Was it worth it? Definitely yes.I always justified it in my head that it benefited my kids because they got back into their routine and saw their friends when they returned to day care. I take trips with friends where I'll be away from home for a weekend or longer. I agree to work trips where I might miss back-to-school nights or the annual school carnival.These opportunities help me to build my career and maintain my friendships, and they help my kids learn life skills while I am away.I am lucky that my husband is a very involved partner, but he has a job that doesn't always allow him to be home for dinnertime. My teens all have a few recipes they can make on their own, so they don't have to wait for Dad to get home for them to eat. I write up a schedule of who is in charge of the dishes and cleaning the kitchen while I am away (as the oldest complained that her brothers were leaving it all for her). But really, they do so well while I am away.Taking time for myself shows my kids that I am a person outside of being a mother. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, after all.

When a notification popped up on the Royal Caribbean app letting me know that there was an onboard nursery, I was absolutely giddy.The nursery was our first stop after getting settled into our cabin. They offered childcare for babies between 6 and 36 months with trained staff, and the space included cribs, age-appropriate toys, and cuddles galore. There were multiple staff members on duty to ensure babies had plenty of one-on-one care.Rates started at just $6 an hour, a steal compared to the $25 to 30 <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/childcare-too-expensive-unaffordable-2024-3">hourly rate I pay for childcare</a> back home. Having a childcare option on board gave me a chance to recharge, allowing me to be fully present with my daughter during the rest of our time on board.<h2 id="a389a0ea-1e4d-42bd-a104-16973956932c">The staff was incredibly kind and went out of their way to make our experience memorable</h2>One of the things that sticks with me most about our cruise is how friendly and kind the staff were during our entire sailing. Whether we were eating dinner in the main dining room, walking around the pool deck, or attending a show, the staff went above and beyond. In fact, many of the staff we met were parents themselves, and we spent a lot of time sharing baby photos and tips for surviving the crawling stage.While it may sound small, the special mini towel animal waiting in our room for my daughter really brought a smile to my face, as did the bowls of mashed potatoes, dinner rolls, and fruit that the staff would bring us at dinner unprompted.<h2 id="f3adfd68-51dd-413b-8d75-a6fcd7e44ba9">Cruise ships offer flexibility to adapt to a baby's mood easily</h2>On a cruise ship, there are dozens of options for dining, entertainment, and activities right outside your door, making it an incredibly flexible vacation option. Changing the day's itinerary was as easy as pressing a different elevator button.What was originally planned to be a pool day could easily turn into a stroller walk through the onboard park or taking my daughter to a family festival, depending on our moods at any given time. This flexibility was especially handy for a mom traveling solo.<h2 id="4490ca83-8240-44a3-b510-3358b01a58cc">The onboard dining options were surprisingly baby-friendly</h2>My daughter was 8 months old on this cruise, which means we were in the thick of introducing solids. From now on, I will always recommend new parents take a cruise at this age because it made baby-led weaning incredibly easy.At both the buffet and specialty restaurants, my daughter was able to sample dozens of foods to explore flavors and textures galore. She even fell in love with asparagus at the onboard steakhouse. And best of all, I didn't have to cook — nor clean — a thing.<h2 id="a4dd1c9d-6025-4471-84b5-93a16e49151e">Once we made it onboard, we could stop "traveling" and start vacationing</h2>Flying with an infant is no simple feat, so I especially appreciated that our travels ended once we made it onto the ship. After we settled into our cabin, the traveling came to us — and as a solo mom, I can't imagine an easier way to travel with an infant. We woke up to endless ocean views one morning and the Bahamas the next — all without having to drag a carseat, stroller, and luggage through a town or onto another plane.I never suspected I'd fall in love with cruising, but after this trip, my daughter and I will be setting sail for many years to come.

With millions of people across five continents experiencing scorching heat last month, the European Union's (EU) climate agency, Copernicus <keyword id="19907392" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="climate-change" source="keywords">Climate Change</keyword> Service (C3S), confirmed on Monday that June was the warmest on record. It also marked the 12th consecutive month of <keyword id="20524196" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="global-temperatures" source="keywords">global temperatures</keyword> reaching <keyword id="22325521" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="1-5-degrees-Celsius" source="keywords">1.5 degrees Celsius</keyword> above the pre-industrial average. According to scientists at C3S, every month since June last year has been the warmest such month on record. In January, the world completed an entire year with the mean surface air temperature exceeding the 1.5-degree Celsius threshold. June was the 12th consecutive month with monthly average temperatures above the 1850-1900 pre-industrial average. At the 2015 UN climate talks in Paris, world leaders committed to limiting the global average temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius above the pre-industrial period to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. However, a permanent breach of the 1.5-degree Celsius limit specified in the <keyword id="20104670" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Paris-Agreement" source="keywords">Paris Agreement</keyword> refers to long-term warming over a 20 or 30-year period. Earth's global surface temperature has already increased by around 1.2 degrees Celsius compared to the average in 1850-1900 due to the rapidly-increasing concentration of <keyword id="20649149" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="greenhouse-gases" source="keywords">greenhouse gases</keyword> -- primarily carbon dioxide and methane -- in the atmosphere. This warming is considered to be the reason behind record droughts, wildfires and floods worldwide. According to new data, June 2024 was the warmest on record, with an average surface air temperature of 16.66 degrees Celsius, 0.67 degrees Celsius above the 1991-2020 average for the month and 0.14 degrees Celsius above the previous high set in June 2023. "The month was 1.5 degrees Celsius above the estimated June average for 1850-1900, the designated pre-industrial reference period, making it the 12th consecutive month to reach or break the 1.5-degree threshold," C3S said in a statement. It was also the 13th consecutive month of <keyword id="21477127" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="record-high-temperatures" source="keywords">record-high temperatures</keyword>, a result of the combined effect of the 2023-24 El Nino event and human-caused climate change. While unusual, a similar streak of monthly global temperature records happened previously in 2015-16. "This is more than a statistical oddity and highlights a large and continuing shift in our climate. Even if this specific streak of extremes ends at some point, we are bound to see new records being broken as the climate continues to warm. This is inevitable, unless we stop adding greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and the oceans," said Carlo Buontempo, the director of C3S. The European climate agency said the global average temperature for the last 12 months (July 2023-June 2024) is the highest on record, at 0.76 degrees Celsius above the 1991-2020 average and 1.64 degrees Celsius above the 1850-1900 pre-industrial average. The world's sea surface in June was also the highest ever recorded for the month. Several countries experienced record-breaking heat and devastating floods and storms in June. According to an analysis by Climate Central, an independent group of scientists and communicators based in the United States, more than 60 per cent of the world population faced extreme heat that was made at least three times more likely by climate change during June 16-24. Climate Central said the blistering heat in June impacted 619 million (61.9 crore) people in India, 579 million (57.9 crore) in China, 231 million (23.1 crore) in Indonesia, 206 million (20.6 crore) in Nigeria, 176 million (17.6 crore) in Brazil, 171 million (17.1 crore) in Bangladesh, 165 million (16.5 crore) in the US, 152 million (15.2 crore) in Europe, 123 million (12.3 crore) in Mexico, 121 million (12.1 crore) in Ethiopia and 103 million (10.3 crore) in Egypt. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), northwest India recorded its warmest June since 1901. India, which experienced one of its hottest and longest heatwaves, recorded more than 40,000 suspected heatstroke cases and over 100 heat-related deaths. The intense heat overwhelmed the water supply system and power grids, with Delhi grappling with a severe water crisis. According to the IMD, 11 states recorded 20 to 38 heatwave days -- up to four times the usual number of such days -- during the April-to-June period. The mercury breached 50 degrees Celsius in parts of Rajasthan, with night temperatures hovering around 35 degrees Celsius in many places. Temperatures were most above average over eastern Canada, the western United States and Mexico, Brazil, northern Siberia, the Middle East, northern Africa, and western Antarctica. June warmest on record; every month since July 2023 breached 1.5 deg C threshold

A combination of wedding deposits, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/category/inflation">inflation</a>, and my laissez-faire spending habits meant I was unexpectedly<a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/gen-z-millennials-wealth-balloon-pandemic-stimulus-savings-investing-2024-2"> dipping into my savings</a>.I knew I needed to budget if I wanted to keep the money I worked hard to save. To learn how, I spoke to Amanda Clayman, a financial therapist who hosts Fresh Produce Media's Audible series "<a target="_blank" href="https://www.audible.com/pd/Emotional-Investment-Audiobook/B0CYN8HKKP">Emotional Investment</a>." In the style of a traditional therapy session, she asked me questions about my relationship with money to <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/financial-therapist-helped-me-learn-why-i-cant-save-money-2024-6">unpack my biggest roadblocks to saving</a>.I wrote down a few ideas on how I could assess my spending habits, which Clayman approved of. Then, I tracked specific habits and my overall spending over the last six months to create a realistic budget going forward.The next step was to create a plan and attempt to budget for a month — something I tried many times but found too daunting. It ended up reassuring me about my spending habits and helping me find small, new ways to save.<h2 id="1b9136d1-7900-45ca-8187-4f8cb33eafe2">Tracking only one factor made it easier to spot patterns</h2>One of the biggest takeaways from my session with Clayman is that <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-to-stop-being-a-people-pleaser-2023-9">I'm a people-pleaser</a>. I knew that before, but I didn't realize how much it influenced my spending habits. As <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/loud-budgeting-helped-financial-therapist-pay-off-debt-2024-5">Clayman herself did in her 20s</a>, I'm accustomed to throwing down my card at dinners, regardless of whether others ordered more or if I didn't really want multiple appetizers.Mapping out my social spending helped me zoom in on where I already know I spend the most since I'm usually good at saying no to unnecessary expenses otherwise.<div type="image" title="A spreadsheet of spending with notes" height="428" width="570" msid="111639639" hostid="261" sizebytes="14302"></div>I also saw that social outings aren't the only place I overspend. I tend to buy a lot of gifts and like to treat friends and family, but stubbornly invented a rule in my head that a present has to be $50 to "count." I reassessed where I might be slightly overdoing it and where I could scale back without feeling cheap or inconsiderate.Clayman had a great tip: instead of berating myself when I look at my credit card charges, she invited me to "remember and in fact almost luxuriate in the things that you love about spending," whether a dinner with friends recharges me or a cocktail date night with my partner makes us feel more connected. That way, I could "capture that spirit in other kinds of activities that in the next month might be a little bit more budget-friendly."<h2 id="60792d1b-9ce6-49e3-8fcd-5d69c6844777">I didn't lose as much money as I thought</h2>As Clayman suggested, I reviewed my spending over the last six months and conducted a year-over-year comparison between June 2024 and June 2023.Examining my activity, I lost a little over $1,200. When I factor in the money automatically accrued in my high-yield and CD accounts, it drops to about $870. Comparing this June to last June, when I went on a trip to Italy, I actually spent around $300 less.Tracking my weekly spending also helped me celebrate a win: I paid off a huge statement without dipping into my savings at all.While losing money is not ideal, I also didn't squander the thousands I thought I did. Clayman said <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/financial-therapist-says-budgeting-apps-harm-saving-money-2024-4">budgeting via auto-save features and apps</a>, which I use, can make the process more disengaging and confusing. Because I kept sending Venmo payments back and forth as well as adding savings only to take them away again, I always felt like I was draining all my money.The wedding in particular involved a lot of pre-paid expenses that seemed to come up every month. While I love traveling and trying out new restaurants, I don't want vacation and Aperol spritzes to define my personality (at least, not all of it).Clayman said that budgeting isn't just about mechanically capping off how much you spend. It's about having a clear-eyed view of your spending and confronting the parts of yourself that might be self-sabotaging."That little bit of discomfort is purposeful," she said. "It helps when you are doing something that's bringing your authentic self more vulnerably and honestly out."There's been so much I've wanted to change, even before budgeting came into the equation. I've wanted to drink less. I've wanted to cook more, especially when hosting friends. I've wanted to get into a craft like pottery, where I could even make more personal gifts. Mostly, I've just wanted to be someone who can say "no" to plans that burn me out.Doing my best to adhere to a <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/personal-finance/50-30-20-rule">50-30-20</a> budget pushes me to be more inventive about how I socialize. <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/loud-budgeting-tiktok-genz-millennial-save-money-lifestyle-creep-spending-2024-1">Being upfront about saving</a> also helps me brainstorm lower-budget plans.Clayman said that<a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/financial-therapist-powerful-mindset-shifts-that-save-money-2024-5"> mindset is vital</a> when you try to save. Officials have repeatedly hinted that the Starliner, which faced issues with helium leaks and thruster outages heading to the International <keyword id="20073557" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="space-station" source="keywords">Space Station</keyword> in early June, will be safe to bring astronauts including indian-origin Sunita 'Suni' Williams and Butch Wilmore home. On Friday, Stich said that NASA is considering extending the maximum length of Starliner's mission from 45 days to 90 days and there is no firm return date on the horizon, according to CNN report. Addressing a briefing on Friday, the NASA official said, "We're just looking at the timeline to execute (the test in New Mexico) and then review the data." He further said, "And that's what's really the long pole, I would say, determining a landing date." Stich added, "We're not in a rush to come home." Part of that desired extension is due to the ground tests that Boeing and NASA plan to conduct in New Mexico, seeking to better understand why some of the Starliner's thrusters unexpectedly failed during the first leg of its journey. Stich and Mark Nappi, vice president and program manager of the Commercial Crew Program for Boeing, also said that engineers are still not certain about the reason behind the Starliner's problems. Nappi said that part of the aim is conducting the ground tests while the vehicle is still in space is to try to whittle down possible reasons why the thrusters malfunctioned. Mark Nappi said, "So, if (the test in New Mexico) comes back and gives us all the answers, then we can just undock and come home." He added, "If it comes back and says, 'Here's 80 per cent of the answer. And if you just run one more docked hot fire (test on the Starliner in orbit), then you can get 100 per cent of the answers' -- then we want (Starliner) to be there so that we can get that information." Meanwhile, Williams and Wilmore have integrated with the rest of the crew currently aboard the International Space Station and are conducting routine tasks. Several more helium leaks were identified while the craft was heading to the International Space Station, along with the thruster issues. The Starliner's service module, a cylindrical attachment at the bottom of the spacecraft that provides much of the vehicle's power during flight, faced several issues, CNN reported. As per the design, the service module will not survive the return to Earth. The module is jettisoned and destroyed as the Starliner spacecraft reenters the atmosphere and that's the reason why Boeing and NASA teams then opted to leave the Starliner spacecraft safely docked with the space station while they worked to learn as much as possible about those issues. It is not clear yet whether NASA will extend the maximum mission length to 90 days. Stich said officials must clear the battery life of the Starliner for that purpose. Although he noted that the batteries are being recharged at the space station, they should operate the same way after 90 days as they will for the first 45 days. The spaceflight industry frequently experiences cost overruns, delays and unmet deadlines. However, Boeing has faced challenges that have stood out, particularly when the Starliner program is directly compared with SpaceX's Crew Dragon, CNN reported. Crew Dragon, which falls under the same NASA Commercial Crew Program for astronaut transportation, completed its first test flight in 2020 and has been carrying out routine missions ever since. NASA's Boeing Crew Flight Test astronauts spent the day reconfiguring a space botany facility. In its live blog, NASA stated, " Robotics controllers are scheduled to detach the Cygnus space freighter from the Unity module on July 12 and release it into Earth orbit for disposal over the South Pacific Ocean ending a five-and-a-half-month mission at the orbital lab." NASA Flight Engineer Matthew Dominick spent most of the time on Friday on loading trash and discarding gear inside the Cygnus with assistance from fellow NASA astronauts Jeanette Epps and Tracy C Dyson. Canadarm2 robotic arm captured the Cygnus on February 1, with more than 8200 pounds of science experiments and crew supplies. Epps operated standard medical imaging gear found in an optometrist's office on Earth and peered into Dyson's eyes. She examined the cornea, retina, and lens of Dyson to help flight surgeons understand and counteract microgravity's effect on crew vision. Earlier, Dyson collected and stowed excess space station hardware for disposal. During the day, NASA Flight Engineer Mike Barratt routed cables and reprogrammed communications systems inside the Columbus laboratory module. He stowed hardware and components used earlier in the week for advanced orbital plumbing in the Tranquility module's bathroom. Mike Barratt refilled supply kits in Columbus' two Human Research Facility racks with biomedical gear, including sample tubes and needles. Four years ago, he tried it out for eight months, then realized he felt like he was throwing away a decade of hard work and low-sleep nights.When he started his financial independence journey, he thought retirement would be 30 years out. But at 32, he had enough to never work at an office again. However, he said, the appeal of retirement, from playing golf to relaxing on a boat, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/insider-today-fire-early-retirement-google-boring-toyota-win-dei-2024-3">got stale</a> fast.He wanted to <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ex-googler-fire-early-retirement-coworking-personal-finance-2024-2">get back into the workforce</a> and return to an executive position, which brought him much more fulfillment. It's all part of his "life happiness index" that drives his financial and life decisions."I decided that retirement in the traditional sense was not something that is going to happen for myself anytime soon," Mattinson told Business Insider.Mattinson is one of many members of the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/millennials-retiring-early-fire-movement-financial-independence-millionaire-savings-work-2024-5">FIRE community</a> — financial independence, retire early — who has <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/fire-movement-financial-independence-retire-early-millennial-goals-saving-wealth-2024-5">gravitated away</a> from the "RE" part of the acronym. Some previously told BI that after testing out retirement, they felt directionless or bored, itching to return to the workforce. Some wanted to resume their past jobs, while others looked to lower-stress roles like nonprofit or charity work.<h2 id="12c34844-1c24-47e7-90fd-0e6ff7aea6d3">Retiring early, but not for long</h2>Mattinson started his career at PwC as an associate in Dallas making $52,000 a year after graduating from Brigham Young University. He quickly rose the ranks at an outsourced accounting firm making about $150,000, where he became a partner and relocated from Dallas to <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/leaving-austin-texas-tech-increased-cost-of-living-changed-culture-2024-5">Austin</a>.One of his clients worked in the lumber building material hardware distribution space, and at 27, he took over a lumber company which was struggling. At this time, he was making in the mid-six figures, putting much of that money into various retirement and investment accounts.After working long weeks, he sold the company at 32 for seven figures and reached the amount he needed to retire comfortably while providing for his five kids. He said he was living on just $30,000 to $40,000 a year, as most of his earnings went to maxing out his retirement accounts and investing in real estate."I skipped over five years like it was nothing, but if you ask my wife, there were some extremely tough years," he said. "I was gone a few nights a week at a minimum. I had operations all over Texas and Oklahoma. And I spent a lot of time trying to build up this company."During this time, he acquired a real estate portfolio in Texas, taking advantage of house hacking and other strategies to have extra passive income.He said he was drained after years of nearly nonstop work and figured that he would never have this kind of freedom again after selling the company. He took a "<a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/boomer-retiring-early-nervous-about-money-2024-5">mini-retirement</a>" that included golfing as much as four times a week, skiing, playing basketball, and boating.A few months in, he realized his hobbies were getting repetitive and boring. He felt disengaged from his work and social communities, and a part of him felt his quick rise up the corporate ladder was being neglected. He wasn't worried about money, though, as he had plenty in investments and hadn't yet deployed much of the large cash infusion from the company's sale."I didn't think I was going to close up shop forever, but it was like, maybe I'll take a bunch of time off," Mattinson said. "But after about eight months of that mini-retirement, I decided that I had way too much time on my hands to not be engaged."He didn't view the mini-retirement as a complete mistake, as it helped him recharge and reconsider his values. But he eventually noticed he wasn't "wired" to relax for long periods, and he wanted to pursue his passions of growing his investments and real estate portfolio — or, in other words, work."I had this mindset shift of, I'm pretty young, and I don't want to essentially be retired," Mattinson said. "I didn't want my kids growing up thinking that daddy worked really hard at one point, but now he hangs out and goes golfing all the time."<h2 id="2c64aed6-d67e-4b48-9414-de819db36eea">Returning to work</h2>He decided to find new challenges in the lumber distribution space, which he said was much more fulfilling than doing his hobbies every day. He's now an executive at a lumber building materials company doing another nationwide roll-up.He continues to invest in franchises and real estate and has had a podcast for seven years. He has a three-bucket investment strategy of investing in the market, business, and real estate.He recently shifted from a scarcity mindset of wanting to save and DIY everything to an abundance mindset of investing more in what matters and splurging on things that make life easier. He still enjoys yard work but pays for house cleaning or laundry.He keeps track of a "life happiness index," which he said is highest when he balances his work with family and hobbies. He tries to maximize this index by pursuing work in areas such as investment and distribution. He considered switching to charity work or other lower-stress options, though he said the best use of his talents, from an impact standpoint, was returning to the field he left.As part of this, he's less on top of his family's budget than he used to be, spending roughly what he thinks they should but no longer tracking every dollar. He's also been putting aside money for community improvement projects that could benefit others long-term."I don't try to nickel and dime myself if it doesn't make me happy," he said. "I don't want to be a billionaire by any stretch of the imagination, but there are things that I would like to do after I've shifted my mind. I would love to create a park one day, for example, in my area that has all different equipment."He schedules one-on-one time with his kids, plays basketball twice a week, and makes time for tennis or golf with friends, all of which take precedence in his schedule.When considering his "final" retirement, he said he plans to work as long as he enjoys it. <ul><li>Attending the MWC in Barcelona on behalf of Business Insider india exposed me to several new things</li><li>Here’s a first-person perspective from my experience covering a mega international event</li><li>Learn more about how to register, travel, and explore such events! </li></ul>After my trip to the MWC 2024 in Barcelona last month, I have been asked multiple times how to go about it. And honestly, I understand. I figured everything out along the way. That’s why I am writing this first-hand account of what to keep in mind for your first MWC, or any such mega international events, something that I wish I had when I was planning my trip. Registration and travel Now how do you go to MWC? The process starts with registering yourself at the MWC <a href="https://register.mwcbarcelona.com/">website</a>. Once you register yourself as a media or analyst you will receive an invite from the MWC team. This invite also has an NOC which you have to submit for your Schengen VISA. This VISA also requires you to provide 6 months of bank statements and 3 months of salary statements. If you are a freelancer you require an NOC from the publication or agency you are working with. You are also required to share 3 years of ITR while submitting your VISA form. There are almost no direct flights to Barcelona from India. So, you either go via Germany or Switzerland. No matter which route you choose, kindly take a layover of at least 2 hours. Not for leisure, but to make your connecting flights on time. My layover while going to Barcelona was at Zurich airport for one hour, which was a race against time. I found myself running along with my colleagues reaching the connecting flight 10 minutes before take off. It’s very risky, and after a 9-hour flight, you do need some time to recharge yourself. A point to note here is that our immigration happened at the Zurich airport itself, and we had to do a security check-in one more time here. Which makes the situation even more time-sensitive. Arriving at Barcelona This year MWC saw a footfall of over 1 lakh people, and the Barcelona administration took good care of us all. When you reach the Barcelona airport you need to have a MWC series app on your phone. This is where you can access all your MWC profile data. You will find booths here providing you with transportation passes. These passes work like any travel card, allowing you to commute throughout the city using buses or metro. Very crucial for you to collect this otherwise the taxi fare in Barcelona is very high. Don’t worry if you miss collecting one since you can find them in the main hall again. I also recommend downloading the TMB app for navigating across the city. It provides you with the fastest routes and guidance to reach your destination. I also recommend either buying international roaming from your service provider or getting a SIM card from the Barcelona airport. You must get a SIM card or have network connectivity before heading out of the airport. Mostly because there is a serious language barrier and you need to have device connectivity for having immediate conversations as well. At the MWC Arena MWC has 8 halls which are scattered across a 500,000 sq. meters exhibition floor space. So, it is important to keep a tab on all notifications on your MWC series app to get timely updates. You can also access the map of the arena in the app — handy when you are covering the event. Generally, most action takes place in the first three halls. So, I recommend spending the first 2 days in Hall-1,2 &amp; 3. Post that you can start exploring all the other halls. This year, the Google Android team had a good easter hunt going on incentivising visitors to explore the entire venue. Throughout day 1 and day 2, exclusive Android pins were spread across booths in all the halls. If you collect all the pins on both days you will get a gift from Google. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any gifts, though I collected around 10 pins, since I was busy shooting, anchoring and editing videos on the go. You should also be aware of the food situation at the MWC arena since the food is very expensive. Gadgets If you have been registered as a media &amp; analyst at the show, there is no strict cap on what you can carry inside the venue. In terms of equipment. My gear was fairly light, and since I was covering the event alone, I needed to be as light as possible. My gear included an iPhone 15 Pro and a Digitek microphone. The footage I shot was then edited on my MacBook Pro. After creating frames for my footage, I controlled the record settings with my Apple Watch Series 9. And yes this is where the Apple ecosystem was at its full utilization to maximise my productivity throughout the coverage. This yet again proves my sincere belief that the iPhone and Macbook put together are a cavalry in their own right. The evening upload was managed by the editor back home. But this planning was possible because I had the efficient gadgets on me. I would recommend carrying multi-pins from your origin country because Barcelona is very expensive for all this.
