However, even premiere institutes are now embracing digital classrooms aggressively as they brace for the ‘new normal.’ The <keyword id="63618" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-Institute-of-Management">Indian Institute of Management</keyword> (IIM) Calcutta kicked off classes for its 14th batch of residential one-year MBA on April 20, amid lockdown. “IIM Calcutta has demonstrated acute planning to ensure students’ learning is not compromised. The institute is switching to the digital delivery of the course content. The professors are using ‘beyond-the-blackboard’ methods to ensure students do not miss out on active class participation,” the institute said. The 68 students coming from 20 industry sectors — including IT, ecommerce, automobile and financial services have an average corporate experience of over eight years. “The first thing the corporate world teaches us is adherence to timelines. IIM Calcutta differentiated itself from other institutions by starting the course on-schedule by going online amidst the lockdown situation,” said Shambo B, a student at IIM-C. The institute said that the course started as per the schedule because of the transition to an online platform. “This Covidian Batch will prove themselves to be world-class leaders,” IIM Calcutta said in a statement. IIM Calcutta’s 'Covidian' batch of MBA students kick off classes digitally

<ul><li>Four Indian management institutions — Indian School of Business (ISB), Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore, IIM Calcutta and <keyword id="19483" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="IIM-ahmedabad">IIM Ahmedabad</keyword> — have been ranked in the top 100 list of Financial <keyword id="5472020" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Times-Global">Times Global</keyword> MBA Rankings 2020. </li><li><keyword id="60501" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="IIM-Bangalore">IIM Bangalore</keyword> bagged the top position among Indian colleges at 27th spot, crawling up six places. </li><li>While IIM Calcutta stood at 42th spot in the ranking this year, compared to 49th rank in 2019. </li><li>The top three positions went to Harvard Business School, University of Pennsylvania and Stanford Graduate School of Business. </li></ul> Four Indian management institutions — Indian School of Business (ISB), Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore, IIM Calcutta and IIM Ahmedabad — have been ranked in the top 100 list of <a href="http://rankings.ft.com/businessschoolrankings/global-mba-ranking-2020">Financial Times Global MBA Rankings 202</a>0 for its executive MBA programme. IIM Bangalore bagged the top position among Indian colleges at 27th spot, crawling up six places. While IIM Calcutta stood at 42th spot in the overall ranking compared to last year’s 49th rank. IIM Ahmedabad and ISB stood at 61st and 28th spot, respectively. “For the third consecutive year we have improved our ranking in the Financial Times Global MBA Ranking significantly. This is a testament to the continual improvement in MBAEx we have always aimed to achieve over the years,” said professor Amit Dhiman, Chairperson-MBAEx at IIM Calcutta. The top three positions featured Harvard Business School, University of Pennsylvania and Stanford Graduate School of Business. The rankings were based on the parameters including salaries, employment opportunities, research capabilities, career progress and female participation rate. Of this, IIM Calcutta did well on categories like value for money, career progress, female student percentage, inclusion of international board members and number of female faculty as part of the Programme. While IIM Bangalore achieved 100% in the "employed in three months” category.

Salary Spike The executive MBA programme allows students to transition to top management roles. It looks like their efforts have paid off. "After spending close to 9 years in diverse domains, I was looking to fastrack my progression to top management. This course has been a transformative experience," Prashant Sharma, an MBAEx alumnus told NDTV. Overall, it has been a good year for India’s B-school pass outs.
