New Delhi, Shares of <keyword id="19930937" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="jm-financial" source="keywords">JM Financial</keyword> on Wednesday tanked over 19 per cent after the Reserve Bank imposed restrictions on group firm <keyword id="20838864" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="jm-financial-products" source="keywords">JM Financial Products</keyword> Ltd after finding that the company indulged in various manipulations. The stock tumbled 19.29 per cent to Rs 77.10 on the BSE. At the NSE, it plummeted 18.75 per cent to Rs 77.55. The company's market capitalisation (mcap) declined by Rs 1,484.53 crore to Rs 7,643.63 crore. The Reserve Bank on Tuesday imposed restrictions on JM Financial Products Ltd after finding that the company indulged in various manipulations, including repeatedly helping a group of its own customers to bid for various IPOs by using loaned funds. In a major regulatory action, the central bank has barred the systemically important non-deposit-taking NBFC from providing any kind of financing against shares and debentures, including sanction and disbursal of loans against <keyword id="19913114" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="initial-public-offering" source="keywords">Initial Public Offering</keyword> (IPO) of shares as well as against subscription to debentures. The restrictions are with immediate effect. Besides directing the entity to "cease and desist" from financing activities, the <keyword id="19899810" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="reserve-bank-of-india" source="keywords">Reserve Bank of India</keyword> (<keyword id="19899808" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rbi" source="keywords">RBI</keyword>) said it is separately examining any possible regulatory violations and deficiencies on the part of the banks concerned. JM Financial Products has been allowed to continue to service its existing loan accounts through the usual collection and recovery process. In a statement, the RBI said the actions were "necessitated due to certain serious deficiencies observed in respect of loans sanctioned by the company for IPO financing as well as NCD (Non-Convertible Debentures) subscriptions". JM Financial Products offers a broad suite of loan products. Broadly, it operates under five verticals -- capital market financing, retail mortgage financing, bespoke financing, financial institution financing, and real estate financing, as per its website.

JM Financial shares tank over 19%, mcap declines by ₹1,484 crore

During the day, it tanked 14.93 per cent to Rs 13.50. It fell 13.88 per cent to settle at Rs 13.65 on the NSE. During the day, it slumped 14.82 per cent to Rs 13.50 -- its lower circuit limit. The company's market capitalisation (mcap) eroded by Rs 10,806.71 crore to Rs 66,447.95 crore. Struggling telecom firm Vodafone Idea on Tuesday said its board has approved raising up to Rs 20,000 crore in equity from promoters and other investors by June as it looks to shore up finances for the much-delayed 5G rollout and strengthening 4G services. The debt-laden firm, where the government also holds just over 33 per cent equity stake, plans to raise Rs 45,000 crore through a mix of equity and debt with hopes of matching services offered by rivals <keyword id="19906886" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="jio" source="keywords">Jio</keyword> and <keyword id="19951944" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bharti-airtel" source="keywords">Bharti Airtel</keyword> that could arrest subscriber churn. The fundraising, when it happens, will also arm Vodafone Idea with firepower to improve competitive positioning in the Indian telecom market, where it trails larger rivals <keyword id="19896911" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="reliance-jio" source="keywords">Reliance Jio</keyword> and Bharti Airtel, by a wide margin. The bellwether stock jumped 3.60 per cent to settle at Rs 2,987.85 apiece on the <keyword id="19895774" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bse" source="keywords">BSE</keyword>. During the day, it zoomed 4 per cent to Rs 2,999.90. On the NSE, it climbed 3.48 per cent to Rs 2,983.75 per share. The company's market capitalisation (mcap) jumped by Rs 70,039.26 crore to reach Rs 20,21,486.59 crore. In volume terms, 4.71 lakh shares of the company were traded on the BSE and over 81.63 lakh shares on the NSE during the day. Rally in the stock was instrumental in driving the markets higher. The 30-share BSE Sensex jumped 526.01 points or 0.73 per cent to settle at 72,996.31. The NSE Nifty went up by 118.95 points or 0.54 per cent to 22,123.65. "The gains were led by industry heavyweight <keyword id="19896380" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="reliance-industries" source="keywords">Reliance Industries</keyword> and other energy stocks owing to a drop in crude oil prices," <keyword id="20383505" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="avdhut-bagkar" source="keywords">Avdhut Bagkar</keyword>, Technical and Derivatives Analyst at StoxBox, said. Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) on February 13 this year became the first Indian company to achieve a market capitalisation of Rs 20 lakh crore. The company is the most valued domestic firm by market valuation followed by <keyword id="19950119" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tata-consultancy-services" source="keywords">Tata Consultancy Services</keyword> (Rs 13,88,441.09 crore), HDFC Bank (Rs 10,94,486.92 crore), ICICI Bank (7,61,126.88 crore) and Bharti Airtel (Rs 6,92,041.28 crore) in the top five order. Reliance Industries shares jump nearly 4%; mcap again reaches ₹20 lakh crore mark

New Delhi, The market capitalisation of BSE-listed firms climbed to a fresh all-time peak of Rs 319.10 lakh crore on Thursday, driven by an optimistic trend in equities, where <keyword id="6484188" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sensex" source="Orion">Sensex</keyword> recorded its fifth straight day rally. The BSE benchmark recovered all the early lost ground and finally ended with a gain of 385.04 points or 0.58 per cent at 66,265.56. In the past five sessions, the benchmark has jumped 1,434.15 points or 2.21 per cent. The buoyancy in equities helped the market capitalisation of BSE-listed firms reach a new record high of Rs 3,19,10,019.04 crore. Investors wealth also climbed Rs 9.50 lakh crore in five days. "After a volatile start, markets rebounded sharply to maintain their upward bias for the fifth consecutive session, even as foreign inflows continued to be patchy amid falling rupee and global economic uncertainty. Today's rally came despite weakness across the Asian and US markets, as investors remain upbeat about India's long-term growth prospects," said Shrikant Chouhan, Head of Research (Retail), Kotak Securities Ltd. From the Sensex pack, Larsen &amp; Toubro jumped 4.26 per cent to emerge as the biggest gainer, followed by IndusInd Bank, Tech Mahindra, State Bank of India, HCL Technologies, Power Grid, NTPC, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC Bank and Wipro. Mahindra &amp; Mahindra, Infosys, UltraTech Cement and Hindustan Unilever were the major laggards. In the broader market, the BSE <keyword id="46258" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Midcap" source="Orion">midcap</keyword> gauge climbed 0.79 per cent and smallcap index jumped 0.40 per cent. Among the indices, capital goods rallied 2.29 per cent, industrials climbed 1.55 per cent, realty jumped 1.44 per cent, bankex gained 1.12 per cent, utilities (1.04 per cent), financial services (0.97 per cent) and energy (0.96 per cent). FMCG emerged as the only laggard. "The domestic market initially opened with a lacklustre performance, influenced by weak global cues. However, as the day progressed, a decline in US bond yields and crude oil prices injected some positivity into the market. "This optimism was most prominent in banking stocks. Interestingly, mid-and small-cap stocks managed to retain investor interest even though their valuations are relatively high," said Vinod Nair, Head of Research at Geojit Financial Services.

The stock tanked 6.12 per cent to settle at Rs 1,321.60 on the <keyword id="19895774" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bse" source="keywords">BSE</keyword>. During the day, it tanked 6.76 per cent to Rs 1,312.50. It fell 5.89 per cent to Rs 1,325 on the NSE. It was the biggest laggard among the Sensex and Nifty firms. The company's market capitalisation (mcap) eroded Rs 8,407.73 crore to Rs 1,29,011.81 crore. In the broader equity market, the 30-share <keyword id="19950208" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bse-sensex" source="keywords">BSE Sensex</keyword> declined 359.64 points to settle at 70,700.67, and the Nifty fell 101.35 points to 21,352.60. For the reporting quarter, its overall revenue from operations declined 4.6 per cent to Rs 13,101 crore from Rs 13,734 crore in the year-ago period. However, it was a sharp decline in operating profits, with margins narrowing to 5.4 per cent from 12 per cent in the year-ago period, which seems to have impacted the headline profit.

TechM shares fall over 6%; mcap erodes by ₹8,407.73 crore

Its market valuation jumped by Rs 1,25,591.68 crore in a single day. In three days, shares of the country's most valued company by market valuation zoomed 9 per cent. In volume terms, 8.24 lakh shares of the company were traded on the BSE and over 1.19 crore shares on the NSE during the day. So far this month, the stock has rallied 12 per cent. The sharp rally in the heavyweight stock also fuelled a rally in the equity market. Reliance Industries shares jump nearly 7%; mcap climbs to ₹19.59 lakh crore

The market valuation of <keyword id="20043730" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="jio-financial-services" source="keywords">Jio Financial Services</keyword> hit the Rs 2.2 lakh crore mark for the first time on Friday, as the company shares touched 52-week highs on the bourses. This is the second firm of billionaire Mukesh Ambani-led RIL Group to reach the mcap of Rs 2.2 lakh crore. The scrip of the company surged more than 10 per cent to Rs 331.25 apiece on the <keyword id="19895774" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bse" source="keywords">BSE</keyword>. In the intra-day trade, shares of Jio Financial Services rallied 14.50 per cent to hit a 52-week high of Rs 347 apiece on the bourse. Also, the company's market valuation jumped Rs 27,922.69 crore to Rs 2,20,458.96 crore during the intra-day trade on the BSE. Shares of Jio Financial Services rose nearly 15 per cent to reach a record high of Rs 347 apiece on the NSE and also marked its 52-week high level. In the mid-session trade, the 30-share BSE Sensex rose 59.02 points or 0.08 per cent to 73,217.26, while NSE Nifty gained 15.55 points to 22,233. Earlier this month, the financial services arm of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) clarified that it has not been in any negotiations to acquire <keyword id="19898109" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="paytm" source="keywords">Paytm</keyword> wallet. On January 15, Jio Financial Services Ltd reported a 56 per cent decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 294 crore for the third quarter ended December 2023, compared to the previous quarter. The company earned a consolidated net profit of Rs 668 crore in the second quarter of the current fiscal. Its revenue too moderated to Rs 414 crore from Rs 608 crore in the September quarter. For the nine months ended December, the company's net profit stood at Rs 1,294 crore.
