Domestic short-format video app <keyword id="9292226" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mitron-TV">Mitron TV</keyword> on Tuesday said it has made its debut on iOS devices, enabling Apple users to create, upload, view and share one-minute videos. The app was first made available on the Android Play Store and in just six months, witnessed significant traction with over 39 million downloads. "Given the phenomenal response that Mitron TV has received on Android, I have no doubt that the app will be equally well-received on iOS," Shivank Agarwal, Co-Founder and CEO, Mitron said in a statement. "I am pleased to offer my fellow Indians and content entrepreneurs a home-grown social video platform that enables them to showcase their skills whilst inspiring and entertaining a host of like-minded people," Agarwal added. The iOS version will also have 'categories' which was launched for the Android version recently, allowing viewers to discover videos that offer a perfect match to their interests. Mitron's iOS app offers advanced video editing options, empowering creators to make distinctive content for an immersive experience. Mitron recently raised $5 million, in a fund-raising round led by Nexus Venture Partners, 3one4 Capital and other angel investors like Deep Kalra (MakeMyTrip), Amrish Rau (Pine Labs), Jitendra Gupta (Jupiter Money) and others. After Google Play, TikTok-clone Mitron TV debuts on Apple App Store

San Francisco, June 17 (IANS) Apples App Store has removed Chinese video app Zynn, a clone of the hugely popular video app TikTok, following accusations of plagiarism. The app was taken down from Googles Play Store last week. A spokesperson for Zynn told The Verge that its issues with plagiarism were minor, and that the company was "in communication with both Google and Apple to ensure compliance with their guidelines and regulations." Zynn arrived on iOS and Android in early May and quickly reached the top of the download charts. By the end of May, the app had become the most downloaded free iOS app and a top 10 download in the Google Play Store. Part of the reason for this rapid growth is the app's rewards programme where users got paid for watching videos and also to get other users on the app, said the report. After Google, Apple kills TikTok clone app Zynn from App Store

Bengaluru, June 30 (IANS) Indians have rushed to download social app Chingari, a desi alternative to Chinese TikTok, which is witnessing nearly 1 lakh downloads and over 2 million views per hour since the government banned 59 Chinese apps over national security concerns. Already downloaded over 3 million times, the app which was founded by Bengaluru-based programmers Biswatma Nayak and Siddharth Gautam last year, was trending at the top spot on Google Play Store, surpassing Mitron app, a TikTok clone platform. "Since the word spread that Indians now have a homegrown and more entertaining alternative to TikTok, we have been recording traffic beyond expectations on our app," said Nayak. "As Chingari is setting new benchmarks, a lot of investors are showing interest in our app. We are holding crucial discussions to get a good investor(s) on board so as to scale up our free-of-cost social platform," Nayak said in a statement. Industrialist Anand Mahindra "who never used TikTok" has downloaded Chingari and tweeted about it, saying "More power to you". Chingari allows a user to download and upload videos, chat with friends, interact with new people, share content, and browse through feed. A Chingari user gets the opportunity to get creative with WhatsApp status, videos, audio clips, GIF stickers, and photos. The app is available in languages including English, Hindi, Bangla, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Punjabi, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. Chingari also pays its users based on how viral the content creator's video becomes. For each video a user uploads on the app, the content creator gets points per view and these points can be redeemed for money. The Chingari app is available on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store Earlier, Sumit Ghosh, co-founder and Chief Product Officer, Chinagri App welcomed the government's decision to ban Chinese apps.
