<ul><li><keyword id="11085892" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="AdaniConneX" source="Orion">AdaniConneX</keyword> ties up a debt facility of $213 mn to finance construction of two data centres in India. </li><li>India’s data centre capacity in India is expected to double from an estimated 870 MW in FY22 to 1700-1800 MW by FY25. </li><li>This facility will help the company accelerate the construction of data centres, given that demand is showing a steady uptick. </li></ul>In a move that will accelerate plans of delivering critical digital infrastructure for building local data centres, AdaniConneX, a 50:50 joint venture between Adani Enterprises (AEL) and EdgeConneX (ECX), has executed a $213 mn senior debt facility with participation from international banks. The debt will finance its under-construction data centre portfolio of 67 MW in Noida and Chennai. India is one of the fastest-growing data centre markets in the world, and as per CRISIL estimates the data centre capacity in India is expected to double from an estimated 870 MW in FY22 to 1700-1800 MW by FY25. AdaniConneX achieved financial closure through its maiden construction facility by entering into Financing Framework, raising USD 213 mn for its under-construction data centre asset portfolio. The current facility will finance two data centres with an aggregate capacity of 67 MW that includes ‘Chennai 1’ campus with Phase 1 of 17 MW and Noida campus of 50 MW. To address the growing need for reliable IT infrastructure, AdaniConneX is investing capital with a mission to build a 1 GW Green Data Center platform, enabled by hyperscale to hyperlocal data centre investments across the country. The platform infrastructure financing was finalised through the framework agreement with international lenders, which will institutionalise the development agenda for AdaniConneX. ING Bank N.V., Mizuho Bank, Ltd., MUFG Bank, Natixis, Standard Chartered Bank, and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation have committed to the facility. AdaniConneX raises $213 mn to build two data centers in Noida & Chennai

Indias largest <keyword id="34553" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="renewable-energy" source="Orion">renewable energy</keyword> company, has priced its maiden ListCo senior issuance of USD 750m through a 3 year issuance under the 144A/Reg S format, at a fixed coupon of 4.375%. The issuance was oversubscribed by 4.7x. This issuance establishes <keyword id="4621631" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="AGEL" source="Orion">AGEL</keyword> as India's leading credit in the renewable sector with a robust and well defined capital management plan. The funds will be utilised towards equity funding of the capex for underlying renewable projects under construction by AGEL. Under the structure, AGEL can draw upto USD 1,700m (including the present issuance) over the course of time subject to the covenants of the structure. The notes were rated Ba3 (Stable) by Moody's. Earlier in the year, AGEL had completed the tie-up of a USD 1.35 bn revolving construction framework arrangement for senior debt funding of construction stage projects. Adani Green Energy raises $750 million, aims to become world's largest renewable energy company by 2030

New Delhi, Mar 17 () The Luxembourg-based parent firm of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India has tied up USD 5.146 billion (around Rs 38,000 crore) from a consortium of lenders to refinance the debt taken by the Indian joint venture arm for acquiring Essar Group's steel plant at Hazira in Gujarat, ArcelorMittal said on Tuesday. ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (formerly Essar Steel) is a 60:40 joint venture between L N Mittal-owned ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel Corporation (Nippon Steel) which acquired the Hazira steel plant through an insolvency process last year. The resolution plan, which was approved for AMNS India, was of Rs 42,785 crore. The plan included a further Rs 8,000 crore capital injection."AMNS Luxembourg Holding S A (AMNS), the parent company of the AMNS India joint venture between Nippon Steel Corporation (Nippon Steel) and ArcelorMittal, entered into a USD 5.146 billion ten-year term loan agreement with Japan Bank for International Cooperation, MUFG Bank, Ltd, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Mizuho Bank Europe N.V. and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Limited (London Branch)," ArcelorMittal said in a statement. AMNS India parent signs USD 5 bn term loan to refinance Essar Steel acquisition

"In the first phase the investment will be ₹230 crore. The focus will be on the domestic market. Based on the demand we will look at other markets," an official told IANS on Monday. The plant owned by Daicel Safety Systems India Pvt. Ltd, will come up at CapitalLand's OneHub Chennai, an industrial township located near here. The proposed plant is expected to go on stream by December 2023. According to Daicel Safety official, the company supplies its <keyword id="19705" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Products">products</keyword> to tier I vendor for automotive manufacturers. The company's airbag inflators can be found in all the major Japanese and Korean car makers in India. He declined to comment on the proposed plant's production capacity. "Until now, we have been supplying products to the Indian market from our <keyword id="7320905" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="production-site">production site</keyword> in Thailand and other countries. Japanese firm Daicel to invest ₹230 crore to set up manufacturing plant in Chennai

SoftBank is looking to have its recently acquired U.S. unit Sprint Corp <S.N> take a majority stake in T-Mobile from the latter's parent Deutsche Telekom AG <DTEGn.DE> in the financial year starting April, one of the sources added.</DTEGn.DE></S.N>
The deal, which media reports have said would be valued at about $20 billion - in line with the $21.6 billion SoftBank paid for Sprint this summer, would help the Tokyo-based company leapfrog U.S. rivals Verizon <VZ.N> and AT&amp;T Inc <T.N> to become the world's No.2 mobile carrier by revenue.</T.N></VZ.N>
It would also bring SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son closer to his ambition of building the world's biggest mobile Internet company - if he can overcome U.S. regulators' expected concerns about competition issues.
"More than the financial and funding aspects, there are likely concerns in the United States about how much Son, head of a foreign company, can really open up mobile infrastructure there, and whether the deal would obstruct healthy competition," a banking source in Tokyo said.
Sprint has been interested in combining with T-Mobile for years and top executives from both companies have said that consolidation was necessary in the U.S. wireless market, as cooperation in infrastructure and equipment orders would create a stronger rival against the two biggest players.
COMPETITION CONCERNS
Both the U.S. Federal Communications Commission, which turned down AT&amp;T's application to acquire T-Mobile in 2011 due to competition concerns, and the Justice Department chiefs have signaled they will take a hard line in scrutinizing consolidation bids.
SoftBank may also face its second bidding war in barely a year with U.S. satellite TV provider Dish Network Corp <DISH.O>, which is also looking at T-Mobile, sources told Reuters last week.</DISH.O>
Dish dropped out of the race to acquire Sprint this year after forcing SoftBank to sweeten its offer.
SoftBank is in the final stages of talks with Deutsche Telekom, the Nikkei business daily reported on Wednesday, but sources told Reuters that talks were still in an early stage.
While the German company would prefer a cash deal, SoftBank has considered a stock swap and may have also added a tender offer and other kinds of deals to its options, the Nikkei report said.
Son has met with at least five banks to discuss financing, Bloomberg news reported over the weekend, including Credit Suisse Group AG <CSGN.VX>, Mizuho Bank Ltd, Goldman Sachs Group Inc <GS.N> and Deutsche Bank AG <DBKGn.DE>.</DBKGn.DE></GS.N></CSGN.VX>
Steering SoftBank through the acquisition would be a test for the finance team, one banking source said, following the death in October of Kazuhiko Kasai, a former banker who was the company's CFO and considered Son's right-hand man.
SoftBank shares dropped 0.5 percent to 8,770 yen on Wednesday, while T-Mobile shares closed up 1 percent at $32.19 on Tuesday.
SoftBank's shares have rallied in recent weeks to their highest since the dot-com bubble burst more than a decade ago, as investors buy into Son's aggressive acquisition and growth strategy. They include hedge fund manager Daniel Loeb, who disclosed last month that he had invested more than $1 billion in the company.

SoftBank Is On The Verge Of Acquiring T-Mobile

Sharp's iPad screen production line at its Kameyama plant in central <keyword id="6355311" type="COUNTRY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Japan">Japan</keyword> has fallen to the minimal level to keep the line running this month after a gradual slowdown began at the end of 2012 as Apple manages its inventory, the industry sources with knowledge of Sharp's production plans told Reuters.
Sharp spokeswoman Miyuki Nakayama said: "We don't disclose production levels".
Apple officials, contacted late in the evening after normal business hours in California, did not have an immediate comment.
The sources didn't say how much of the slowdown was due to seasonal changes in demand or consumers opting for the smaller iPad mini and were unable to characterize Apple's overall tablet sales.
Macquarie Research has estimated that iPad shipments will tumble nearly 40 percent in the current quarter to about 8 million from about 13 million in the fourth quarter, although Apple's total tablet shipments will show a much smaller decrease due to strong iPad mini sales.
<h3>APPLE SHARES</h3>
Any indication that iPad sales are struggling could add to concern that the appeal of Apple products is waning after earlier media reports said it is slashing orders for iPhone 5 screens and other components from its Asian suppliers.
Those reports helped knock Apple's shares temporarily below $500 this week, the first time its stock had been below the threshold mark in almost one year.
Apple, the reports said, has asked state-managed Japan Display, Sharp and LG Display to halve supplies of iPhone panels from an initial plan for about 65 million screens in January-March. Apple is losing ground to Samsung, as well as emerging rivals including China's Huawei Technologies Co Ltd and ZTE Corp.
<h3>NO BIG CHANGE AT OTHER MAKERS</h3>
In addition to Sharp, Apple also buys iPad screens from LG Display Co Ltd, its biggest supplier, and Samsung Display, a flat-panel unit of Samsung Electronics.
Both LG Display and Samsung Display declined to comment.
A source at Samsung Display, however, said there had not been any significant change in its panel business with Apple, which has been steadily reducing panel purchases from the South Korean firm.
A person who is familiar with the situation at LG Display said iPad screen production in the current quarter had fallen from the previous quarter ending in December, mainly due to weak seasonal demand that is typical after the busy year-end holiday sales period.
Apple's iPad sales may have suffered amid a weak Christmas shopping period that hurt other consumer gadget makers as well.
<h3>CROWD OF RIVAL PRODUCTS</h3>
Apple also faces stiffening competition in tablets from a growing crowd of rival products from makers including Samsung with its Galaxy and Microsoft Corp's Surface. A consumer shift to smaller 7-inch screen devices, which Apple responded to late last year by launching its iPad mini for $329, are adding pressure.
BNP Paribas expects the iPad mini will eat into sales of the full-sized iPad, with the mini rise to 60 percent of total iPad shipments in the January-March quarter.
Looking to cut into Apple's market share in the smaller segment are Amazon.com Inc with its Kindle and Google Inc with its Nexus 7.
CEO, Tim Cook, who is credited with building Apple's Asian supply chain, has overseen several gadget launches, including the iPhone 5, the latest iPad models and the iPad mini during his first year, is under pressure to deliver the kind of product innovations that wowed consumers during Steve Jobs' tenure to keep his company's profit growth stellar.
Sharp, which also supplies screens for the iPhone, has been working with its main banks on a restructuring plan after posting a $5.6 billion loss for the past fiscal year. To secure emergency financing from lenders including Mizuho Financial Group and Mitsubishi Financial Group.it had mortgage its domestic factories and offices including the one building screens for Apple.
