More and more people are on the lookout for courses that can help them further their careers. And with the sector cluttered and many players spending big bucks on advertising, it is important for different players to come up with differentiated communications, to be able to capture its consumer’s mindspace. Simplilearn, which calls itself the world’s No 1 online Bootcamp for digital economy skills has just launched a campaign titled #CannotBeLockedDown and is investing big to take its message to its targeted consumers. We speak to Mark Moran, Chief Marketing Officer, Simplilearn who shares the platform’s journey so far, its plans around the new campaign and its strategies to capture a bigger market share. The campaign Simplilearn’s has come up with a high decibel campaign after quite a few years, but it plans to go all out with this new campaign. However, in the midst of everything, we have been fortunate enough to be supporting a community that's really out there, leaning into their careers and trying to make the best of the moment, learning skills while being stuck at home and doing their day jobs. We wanted to celebrate that spirit through this campaign while also talk about why we are good and why they should take a course from us. It just felt like a good time to spread some positivity and reset the conversation.” While it is a digital-first campaign, it will also be launched across print and TV. OTT will also be an important part of the mix. “We are putting aside Rs 100 crore for the campaign. It's a fully integrated campaign where you'll be seeing a lot happening on social, some contests to try and get some user-generated content in the same vein as what we are saying in the ads. On the video side, what we already have should last us the year but if we do need some refreshing, we will do that as and when needed,” explained Moran. Simplilearn’s journey so far Founded in 2010, Simplilearn is based in San Francisco, California, and Bangalore, India. It offers access to world-class work-ready training to individuals and businesses around the world. Currently, it is present in around 160 countries. Close to 60% of its revenue comes from outside India and now, the platform is working towards increasing its share in the country. “Around 40% of our revenues come from India currently, almost the same percentage comes from the US and the rest comes from APAC, the Middle East, Europe, and Latin America. We’re not present in China currently because we are an English-only platform for the time being. So we are quite global. We primarily address individual learners who are taking hold of their career, but about a quarter of our business is enterprise-oriented and B2B where companies are going through digital transformation or retraining large teams. A big part of our enterprise business actually comes from individual learners who have a great experience and recommend us to others,” he added. Currently, the platform has been focusing more on technology-based learners, its core offering is digital skills. It has also added <keyword id="6360839" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mba" source="Orion">MBA</keyword> to its list of offerings. On who their core audiences are, Moran said, “That would be people who are several years, around 4-5 years into their careers and we go all the way to people into their 40s and 50s who may have already started down the path of being a data scientist or digital marketer but they want to go deeper. And that's why they come to our bootcamps which are all designed around specific job roles that are needed in the market today.” The platform has partnerships with several universities and colleges including <keyword id="83617" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="purdue-university" source="Orion">Purdue University</keyword>, IIT Kanpur, Caltech and <keyword id="401516" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="university-of-massachusetts" source="Orion">University of Massachusetts</keyword>. Simplilearn had also launched SkillUp, its free learning platform to offer learners short-term skilling programs in November last year. The platform aims to onboard five million learners on its SkillUp platform in the next two years. But how is it working on making its platform more engaging, so that people do not miss out on the classroom experience? “We've spent the last 6 years building our online bootcamp. Our real differentiation is that we have, by far, the most interactive curriculum and pedagogy around our courses. Almost 60-70% of our curriculum is interactive in real-time. Our whole focus has been around super high engagement and we are sitting at the right place in the market. Research shows that people learn more efficiently by being engaged and active, it's hard to be a passive learner for most people. Most researchers expect that when this finally does go away, a massive amount of market share will remain online and they'll be consuming courses like ours that are super high engagement, highly personalized designed for a specific career that you're looking for,” said Moran. The future Currently Simplilearn is completely focused on offering upskilling programs. However, is there a chance of it offering courses to a younger audience? “We are now launching fully accredited degree programs. So you'll continue to see lots of additional partnerships announced with universities, both in India and around the world. The K-12 segment is not on our roadmap but the young adult right to people at the end of their career are more our addressable market,” he explained. On what their key areas of focus will be in the future, he said, “The nature of work these days is such that if you're not formally trying to up-skill what you're doing every couple of years, you really risk becoming obsolete in a couple of years because things are moving so quickly. We've all read statistics that suggest that there could be around 15 million people displaced around the globe in the next 8-10 years. There will be millions of new jobs created but they're all going to be in these digital categories, which is exactly what we focus on. We've always been around digital, we will expand into related business categories, like MBAs and other technically-oriented skills, but its probably going to be a long time before we teach Spanish or cooking or playing the guitar. Other people are doing it, and doing it really well, but we're be fundamentally focused on helping you have a successful career and a successful life.”

The Chinese self-drive car rental market is the largest among the three emerging economies and contributed to the maximum share in the overall market. Changes affecting the Chinese self-drive car rental market will have a strong impact on the overall self-drive car rental market of the emerging countries. However, the self-drive car rental market in India will account for the highest growth compared with the Chinese and Brazilian self-drive car rental markets in the coming years. The surge in growth is majorly originated from growth in weekend trips. Yours is an intriguing and inspiring story. How did you survive the tough times? 
I survived because I never lied to myself. I knew what I was living was horrible and humiliating. That’s the main reason why I came out of the experience psychologically and emotionally healthy. 
 
What I see now in the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=sex+workers">sex workers</a> rights movement didn’t quite exist back in the 90s. It’s this deceptive veneer plastered over <keyword id="56655" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="prostitution">prostitution</keyword> where <keyword id="29537" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="sex-workers">sex workers</keyword> lie to themselves and others. 
 
Some believe lying to oneself keeps you sane, at least for a while. 
That mechanism is used to lying to others. Lying to yourself is a harmful business. 
 
Your biggest takeaway from the experience. 
I’ve learned that it’s absolutely important for people to treat each other with the fullness of their humanity. 
 
Some of the biggest myths about prostitution. 
Some of the most popular myths that are out there are that these are a couple of lonely men accessing sex as they can’t get it anywhere else. 
 
That is quite frankly, bullshit. About three-quarters of men who use women in prostitution are married. They are fathers and have wives at home. 
 
Also, for lonely men looking for intimacy, they’re looking for something in a place they’re least likely to find it. You can’t possibly find sexual intimacy in a brothel. 
 
India is in the throes of a sexual revolution today. Some say legalizing prostitution might help. What’s your take? 
That’s the worst one can do. The countries that have legalized prostitution (several states in Australia, New Zealand, Nevada in the US) have all made the same mistake and faced similar consequences. 
 
Today there are 450000 prostitutes In Germany and 500 brothels in Berlin alone. Brothels are as high as 12 stories with absolute inhumanity practiced on every floor. Men are able to use the bodies of impoverished marginalized women to satisfy every perversion, fantasy or whim they can imagine. All of this is legal, and the government collects taxes from this, which of course makes them a pimp. 
 
The alternate view says legalization would help regulate the trade, and bring these women to the mainstream. 
The government can control nothing over legalization. A little known fact about legalized systems is that illegal systems outstrip the legal brothels. These are not regulated. 
 
There are women who’d say what they’re doing with their personal life is nobody’s business. What do you to say to that? 
My response to women who speak that way is, “it’s not all about you”. 
 
What’s you take on online <keyword id="6378652" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Pornography">pornography</keyword>? 
<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=prostitution">Prostitution</a> and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=pornography">pornography</a> are just the same thing. It’s the degradation of women on a large scale. The only difference is that there is a camera involved in one and not in the other. 
 
The same men who say porn is just fine, if they happen to be on the internet one day and saw their daughters and mothers on a porn site, the indignity and humiliation would become immediately apparent to them. 
 
The problem here is that modern day <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=pornography">pornography</a> is not erotica. It is not always mutual shared consensual sex. 
 
Prostitution is the world’s oldest profession. How can you get rid of that? 
Why are we trying to control the conditions of inhumanity? 
 
Prostitution has been around for thousands of years. So has rape or murder. We legislate against these. 
 
What can Men do now? 
They Men need to understand the pain and damage to them that’s happening at a soul level. They need to become aware about how toxic masculinity has become. 
 
If a Man is not dominant, he is not even seen as a man. If I had to been aggressive and antagonistic before my femininity is even acknowledged, what that would mean for me is that I would have to be practicing inhumanity to be considered a female. 
 
Your advice to people stuck in the trade. 
I understand exactly how they’re feeling, and how they’re positioned. 
 
There is always a way out. Whether you believe it or not, there is always the possibility of a future beyond prostitution. 
 
I didn’t believe that. I desperately wanted a way out, but couldn’t see any for years. 
 
“Believe me, there is a future beyond this”, that would be my message.

Car sharing platform Zoomcar elevates Nirmal NR as India CEO

<ul><li><keyword id="6368965" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="zoomcar">Zoomcar</keyword> is partnering with <keyword id="6433699" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ixigo">Ixigo</keyword>, an online travel booking service, to reach its 130 million users. </li><li>Co-found of Ixigo Rajnish Kumar predicts that car rentals with be "one of the biggest travel trends this year." </li><li>The partnership will help Zoomcar meet its goal to double the demand of its services by the end of the current fiscal year. </li></ul>Zoomcar, a self drive car rental service, just announced that it's partnering with Ixigo reach more users while betting on car rentals to be a travel trend this year. The partnership will give Zoomcar access to <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/50-of-indias-travel-to-beonline-by-2020-ixigo/articleshow/49060256.cms">Ixigo</a>'s 130 million users as well as the latter's 200 million monthly travel searches as users plan their vacation. "Indian travellers are increasingly opting for a holistic and exclusive vacation experience making on-demand car rentals one of the biggest travel trends of the year," stated Co-founder of Ixigo Rajnish Kumar. Zoomcar has 10,000 cars with plans to expand its fleet to 25,000 cars by the end of year. It also plans to double the demand for its services by the end of the current fiscal. Currently, <a href="https://www.zoomcar.com/bangalore/">Zoomcar</a> has 4.8 million users and clocks over 3,000 rides daily. As an incentive, Zoomcar is also offering a launch discount of 20% on bookings through Ixigo. Users can book a Zoomcar for an hour, a day, a week or even a whole month. Car rentals in India While the market for car rentals in India is growing, it's not quite mainstream yet. "Such collaborations, we believe, will pave the way for the mainstreaming of alternative mobility services, ensuring that users get a seamless experience," said Greg Moran, CEO and Co-Founder of Zoomcar. Last year, Zoomcar raised $40 million through Series-C round headed by Mahindra and Mahindra Limited. Sequoia Capital, Empire Angles and Nokia Growth Partners are also a part of the investor portfolio. So, the company introduced peer-to-peer (P2P) marketplace called 'ZAP' where users can put up their own cars to be rented by other users on the platform. Even so, Zoomcar registered ₹116 crore in loss during last fiscal year's earnings, according to its financial data filed with the Registrar of Companies. But its revenue also showed a yearly growth of 31% from ₹120 crore in FY17 to ₹158 crore in FY18. Zoomcar eyes a shortcut to 130 million users — partners with Ixigo

New Delhi, Feb 19 () Zoomcar, self-drive mobility platform, on Wednesday said it has appointed Markish Arun as its vice president of Engineering. Markish, who had worked with the likes of Goibibo and Makemytrip as senior director of Engineering leading supply-side engineering and product initiatives will be responsible for all engineering initiatives in his new role, Zoomcar said in a statement. Commenting on the appointment, Zoomcar CEO and Co-Founder Greg Moran said, "Cutting edge technology has always been our priority and Markish's appointment will further our already dominant lead on the technical platform side as we are doubling down on investing for 100,000-plus cars on the platform." He brings a wealth of relevant industry knowledge to the company that is highly valued, Moran added. With this one-way segment a customer can drive from point A to point B. This means customers can pick up a car from Zoomcar location from one city and drop it off to another city at a Zoomcar location. The launch of one-way intercity launch adds flexibility and options to people’s travel plans. Zoomcar is bringing new innovations to the Hop service which will be available across 24 cities including intra-state and eventually inter-state routes as well. The 24 city routes are Bangalore – Mysore, Bangalore – Mangalore, Mangalore – Mysore, Bombay – Pune, Ahmedabad – Surat, <keyword id="6354925" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kolkata">Kolkata</keyword> – Siliguri, Chennai – Coimbatore, Vijayawada – Vizag. Zoomcar caters to an audience where travelers are seeking self-drive purpose for both business and leisure purpose. “With the launch of our pathbreaking one way, inter-city self-drive rental product, Hop, we're offering a whole new level of convenience for our 20 lacs+ Zoomcar customer base. After careful study and countless deliberations with customers, we have designed a product offering that caters to a wide range of point to point, intercity self-drive use cases. We anticipate strong demand for Hop from both business and leisure travelers. We look forward to pushing out to more than 30 routes later this quarter,” said Greg Moran, CEO &amp; Co-founder, Zoomcar. The procedure for booking a car will be done through the app or website. The user will be asked about their drop off city and location. Based on the provided pickup and drop off, the minimum duration is computed to cover the distance. The price of the fuel is included. The price of the trip will be decided by the hours required to cover the distance between starting point to destination with 20km/hr.

Starting October 25, in flight experience from Delhi to London would be of a much comfort and elegance. Thanks to British Airways planning to bring into operation a Boeing 787-900 for the said sector. 
 
This would also be the first time, Boeing 787-900 would be introduced in India, reports The Economic Times. 
 
The second operator to launch operations through Boeing 787-900 is likely to be Air Canada, which will start operations in November. 
 
"The new aircraft will have 216 seats and an exclusive first class cabin for our passengers. India is the second largest markfor us after the US and the Delhi-London route becomes the first route to see the launch of Boeing 787-900 in our global network," Moran Birger, regional commercial manager- south Asia, British Airways told ET. 
 
The airline has also announced a 50% discount on economy class tickets for travel period starting October 25, 2015 till December 31, 2015. Discounts tickets for the travel can be booked between July 14, 2015 and July 16, 2015, the ET report says.

The firm's namesake, British designer Thomas Heatherwick, has conceived of monumental structures like the 2012 Olympics cauldron and the Seed Cathedral in the UK. Though he's a favorite among billionaire clients, he's also <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2017/aug/19/thomas-heatherwick-pied-piper-has-the-very-rich-under-his-spell">been criticized</a> for allowing ambition to supersede reason. In 2009, his starburst-shaped structure, called B of the Bang, began <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2009/feb/11/b-bang-sculpture-manchester">losing its spikes</a>, and was ultimately dismantled due to safety concerns. Eight years later, his <a href="https://www.dezeen.com/2017/08/14/thomas-heatherwick-garden-bridge-officially-scrapped-architecture-news-london-uk/">plan to build a Garden Bridge</a> over the River Thames was scrapped after <a href="https://www.dezeen.com/2017/04/07/garden-bridge-thomas-heatherwick-margaret-hodge-review-sadiq-khan-london-uk-news/">costs ran too high</a>. The anticipated cost was about the same as what it took to build Vessel, but that project drew partially from public funds. Vessel, on the other hand, is all privately-funded.As an artwork that can carry up to 700 visitors at once, the installation had to allow for a steady flow of pedestrians. From the start, Heatherwick Studio envisioned Vessel as a series of staircases and landings that call to mind the <a href="https://theculturetrip.com/asia/india/articles/9-ancient-beautiful-stepwells-in-india/">stepwells in India</a>. Wood said the warmth of the copper mimics a beating heart - a contrast to the shimmering blues and silvers of nearby skyscrapers. Many of Vessel's pieces were prefabricated and shipped from Italy, then assembled like puzzle pieces at Hudson Yards. The design - which has been likened to a honeycomb, a beehive, an urn, and a rib cage - starts small at the base and fans out to 150 feet wide at the top. Wood said this was deliberate so as not to "jam up" ground-level public space. Ascending to the top necessitates a mile-long climb, though the distance feels much shorter after stopping at various landings."We've never designed something like this," Wood said. But Vessel's major selling point is that it's free to enjoy.The installation is open every day from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Visitors must get a ticket to climb onboard, but the development sets aside same-day tickets that can be picked up on-site. Tickets can also be <a href="https://www.hudsonyardsnewyork.com/discover/vessel">reserved online</a> up to two weeks in advance. Guests who claim a ticket are given an hour-long window to enter the structure, but their time to mingle and observe is unlimited. As the structure welcomes its grand opening on March 15, both Related and Heatherwick Studio are standing by to see how their vision plays out. The public will soon be asked to name the structure (Vessel serves as a stand-in) based on their experience.
