tracking speeds of more than 500 inches per second, "which is a speed that's nearly impossible for a human arm to reach when using a mouse," according to Chris Pate, product manager of Logitech's gaming arm, Logitech G.</span></p>
<p class="p2"><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Pate also said the Hyperion Fury uses Logitech's Delta Zero technology, which is used in the company's other mice to ensure "pinpoint accuracy from the optical sensor."</span></p>

Over the years we have seen the brand give us some of the most aggressive gaming machines, be it the Strix Skar or the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/tech/news/asus-rog-zephyrus-duo-16-review-a-powerful-gaming-laptop-with-a-unique-design-and-a-premium-price-tag/articleshow/99055543.cms">Asus ROG Zephyrous Duo 16</a>. The brand has always pushed the envelope with striking laptops which are powerful and also sometimes very expensive. Now, they have presented the ROG Ally, a handheld gaming PC. I say PC here, because it essentially is a PC running on Windows 11, and packs in a Ryzen Z1Extreme CPU. In a form factor favorable for gaming, the ROG Ally does seem to crack the code for mobile gaming. So what can you expect from this new device? And can it replace your gaming PC? I will tell you in my full review.<br /><br /><strong>Price &amp; Availability</strong><br />Asus ROG Ally is available in only one variant, which packs in 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. Priced at ₹69,990, you can buy it from Flipkart and Asus offline stores. <br /><br /><strong>Design &amp; Display<br />  <div type="image" title="The ROG Ally&amp;#39;s display elevates the experience." msid="102127820" hostid="261" sizebytes="900317" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The ROG Ally&amp;#39;s display elevates the experience.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div></strong>My experience of handheld gaming devices is limited to Sony’s Playstation Portable, which back in the day ruled the space. The UMD’s, the Sony exclusive titles and of course the form factor made sure the experience was wholesome. But that’s about it, I have not spent much time with the newer options like Steam Deck or Nintendo Switch. I am admittedly a console guy, sticking to my Playstation for good. <br /><br />So Asus ROG Ally, is my first proper re-introduction of the form factor, and so far I have been impressed with the design. Asus has paid attention to details here, from the weight distribution to the size, everything feels just right. At 11-inches wide, it is not a small device by any means, but the form factor makes it convenient to hold, and you will get used to the size very quickly. The textured diamond shape grip running across the device, also helps to maintain a comfortable hold. <br /><br /><div type="image" title="Irrespective of the form factor Asus has been liberal with connectivity options." msid="102128092" hostid="261" sizebytes="399302" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Irrespective of the form factor Asus has been liberal with connectivity options.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div><br />While yes, it is a fairly big device, Asus has justified the real estate with a very well laid out game pad here. On the front you have two joysticks, and an X-Box style ABXY button array paired with a D-pad. There ofcourse you have multiple triggers on the right and left edge of the gaming device. You also get triggers on the bottom. And yes, all of these buttons are configurable, we will talk about the implication of this element in the performance section. <br /><br />Aesthetics are of major importance here, since we do see the signature ROG LED set-up running around the joystick. They add a character to the product, and can be configured as well. <br />We also have dedicated buttons upfront for Asus’ armory crate, menu, and a dedicated button for the full armory launch system. All of which are conveniently placed and provide a tactile feel.<br /><br />On the top, we find a power button which doubles up as a finger-print sensor for Windows Hello. It is snappy to unlock the device, and provides optimal security. Placed next to it are the volume rockers. There is also a USB Type-C charging port, which can be used to connect mouse and keyboard if you wish to. <br /><br />Now, since this is essentially a PC equipped to deliver performance through graphically demanding games, it does have a cooling system in place. And yes, you do see vents on the machine as well. They work efficiently, which we will cover in the performance section, but they also make me nervous. <br /><br />Unfortunately, unlike the other ROG devices, we don’t have the staple Asus MIL-STD rating here. Which is understandable, it is a very different form factor. But there is no IP rating either, a common element in mobile devices. This is discouraging to me, considering this device is meant to travel with a user everywhere. I did put it through some rough usage, like carrying it without a case in my bag and it didn’t falter the performance. However, I would hope the next iteration has some form of protection rating to it. This will instill more confidence in the user. <br /><br />Another knit pick with the ROG Ally’s design is the lack of a stand that it misses out. The Asus team said it was done to maintain the weight but I hope this too is taken care of in the next iteration. <br />Now, moving to the display. The ROG Ally features a 7-inch 1080P touch-sensitive display with a 120Hz refresh rate. For a device of this nature, Asus has done a commendable job with the panel. It is optimally bright, and you will enjoy playing your favorite titles on this one. <br /><br />The display projects crisp video output, and is at par with some of the best smartphone display’s that I have experienced. Which to me, is a big win. As in any mobile device, having a good display is crucial for a user, but here it was even more important. <br /><br />Convincing a PC gamer to believe in the product required the display to score a home run, and that’s exactly what the ROG ally’s display does.<br /><br />So be it a rushed gameplay of CS:GO or cinematic cut-scenes of God of War, the screen projected everything clearly. Having played God of War on a 4K TV, I didn’t feel like I was missing out on anything when I fired it up here. The display is also quite optimal for watching content if you wish to. And it is very convenient here considering you can browse or stream any platform here. <br /><br />Since the display is also touch sensitive, and with a very impressive response time you can also scrub through content. <br /><br />The audio set-up here is a bit underwhelming when put against the display especially when it comes to watching content. The front firing speakers are decently loud, but lack a punch. This isn’t a deal breaker though, because they are optimal for gaming. <br /><br /><strong>Software</strong><br />Asus<div type="image" title="ROG Ally runs a full fledged Windows 11." msid="102128060" hostid="261" sizebytes="797471" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;ROG Ally runs a full fledged Windows 11.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div>’ big win with the Ally has to be the software. This machine runs Windows 11, like any regular PC. And no, it’s not a toned down version of the OS, it is a fully functioning Windows OS, which behaves and reacts like one. This has both pros and cons to the experience.<br /><br />The most obvious pro is the access to all major online gaming platforms like Xbox Live and Steam. And with that Asus has managed to retain the Armory crate tweaked with a new outlay for the Ally. Of course all of this can be accessed with the help of various shortcut keys which I mentioned in the design section. <br /><br />While the Windows 11 OS has various benefits to it, it still isn’t very well equipped for mobile devices. Yes, Asus has tinkered the device for you to use joysticks and ABXY pad to browse around, yet I found myself punching the screen more often. This gets very inconvenient after a while. I wish there was a more gaming oriented avatar of Windows 11 which we could see here.<br /><br />As in any mobile device convenience should be a top priority, and navigating through Windows 11 here can be the opposite. However, it's not all bad. <br /><br />Since this is essentially a miniaturized Windows PC, you can hook it up with a screen and use it like one. I have, and I was mighty impressed with how smoothly it ran. And this is a silent machine, something we cover in the next section. When I was bored with the hand-held experience I turned it into a PC, and it felt worthwhile. <br /><br /><strong>Performance<br /><div type="image" title="ROG can be used in multiple form factor." msid="102128342" hostid="261" sizebytes="1023045" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;ROG can be used in multiple form factor.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div></strong><br />Asus ROG Ally runs on a brand new AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme CPU, which is built for mobile gaming devices.This is a Zen 4 CPU, built on an advanced 4-nanometer architecture, boasting 8 cores and 16 threads, and a clock speed that can reach up to 5.1 GHz. The CPU is paired with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 512GB SSD storage. <br /><br />I have tested the ROG Ally with my favorite titles that I enjoy on PC and my Playstation. God of War &amp; CS:GO. And ofcourse GTA V. Apparently no device can be dubbed a gaming device if you don’t play GTA on it. <br /><br />While yes, the frame rates weren’t very high on the ROG Ally, the performance was respectable for something running on battery. CS:GO saw the device projecting 90FPS consistently, which was smooth. While God of War switched between 40-60FPS non-stop. GTA V had the similar story. I have to mention that the performance slightly jumps up with the device running on power. <br /><br />Yes, the gaming performance isn’t at par with a high-end PC, but does it tamper the fun? Definitely not. You are essentially running demanding titles on a device 1/5th the size of a PC. This is innovation at its finest. <br /><br />Asus has also managed the thermals efficiently on the Ally, and I didn’t face any ugly heating issues here. The device ran smoothly at all times without making me uncomfortable, even when connected to power. <br /><br />The 16GB of RAM efficiently runs most applications on the device, and provides quick boot up speeds. I have not faced any issues jumping between applications and games during my testing. <br /><br />Storage might be a concern here, with 512GB proving to be limited for some users. However, Asus does provide solutions for storage expansion so you can look into them. <br /><br />Finally, the battery life. Asus claims 6 hours of gaming and 11 hours of video playback on the ROG Ally. The real number is pretty close to the claim, mostly depending on the setting and game you are playing. I was averaging at four and a half hours of gaming on the device with a respectful HD setting. Video playback was about 9 hours with maxed out brightness. This is a solid number. <br /><br /><strong>Verdict</strong><br />Asus ROG Ally can be dubbed the first real moment for a miniaturized PC gaming solution that the market needs. It covers mostly everything that a gamer needs in a form factor that is convenient. Yes there are some rough edges, but they do not tamper with the performance. At ₹69,990, this is a luxury purchase, but it is worthwhile if you have the budget. <br /><br /><br /><br />

Self-admittingly the brand was also surprised with the bumper response the device received, flying off the shelves in minutes. The supply couldn’t keep up with the demand. Riding on that success, Xiaomi this year is back with the Pad 6. Taking lessons from the response from the Pad 5, the brand claims we can expect a different experience here. Having reviewed the Pad 5 last year, I believe I can be a judge of that. So, are these changes incremental? And can this device go against the likes of <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/tech/gadgets/news/oneplus-pad-review-feature-packed-tablet-with-a-sleek-design/articleshow/99848436.cms">OnePlus Pad</a> or the mighty iPad Pro? I answer this in my review. <br /><br />Xiaomi has also introduced a new keyboard case along with the smart pen 2. I will be touching upon them as well. <br /><br /><strong>Price &amp; Availability</strong><br />Xiaomi Pad 6 will be available in two variants. There is a variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage priced at ₹26,999 . Then there is a variant with the same 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage priced at ₹28,999. Since, the Pad 6 not only feels premium, but also lighter in the hands. The weight distribution is commendable, and irrespective of the size I didn’t find any issue maintaining a grip around it. The flat edges also help in holding it better, something that the iPad is famous for. <br /><br />Xiaomi seems to be taking inspiration for the camera module on the tablets from their flagship smartphones. The Pad 5’s camera module resembled the 11 Pro’s while the Pad 6’s resembles the Xiaomi 13 Pro. It does look subtle here, given the massive real estate on the back, however there is some wobble to it. Something that totally vanishes once you slap on the case. <br /><br />The review variant with me is in a graphite grey color, which looks nice, but does register fingerprint smudges easily. It comes with an IP53 dust and water resistant rating, important if you travel with your devices. <br /><br />Xiaomi Pad 6 does not feature a fingerprint scanner, something I complained about last year as well. You are dependent on the optical set-up to unlock the device or feed in the passcode. On the bottom we have a USB Type-C port which is now upgraded and is compatible with HDMI output. A crucial step to bridge the gap between tablets and consumer PCs. You can also connect a wired mouse and keyboard with an extension here. I tested it out, and liked it a lot. For that matter, this section of the review is written with the help of a third party wired keyboard. <br /><br />On the right side we have the volume rockers which are tactile and work well. It’s an IPS LCD panel with 1800x2880 pixels resolution. Xiaomi has taken care of the bezel situation this time, since they are slimmer than what we saw last year. This is a welcoming change, however it still is a LCD panel and not an OLED.<br /><br />The viewing experience on the Xiaomi Pad 6 is more or less the same as the Pad 5. The display can be characterized by its vibrant illumination and ability to render natural colors while preserving intricate details. However, it should be noted that the black levels, particularly in the corners, could be improved, although this is a common characteristic of LCD screens.<br /><br />The Xiaomi Pad 6 does support HDR10+ along with Dolby Atmos across all the compatible apps. So if you are primarily buying the tablet to watch content you are in good hands. The content across all OTT apps bounce out and looks great. However, it’s not just the virtual prowess that stands out; the audio set-up here is also top-notch. The quad speaker set-up fires audio parallelly which delivers room filling audio. I doubt anyone would need to use it, or realize that it exists but it does. <br /><br />There are a couple of areas Xiaomi Pad 6 has improved over the Pad 5. Like an improved 144Hz max refresh rate. Moreover it can switch between 7 stages of refresh rate with a max refresh rate of 144Hz. This basically covers all your needs- gaming to reading on the web. And the responsiveness of the tablet is in fact top tier across all use cases. <br /><br />While the auto-switch does work well, I preferred keeping the tablet on 144Hz throughout my testing. The trade in for a negligible dip in battery is worth it. <br /><br />    <div type="image" title="Xiaomi Smart Pen 2" msid="100958716" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Xiaomi Smart Pen 2&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div><br />Now to compliment this display we do have a newly designed Xiaomi Smart Pen 2. The design change is utilitarian, with two hard press buttons adding to the convenience. From clicking screenshots to switching between different pen styles the SmartPen 2 is more democratic with your usage. It is also very responsive, be it taking notes or just doodling in general. You can also design with it, especially given the battery life here is solid at 150 hours. Moreover a minute of charge can give you 7 hours of battery life. Technically this thing is unkillable if you keep your pad charged up at all times. Xiaomi Pad 6 does not work with last year's Smart Pen. This implies that a user needs to buy the newer smart pen even if they might have an existing unit. Any brand trying to create an enclosed ecosystem has to be more liberal, and backward compatibility is a major factor to hold customers. Like we observed on the Xiaomi Pad 5, MiUi is optimized for a tablet here.<br /><br />Xiaomi has been able to retain what I liked about the Xiaomi Pad 5 last year, in this iteration as well. What comes as a bonus are some add-on features, many of them are useful but some of them are not. <br /><br />Before we move on to that, aesthetically, the MiUi 14 looks great on the tablet, and minimal bloatware is always appreciated. It retains its useability, with minimal effort required to understand how it works. Something crucial for tablet space considering there will be people buying it for their kids to study. <br /><br />Moving to the upgrades now in the UI. Just like last year you can open up to 2 apps together on the screen. While that was great given the screen size, you can now also pin another app on top and move it around. This comes in very handy for workflow management. Example, I maintain a spreadsheet for our Amazon Live Streams. This requires addition, creating tables and referring to video files as well. I could ditch my laptop and maintain this all on the Xiaomi Pad 6. <br /><br />The UI also provides shortcuts to change the display mode, which I used quite often while watching content. A factor that not a lot of people touch upon are the widgets on the Xiaomi Pad 6. My favorites being the calendar and email, cementing further that logistical productivity can be maintained here.<br /><br />Now talking about the add-ons that sit in the middle. They exist, but don’t have an immediate use case. Xiaomi is trying to build an ecosystem here, and the first step is to let their smartphones communicate with the Xiaomi Pad. The catch is - only one smartphone for now, the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/tech/news/xiaomi-13-pro-review-go-for-the-camera-stay-for-the-experience/articleshow/98326748.cms">Xiaomi 13 Pro.</a> <br /><br />Like the Apple devices, now you can update notes, click images and maintain communication between the devices easily. The UI also allows you to remotely use the 13 Pros camera to click images and update them in folders in real time.<br /><br /> All these features work smoothly, but the real question remains - how many people own the 13 Pro? While we can appreciate the inclusiveness Xiaomi is trying to build here, for now it seems half baked. I hope over time with OTA updates we can see more devices becoming compatible with this. <br /><br />Xiaomi does provide a saving grace with the promise of 3 years of software updates and 5 years of security updates on the device. <br /><br /><strong>Performance</strong><br />Xiaomi Pad 6 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC, which admittedly is a 2 year old processor. While the purists can complain about the relevance of the processor here and that it is too old, I tend to disagree. <br /><br />The new processor argument sits well with a smartphone more, compared to a tablet. Mostly because a tablet's use case is comparatively limited. While there can be other reasons for you to not consider the Xiaomi Pad 6, processor should not be one of them. <br /><br />Moving to the actual performance output on the Pad 6, I can put it in one word - optimal. The tablet can easily perform everyday tasks with a breeze. This involves internet surfing, watching content or basic computing. The apps are well optimized and when put together with the hardware do not let you down. <br /><br />The 8GB RAM on board can hold lighter apps for longer durations as well. So spreadsheets, calculators and other utilitarian apps work beautifully. There is a dip in performance when you switch to heavier apps. <br /><br />Games like COD: Mobile and asphalt 9 work decently on the tablet but I did notice heating after a spell of 20 minutes. The gameplay was smooth however, the RAM did struggle to hold them in place while I switched between apps. <br /><br />Internal storage here though is solid at 256GB which means you can download and store content, files and documents without breaking a sweat. And if you want additional storage, you can also hook up your hard drives with the USB-C port. <br /><br />This golden run of the Pad 6 comes to a hault with the absence of the SIM card slot here. Yes, just like last year the tablet will be available in WiFi only variant. This informally suggests that the Pad 6 is only an entertainment device, since utility requires network connectivity as well. <br /><br />Yes, you can take notes, download content, and then sync them up later. But, a dedicated SIM card here would add another layer of utility which I missed dearly.<br /><br />Battery life on the Xiaomi Pad 6 is solid, the 8840 mAh battery can easily last over 2 days with light usage. Over the weekend when I was binge watching content on it, I found myself charging it only at the end of the day. The 33W fast charger in the box takes about 2 and a half hours to charge it, which is good speed for a battery of this size. <br /><br />While I write this review I haven’t had the chance to check out the keyboard case. They are not worthy of your social media feed, but occasional photography is taken care of. <br /><br />Xiaomi understands the significance of document scanning and includes a document mode in the camera app, something we see in their smartphones as well now. You can convert them in different doc formats as well. <br /><br />While the main camera can shoot 4K videos up to 30fps, the results are underwhelming. <br /><br />Like last year ,the presence of a lens module on the back might give the impression of a dual-camera setup. Furthermore, its performance suffers in low-light conditions.<br /><br /><strong>Verdict</strong><br />Xiaomi Pad 6 strongly sets the future for the brand in the tablet space. The upgrades for now are more or less incremental, but given the right situation can be useful. What does stand out is the design and the UI. The smart pen 2 also adds to the experience making it easy to interact with. <br /><br />However, if you don’t want to compromise on the performance then you can look into the OnePlus Pad. And if you are in a creative field then I suggest taking the iPad route. <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />

The brand's entry into the tablet space after a long hiatus indicates how lucrative this segment has eventually become. Xiaomi Pad 5, on paper, is a beast of a tablet for its price with high-end specs and a competitive price tag. But is it really? I have spent 10 days with it and I have an answer to that. <br /><br /><strong>Price &amp; Availability<br /></strong>Xiaomi Pad 5 starts at ₹26,999 for the 6GB RAM &amp; 128GB storage capacity variant. There is another variant with 256GB storage capacity and similar RAM available at ₹28,999. You can buy it from Amazon or Mi’s store.<br /><br /><strong>Design - Feels Premium</strong><br />When I held the Xiaomi Pad 5 for the first time, I was really impressed with the premium feel. A design significantly inspired by Apple’s iPad Air, this latest tablet also sports a sleek frame. The materials used are different though. Xiaomi Pad 5 comes with a metal frame that encompasses a glass front and a plastic back. The tablet feels solid, and the weight distribution is favorable. At 500 grams, the Xiaomi Pad 5 is comfortable to hold, the flat edges allow you to maintain a firm grip around it, even with one hand.<br /><br />    <div type="image" title="Xiaomi Pad 5 sports a metal frame" msid="91647827" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Xiaomi Pad 5 sports a metal frame&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div><br />The color variant with me is the cosmic black, it’s subtle and looks chic. There are other options like Pearl white and Green, but I find this one to go well with the design. <br /><br />Turning the Xiaomi Pad 5 around introduces us to the camera bump, yes it is protruding, but it won’t bother you that much. Especially once you put a case on it. Other design characteristics include volume rockers which are on the top left if you are holding the tablet in landscape mode and on the right-hand side in portrait mode. There is a power lock and unlock button that is on the left side when you hold it in landscape mode and on the top right when you hold it in portrait mode.<br />    <div type="image" title="The Pad 5 is sleek" msid="91647836" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The Pad 5 is sleek&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> <br /><br />The buttons are tactile and feel robust. On the bottom, you will find the USB Type-C charging port next to the speaker grill.<br /><br />The lack of a fingerprint sensor definitely surprised me on the Xiaomi Pad 5. Since it has a respectable size just like the iPad. What does that mean for security? I talk about it in the latter half of the article. <br /><br />Another drawback is the lack of IP rating, which is disappointing. A major use case for a tablet is for people who like to travel and water resistance and durability becomes paramount in such use cases.<br /><br /><strong>Display<br /></strong>Xiaomi Pad 5 features an 11-inch 2.5K Display. It’s an IPS LCD panel with 1600x2560 pixels resolution. Before I get to the display quality, it’s important to highlight the chunky bezels we see around the panel. These bezels are thick and shiny and it might take some time for you to adjust to them. While they do not affect the actual display performance, they kept me distracted as it sticks out like a sore thumb.<br />    <div type="image" title="2.5K display on Xiaomi Pad 5 is of great quality" msid="91647847" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;2.5K display on Xiaomi Pad 5 is of great quality&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> <br /><br />Xiaomi has managed to provide a commendable display in this budget. It’s vibrant, well lit, and produces natural colors while retaining details. I do wish that the black levels were a bit better especially around the corners, but this is expected with an LCD. <br /><br />Like most other LCD panels, apps like Youtube let us set up a video to 4K, which is not true. That being said it’s fun to consume content on the Xiaomi Pad 5 with respect to the screen. Dolby Atmos support also adds a zing to watching movies from different OTT apps. I watched Batman V Superman (2016) and I thoroughly enjoyed it. <br /><br />The display also supports a max refresh rate of 120Hz. It is as fluid as one expects it to be, and the screen becomes a breeze to work around with. Xiaomi does not provide an adaptive refresh rate feature on the Xiaomi Pad 5, this to me is a missed opportunity. I might be knit-picking here but I feel it could have worked wonders on a tablet of this capacity. Yes, 120Hz is great, but an adaptive refresh rate means the screen could switch refresh rates according to the content on display.<br />    <div type="image" title="The bezels around the display are chunky" msid="91647854" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The bezels around the display are chunky&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div><br /><br />Unfortunately, Xiaomi fails to provide an efficient set-up on this tablet to compliment the screen. The quad speaker setup might sound hefty on paper but it is a disappointment in day to day usage. The main issue is the level of loudness as the volume gets damped in some situations - like when there’s a full-speed fan running in the same room.<br /><br />When I was watching something by myself I was mostly dependent on my TWS buds, and when it came to watching with others I connected a Bluetooth speaker. <br /><br /><strong>Stylus and Keyboard cover <br /></strong><br />It is with the display that we also get introduced to the first accessory, Xiaomi Smart Pen.<br />It’s sleek, and you can maintain a firm grip on it. There are buttons mounted on it, which have dedicated shortcuts on them. But does it do its job well? Yes, it does. As expected it makes your life easier when it comes to interacting with the display. I mostly used it to make notes, change volume levels, and do a bit of photo editing. In each of these use cases, the stylus never gave up on me.<br />    <div type="image" title="Xiaomi Smart Pen" msid="91647891" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Xiaomi Smart Pen under performs in graphic heavy tasks&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> <br /><br />That being said if you are a professional designer and create visual graphics, then the performance might lag behind the likes of Apple Pencil or S-Pen. Graphic intensive tasks usually require long-term interactions with the display, in this case, the pen starts to struggle. Like missing out on long strokes. The battery life of the stylus is favorable and at 100% capacity, it can last upto 3 days. Fortunately, it can be connected magnetically to the pad itself which also charges it. So, chances are most of the time the stylus will be sufficiently charged.<br /><br />Overall, if you chose to go for Pad 5 then, I would suggest spending another ₹4,999 for the stylus as well. <br /><br />Now that the stylus has been covered it's important to talk about the keyboard cover as well. Made of Good quality leather, the case, just like the device, also feels premium. It snaps right up on the Xiaomi Pad 5 and is easy to take off as well. However, I was struggling a bit when connecting the keyboard section. The magnetic strength hinders the smooth transition we get to see on a device like Samsung Galaxy Tab S8. I had to take out the tablet and attach it dedicatedly with precision quite often in order to use it properly. <br /><br />This gets tiring after a while. I hope Xiaomi fixes this design in the next iteration of the case. The real-time experience of using the keyboard is satisfactory. The keys are tactile and it’s fun typing on them. The keyboard despite being small has a respectable travel distance of 1.2mm. For that matter, this review is written on the Xiaomi Pad 5. Yes, you can’t switch between windows and tabs from the keyboard itself, but then Xiaomi isn’t pitching it like one. This is not meant to replace your laptop, instead, it provides you easy access to general online computing. And, it does manage to succeed in this endeavour. In case you want to occasionally use it like a laptop you can connect a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard with it. This is a more affordable alternative for casual users. <br /><br /><strong>User Experience</strong><br />Xiaomi Pad 5 runs on Android 11 out of the box and pairs up with the Mi UI 12.5 skin. This particular Xiaomi skin has been updated and customized for tablet orientation. For starters, you won’t find an app drawer by default on the device, instead, the apps remain on the home screen. Another nice touch is the widget section, revised and optimized they do add up in productivity.<br />    <div type="image" title="Xiaomi Pad 5 runs on Android 11" msid="91647922" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Xiaomi Pad 5 runs on Android 11&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> <br /><br />My go-to favorites were email and calendar. I could set reminders, and even reply to emails from the home screen itself, this was very handy. Of course, there is a split-screen function on board as well. Xiaomi is usually good at executing this, so no wonder it works smoothly on the Xiaomi Pad 5. You can open up to two windows simultaneously which is what a general user would incline towards. But with ample real estate, I feel one could use 3 apps as well. Maybe Xiaomi should consider it with a future update. <br /><br />Just like the iPad, we get to see an app tray on the bottom of the screen as well, which pops up when we swipe upwards from the bottom half. There were times when I was trying to navigate back to the home screen but instead the app tray would pop out. If you want to solve this issue altogether, turn off gestures and use navigation buttons instead.<br /><br />As mentioned previously in this review, Xiaomi Pad 5 does not come with a fingerprint reader, instead, it has a face unlock. Unlike the more fancy IR blasters that we see on other devices, this one works with the front camera. And as it is with generic face unlocking, the problems are similar here. In low lighting conditions or while wearing a mask, the Xiaomi Pad 5 struggles to unlock. For the most part, I had to punch in my numeric pin to get inside. <br /><br /><strong>Xiaomi Pad 5 Performance</strong><br />Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor turns out to be the right chipset for this device. Delivering a fiery performance the SoC works in sync with the OS on board. The Xiaomi Pad 5 boots up without any lag, and you can begin to interact with the device right off the bat.<br /><br />The 6GB RAM onboard is more than sufficient for genric tasks like web browsing or social media. Additionally, it holds up well against heavy tasks too. To test the gaming performance, I played BGMI on the Xiaomi Pad 5 and the performance was satisfactory. There were no frame drops and the game ran smoothly on UHD settings. Yes, the tablet did a bit warm but not unbearably hot. I edited pictures on Adobe Lightroom, and the performance was commendable there as well. <br /><br />The 128GB internal storage variant might be sufficient for most users, however, I would suggest going for the 256GB variant. Since a tablet is used for long and it is your local device for storing media and important documents. In this case, it’s even more important since you do not get a microSD card slot to expand the storage capacity. Something I believe should have been there. <br /><br />But it’s not just the microSD card slot that’s missing. There is also no SIM-card slot on board. It’s a general fact that people don’t make phone calls from their tablets. While it’s true having a SIM card has more than just one application. Primarily a SIM card gives you access to the cellular internet on the go. Xiaomi has managed to clip the wings on the Pad 5 with this move in my opinion. A powerful device of this nature is shackled by the sheer absence of the internet when on the move. I can still connect it with my mobile hotspot or ask for WiFi passwords when I move around. This is a major flaw in my opinion. <br /><br />Xiaomi Pad 5 comes with an 8720 mAh battery. A respectable size for the tablet, it was difficult to kill it. On light days, the Xiaomi Pad 5 would give a mileage of upto 2 days. Of course, the battery dipped to a day if I binge-watched 3 feature films in a single sitting. Do note that the battery performance depends majorly on your usage patterns. Xiaomi Pad 5 supports 22.5W fast charging which takes about 2 hours to charge it completely.<br /><br /><strong>Camera Performance</strong><br />The camera on a tablet has 2 important use cases, video calls, and scanning documents. The Xiaomi Pad 5 is an overachiever in these 2 fields. The main camera is a 13MP shooter, which clicks decent images. Xiaomi is well aware of the first use case I mentioned - scanning documents that’s why we also see a document mode in the camera app. A small add-on with a big real-time impact. I did not have to download third-party apps to scan documents on this one since I could do it from the native camera app. Otherwise, the pictures were soft and undersaturated in most cases.<br />    <div type="image" title="Pad 5 has a dedicated document mode" msid="91648068" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Pad 5 has a dedicated document mode&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div><br /><br />The main camera can also record 4K videos at 30fps, however, the results are underwhelming, and I doubt users will ever turn to that. <br /><br />The lens module on the back gives an impression that there is a multi-camera set-up, however, the other lens just reads 13MP. That’s a sign of a re-used camera module from some other Xiaomi device. This is a bit miss leading so be careful. <br /><br />The front camera is an 8MP shooter and is good for video calls. Taking selfies for your social media feed should remain your smartphone's job. Amazon has a ton of gaming deals happening today - here are the ones most worth your time

<ul class="summary-list"><li>You can play <keyword id="77951" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="stadia">Stadia</keyword> on an Android phone, an iPhone or iPad, a computer with <keyword id="6355629" type="DEFINITION" weightage="60" keywordseo="google">Google</keyword> Chrome, or a TV with a <keyword id="3682404" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Chromecast-Ultra">Chromecast Ultra</keyword> installed.</li><li>To play Stadia on your Android phone, you'll need to install the Stadia app, which is free to download.</li><li>On iPhone and iPad, you'll need to go to the Stadia website using Safari or another internet app.</li><li>Stadia can be played directly from your Chrome browser on a computer, no installation required.</li><li>Mobile devices and computers support a variety of controllers, but to play Stadia on a TV with a Chromecast Ultra, you'll need to be using the Stadia Controller.</li></ul><p><a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/what-is-stadia" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Stadia</a>, Google's new cloud-based gaming platform, was built to be "platform-agnostic." In other words, you can play Stadia on dozens of different devices, and have largely the same experience on each one.</p><p>That said, for many newcomers to the platform, it isn't immediately clear just which platforms can run Stadia. So aside from <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/what-is-a-good-internet-speed" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a solid internet connection</a> - a must-have for any streaming setup - how can you play Stadia?</p><p>In short, Stadia is available on most popular Android phones, new iPhones and iPads, any computer with Google Chrome, and TVs with a Chromecast Ultra plugged in. And if you're using a phone or computer, you probably won't even need a new game controller.</p><p>Here's a guide to the hardware you'll need to play Stadia, so you can get started streaming your favorite games right away.</p><h2><strong>How to play Stadia on an Android phone</strong></h2><p>Stadia supports most Google Pixel phones, all new Samsung S phones, most OnePlus phones, and more. On most modern Android devices - 6.0 and later - you'll simply need to download the Stadia app to get started playing.</p><p><a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.stadia.android&amp;hl=en_US&amp;gl=USmp;gl=US" target="_blank" rel="noopener">You can download the Stadia app from the Google Play Store for free</a>. Once you open it, you'll be prompted to connect your Google account, and then set up your Stadia profile. Or, if you already have a Stadia profile, you can just sign in.</p><p>Like all platforms, you won't need to download any games from Stadia - they're streamed to you over the internet - so don't worry about deleting photos to make room for it.</p><p>All Stadia games played on Android support touchscreen controls, but you can also use a real gamepad, as we'll outline in a bit.</p><div type="image" title="8   How to play Stadia" height="2000" width="1500" msid="79808225" hostid="261"></div><h2><strong>How to play Stadia on an iPhone or iPad</strong></h2><p>Although <a href="https://apps.apple.com/us/app/google-stadia/id1471900213" target="_blank" rel="noopener">there is a Stadia app for iPhones</a>, you can't actually play Stadia games through it - you can only sign up for Stadia and set up your controller. This is due to a long-running rivalry between Google and Apple.</p><p>Instead, if you want to play Stadia on your iPhone or iPad, you'll need to play through an internet browser. Here, we'll use Safari, the default internet app that comes installed on every Apple device.</p> <p>Just note that you'll have to be running at least iOS 14.3 or iPadOS 14.3. Any version older than that can't support Stadia.</p><p><strong>1. </strong>Launch Safari on your iPhone or iPad and <a href="https://stadia.google.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">head to the Stadia website</a>. Once there, sign into your Stadia account or tap "Try now" to create a new one.</p><p><strong>2.</strong> After you log in, a pop-up will appear telling you that you can play in your browser, but warning you that the iOS version of Stadia is in beta. Tap "Got It," and you'll be shown your games.</p><div type="image" title="IMG_7257.PNG" height="1792" width="828" msid="80052190" hostid="261"></div><p><strong>3</strong>. Tap the red play button under any game's picture to start playing it, or tap "Store" at the top to browse for new games.</p><div type="image" title="IMG_7259" height="1792" width="828" msid="80052192" hostid="261"></div><p>And although you can't play from the official Stadia app, you can add the Stadia website to your iPhone's homescreen as a shortcut that looks just like any other app. To do this, scroll up, and then tap the sharing icon in the middle of the toolbar at the bottom of Safari. When a menu of options appears, tap "Add to Home Screen."</p><h2><strong>How to play Stadia on a computer</strong></h2><p>Stadia can be run through Google Chrome on Mac, PC, and Linux computers. </p><p>Using the Google Chrome web browser, simply use your <a href="https://stadia.google.com/u/1/home" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Google account credentials to set up a new Stadia account, or sign into an existing one</a>.</p><p>Once you've signed in, you can start playing games directly from your browser. Just note that Stadia requires most games to be played in fullscreen mode, and for some, will need access to your computer's microphone.</p><p>You can connect a controller from within your browser by clicking the controller icon in the top-right, selecting which controller you want to use, and then following the directions.</p><div type="image" title="3   How to play Stadia" height="1875" width="3000" msid="79808227" hostid="261"></div><h2><strong>How to play Stadia on a TV with a Chromecast Ultra</strong></h2><p>If you're a gamer who loves to use the biggest screen in your house, this setup is the one for you.</p><p>To play Stadia on your TV, you'll need the following: A TV with an HDMI port, a Google Chromecast Ultra device, and a Stadia Controller.</p><p>First, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-to-set-up-chromecast" target="_blank" rel="noopener">plug the Chromecast Ultra into your TV and set it up</a>. The Chromecast Ultra comes with its own Ethernet port - for the best Stadia experience, use this port and an Ethernet cable to link the Chromecast to your internet router.</p><p>Once you've done that, press the Stadia logo on your controller to put it into Linking Mode. </p><p>A code should appear on your TV screen - it'll look like a random combination of buttons on your controller.</p><div type="image" title="1   How to play Stadia copy" height="1125" width="1500" msid="79808231" hostid="261"></div><p>Enter the code on your Stadia Controller and wait for your Chromecast to detect your controller. If the link is successful, Stadia will launch on your TV. If it's unsuccessful, you'll have to enter the code again.</p><p>If you don't see a linking code appear on your TV, this might mean that your Chromecast isn't set to "Ambient Mode." To fix this:</p><p><strong>1. </strong>Open the Google Home app on your smartphone and tap the icon for your Chromecast Ultra.</p><p><strong>2. </strong>In the top-right corner, tap "Settings." It may also look like a gear icon.</p><p><strong>3. </strong>Under "Device Info," tap "Ambient Mode."</p><p><strong>4. </strong>A new screen will appear. Scroll down until you find "Stadia Controller linking code" - click "Show" underneath it. The linking code will appear on your TV.</p><p>If you're having issues connecting your Chromecast to Wi-Fi, the Google Home app can help with that too. If the controller won't connect to Wi-Fi, you'll need to use the Stadia app.</p><p>You can also cast Stadia onto your TV using the mobile Stadia app, or <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-to-chromecast-from-mac" target="_blank" rel="noopener">your computer's Chrome browser</a>.</p><p>Although playing with the Chromecast Ultra offers the least flexibility in terms of controller support, Google has hinted that more controllers might support it in the future.</p><p>In the meantime, you can <a href="https://store.google.com/us/product/stadia_controller" target="_blank" rel="noopener">purchase a Stadia Controller for $69</a>, or for $100 get <a href="https://store.google.com/us/product/stadia" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the Stadia Premiere bundle</a> that includes both a controller and Chromecast Ultra.</p><h2><strong>All the controllers that work with <keyword id="7446305" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="google-stadia">Google Stadia</keyword></strong></h2><p>We've mentioned several times that the Stadia Controller isn't the only way to play Stadia.
