Motorola has announced a Jio Lock offer, wherein customers who opt to use a Jio SIM for a specific period within 15 days of purchasing the device will receive a cashback of ₹700. Apart from this, customers will also receive 40 cashback vouchers of ₹50, which will be applicable only on the ₹419 plan from Reliance Jio. Moto e13 with Android 13 (Go Edition) launched in India starting at ₹6,999

The much awaited <keyword id="11148" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Motorola">Motorola</keyword> Moto G smartphone has been launched in India. The smartphone will go on sale from tomorrow, (February 6, 2013) in an exclusive tie up with Flipkart. 
 
For the foreseeable future, the device will be available officially only through Flipkart (and no other online portal), which is a bad news for the people who like to have a look and feel of the smartphone before picking one up.

They would all be very happy to note that the 8GB Moto G will be available in India for Rs. 12,499 while the 16GB variant will be up for grabs for Rs. 13,999. 
 We think that, at this <keyword id="459" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="price">price</keyword> Moto G is a killer proposition and everyone who is looking for smartphone in the range of Rs. 10,000 to 12,000, should consider this once.

India says “Hello Moto” Again With The Launch of Moto G

Moto E has been priced in India at Rs 6,999 and it will be up for sale starting May 14 exclusively through Flipkart. 
 Coming over to the specifications, Moto E has a 4.3-inch display with 960x540p resolution. As speculated, we, in India, will have the Dual SIM variant of the Moto E. It runs on the latest version of <keyword id="6355645" type="COMPANY" weightage="40" keywordseo="android">Android</keyword> 4.4 (KitKat) OS. Under the hood, the Moto E packs in a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor, with 1GB of RAM and 4GB internal storage. One can also expand the internal storage of the Moto E through a microsSD card. This was not the case with the earlier launched Moto G and even Moto X. 
 
Moto E comes with a 5MP rear camera minus the camera flash and there is no front camera. Connectivity options include 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, microUSB 2.0 and Bluetooth 4.0. 
 
All this is backed by a 1,980mAh battery. 
 
As a part of the launch-day offers, the interchange back covers for the Moto E will be available at 50% discount tonight. In total, there are nine color options to choose from. 
 
The Moto E has removable back panels and you can choose from nine color options. Flipkart is offering a 50% discount on these covers. In addition, an 8GB Transcend Memory card too will be available at a 50% discount. Finally, there are eBooks worth Rs 1,000 that you will get for free when you bring home a Moto E. 
 
Overall, we think that Motorola and Flipkart have come with a killer pricing for the Moto E. Even the most conservative people in tech industry had speculated that the price of Moto E would be somewhere close to Rs 7,500 and at Rs 6,999, we could not have asked for more.

Moto E Launched In India For A Jaw Dropping Price Of Rs 6,999

<keyword id="2206516" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Moto-E">Moto E</keyword> is the most talked about <keyword id="11148" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Motorola">Motorola</keyword> device at the moment. It is said to be a rugged priced-for-all smartphone. Motorola has already sent out invites for a May 13 event and it is being speculated that this smartphone will see the light of the day at this event. 
 
As per Zauba (a website that displays information on goods imported in India) 1,300 units of Motorola Moto E 'XT1022' have already been imported in India. 
 
Interestingly, the site also claims a unit price of Rs 6,330. This makes <a href="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/tech/tech-news/Motorola-to-price-Moto-E-under-Rs-10000-Report/articleshow/34726957.cms">TOI Tech</a> to bet that the Moto E will be priced under Rs 10,000 in India. According to <a href="http://www.androidos.in/2014/05/moto-e-branding-confirmed-available-immediately-unveiling/">Android OS.in</a>, the price of the smartphone will be somewhere between Rs 7,999 to 8,499 ($130-140 approx). 
 
On the other hand, <a href="http://www.fonearena.com/blog/102467/motorola-moto-e-confirmed-through-import-export-listing-rumored-to-cost-rs-8999.html">fonereana </a>via @LeaksterInc, (a new leakster on Twitter) is posting that the Moto E will be priced at Rs 8,999 and would exclusively be available through Flipkart, similar to Moto G and Moto X.

According to earlier leaks, Moto E is likely to come with a 4.3-inch display. It is said to be powered by 1.2GHz dual-core processor along with 1GB of RAM. It is expected to have 4GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot. For camera, there will be a 5MP rear snapper. The smartphone will pack in 1,900mAh battery. 
 
The Moto E is expected to offer Android 4.4 (KitKat) out of box. It is expected that the Moto E will come with single- as well dual-SIM variants. However, in India, we think Motorola will launch just the dual-sim variants, as it did in case of Moto G.

More and more smartphone users are moving towards mid range phones and premium phones as their main device. The popularity of Rs.15,000 to Rs. 25,000 phones among the smartphone users have gone up in the past couple of years. 
 
Motorola seems to be all the more focused on the under Rs. 10,000 range. Motorola however has presence across all segments with different sets of phone models, the company starts with the C series for low range phones, goes up to E series with their under 10,000 phones, followed by Moto G series which are the mid-high range phones, extending then to premium phones with Moto Z series. Even with presence across all segments, the under Rs. 10,000 phones continue to be the most important segment for the smartphone maker. Anuj Sharma, Head of Product Management, Motorola says, “Yes market has shifted, but we don’t believe that Motorola experience is only for the elite, below Rs. 10,000 segment in India is still a pretty big segment. Barring the top 2 or top 3% for remaining 95-98%, Rs. 10,000 is still a big sum. We can’t abandon the market that is still there - market with new consumers and consumers who traditionally bought Rs. 6000 phones looking to upgrade.” 
 According to <keyword id="6377157" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="IDC">IDC</keyword> 120 million phones will be sold in 2017 in India, out of which 52 million will still be below Rs.10,000 price band. Reason why Motorola is betting big on the budget segment also considering that the E series for Moto has been one of the most popular phones for the brand in India.

However, the first look at the phone is enough to tell you it is an entry-level device. The plastic build doesn’t inspire confidence, and the phone feels blocky to hold. <div type="image" title="Moto E7 Power" msid="81102473" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Moto E7 Power&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> As far as design and build quality are concerned, Motorola could have done a better job. The buttons on the right feel wonky to use, but thankfully, there were no squeaky noises during my tests. The phone sports a 6.5-inch HD+ display, with slightly thick bezels and a noticeably thick chin. The display gets bright enough indoors, but readability under direct sunlight can be challenging. The colour reproduction is good and uniform. Software Software is unarguably the biggest strength of the Moto E7 Power. It runs on stock Android with almost zero bloatware. This comes as a breath of fresh air in this price segment, so kudos to Motorola -- owned by Chinese firm Lenovo -- for this. It comes with the Facebook app bundled, but it can be uninstalled. Apart from this, the Moto E7 Power sticks to stock Android, with zero modifications to the interface. It does have a dedicated button to summon Google Assistant, which can be useful if you use it frequently. The one area where Motorola could have done better is the Android version – the Moto E7 Power comes with Android 10 out of the box instead of Android 11, which has been out for over 5 months now. Performance and battery life An octa-core MediaTek chipset drives the phone, paired with up to 4GB memory and 64GB storage. In my tests, I noticed the Moto E7 Power stutter while scrolling and navigating. However, it is worth remembering that this is an entry-level phone, so sheer power is not the important consideration here. The phone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that lasts for over a day of usage, with intermittent calls and messages, streaming a few videos on YouTube and browsing social media. It comes with a standard 10W charger. The phone struggled a bit in slightly more challenging conditions. Essentially, the camera is serviceable but you shouldn’t expect it to do wonders. Verdict The Moto E7 Power is an entry-level smartphone and as such, the primary focus is on the basics like the software and ease of use. It does well in these two areas since it runs on stock Android and features almost no bloatware. The memory and storage are adequate as well, so that is another point in Motorola’s favour. The display quality and camera performance could have been better, though. The design and build feel unfinished, too. But if you need a simple, no-frills entry-level phone, the Moto E7 Power is worth considering. Moto E7 Power review – a breath of fresh air in the entry-level segment

The much awaited Xiaomi <keyword id="2408868" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Mi3">Mi3</keyword> went up for sale earlier today and within minutes everything has gone awry. Online site Flipkart.com, the exclusive partner for <a href="http://www.gizmodo.in/indiamodo/Xiaomi-Mi-3-Redmi-1S-and-Redmi-Note-Launched-in-India/articleshow/38424382.cms">selling Xiaomi products</a> in the country has shown its true colours yet again with the site crashing down on more than 100,000 pre-ordered customers looking to find their way through to buy the Mi3. 
 This is not the first time we’re hearing about Flipkart crashing owing to heavy traffic issues as similar incident occurred when <keyword id="11148" type="CITY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Motorola">Motorola</keyword> decided to take the online-only route with Moto E and Moto G smartphone in the country earlier this year. And now, the same has occurred owing to high-traffic reading on the site for buying the affordable Xiaomi Mi3. 
 
The curious part about this mishap for Flipkart reflects on the company’s inability to weather the storm which was predicted much earlier than it actually occurred. Just last week, Flipkart announced that more than 100,000 customers have registered/ pre-ordered the Mi3 on their site which was going to be made available from 22nd July i.e. today. Much reminiscent to the Indian Railways booking site, IRCTC.in, Flipkart goes for a toss, the moment anyone tried to make the payment for Mi3 and instead of getting the expected message of “You purchase was successful”, all one can see is this error message.

The phone was launched at a striking price of Rs 13,999 in the country and requires interested buyers to register themselves first before buying the phone on the date mentioned by the seller separately. Motorola Moto G (3rd Gen) – Rs. 12,999 
 
<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Motorola+Moto+G+%283rd+Gen%29+">Motorola Moto G (3rd Gen) </a>was launched in July 2015, and boy did it impress buyers and experts alike! It came with a 5” HD Screen with 299ppi. 
 
Under the hood, the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Motorola+Moto+G+%283rd+Gen%29+">Moto G</a> is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Processor and 2 GB RAM. It packs in 16 GB internal memory that can be expanded up to 32GB. As for the camera, it boasts of a 13 MP Primary Camera a 5 MP Selfie Camera. 
 
While the 2470mAh non-removable battery is it’s only sore point, its trump card really is it’s IPX7 Water Resistance feature that’s not available in several ‘high-end’ models. 
 
Verdict: Solid Mid Range Smartphone of 2015 
 
Coolpad Note 3 (Black) – Rs. 8,999 
 
Launched in October 2015, Coolpad Note 3 seemed to emerge as the killer in the budget category. 
 
The 5.50” beast has a resolution of 720*1280 pixels and is powered by a 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek 6753 Processor and 3 GB RAM. 
 
It also has 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 64GB. You also have a 13 MP Primary Camera and 5 MP Selfie Shooter. 
 
Apart from the usual connectivity options, the mammoth in the house here is the fingerprint scanner. Who expects stuff made for an <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=iPhone">Apple iPhone</a> on a ‘budget’ smartphone? To add icing on the cake, it’s also currently available in Black. 
 
Verdict: Budget Smartphone of 2015 
 
OnePlus 2 – Rs. 24,999 
 
Launched in July this year, the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=OnePlus+2">OnePlus 2</a> was quietly rightly labeled the ‘2016 Flagship Killer’. This one had everything you wanted on steroids. 
 
Processor? - 1.8GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 
Ram? - 4GB 
Memory – 64 GB internal storage 
Battery and Display? – 5.5” Full HD Screen and 3300mAh battery. 
A: Um…but the OnePlus 2 doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner and a 21 MP Primary Camera.

Verdict: Flagship of the Year - 2015 
 
Lenovo K3 Note – Rs. 9,999 
 
Launched early in March 2015, the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=K3+Note">K3 Note</a> is for the ones who ‘want big’, except for their credit card statements. 
 
At Rs 10k, this 5.5” biggie has a Full HD Screen with an unbelievable 401ppi. Under the hood it’s a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 Processor that comes with 2 GB RAM. You also get 16 GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB. For the camera you get a 13 MP Primary Camera and a 5 MP front camera for selfies. 
 
Apart from its slight low 2900mAh battery, and the fact that it has some lags, the Lenovo K3 is the ultimate phone for the Indian who thinks ‘bigger is better’. 
 
Verdict: The Biggie Smartphone 2015

10 Tech Things You Need To Know This Morning

Following the success of its Moto G, which the company says is its best-selling smartphone to date, Motorola is aiming to offer a smartphone that anyone can afford.
The new Moto E is as basic as a smartphone can get. The company has clearly made a few trade-offs to keep the price down, making the Moto E among the <a href="http://www.motorola.com/us/consumers/shop-all-other/Moto-E/moto-e.html">cheapest contract-free phones on the market at $129</a>.
Motorola is targeting a very specific audience with the Moto E. If having a clean Android phone with the most updated software and no two-year commitment is important to you, that it'll be hard to come by a better choice than the Moto E. But you should be prepared to give up some core smartphone features, such as a front-facing camera, a camera flash, and 4G LTE support.
<h2>What It Is</h2>
The Moto E is Motorola's entry-level smartphone in the company's line of Moto-branded handsets. The big sell is that the $130 Moto E is dirt cheap- it costs a fraction of what today's high-end flagships sell for. To put that in perspective, a smartphone such as the Galaxy S5 would cost about $600 without a two-year carrier commitment.
Until Motorola introduced the Moto G ($179) and the Moto E, Google's Nexus 5 ($349) was the cheapest mainstream option for those trying to avoid carrier contracts. 
As you'd expect from a phone of its price, the hardware elements are scaled down to fit its class. The Moto E comes with a 4.3-inch display, which is a bit larger than the iPhone but smaller than the 5-inch screens you'll find on high-end Android phones like the HTC One and Galaxy S5.

When playing "Thor: The Dark World," colors looked bright and vibrant.
Most importantly, the Moto E is only capable of connecting to 3G networks, so you'll have to settle for slower data speeds. It runs on an old Snapdragon 200 processor and comes with 4GB of onboard storage-a sizeable drop from the 8-16GB standard you'd get with pricier phones. Motorola makes up for this by including a microSD card slot that can add up to 32GB of extra storage space.
There's also no front facing camera or flash on the Moto E, just a 5-megapixel main camera that sits on the back above the Motorola logo.
In terms of design, the Moto E looks like a chunkier version of the Moto G and Moto X phones that preceded it. There's a smooth hard matte back panel that feels like polycarbonate paired with a slick glossy front. In general, the phone feels sturdy enough to endure a few drops.

My white review unit gathered a ton of unwanted colored streaks and marks after I carried it around in my bag for several days.
I can imagine that this is only an issue with the white shell, but the good news is the back panel is replaceable.
Keeping with the emphasis on customization that Motorola introduced with the Moto X, the company offers a variety of colored shells for the Moto E.
<h2>What It Does</h2>
The Moto E's riches benefits are in its software, not its hardware. For example, since Motorola didn't modify Android very much, it'll get software updates a lot faster than most Android phones.
This means that it will be among the first to get all of the new features that will be coming to Android-even before widely popular handsets like the Galaxy S5 or HTC One. It comes with the latest version of Android out of the box, and it's guaranteed to get updates in the future. For a smartphone as cheap as the Moto E, that's a great perk that will save hardcore Android fans a lot of frustration.
Motorola offers up some useful apps of its own as well. The Moto E's flagship feature is Motorola Alert, a system that's designed to function as a sort of virtual body guard. The new feature allows you to put your phone in an alert mode that will send notifications to your most trustworthy contacts periodically. These alerts also tell those contacts where you are in case of an emergency.

By most accounts, the Moto E will fulfill most of your needs, but there are some areas where it falls noticeable short. Other than its lack of 4G connectivity, the Moto E's camera is a significant weak point.
The image quality is about what you'd expect from a 5-megapixel camera-satisfactory for taking casual photos but not great. The issue, however, is that the camera is evidently slow. After tapping the screen, there was an obvious delay before the camera captured an image.
<h2>Who Should Buy It</h2>
If you're an Android enthusiast on a tight budget looking to avoid carrier contracts, the Moto E will appeal to you. The hardware may be dated, but $129 is an unprecedented price for contract-free smartphones. That being said, if you're willing to splurge a little more, the $179 Moto G will bring you the same software benefits with slightly upgraded hardware. You can also opt for the $219 Moto G with LTE if you want faster data and have some extra cash.

The trend started February this year with the exclusive launch of <keyword id="6374435" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Moto-G">Moto G</keyword> on Flipkart.com. The smartphone’s two versions were launched; 16 GB and 8 GB, and all 16 GB units were gone after 15 minutes of the launch all. And in few hours all 20,000 Moto G units (including 16GB as well as 8GB) were sold out. This was not technically a flash sale, though it seemed like one with phones getting sold out so quickly. 
 This ‘online only’ exclusive model was soon followed by many other brands including China’s <keyword id="874458" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Xiaomi">Xiaomi</keyword>. And unlike <keyword id="11148" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Motorola">Motorola</keyword>, Xiaomi had taken the path of flash sales. The brand launched Mi3, its first model in India on 22 July exclusively on Flipkart.com. All the units were sold in 40 minutes flat. The <a href="http://gadgets.ndtv.com/mobiles/news/xiaomi-flipkart-confirm-20000-mi-3-smartphones-sold-thus-far-in-india-567944">second batch</a> of Mi 3 handsets took 5 seconds, the third took just 2 seconds, the fourth batch was claimed to be sold in 2.4 seconds, fifth batch in 2.3 seconds and the sixth one in 2.4 seconds. Phew. Wasn’t this super quick? 
 
This September, Xiaomi announced its second model Redmi 1S and have had 3 flash sales of the model till date. Every time the products went out of stock under 5 seconds. These flash sales have created quite a buzz but not everything is good about it. Let’s take a look and understand what’s happening at this flash sale where products are getting sold in less than a few seconds. 
 
Great features for steal price or the ‘lottery’ factor Both Xiaomi Mi3 and Redmi 1S models offer great features at a very competitive price. After the success of Moto G, <keyword id="2206516" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Moto-E">Moto E</keyword> and Moto X the Indian consumers started looking at online as a serious platform for buying phones. When Xiaomi’s Mi3 was launch, consumers compared the features and eagerly lapped up the product and this was quite a surprise for the company too. News reports claim that the company had less than 10,000 units for the first sale on 22nd July, 2014. Thus, the product getting sold out completely in 40 minutes was encouraging yet not a very big deal. 
 
The industry reports claim that the Mi3’s first flash sale had 1 lakh unit registrations. The other flash sales have had similar numbers about 20,000 units of Mi3 were on sale against registration of 2, 50,000 for the sixth Mi3 flash sale. 
 
With such a huge gap of demand and supply, there is a lottery factor involved. Getting a Xiaomi phone makes consumers feel like winning a lottery and make many desire it. This lottery factor has certainly pushed the demand for Xiaomi smartphones in India. 
 
Angry customers and black market sales: Threat to the brand 
Well, the lottery factor certainly pushes the demand for Xiaomi phones further and makes the product more desirable in consumers’ eyes. But unfortunately, this flash sale model leaves consumers angry, dissatisfied and disgruntled, which is not good for the brand. Just look at the Xiaomi phone registrations and number of units sold; the gap is so huge. 
 
Some competitive handset manufacturers and experts are calling Xiaomi’s strategy nothing but a PR stunt to get attention. What’s unfortunate is that it may actually create buzz around the brand, but with so many angry and disgruntled customers the brand has a lot more to lose. 
 
What’s even worse is that the demand and supply gap is also leading to black market sales. Several people are just buying these smartphones only to resell them at a higher price. Check out OLX. The re-selling prices are often Rs 1,500-2,000 higher than the original. This again will have a bad impact on the brand in the long run. 
 
Lack of supply: Truth or just a gimmick? 
In several news reports, the company has quoted that it is trying to meet the demand. What we can’t comprehend is that if they have sold about 95,000 units of Mi3 in just one and a half months, what stops them from selling the same amount in two to three sales. 
 
For instance, the company got 40,000 units of Redmi 1S as against 2 lakh registrations in first flash sale in September first week. Next week again, it brought 40,000 units against a registration of three lakh consumers. And in the third week of September they again sold just 40,000 units. Now, if the company can get 1, 20, 000 units in three weeks, why can’t they bring all in one go to ensure demand is met. 
 
The question of losing credibility 
Contrary to this, Motorola that sold Moto G (16 GB) units in 15 minutes in the first sale in February, focused on demand forecast and ensuring that appropriate inventory is available. The company got ample units for the much-hyped Moto G second generation that was launched earlier this month and the product is available on Flipkart since then. No crazy flash sale approach. That’s what gives credibility to a brand, unlike a ‘flash sale’ model; consumers can associate it with unreliability. This unreliability and loss of credibility becomes even worse if the product is available in black market for sale. 
 
If Xiaomi wants to succeed in future, it should reconsider its ‘flash sale’ strategy or else get ready to face the repercussion.
