The actor, who became a household name after essaying the role of Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar's "Ramayan", reached Meerut on Tuesday evening and held meetings with the local BJP leaders and office bearers. "I was born here (in Meerut) and spent my childhood here. The first 17 years of my life were spent in Meerut. I was a student of <keyword id="21103233" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sarasawati-shishu-mandir-school" source="keywords">Sarasawati Shishu Mandir School</keyword> after which I joined the Government Inter college," Govil told reporters after he arrived in the city. Asked what the people of Meerut can expect from him if he wins the election, he said, "Whatever I have done in my life till today was a form of service... This (MP) will be another form of service to the people." In response to a question regarding the Ram temple, Govil said after the consecration ceremony, the entire country and the world have become "rammay". Its length (east-west) is 380 feet; width 250 feet and height is 161 feet; and is supported by a total of 392 pillars and 44 doors. The pillars and walls of the temple showcase intricately sculpted depictions of Hindu deities, gods, and goddesses. In the main sanctum sanctorum at ground floor, the childhood form of Bhagwan Shri Ram (the idol of Shri Ramlalla) has been placed. The main entrance to the Mandir is situated on the eastern side, which can be approached by ascending 32 stairs through the Singh Dwar. There are a total of five Mandaps (Halls) in the Mandir - Nritya Mandap, Rang Mandap, Sabha Mandap, Prathana Mandap and Kirtan Mandap. Near the Mandir is a historic Well (Sita koop), dating back to the ancient era. In the southwestern part of the Mandir complex, at Kuber Tila, the ancient Mandir of Bhagwan Shiv has been restored, along with the installation of a statue of Jatayu. The foundation of the Mandir has been constructed with a 14-meter- thick layer of roller-compacted concrete (RCC), giving it the appearance of artificial rock. No iron is used anywhere in the Mandir. For protection against ground moisture, a 21-foot-high plinth has been constructed using granite. The Mandir complex has a sewage treatment plant, water treatment plant, water supply for fire safety and an independent power station. The Mandir has been constructed employing the country's traditional and indigenous technology.

 They were born together, they studied together and today, both of them completed 65 years of their life. We are talking about <keyword id="309904" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Niranjan-Naik">Niranjan Naik</keyword>, a resident of Navrangpura and a retired engineer from <keyword id="6408304" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="doordarshan">Doordarshan</keyword>. 
 
Both Naik and Modi were born on 17th September 1950 in Vadnagar and went to the same school later on. Today, Naik took pride to say that the way Modi has built his career is impressive. 
 
"But Narendra still remembers each friend by name. I haven't met him after he became Prime Minister but I used to click his photos when he came to Ahmedabad to address rallies," he says. 
 
 While recollecting the old days, Naik said that both of them joined Navin Sarvavidyalaya – one of the two schools in Vadnagar in those days—in class 6. 
 
After being a part of RSS local shakha, they studied together till class 12th but opted for different ways afterwards. 
 
Naik also shared a couple of incidents which he cherishes even now. He says, Modi was an attentive student, a good leader and a person with determination. 
 <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword> had a fascination for the uniform even as a teenager, said Naik. "Being an NCC cadet, Narendra went all the way to Mehsana to see Army troops getting down at the railway station for the 1965 war with Pakistan," he said. 
 
Not just this, but the incident in which Modi is said to have fought a crocodile, was true. "There were a lot of crocodiles in Sharmistha lake where we used to swim. We were not afraid as we believed that if we did not harm the crocodiles, they would not harm us. Narendra, whom we fondly called ND, used to play with the tiny crocodiles on the riverbank." 
 
Recalling some more incidents Naik said, “I had gone to Bhadrakali temple one day when I saw a man sitting in an auto," said Naik. "It took me some time to realize that it was Narendra with a beard and dark sunglasses." 
 Naik, while working with Aakashvani and Doordarshan met Modi after he became the <keyword id="1203295" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="chief-minister-of-Gujarat">Chief Minister of Gujarat</keyword>. And the erstwhile CM never hid the fact that two of them were friends.

	Pathak thinks that lack of motivation among the citizens is pulling this Mission behind. The passengers of the Shinkansen trains also show that values are equally important. They often dispose of left-over food, beverages and papers in the bin bags held by the cleaning staff at the door on arrival of the train at the station. 
	 

	Awareness at a larger scale and change in the mindset of the people are the keys to its success. 
	 

	“Why should we depend on the government to build toilets in our own houses? It should not be a movement of the government alone,” he said. 
	 

	P. Velusami, principal of WASHi (WAter, Sanitation and Hygiene Institute), said the values of cleanliness should be inculcated in the minds of the people since childhood. 
	 

	He too is optimistic about the success of the movement but is apprehensive about the ‘2019 target’ of the Mission. 
	 

	“2019 is an ambitious target. We can try but I think a complete clean Bharat can be achieved by 2025. It is a long way to go. Current investment of the government and the citizens in the mission is clearly not enough,” he said.

The data pertains to all diagnosed and treated cases of confirmed malignancies reported to these centres across the country The country registered 13,32,207 cases of cancer during 2012-19. Of these, 6,10,084 were included for analysis, based on the completeness and quality of data. Childhood cancers rank ninth as a leading cause of childhood diseases at the global level, accounting for 11.5 million of the <keyword id="8118522" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Disability-Adjusted-Life-Years" source="Orion">Disability Adjusted Life Years</keyword> (DALYs). In India, according to a recent NCRP report, the proportion of childhood cancers (0-19 years), relative to cancers in all age groups, was found to range from 1 per cent to 4.9 per cent. Delhi reported the highest age-adjusted incidence rate (AAR) of 203.1 per million in boys and 125.4 per million in girls. Leukaemia accounted for nearly half of all the childhood cancers in both genders in the 0-14 years age group (46.4 per cent in boys and 44.3 per cent in girls). The other common childhood cancer in boys was lymphoma (16.4 per cent), while in girls, it was malignant bone tumour (8.9 per cent). Childhood cancers are presented for two age groups: 0-14 years and 0-19 years to enable national and international comparison, and classified according to the International Classification of Childhood Cancer. Apart from childhood cancer, the <keyword id="6958288" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ICMR-report" source="Orion">ICMR report</keyword> says that cancers in sites associated with tobacco use comprised 48.7 per cent of cancers among males and 16.5 per cent among females. The relative proportion of site-specific cancers was higher in males than females except for thyroid cancer (2.5 per cent in females versus 1 per cent in males) and gall bladder cancer (3.7 per cent in females versus 2.2 per cent in males). Among all the cancers, the highest proportion of distant metastasis at presentation was seen in patients with lung cancer (49.2 per cent males and 55.5 per cent females), followed by gall bladder cancer (40.9 per cent males and 45.7 per cent females) and prostate cancer (42.9 per cent). The <keyword id="6364396" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ICMR" source="Orion">ICMR</keyword> reports suggested that chemotherapy was still the most typical treatment modality for many cancers, regardless of the clinical extent of disease at presentation, including cancers of the liver, gall bladder, stomach, lung, and childhood cancers. New Delhi, Mar 3 () Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday exhorted state-owned enterprises to select genuine NGOs, set accountable targets and proceed with a definitive action plan to achieve favourable outcomes through their CSR activities.Addressing a conference on "Transformation of Aspirational Districts - CSR Initiatives by CPSEs", the minister stressed that the objective of corporate social responsibility (CSR) should be the upliftment of villages.He underlined the importance of having "a genuine NGO, definite action plan, accountable targets, participation (of people)".Recalling his childhood years, Javadekar, who holds the portfolios of Information and Broadcasting; and Environment, Forest &amp; Climate Change, said he has witnessed poverty firsthand and therefore understands the country.Department of Public Enterprises in December, 2018 issued guidelines to all the central public sector enterprises (CPSEs) for spending 60 per cent of their CSR funds on a particular theme every year with reference to aspirational districts.The theme for the year 2019-20 is health-care, nutrition and school education, while for 2018-19 it was health-care and school education.Every year, the average CSR spend of CPSEs is about Rs 3,500 crore and 60 per cent of this works out to be Rs 2,100 crore and this amount can bring about significant improvement in the areas of health-care, nutrition and school education sectors in the aspirational districts.The Aspirational Districts Programme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in January, 2018 with the objective to improve the socio-economic indicator of 112 relatively less developed districts in the country.
