<ul><li>The MG ZS electric vehicle is now available for purchase in 5 cities across India.</li><li>Customers who had pre-booked their ZS EV will get a discount of ₹1 lakh.</li><li>MG is offering a 5-year warranty on the car. Customers also get free fast charging at MG dealerships for a limited time period.</li></ul>MG Motor today launched its second car in India, the ZS EV. The variants Excite and Exclusive are priced at₹20.88 lakhs and ₹23.88 lakh, respectively. The British automaker who had a successful launch of MG Hector, is now doling out many attractive offers with the EV cars. Customers who have booked the car before January 17 will get a discount of ₹1 lakh. It is also offering a special warranty plan called MG eShield. This plan offers 5-year manufacturer's warranty for unlimited kilometers and 8-year or 1,50,000-kilometer warranty on the battery. The car which will be assembled at its Halol plant in Gujarat, is available for order in five cities – Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. “The ZS EV is a globally-successful product that operates at the intersection of an EV’s sustainability, an SUV’s practicality, and a sports car’s performance. It comes with best-in-class features and tech capabilities at a compelling price point. We are confident that this unprecedented value proposition will incentivise more consumers across India to go electric,” said Rajeev Chaba, President and MD – MG Motor India. The ZS EV’s running cost is pegged at ₹1 per km, as per electricity rates in Delhi-NCR. The carmaker also said that it has already received 2,800 bookings in 27 days after it announced it in December. “The number of bookings received for the ZS EV outpaces the total number of EV cars sold in India in 2019,” the press release says. Windmill inspires wheels The MG ZS EV can go from 0-100kmph in 8.5 seconds. It does not look radically different from regular cars, and that is probably by design. It has windmill-inspired wheels, projector headlamps with daytime running lights, and keyless entry/lock. Internally, the ZS EV has an 8-inch panel that helps manage the car. It comes with six airbags, 3-point seat belts for all passengers, a PM2.5 filter and a sunroof. The engine is rated at 141 BHP and 353Nm torque. MG claims that the ZS EV offers a range of up to 340km. MG has also set up fast chargers at its dealerships in the five cities mentioned above. These fast chargers can charge the ZS EV from 0-80% in 50 minutes. Buyers can charge their cars for free at these dealerships for a limited time period. Apart from this, MG will install a 7.4kW AC charger at the home or office of the car owners. This charger can fully replenish the battery of the ZS EV in 6-8 hours. MG ZS EV’s advance bookings are higher than all of 2019’s EV sales

<ul><li><keyword id="5985844" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="MG-Motors">MG Motors</keyword> is launching its electric car <keyword id="8107599" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="mg-zs-ev">MG ZS EV</keyword> in early December.</li><li>India is still warming up to <keyword id="186291" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="EV">EV</keyword> adoption and the biggest roadblock is the lack of charging infrastructure. </li><li>In 2017, India had 222 publicly accessible charging points located in top cities. </li></ul>Iconic carmaker MG Motors has had a warm welcome in India, and now its charging things up with an electric car. It’s launching the MG ZS EV in early December – a car that will hopefully make electric cars in India sexy. The British company which is now owned by Chinese SIAC entered the India automobile market with a mid-size SUV, MG Hector in June 2019 and received an overwhelming response. It had to stop bookings after receiving<a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/mg-hector-suv-stops-bookings-as-demand-is-high-with-21000-bookings-in-a-month/articleshow/70287617.cms"> 21,000 of them within a month</a>. Now, it hopes to have a similar path with its electric car with the launch slated to be on December 5. It will join the two other EV options in India – Mahindra eVerito and Hyundai Kona Electric. Lack of charging infrastructure All the <keyword id="6354973" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="electric-vehicles">electric vehicles</keyword> launched and yet to be launched have a rocky road ahead. And not just because the car sales in general is on a slow lane for the last one year. The cars need an extensive charging infrastructure and India had a mere 222 publicly accessible charging points in 2017 and that too in top cities. So MG is developing charging infrastructure as well. Days ahead of its EV launch, MG Motors launched the first 50 kW DC charging station at its flagship showroom at Gurugram – n partnership with Fortum Charge &amp; Drive India. They plan to add four more stations across Delhi NCR. It is planning to open them in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. “With an aim to be the leader in the EV segment in India, we are pulling out all the stops to ensure adequate charging infrastructure for our first EV customers. Our endeavour is to create a robust ecosystem for EVs, right from charging to end-of-life for electric vehicles in India and the installation of the first public fast charger is the first major step in this direction,” said Rajeev Chaba, president and managing director at , MG Motor India. However, it’s not alone. Tata Motors too is setting up 500 EV charging stations in five cities – Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad – over the next two years. What the Indian government is doing The Indian government has set a mission – to convert 30% of cars on the roads to electric by 2030. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), under the Ministry of Power, has been given the authority to set up charging stations across the country. In a study done by the BEE and Ernst &amp; Young, it was projected that by 2030, Delhi would have 22.6 lakh charging stations, Lucknow would have 6.3 lakhs while Nagpur would have 2.6 lakhs. And there is the problem of the cost. “The retail pricing has been determined to be ₹4 per minute of charging that the operator is likely to charge the EV user with capital subsidy,” the study said. “At least one charging station should be available in a grid of 3 Km X 3 Km in the cities and one charging station at every 25 km on both sides of highways/roads,” Power Minister RK Singh said recently. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also announced tax subsidy for people who buy electric cars during the Union Budget. “To make electric vehicles affordable to consumers, our government will provide additional income tax deduction of ₹1.5 lakh on the interest paid on loans taken to purchase electric vehicles. This amounts to a benefit of around ₹2.5 lakh over the loan period to the taxpayers who take loans to purchase electric vehicles,” she had said. New Delhi, Jan 26 () MG Motor India plans to increase production of its SUV Hector by around 30 per cent after BS-VI emission norms come into effect from April 1, according to a senior company official.
 The company, which last week launched the ZS EV, is also set to review plans for a sub-Rs 10 lakh electric vehicle (EV) considering the robust response to its pure electric SUV.
 "In case of Hector we are planning for another ramp up and hopefully that should happen in two-three months' time," MG Motor India President and MD Rajeev Chaba told .
 The company has received good response to Hector, its first model in India, and retailed 3,021 units in December 2019. Since its launch in July 2019, the carmaker recorded total sales of 15,930 units of the Hector.
 "Right now we are focussing on smooth transition to BS-VI from BS-IV in terms of dealer stock. Based on next two months we will decide but we are thinking that around 3,500 to 4,000 (units) per month of Hector we can do," he said.
 The first quarter will take some beating because of the stock adjustment, Chaba said, adding "but from April-May onwards it can be increased to 3,500 to 4,000 per month".
 Right now the company is producing around 3,000 units of the Hector from its Halol plant.
 With over 2,800 orders received for the ZS EV, way above its expectations, MG Motor India is considering to ramp up production of the vehicle to 300 or 400 units a month after three or four months, up from 200 units a month currently.
 When asked about the company's plans for the sub-Rs 10 lakh electric vehicle in the wake of the robust response to ZS EV, Chaba said it "is also an interesting development now".
 "I think we are going to review seriously what kind of shape and size, range and price that is needed for next generation EV," he said, adding "one concept will be there at the upcoming Auto Expo but we will modify it based on consumer response."
 Elaborating on the though process behind it, he said,"The less than Rs 10 lakh EV has to generate interest in millennials and it has to be a very lifestyle kind of EV. So it won't be a normal mainstream design. It has to be different," he said, adding, "We will firm up our plans post Auto Expo depending on the response." RKL ABM

The Private equity firm, Everstone Group promoted company has set the price band at ₹59-60 per share for its IPO. Investors can bid for a minimum of 250 equity shares and thereafter in multiples of 250 equity shares — which also means that a retail investor can apply for maximum up to 3,250 equity shares at a higher price band. The promoter entity QSR Asia will offload 6 crore shares, aggregating to ₹360 crore at the upper price band. The Indian subsidiary of US-based Burger King is looking to raise ₹810 crore through the IPO, comprising a fresh issue of shares amounting to ₹450 crore. Net proceeds from the fresh issue of shares would be utilised to roll out of new company-owned Burger King Restaurants and for general corporate purposes. The company has reserved 10% of its offering for retail investors, up to 15% for non-institutional investors and nearly 75% for qualified institutional investors. The company’s shares are proposed to be listed on both stock-exchanges — the BSE and the NSE. The company said the issue would close on December 4 and allotment of shares will be done on December 9. The stock will debut the bourses on December 14. Kotak Mahindra Capital Company, CLSA India, Edelweiss Financial Services and JM Financial are the book running lead managers to the public issue. The Burger King brand is the second-largest fast-food burger brand globally as measured by the total number of restaurants.
