Today, <keyword id="278010" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="LinkedIn-India">LinkedIn India</keyword> announced the newest entrant in the <keyword id="3824443" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="linkedin-influencers">LinkedIn Influencers</keyword> program, <keyword id="1655" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Priyanka-Chopra">Priyanka Chopra</keyword>. 
 <keyword id="824043" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Business-Insider">Business Insider</keyword> caught up with <keyword id="323918" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Akshay-Kothari">Akshay Kothari</keyword>, Country Manager- India and VP-product, <keyword id="28120" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Linkedin">LinkedIn</keyword> to find out why <keyword id="6358582" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Priyanka">Priyanka</keyword> was chosen to be a part of this program. ‘Priyanka is an inspiring Indian to a lot of people who look up to her as someone who has created her own career path, not just in India but also abroad.’ 
 
In her maiden video interview with the LinkedIn India editor, <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/follow-your-instincts-believe-uniqueness-never-afraid-priyanka-chopra?trk=prof-post">Priyanka Chopra</a> talked about her struggle as a struggling actor, entrepreneur, and breaking stereotypes.

 LinkedIn Influencer program currently has 16 Indian residents including PM Modi, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Mahesh Murthy, Vani Kola and <keyword id="957710" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Naveen-Tiwari">Naveen Tiwari</keyword> from InMobi. LinkedIn Influencers are encouraged to post as often as possible or at least once a month through either a blog post, video, status update or pictures. 
 This includes the likes of <keyword id="68907" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indira-Nooyi">Indira Nooyi</keyword> or <keyword id="57060" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Deepak-Chopra">Deepak Chopra</keyword> who are not living in India. 
 
<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Jeff-Weiner-alongside-Indian-Linkedin-team-announces-three-new-offerings-for-India/articleshow/54289587.cms">Jeff Weiner had reportedly said a few months back</a> that LinkedIn will never be a media company and Mr. <keyword id="5893" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kothari">Kothari</keyword> mimics the same thought, ‘We want to share stories that really affect people. We work with various media houses to spread out content on our network and through different social media channels. We are a professional network first, stories and engagement come in to inspire people on the platform. They get relevant content here which they might not, elsewhere, as it comes from the people they look up to. We get such people as LinkedIn Influencers and give them this badge because people want to know what’s happening with them.’ 
 
There are around 500 LinkedIn Influencers globally and LinkedIn tries to maintain that number by adding or delisting the people, as deemed necessary.

A few months after the release of <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/The-Top-20-LinkedIn-Profiles-of-2016/articleshow/53669188.cms">LinkedIn’s 20 most powerful people in India</a>, it’s now time to bring you the names of the Top Voices on LinkedIn this year. 
 
Of nearly three million unique writers on the platform, LinkedIn Top Voices list puts the spotlight on professionals that have emerged as top voices by publishing compelling content. These storytellers of the year are from industries such as advertising and marketing, media, financial services and others. 
 
The Top Voices 2016 have also unveiled some interesting insights such as the top content topic for 2016. India was the most talked about, followed by management, branding, and advertising and marketing. 
 Interestingly, Indians are also reading as much as they are writing. On an average, Indian top writers garnered almost twice as many follows (96,000) compared to the global average. Indian honorees <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword>, Shradha Sharma, <keyword id="6413985" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kiran-Mazumdar-Shaw">Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw</keyword>, Vani Kola, Santosh Desai, Ravi Venkatesan and <keyword id="42749" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shashi-Tharoor">Shashi Tharoor</keyword>, who have also been featured on this list, overtook their global counterparts by publishing on an average of 44 times this year while the global average stands at 36. 
 
As LinkedIn’s team geared up to reveal the full list of names, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/LinkedIns-Co-Founder-Jeff-Weiner-and-Akshay-Kothari-see-quality-talent-in-India/articleshow/54310575.cms">Akshay Kothari, CEO of LinkedIn India</a>, spoke to Business Insider earlier today about the influential writers and storytellers discovered on their portal. He said - “While the Top Power Profiles focused on people who are popular, but those the general public may not know, Top Voices List on the other hand, is all about highlighting the regular, everyday life people who have emerged as terrific writers on LinkedIn.” 
 
Akshay added - “We have seen great content coming from them. These people are not just passionate about certain topics, but they have decided to go ahead and write about what they think. Moreover, their opinions have takers because people with similar interests are increasingly engaging with them.” 
 
As the young India CEO encourages more Indian users to leverage the potential of LinkedIn, here are the 15 popular writers identified by LinkedIn’s Top Voices 2016 list:

New Delhi, Jan 20 () Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran has joined the list of international leaders and personalities like Narendra Modi, Bill Gates, Richard Branson, Priyanka Chopra, Oprah Winfrey, and Sachin Tendulkar as a LinkedIn Influencer, the professional networking platform said on Monday.
 Other LinkedIn Influencers from India include Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Kailash Satyarthi, Vani Kola, and Anny Divya.
 "These global pioneers thought leaders and visionaries spark insightful conversations and discussions on the platform and continue to be a strong inspiration to professionals across industries," LinkedIn said.
 LinkedIn Influencers is an invite-only, global collective of more than 500 of the world's foremost thinkers, leaders, and innovators.
 As leaders in their industries and geographies, they discuss newsy and trending topics such as the future of higher education, the workplace culture at Amazon, the plunge in oil prices and the missteps of policymakers.
 "Business opportunities, cutting across sectors, can be realised through engaging discussions and meaningful collaborations. The potential on the platform for continuous learning, experience sharing and lateral thinking is very exciting," Chandrasekaran, said.
 N Chandrasekaran first joined Tata Group as an intern in 1987 and rose through the ranks at TCS to become CEO and Managing Director of the global IT solutions and consulting firm.
 In 2017, he was appointed chairman of the board of Tata Sons, one of the country's largest conglomerates.
