<keyword id="6357103" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="delhi-traffic-police">Delhi Traffic Police</keyword> has issued a fresh notification superseding all previous orders regarding declarations of speed limits on the roads of NCT of <keyword id="66" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Delhi">Delhi</keyword>. The order shall be published for the information of the general public in the official gazette and by affixing a copy on the notice boards of the office of all District Deputy Commissioner of Police and all Police Stations in Delhi/New Delhi, the notification read. The concerned civic road maintaining agencies shall erect the corresponding informatory sign boards indicating the speed limits at all prominent locations on the road/road stretches in their areas of jurisdiction for guidance and convenience of the road user/general public. This order has come into force with immediate effect from June 8. Unregulated plying of motor vehicles on a high speed on the roads of NCT of Delhi is endangering the life of motorists as well as other road users/commuters and it is necessary to regulate the speed of motor vehicles on the roads of NCT of Delhi for safety of motorists as well as other road users. The notification has been issued by Satyawan Gautam, Deputy Commissioner of Police/Traffic (Modernization), Delhi in exercise of the powers, conferred u/s 28(1) (b) of Delhi Police Act, 1978 read with Rule 9 (1) of the Delhi Control of Vehicular and Other Traffic on Roads and Streets Regulations, 1980 which revises the maximum speed limit (where road condition permits) for various type of motor vehicles on Delhi roads. For cars, jeeps, taxis, cabs, the maximum speed limit is revised to 70 km per hour on NH-48 (Earlier NH-8) from Parade Road/Gurgaon Road Crossing to Delhi Gurgaon Border, DND Flyover - Mayur Vihar Link Road and NH-44 (Earlier NH-1) from <keyword id="2802822" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Singhu-Border">Singhu Border</keyword> to Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, Noida Toll Road (The straight stretch from Delhi side upto Toll Gates and from the Toll Gate upto the points where curves lasts), Saleemgarh Bypass Road (Ring Road Bypass). Similarly, it was also revised on NH-9 (Earlier NH-24) from Millennium Park to Gazipur Border, NH-9 (Earlier NH-10) from Ghevra Xing to Tikri Border, Northern Access Road from Red Light NSG to T-Point of Northern Access &amp; Central Spine, Central Spine Road from Mahipalpur Chowk to Terminal III, IGI Airport. A maximum speed of 60 km per hour is prescribed on stretches including NH-44 (Earlier NH-1) from Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar to Mukarba Chowk, Barapulla Nallah Road from Sarai Kale Khan upto Aurobindo Marg Xing, Ring Road from Chandgi Ram Akhara to Azadpur Flyover via ISBT, Rajghat, <keyword id="187137" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="ITO">ITO</keyword>, Sarai Kale Khan, Ashram Chowk, <keyword id="40458" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="AIIMS">AIIMS</keyword>, DhaulaKuan / Naraina, Punjabi Bagh, Outer Ring Road from Modi Mill Flyover upto Olaf Palme MargNH-8 Xing via Munirka. The speed limit is also revised on Outer Ring Road from District Centre Janakpuri via Peeragarhi, Mukarba Xing via Burari Xing upto Chandgi Ram Akhara, Pushta Road (Marginal Bandh Road) from Noida Border (Chilla Regulator) to New Geeta Colony Grade Separator via Akshardham Flyover, Radisson Road from T-Point Radisson Hotel to Terminal-III, IGI Airport , Terminal-II, IGI Airport Road from T-point of Terminal-II Road and Central Spine to Terminal-II, IGI Airport. A maximum speed for cars of 50 kmph on NH-44 (Earlier NH-1) from Mukarba Chowk to Azadpur Chowk, Ring Road from Azadpur to Chandgi Ram Akhara via Model Town, Kingsway Camp, Mall Road, NH-9 (Earlier NH-10) from Punjabi Bagh to Ghevra Xing, All arterial roads in areas between Ring Road and Outer Ring Road, beyond Outer Ring Road, inside Ring Road and entire Trans Yamuna area (except roads which are specifically mentioned in the table). The lowest limit of 30 kmph is directed for All minor roads inside all Residential Areas / Commercial Markets and service roads / service lanes. Delhi revises maximum speed limit for motor vehicles

Have you ever considered that your regular commute to and fro work could potentially shave off some years from your life? And no, we’re not talking about road traffic accidents but the slow poison we’re inhaling unbeknownst to us: air pollutants. A new study published in <a href="https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanplh/article/PIIS2542-5196(24)00114-1/fulltext">The Lancet Planetary Health</a> by an international team of researchers reveals a terrifying truth: over 7% of daily deaths in 10 major <keyword id="20026638" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-cities" source="keywords">Indian cities</keyword> are attributed to <keyword id="19900550" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="air-pollution" source="keywords">air pollution</keyword> caused by <keyword id="22110704" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="PM2-5-pollutants" source="keywords">PM2.5 pollutants</keyword> exceeding the World Health Organization's (WHO) safe limits. These PM2.5 pollutants are microscopic particles, 2.5 micrometres or less in diameter, that come from <keyword id="2839914" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="vehicle-emissions" source="Orion">vehicle emissions</keyword> and industrial activities. Imagine tiny daggers — that's what these PM2.5 particles are like, infiltrating deep into lungs and even the bloodstream, wreaking havoc on our health. The study found that PM2.5 levels breach WHO guidelines a staggering 99.8% of the time in these cities. The analysis covered major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Shimla and Varanasi. A staggering 7.2% of deaths in these cities, translating to roughly 33,000 annually, were associated with short-term PM2.5 levels exceeding the WHO's recommended limit (15 micrograms per cubic metre) between 2008 and 2019. Delhi, unfortunately, takes the crown for the most polluted. A shocking 11.5% of its annual deaths are attributed to air pollution, translating to a devastating 12,000 lives lost each year. The link between PM2.5 and mortality is undeniable. Researchers found that a mere 10 microgram per cubic metre increase in these pollutants correlates with a 1.4% rise in daily deaths. This risk factor doubles when considering only levels below India's air quality standards, which are, worryingly, less strict than the WHO's recommendations. But here's a surprising twist: the association between PM2.5 and death is even stronger in cities with generally cleaner air, like Bengaluru and Chennai. This suggests that locally produced pollutants, from sources like construction dust or waste burning, might be significant contributors. There is a glimmer of hope, however. The study emphasises that implementing stricter air quality standards and utilising proven pollution control methods from other parts of the world can be game changers. Lowering and enforcing stricter air quality limits will save tens of thousands of lives per year, emphasises Joel Schwartz, a co-author from Harvard University. This study serves as a stark wake-up call. The air we breathe in many Indian cities is a gamble, with every breath potentially harmful. Taking decisive action to curb pollution is not just about a cleaner environment, it's about saving the lives of millions of Indians.

Air pollution kills thousands in Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata every year: Lancet study

New Delhi, <keyword id="47209" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="finance-ministry" source="Orion">Finance Ministry</keyword> would consider capital infusion in three loss-making public sector general insurance companies based on their financial performance of nine months. The infusion if required would be made in the fourth quarter of the current financial year, sources said. According to sources, the finance ministry last year asked three insurers -- National Insurance Company Limited, <keyword id="94451" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="oriental-insurance-company-limited" source="Orion">Oriental Insurance Company Limited</keyword> and <keyword id="356117" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="united-india-insurance-company" source="Orion">United India Insurance Company</keyword> -- to chase bottomlines rather than topline and underwrite only good proposals. The financial review would give some idea about the impact of restructuring initiated on the profitability numbers and the solvency margin, sources said. The solvency margin is the extra capital the companies must hold over and above the claim amounts they are likely to incur. It acts as a financial backup in extreme situations, enabling the company to settle all claims. The government last year provided Rs 5,000 crore capital to three insurers -- National Insurance Company Limited, Oriental Insurance Company Limited and United India Insurance Company. Kolkata-based National Insurance Company Limited was given the highest, Rs 3,700 crore, followed by Delhi-based Oriental Insurance Company Limited (Rs 1,200 crore) and Chennai-based United India Insurance Company (Rs 100 crore). According to sources these companies have been asked to improve their solvency ratio and meet the regulatory requirement of 150 per cent. The solvency ratio is a measure of capital adequacy. A higher ratio reflects better financial health and the ability of the company to pay claims and meet future contingencies and business growth plans. Barring the solvency ratio of <keyword id="6369780" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="new-india-assurance" source="Orion">New India Assurance</keyword>, this key indicator of the three public sector general insurance companies stood below the regulatory requirement of 150 per cent. During 2019-20, the government infused Rs 2,500 crore in these three companies. It increased substantially to Rs 9,950 crore in the following year and Rs 5,000 crore in 2021-22. In all, the government infused Rs 17,450 crore into these insurance firms so far to improve their financial health. Public sector general insurance companies are undergoing various reforms, including organisational restructuring, product rationalisation, cost rationalisation and digitalisation. For efficient use of capital and to push profitable growth, the sources said, a set of key performance indicators linked reforms have been initiated by all public sector general insurance companies effective 2020-21, when the maximum capital infusion was made. Of the four state-run general insurance companies only New India Assurance Company is listed on the stock exchanges, the remaining three are wholly owned by the government. The government has already announced its intention to privatise one general insurance company. To facilitate privatisation, Parliament has already approved amendments to the General Insurance Business (Nationalisation) Act (GIBNA). Finance Minister <keyword id="129243" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="nirmala-sitharaman" source="Orion">Nirmala Sitharaman</keyword> in the Budget 2021-22 announced a big-ticket privatisation agenda, which included two public sector banks and one general insurance company. "We propose to take up the privatisation of two public sector Banks and one general insurance company in the year 2021-22. This would require legislative amendments," she had said.

<ul class="summary-list"><li>I took two 500-mile road trips this year in two different electric SUVs.</li><li>The experiences couldn't have been more different. One was extremely frustrating.</li></ul>In a regular gas-powered car, driving several hundred miles over the course of a weekend is no big deal. The most unpleasant parts of such an adventure might wind up being some bad butt cramps and bland gas-station coffee. In an electric vehicle, though, things aren't always that simple.Limited driving range, a lack of charging stations, and longer fill-up times mean that <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/electric-car-long-distance-ev-road-trip-what-to-know-2023-6">EV road trips</a> are usually a bit more complicated and time-consuming than comparable journeys in gas vehicles. At their worst, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-owner-road-trip-no-chargers-trickle-charging-outlets-2023-7">EV road trips</a> can be frustratingly long and <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ev-electric-car-ford-mustang-mach-e-road-trip-charging-2021-8">stressful ordeals</a>.I took two vastly different 500-mile drives this year in two different electric SUVs and learned how infuriating — or easy — long-haul electric travel could be.<h2>Charging can take a frustratingly long time in the wrong car</h2><h2><div type="image" title="The 2023 Toyota bZ4X AWD Limited electric SUV sits in the shade, parked by a charging stall." height="1334" width="2000" msid="102499450" hostid="261"></div></h2>Here's the lowdown on the two trips I took from New York City. The first, behind the wheel of <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/toyota-bz4x-electric-car-road-trip-charging-time-range-2023-4">Toyota's new BZ4X SUV</a>, took me to Washington, DC. For the second, I went to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, in the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/hyundai-ev-genesis-gv60-suv-crystal-sphere-tesla-rival-2023-8">Genesis GV60</a>, a small SUV from Hyundai's luxury offshoot.Coincidentally, both round trips totaled about 500 miles, required two charging stops (one on each leg of the journey), and an additional top-up at each destination. But one experience was vastly more enjoyable, and that mostly came down to how fast — or excruciatingly slow, in the Toyota's case — each SUV was able to charge up and get me back on the road. During the Washington trip, I stopped for a whopping two hours to charge, which turned nine hours of travel time into 11. On the way to and from Cape Cod, I stopped for a much more manageable 47 minutes. That's longer than a couple of gas stops, but it was convenient enough. <div type="image" title="A white Genesis GV60 electric SUV charging at an EVgo station, with trees and sky in the background." height="2088" width="3000" msid="102499451" hostid="261"></div>Why the big gap? Every EV comes with a maximum rate, expressed in kilowatts, at which it can accept power from roadside charging stations. The higher a model's rating, the quicker it can theoretically recharge its battery — as long as you find a plug with a kW rating that's equal to or greater than your car's. (I say "theoretically" because a lot of factors, from the outside temperature to the state of the charging station itself, could affect the duration of your session.)The <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/toyota-bz4x-suv-review-tesla-rival-range-charging-problem-photos-2023-4">BZ4X Limited AWD</a> that Toyota lent me rates at an unimpressive 100 kW. The higher-tech GV60 maxes out at about 230 kW in my experience. The even bigger snag was that I never observed close to the Toyota's top rate, leading to some long and boring charging sessions. A Toyota spokesperson said the BZ4X sometimes slowed down fast charging to reduce wear on the battery pack and increase its lifespan. <div type="image" title="The 2023 Toyota bZ4X AWD Limited, viewed from the front against a blue sky." height="1334" width="2000" msid="102499454" hostid="261"></div>During my first stop in the Toyota, it refused to pull more than 35 kW, so 37% to 74% — or 95 miles of estimated range — took a full 45 minutes. In Washington, 3% to 77% took an hour. On the ride home, the BZ4X maxed out at 50 kW, so charging from 6% to 80% ate up an hour and 15 minutes. Contrast that with my breezy Genesis experience. First stop: a quick 12-minute top-up from 49% to 80%. Second stop: 15% to 94% in 35 minutes. Both times I plugged in, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/photos-genesis-gv60-electric-suv-tesla-rival-review-2023-7">the GV60</a> started sucking in electricity at over 230 kW almost immediately. <div type="image" title="A charging cable is shown plugged into the 2023 Toyota bZ4X AWD Limited electric SUV." height="3000" width="2000" msid="102499701" hostid="261"></div>It all convinced me that charging speed is way more important than a vehicle's total range. While the Environmental Protection Agency says these two vehicles can travel similar distances on a full charge (222 miles for the Toyota and 235 miles for the Genesis), one is clearly better suited for long trips. But keep in mind that 100-kW charging plugs are more common than ones that can provide 200 kW and up. Also, remember that the vast and mostly exclusive <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-only-ev-worth-buying-right-now-charging-nacs-ccs-2023-7">Tesla Supercharger network</a> means extended drives are simpler for <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-owners-share-unexpected-headaches-owning-ev-electric-car-2023-7">Tesla owners</a> than buyers of other EVs. <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla">Tesla</a> drivers can input a destination into their car's navigation system, and the vehicle will suggest a route that includes pit stops. Keeping the cabin nice and toasty would have meant an extra charging stop and even more travel time, so I instead bundled up and shivered my way to sunrise. It wasn't much fun. Cold temperatures deal a blow to EV range mainly because running the heater consumes a lot of energy — energy that then can't be used for forward motion. In a gas car, the engine gives off heat as a byproduct. Consumer Reports ran tests on several EV models and found that the <a href="https://www.consumerreports.org/cars/hybrids-evs/how-temperature-affects-electric-vehicle-range-a4873569949/">cold diminished a car's range by about 25%</a>. The Cape Cod trip was in July, so I used the air conditioner a bit. That didn't draw much power but did knock down the range displayed in the Genesis' screen by a few miles. <div type="image" title="A white Genesis GV60 SUV charges at an EVgo charging station, with an overcast sky seen in the background." height="1960" width="3000" msid="102499706" hostid="261"></div><h2>Don't write off slow charging</h2>It's not all about fast charging. I learned charging slowly while you're parked can make EV road trips more seamless. I arrived in Washington with a 6% charge remaining, so I knew I needed to charge up before hitting the road back to New York. While slow (also known as level 2) charging plugs are becoming more common in apartment complexes, the one I visited in Washington didn't have one. So I drove the BZ4X to a fast-charging station the following morning and left the car plugged in for an hour while sightseeing. It wasn't the worst inconvenience, but vacations are supposed to be about enjoying yourself — not the logistics of keeping your car from dying.In Cape Cod, I stayed with friends who had a garage — and, more importantly, a power outlet in the garage. <div type="image" title="The Genesis GV60." height="1333" width="2000" msid="102499710" hostid="261"></div>I left <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/genesis-gv60-ev-tesla-rival-facial-recognition-fingerprint-review-2023-7">the GV60</a> plugged in for hours at a time, and over the course of the weekend, it recharged from 20% to 65%. Regular household outlets provide only a trickle of electricity, so EV owners can't rely on them exclusively. Still, the low-voltage plug gave the SUV enough juice to eliminate a charging detour and for me to hit the road home with a solid charge.In the past, drivers never had to think all that hard about how their choice of vehicle, ambient temperature, or access to electrical plugs might affect a vacation. I took 2 500-mile drives in electric SUVs and experienced the good, the bad, and the ugly of EV road tripping

<ul class="summary-list"><li>I drove the new Toyota bZ4X electric SUV from New York to Washington DC, and back. </li><li>The nine-hour drive involved three hours of charging. </li></ul>Electric cars are <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/electric-car-best-reasons-to-buy-speed-technology-cargo-space-2023-1">quick, quiet, and kind to the planet</a>, but limited range and lengthy charging times mean road trips aren't exactly their strong suit. That's what I learned when I took <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/toyota-bz4x-suv-review-tesla-rival-range-charging-problem-photos-2023-4">Toyota's new bZ4X SUV</a> from New York to Washington DC one weekend in early April. The 500-mile journey wasn't some epic coast-to-coast adventure, but rather the kind of long-haul drive someone might casually take a few times per year and not think twice about — if they're behind the wheel of a regular gas car. In a battery-powered vehicle, though, things aren't always that simple. <h2>Charging can take a frustratingly long time</h2><div type="image" title="The 2023 Toyota bZ4X AWD Limited, viewed from the front against a blue sky." height="1334" width="2000" msid="99518016" hostid="261"></div>Let's nerd out for just one moment to establish some basic concepts. Every EV has a maximum charging rate, expressed in kilowatts (kW), that governs the amount of power it can accept from <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ev-charging-stations-explained-levels-plugs-tesla-supercharger-2022-12">roadside fast chargers</a>. For the bZ4X AWD Toyota provided, that's an uncompetitive 100 kW. The higher an EV's rating, the faster you can hypothetically charge — so long as you find a charging plug whose rating is equal or greater. But you don't always achieve that max charge rate due to the charger, the temperature of the battery, or, in my case, settings built into the vehicle itself. The Toyota refused to pull more than 35 kW, so just getting to 74% took a full 45 minutes of waiting around — not exactly something you want to do at night when you still have hours of driving ahead of you.That stint added 95 miles of range, according to the SUV's estimates. This time, the Toyota wouldn't budge past 50 kW, so charging to 80% took an agonizing hour and 15 minutes. That left me with a bit more range than I wound up needing, and I got home with about 25% to spare. Total it all up and charging stops added two hours of travel time on top of the roughly nine-hour trip. But this experience isn't universal. <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-supercharger-charging-first-time-experience-compared-to-other-evs-2022-9">Teslas charge quickly</a> and <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/electric-car-charging-non-tesla-at-supercharger-kia-2023-3">benefit from an expansive, private charging network</a>. Some Hyundai batteries can charge to nearly full in the time it takes to find a bathroom and grab some beef jerky. Many <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/mercedes-maybach-eqs-suv-electric-luxury-interior-photos-2023-4">vehicles</a> <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/longest-range-electric-cars-2023-3">beat the Toyota's so-so 222-mile range</a>, cutting down the frequency and urgency of pit stops. <h2>You need to leave yourself a big range buffer</h2>Each time I charged up, I made sure to create a comfortable buffer between the distance Google Maps said I had left and the Toyota's remaining range, as indicated on its screen. I've run out of range too far from a charging station before, and <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ev-electric-car-ford-mustang-mach-e-road-trip-charging-2021-8">it wasn't fun</a>. <div type="image" title="The 2023 Toyota bZ4X AWD Limited." height="1334" width="2000" msid="99518021" hostid="261"></div>That turned out to be a savvy move. Factors like high speeds, inclines, and — as we'll discuss in more detail later — use of the climate settings can deplete an <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/toyota-ev-drives-1200-miles-range-wireless-charging-roads-electreon-2023-6">EV's range</a> faster than expected. So unless you know your EV well, don't blindly trust what it tells you. Here's an example. When I left the Electrify America station in New Jersey and set off for DC, the Toyota indicated 188 miles of range— plenty to drive the 138 miles remaining, right? Nope.I watched my beautiful buffer wither away to just 11 miles by the time I arrived, triggering an unsettling message telling me to charge soon. A couple of wrong turns dropped my final range to just nine miles. If you aren't en route somewhere, you can plug in and go about your day.The morning after I arrived in DC, I checked the car and saw its range had dropped overnight to six miles. Since I didn't want to sit through a full hour of charging right before hitting the road back home the next day, I looked for a charger in the city and found some EVgo stalls near Union Station.I drove over, plugged in, and went sightseeing for a couple of hours. All the while, I was able to check the car's charging progress through the EVgo app on my phone. But electric cars use energy from their batteries to make heat, leaving drivers <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/electric-car-polestar-2-cold-weather-driving-range-2022-1">choosing between maximum range and maximum comfort</a>. I hit the road back to New York on a chilly morning with 176 miles of range. When I went to turn on the heat, the indicated range plummeted to 125 miles. The options became: Stay toasty and charge twice, or endure the cold and stick with the planned one-stop strategy. Given the bZ4X's lackluster range and my previous, lengthy experiences charging it, I went with the latter. I bundled up and relied mostly on the seat and steering-wheel warmers (which are more efficient than the regular heater) to make things almost bearable. I'd be lying if I said I didn't curse these silly electric cars under my breath once or twice. The telecom firm also said this was possible because of stand-alone 5G architecture with zero dependencies on the 4G network, of the largest and best mix of 5G spectrum across 700 MHz, 3500 MHz, and 26 GHz bands and that it seamlessly combines this fifth-generation mobile (5G) frequencies into a single robust "data highway", using an advanced tech called Carrier Aggregation. It added more Jio users in Delhi-NCR will continue to be invited to the Jio Welcome Offer. Sticker shock is among the biggest factors keeping consumers from going electric, <a href="https://www.autolist.com/news-and-analysis/2022-survey-electric-vehicles">studies show</a>. And who can blame them? Electric-vehicle powerhouse Tesla doesn't sell a car that costs <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-cost-breakdown-buying-guide-2021-3">less than $47,000</a>. According to <a href="https://www.coxautoinc.com/market-insights/kbb-atp-may-2022/#:~:text=over%20%2464%2C000%20according%20to%20Kelley%20Blue%20Book%20estimates">Kelley Blue Book</a>, the average new EV sold for $64,000 in May as <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/why-gas-prices-so-high-crude-oil-market-crack-spreads-2022-5">mind-boggling gas prices</a> pushed people to rethink what's powering their cars. Slowly but surely, though, carmakers are cooking up good battery-powered cars that don't require draining the college fund. <div type="image" title="The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV." height="1667" width="2500" msid="92621272" hostid="261" sizebytes="217030"></div>Case in point: the Chevrolet Bolt EUV, a new compact SUV that isn't trying to be astoundingly sexy, fast, or luxurious, but rather focuses on offering value. And it accomplishes that in spades, delivering healthy range, a comfy driving experience, and some advanced <keyword id="6358815" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="tech" source="Orion">tech</keyword> — all for less than $35,000 to start. <h2>Chevy Bolt EUV: The basics</h2>The <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/chevy-bolt-euv-affordable-electric-car-review-pros-cons-2022-6">Bolt EUV</a> is new for 2022, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/chevrolet-bolt-ev-euv-crossover-affordable-evs-electric-vehicles-2021-2">launched last spring</a> alongside the refreshed Bolt EV hatchback. The EUV, which stands for "electric utility vehicle," is a bit bigger and less egg-shaped than the EV, but they share the same guts. Both Bolts took a little hiatus due to faulty batteries that could catch fire, but they're back in production as of April. The 2022 Bolt EUV comes in two trim levels, in addition to a limited-edition model that kicked off sales:<ul><li>Bolt EUV LT ($34,495, including destination fee): comes with 247 miles of range, a 10.2-inch touchscreen, and fabric seats. </li><li>Bolt EUV Premier ($38,995): adds leather seats, extra safety features, adaptive cruise control, optional Super Cruise, and other features. </li></ul><div type="image" title="The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV." height="1454" width="2500" msid="92621273" hostid="261" sizebytes="595468"></div>The Premier model Chevrolet lent me for a few days in June came out to $43,190, including a destination fee and extras like a sunroof, a Bose sound system, and Super Cruise, GM's hands-free driving feature. The current EUV LT is a good value, but the upcoming 2023 model will be a bigger bargain. A price cut will drop its starting price by more than $6,000 to $28,195. <h2>What stands out: Solid range and available Super Cruise</h2>The Bolt EUV is 6.3 inches longer than its hatchback counterpart, with much of that extra size going toward rear-seat legroom. I can confirm: The back seat is roomy enough for big adults, and its flat floor makes the middle seat more usable. Overall, the interior is stylish, comfortable, and although there's a lot of hard plastic, there are also some nicer touches. My tester had plenty of gloss-black trim and leather seats with an intricate geometric pattern.<div type="image" title="The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV." height="1667" width="2500" msid="92621274" hostid="261" sizebytes="199598"></div>No clunky, frustrating touchscreen here; the Bolt's 10.2-inch display is responsive to taps and easy to use. Thankfully, you don't have to use it for everything — the Bolt EUV has physical buttons for the climate controls, which isn't true of many new cars these days. On the road, the EUV isn't nearly as quick or agile as a Tesla or Ford's Mustang Mach-E, but acceleration is still punchy thanks to a motor that promises 200 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. The EUV rides smoothly over bumps and stays quiet, even at highway speeds. <div type="image" title="The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV." height="1925" width="2500" msid="92621275" hostid="261" sizebytes="205798"></div>Speaking of highway driving, the EUV has a trick up its sleeve you won't find in many other vehicles: Super Cruise. It's the first non-Cadillac to get <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/cadillac-escalade-super-cruise-hands-free-road-trip-spoiled-me-2022-6">GM's excellent hands-free driving feature</a>, which takes the monotony out of long road trips by automating some elements of highway driving. Super Cruise uses sensors and cameras to steer, accelerate, and brake on approved roads, so long as drivers still pay attention while it does so. The system worked pretty well in my experience, but it isn't perfect. Once I had to jerk it out of an exit lane that it accidentally veered into. <div type="image" title="The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV." height="1783" width="2500" msid="92621276" hostid="261" sizebytes="380244"></div>Super Cruise is optional in the EUV Premier, but other advanced safety tech like lane-keep assist and forward-collision warning comes standard. The Bolt EUV delivers on all-important range with <a href="https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/Find.do?action=sbs&amp;id=43954">247 miles</a>, according to the EPA's estimates. That's a bit less than the smaller Bolt EV, but it's competitive with pricier rivals like the base Mustang Mach-E (247 miles), <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/kia-niro-ev-review-electric-car-range-price-specs-photos-2020-5">Kia Niro EV</a> (239 miles), and <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/volkswagen-vw-id4-awd-affordable-electric-crossover-suv-review-2021-12">Volkswagen ID.4</a> (260 miles).<div type="image" title="The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV." height="1875" width="2500" msid="92621277" hostid="261" sizebytes="334470"></div>What's more, the EUV's digital gauge cluster displays both the maximum and minimum range a driver can expect given their current battery level. A few taps in the center screen gets you to a page that shows how factors like driving technique, terrain, climate control use, and outside temperature impacted driving range over the course of a trip. Both thoughtful features should help new EV owners better understand how their vehicle performs and, hopefully, not get stranded. <h2>What falls short: Slower charging, lacks all-wheel drive</h2>The Bolt EUV's biggest weakness is that it can't charge nearly as quickly as rivals. It can accept 55 kilowatts of charging power, allowing it to add 95 miles of range in 30 minutes, according to Chevy. Compare that to the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/hyundai-ioniq-5-electric-suv-ev-review-price-range-photos-2022-4">Hyundai Ioniq 5</a> — one of the fastest-charging EVs on the market — which can recoup some 200 miles of range in 18 minutes using a 350-kilowatt station. <div type="image" title="The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV." height="1962" width="2500" msid="92621278" hostid="261" sizebytes="829382"></div>This shouldn't pose much of an issue for anyone who plans to charge at home, but it could add extra hassle to extended trips with multiple charging stops. The EUV also doesn't quite earn the "U" in its name. You can't get it with all-wheel drive (which is <a href="https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/cars/talking-cars-79-all-wheel-drive-what-is-it-good-for">better for snow and other slippery conditions</a>), and cargo space is almost identical to the Bolt EV. There's room for a few suitcases behind the back seats, but not a huge amount of stuff. And unlike <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ford-electric-f150-lightning-pickup-truck-frunk-coolest-features-2021-9">lots of other EVs</a>, there's no frunk. <div type="image" title="The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV." height="1667" width="2500" msid="92621279" hostid="261" sizebytes="615548"></div><h2>Our impressions: A good value that's getting better</h2>The Bolt EUV's slow charging speeds and so-so cargo space behind the rear seats mean it's not ideal for epic road trips. But it's a great option for commutes and shorter trips thanks to its compact size, parkability, and its lack of climate-warming emissions. Importantly, the EUV brings another accessible SUV to the burgeoning EV market. But keep in mind: GM's vehicles no longer qualify for the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ev-tax-credit-2021-electric-car-7500-federal-30d-explained-2021-8">$7,500 federal tax credit</a> for plug-in purchases, which phases out based on how many cars a company sells. Other automakers still benefit from the program, and there's a full list <a href="https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/taxevb.shtml">here</a>.<keyword id="6358835" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="electric-cars" source="Orion">Electric cars</keyword> are still far from being truly cheap, but the Bolt EUV — especially after its price cut — represents a step in the right direction.

"This optical fibre cable project is a gift for the people of Andaman before the Independence Day. This is a symbol of our commitment towards ease of living. Be it online classes, tourism, banking, shopping, or telemedicine, thousands of families in Andaman and Nicobar will now get access," Modi said. The <keyword id="71" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Prime-Minister">Prime Minister</keyword> said that tourists will also reap huge benefits from this facility as better net connectivity is the first priority of any tourist destination. "The problem of mobile and <keyword id="735633" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="internet-connectivity">Internet connectivity</keyword> has now been resolved. Apart from this, physical connectivity through road, air, and water is also being strengthened." He pointed out that the project will lead to high-speed broadband connectivity, fast and reliable mobile and landline telecom services, which in turn will give a big boost to the local economy and delivery of e-governance, telemedicine, and tele-education services. The project is funded by the government of India through the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) under the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications. About 2,300-km long cable has been laid at a cost of about Rs 1,224 crore. The submarine cable will also connect Port Blair to Swaraj Dweep, Little Andaman, Car Nicobar, Kamorta, Great Nicobar, Long Island, and Rangat. The foundation stone of this project was laid by the Prime Minister on December 30, 2018 at Port Blair. The submarine OFC link will deliver a bandwidth of 2x200 Gigabits per second between Chennai and Port Blair, and 2x100 Gbps between Port Blair and other islands. Provision of reliable, robust, and high-speed telecom and broadband facilities in these islands will be a landmark achievement from the viewpoint of consumers, as well as for strategic and governance reasons. The 4G mobile services, which were constrained due to limited backhaul bandwidth provided via satellite, will also see a major improvement. Enhanced telecom and broadband connectivity will boost tourism and employment generation in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and also give an impetus to the economy and thus raise the standards of living of the populace. Better connectivity will also facilitate delivery of e-governance services such as telemedicine and tele-education. Small enterprises will benefit from the opportunities in e-commerce, while educational institutions will utilise the enhanced availability of bandwidth for e-learning and knowledge-sharing. Business Process Outsourcing services and other medium and large enterprises will also reap the benefits of better connectivity. Andaman and Nicobar islands' fast-speed internet will depend on a 2,300 kilometre-long fibre optic cable

New Delhi, Jan 2 () Regulator Irdai on Thursday issued guidelines on standard individual health insurance, asking the general and health insurers to offer product that can take care of basic health needs of customers with maximum sum insured of Rs 5 lakh and a minimum of Rs 1 lakh.
The product will be named as Arogya Sanjeevani Policy, succeeded by the name of the insurance company. No other name is allowed in any of the documents, Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (Irdai) said in its guideline.
"The health insurance market is having a number of individual health insurance products. Each product has unique features and the insuring public may find it a challenge to choose an appropriate product. Therefore,...the Authority has decided to mandate all general and health insures to offer the standard individual health insurance product," the regulator said.
The standard product should have the basic mandatory covers, no add-ons or optional covers are allowed to be offered along with the standard product and the insurer may determine the price keeping in view the covers proposed to be offered subject to complying with Irdai guidelines, it added.
"The standard product shall be offered on indemnity basis only and the policy tenure shall be for a period of one year".
The mandatory covers under the standard health product include hospitalisation expenses, other expenses such as cataract subject to sub-limits, dental treatment and plastic surgery that have been necessitated due to disease or injury, all day care treatments and expenses on road ambulance subject to a maximum of Rs 2,000 per hospitalisation.
It should also include expenses incurred on hospitalisation under AYUSH treatment, pre-hospitalisation expenses incurred for a period of 30 days prior to the date of hospitalisation, post-hospitalisation expenses for a period of 60 days from the date of discharge from hospital.
With respect to cumulative bonus, Irdai said sum insured (excluding the bonus) should be increased by 5 per cent for each claim-free policy year, subject to condition, the policy is renewed without a break subject to maximum of 50 per cent of sum insured.
"No deductibles are permitted in this product. No plan variants are allowed. Standard product shall be offered on family floater basis also and it should not be combined with critical illness covers or benefit based covers," the regulator said.
The product may be distributed across all channels including micro insurance agents, point of sale persons and common public service centers.
Irdai has fixed the minimum entry age as 18 and maximum as 65 years and said the policy is subject to lifelong renewability.
"The standard product shall comply with portability provisions and the premium under this product shall be pan India basis and no geographic location or zone pricing is allowed," it said further.
The standard product may be offered as micro insurance product, subject to sum insured limits and the product can be launched without prior approval from the authority, subject to certain conditions, Irdai said.
It has also directed every general and standalone health insurer, who has been issued a certificate of registration to transact general/health insurance business, to mandatorily offer this product.
General and health insurers should offer this product from April 1, 2020 onwards, the regulator said further. KPM BAL

New Delhi, Nov 27 () With onion prices continuing to rule high at Rs 80-90 per kg, the government on Wednesday extended prohibitions on traders from the stocking of edible bulb across the country for an indefinite period.
Separately, Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan did not say by when prices of onion will normalise. "It's not in our hand, the government is making maximum efforts but who can win from nature," he told reporters when asked by when onion prices will come down to reasonable level.
Besides stock holding limit, he said, the Centre has banned exports of onion and importing 1.2 lakh tonnes to control prices. Onion prices are ruling at Rs 70-80 per kg in retail markets across major cities.
"Stockholding limit on retailers and wholesalers are being further extended until further orders," an official statement said.
The stock holding limit was imposed in September. At present, retailers can stock onion only up to 100 quintals and wholesale traders are allowed to keep up to 500 quintals.
The decision was taken at an inter-ministerial meeting, chaired by Consumer Affairs Secretary A K Srivastava, to monitor the price and availability of onions across the country.
The consumer affairs secretary has written to chief secretaries of all states asking them to suitably reduce the stock limits further in their states as per the availability and prices. They have been asked to strictly enforce these stock limits and send an action taken report on a weekly basis.
State-owned MMTC informed that the first shipment of onions from Egypt would arrive in the second week of December. The public sector trading firm has contracted imports of 6,090 tonnes of onions. It has floated a country-specific tender.
Expressing concern over the price rise, Paswan said the situation is being closely monitored by a team of five Union ministers chaired by Home Minister Amit Shah. Finance minister, agriculture minister and road transport minister are also members of the group of ministers.
The group of ministers has already held one meeting and another one will be held soon, he said.
On November 19, Paswan had said onion production in Kharif and late-Kharif seasons of 2019-20 is estimated to fall 26 per cent to 5.2 million tonnes due to a delayed monsoon and then excessive rains in key growing areas.
The buffer stock of 57,000 tonnes of onions has been liquidated and therefore the Centre decided to import.
Meanwhile, MMTC has been asked to work out modalities of transportation of sealed container of onions from Mumbai port directly to FHEL facility at Rai, Sonipat in Haryana.
Agriculture Ministry in consultation with National Horticulture Board will provide an assessment about shelf-life in cold storage facility of imported onions from Egypt. MMTC has informed that onions from Turkey/Holland can be stored for relatively longer periods as compared to those from Egypt given the respective climatic conditions. MJH MR
