The order shall be published for the information of the general public in the official gazette and by affixing a copy on the notice boards of the office of all District Deputy Commissioner of Police and all Police Stations in Delhi/New Delhi, the notification read. The concerned civic road maintaining agencies shall erect the corresponding informatory sign boards indicating the speed limits at all prominent locations on the road/road stretches in their areas of jurisdiction for guidance and convenience of the road user/general public. This order has come into force with immediate effect from June 8. Unregulated plying of motor vehicles on a high speed on the roads of NCT of Delhi is endangering the life of motorists as well as other road users/commuters and it is necessary to regulate the speed of motor vehicles on the roads of NCT of Delhi for safety of motorists as well as other road users. The notification has been issued by Satyawan Gautam, Deputy Commissioner of Police/Traffic (Modernization), Delhi in exercise of the powers, conferred u/s 28(1) (b) of Delhi Police Act, 1978 read with Rule 9 (1) of the Delhi Control of Vehicular and Other Traffic on Roads and Streets Regulations, 1980 which revises the maximum speed limit (where road condition permits) for various type of motor vehicles on Delhi roads. For cars, jeeps, taxis, cabs, the maximum speed limit is revised to 70 km per hour on NH-48 (Earlier NH-8) from Parade Road/Gurgaon Road Crossing to Delhi Gurgaon Border, DND Flyover - Mayur Vihar Link Road and NH-44 (Earlier NH-1) from <keyword id="2802822" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Singhu-Border">Singhu Border</keyword> to Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, Noida Toll Road (The straight stretch from Delhi side upto Toll Gates and from the Toll Gate upto the points where curves lasts), Saleemgarh Bypass Road (Ring Road Bypass). Similarly, it was also revised on NH-9 (Earlier NH-24) from Millennium Park to Gazipur Border, NH-9 (Earlier NH-10) from Ghevra Xing to Tikri Border, Northern Access Road from Red Light NSG to T-Point of Northern Access &amp; Central Spine, Central Spine Road from Mahipalpur Chowk to Terminal III, IGI Airport. A maximum speed of 60 km per hour is prescribed on stretches including NH-44 (Earlier NH-1) from Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar to Mukarba Chowk, Barapulla Nallah Road from Sarai Kale Khan upto Aurobindo Marg Xing, Ring Road from Chandgi Ram Akhara to Azadpur Flyover via ISBT, Rajghat, <keyword id="187137" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="ITO">ITO</keyword>, Sarai Kale Khan, Ashram Chowk, <keyword id="40458" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="AIIMS">AIIMS</keyword>, DhaulaKuan / Naraina, Punjabi Bagh, Outer Ring Road from Modi Mill Flyover upto Olaf Palme MargNH-8 Xing via Munirka. The speed limit is also revised on Outer Ring Road from District Centre Janakpuri via Peeragarhi, Mukarba Xing via Burari Xing upto Chandgi Ram Akhara, Pushta Road (Marginal Bandh Road) from Noida Border (Chilla Regulator) to New Geeta Colony Grade Separator via Akshardham Flyover, Radisson Road from T-Point Radisson Hotel to Terminal-III, IGI Airport , Terminal-II, IGI Airport Road from T-point of Terminal-II Road and Central Spine to Terminal-II, IGI Airport. A maximum speed for cars of 50 kmph on NH-44 (Earlier NH-1) from Mukarba Chowk to Azadpur Chowk, Ring Road from Azadpur to Chandgi Ram Akhara via Model Town, Kingsway Camp, Mall Road, NH-9 (Earlier NH-10) from Punjabi Bagh to Ghevra Xing, All arterial roads in areas between Ring Road and Outer Ring Road, beyond Outer Ring Road, inside Ring Road and entire Trans Yamuna area (except roads which are specifically mentioned in the table). The lowest limit of 30 kmph is directed for All minor roads inside all Residential Areas / Commercial Markets and service roads / service lanes. Delhi revises maximum speed limit for motor vehicles

If all goes well, Delhi might soon be connected to Jaipur through a super expressway. This will reduce the travel time drastically. Highways minister Nitin Gadkari announced this at Dausa in Rajasthan. 
 
The distance between Delhi and Jaipur is 260 km. The proposed super expressway, between the outskirts of Gurgaon and Jaipur, will cover 200 km. It will be impossible to cover this distance in 90 minutes sticking to the notified speed limit, which is 100 kmph for expressways in India (for highways it's 90). Gadkari said the government will notify different speed limits for such super expressways, according to a news report by The Times of India. 
 
Presently it takes almost 6 hours to reach Jaipur. While Haryana government has cleared lands, Gadkari urged Vasundhara Raje to sort out lands in Rajasthan. 
 
G adkari told TOI in Delhi that the present speed limit was fixed at 100 kmph as the country has very few expressways. "We will revise the maximum speed limit. The proposed expressway will take off from the outskirts of Gurgaon and join Jaipur Ring Road (on the outer periphery of the city). We expect this total stretch to be around 200 km. Since it will be access controlled, one can maintain high speed all along the expressway," he said.

New Delhi, May 6 () About 140 lives lost in over 600 road accidents over the course of the two phases of the nationwide lockdown between March 24 and May 3, according to a report by SaveLIFE Foundation.Of this count, 30 per cent of the victims were migrant workers returning to their homes, said the report by the non-profit organisation, which works towards curbing road accidents in the country.The report said over-speeding on empty roads has emerged as one of the most common reasons for deaths across states. India accounts for one of the highest road crashes fatalities across the globe with annual 5 lakh accidents in which 1.5 lakh people are killed."The country recorded more than 600 road crashes over the course of the two phases of the nationwide lockdown (24th March till 14th April and 14th April to 3rd May)," as per data compiled by SaveLIFE Foundation.During the last five weeks, around 140 lives have been lost due to road crashes across the country, with over 100 deaths recorded in across 9 states alone, it said. "Further analysis of these road crash deaths reveals that around 30 per cent of these victims were migrants travelling back home. Almost 57 per cent of the deaths were of people driving during the lockdown. The most common causal factor across these crashes was speeding," the report said. Tragically, the rest of the road crash deaths were of essential services workers like doctors etc who were travelling either from or to their place of work, it said.The states which recorded maximum accidents are Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Assam, Kerala, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Punjab and Tamil Nadu. The report said while there has been a dip in the absolute number of road crash fatalities during the lockdown due to suspension of public transport and general mobility, the rate of deaths in road crashes has remained unchanged, highlighting how unsafe Indian roads are even when the majority of the country has been under restrictions. Piyush Tewari, founder and CEO, SaveLIFE Foundation, said, "India suffers the highest number of road crash deaths globally each year. Though there will be a dip in that number this year due to the lockdown, 140 deaths in over 600 crashes goes to show gains achieved will be lost as soon as things go back to normal."He said the third phase of the lockdown is a golden opportunity for states to fix engineering faults in the roads and institute mechanisms for electronic enforcement so that when things become normal, road fatalities can be kept at low. The 245 km long Delhi-Chandigarh corridor, one of the busiest routes in northern India, is slated to be first semi- high speed project being taken up by railways to run train at maximum speed of 200 kmph. Railways has identified nine high priority passenger corridors of total 6,400 km including Delhi-Agra, Delhi- Chandigarh to be upgraded to run semi-high speed train service. Delhi-Kanpur, Nagpur-Bilaspur, Mysore-Bengaluru-Chennai, Mumbai-Goa, Mumbai-Ahmedabad, Chennai-Hyderabad and Nagpur- Secunderabad routes have also been identified for raising the speeds of passenger trains to 160/200 kmph. SNCF, the French railways, will submit the execution strategy and implementation model with detailed cost of the semi-high speed project involving upgradation of the 245 km Chandigarh route. The French team is expected to submit the final report with details of cost analysis by October, said a senior <keyword id="54441" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Railway-ministry">Railway Ministry</keyword> official associated with the project. The aim is to reduce the travelling time considerably so it has been decided to upgrade the existing track for running trains at 200 kmph speed and French railways has been asked to prepare the draft document for it, he said. According to a rough estimate, it is likely to cost over Rs 10,000 crore with about Rs 46 cr per kilometre for running trains at 200 kmph, which includes rolling stock, and signal and track upgradation on the Chandigarh corridor. Currently, Shatabdi <keyword id="6413405" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="express">Express</keyword> covers the 245 km distance in about three hours 30 minutes travelling at a maximum speed of 110 kmph. The 200 kmph speed will reduce the journey time to one hour 50 minutes with one stop at Ambala. A high-level French delegation has recently mIndian Railways officials and discussed the possibility of running the semi-high speed trains on the Delhi-Chandigarh sector. It was agreed to explore the upgradation of the existing track to enable 200 kmph speed run, said the official.

The car is powered by the 1.5 dCi THP diesel engine with 110 PS@4000 RPM of maximum power and torque of 245NM@1750 RPM. It gets cosmetic changes to its exteriors and a new dash and seats for its interiors. It also gets a new infotainment system. 
 
Duster has been pivotal for the fortunes of the company as it has sold over 100,000 units in the past 25 months in India.

Renault Launches Duster AWD Compact SUV For Rs 11.83 Lakhs

The DoT letter, seen by IANS, said that the telecom service providers (TSPs) are advised that "in the area 2,100 meters from both ends of runway and 910 meters from centre line of runway of Indian Airports shall have no 5G/ IMT base stations in the 3,300-3,670 MHz". "The base station, nodal or repeater installed in the periphery of 540 metres surrounding the area, the maximum power must be limited to 58 dBm/ MHz in 3,300-3,670 MHz range," the letter said. Airtel has installed 5G base stations at airports in Nagpur, Bengaluru, New Delhi, Guwahati and Pune, While Jio has installed 5G base stations in the Delhi-NCR area. According to the DoT letter, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has provided the buffer and safety zone sketch and has requested to ensure mitigation measures while implementing C-band 5G spectrum, in and around the airport areas in view of the safety concerns for operation of aircrafts. The DoT asked telecom providers to ensure downward tilting of 5G base stations to an extent such that the 5G emissions do not interfere with radio altimeters. The new rule will be applicable till the replacement of all aircraft Radio Altimeters filters is ensured by the DGCA. "It is expected that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will proactively ensure the above in a time-bound and expeditious manner. DGCA is requested to inform DOT as soon as the above task is complete to enable lifting of the restrictions," read the DoT letter. As high-speed 5G wireless networks roll out across the world, pilots in the US are also reporting frequent problems with the aircraft's radio (radar) altimeters. According to an analysis of reports by IEEE Spectrum (the world's leading engineering magazine) made to NASA's Aviation Safety Reporting System (ASRS), complaints of malfunctioning and failing altimeters soared after the rollout earlier this year of high-speed 5G wireless networks, which use similar C-band frequencies. In January this year, at least three flights above Tennessee in the US simultaneously experienced altimeter errors that made it "impossible to maintain assigned altitude", according to one of the pilots. One jet lost its autopilot completely, and reportedly had fire trucks waiting for it on landing. According to the report, in February, a passenger plane on approach to the Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans experienced erratic low-altitude warnings as it flew below 1,000 feet. In March, a commercial jet landing on autopilot at Los Angeles International Airport suddenly went into an aggressive descent just 100 feet above the ground. All three incidents -and many more this year - were linked by pilots to problems with the aircraft's radio altimeters, according to the report. For speeding, the subcategories included: the mph over the speed limit where speeding is automatically considered reckless driving, the type of speed limit, the average increase in cost of insurance after one speeding ticket, the laws in place prohibiting racing on highways, whether the state uses automatic speed cameras, whether the state has additional penalties for aggressive driving, and how much speeding tickets count toward a suspension.In terms of reckless driving, the categories were: mandatory license suspension for a first conviction, minimum jail time for a first conviction, maximum fine for a first conviction, minimum jail time for a second conviction, and maximum fine for a second conviction.The study returned some interesting results. Texas finished 51st as the most lenient state in the US, and Delaware finished as the strictest state. According to the study, 42% of states and Washington, DC, use speed cameras to catch speeders. The study also found that the average maximum cost of reckless driving tickets in the US is $845, with the cheapest being $100 in states such as Kentucky, Mississippi, New Mexico, and Ohio. The most expensive maximum fine for reckless driving is approximately $6,250 in Oregon. However, these figures pale in comparison to the <a href="https://crashstats.nhtsa.dot.gov/Api/Public/ViewPublication/810998" target="_blank" rel="noopener">$40.4 billion in economic cost</a> to society caused by speeding-related crashes. I'm a curmudgeon about shoving fancy new technologies into cars, especially when it comes to infotainment systems: They <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/the-pitfalls-of-car-infotainment-systems-2013-11" target="_blank">don't work well and they're distracting</a>.
But I like Hyundai's Google Glass idea.
In its announcement, the Korean automaker said that because of the limited screen size, users will be able to see only things like maintenance notifications. Hyundai's Blue Link mobile app will connect Glass to features like remote remote start and vehicle finder.
That sounds like one of <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/every-car-should-have-a-head-up-display-2013-6" target="_blank">my favorite car features</a>, the head-up display. It projects things like speed, navigation directions, and local speed limits onto the windshield of a car, in the driver's line of sight. It's a safe and convenient way to convey important information, and eliminates the need for annoying voice commands or taking your eyes off the road to look at a screen.
The problem is that head-up displays are heavy and expensive, so they are offered almost exclusively in premium cars.
But if Google gets its way and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/forecast-for-google-glass-slide-deck-2013-5?utm_source=House&amp;utm_term=RR&amp;utm_campaign=RR" target="_blank">we're all running around with Glass on our faces</a> sometime in the future, automakers could skip the investment on the head-up hardware and make their vehicles sync up with wearable tech.
It shouldn't take much work to put information like navigation directions and vehicle speed on Glass or a competing technology. That would yield the benefits of a head-up display, without the extra cost (after you buy Glass, of course).
Even if we can't get rid of huge touchscreens in cars (they're a big money-maker), we can benefit from access to crucial information without taking our eyes off the road.
Nissan is already <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/nissan-has-created-some-sort-of-answer-to-google-glass-2013-11" target="_blank">working on its own "glasses-type wearable device,"</a> so Hyundai's not alone. That's great.

And it could offer a window into <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/muon-experiment-physics-hidden-force-universe-2021-4">new laws of physics</a>. The speed limit has to do with black holes — objects in space so dense that their gravity permanently captures anything that ventures too close, including light. That's <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/first-image-reveals-black-hole-at-milky-way-galaxy-center-2022-5">why black holes appear black</a>. When two black holes are locked in each other's gravitational caress, they will either collide or recoil. If they <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/nasa-image-possible-first-rogue-roaming-supermassive-black-hole-2023-3">recoil and go flying off into space</a>, what maximum speed could they reach?That's the question that two scientists have answered in a recent <a href="https://info.aps.org/l/640833/2023-08-09/2q13lw/640833/1691616553j1lZZmjZ/LZ17765_min.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">study</a> published in the scientific journal Physical Review Letters<a href="https://www.livescience.com/physics-mathematics/newly-discovered-black-hole-speed-limit-hints-at-new-laws-of-physics" target="_blank" rel="noopener"></a>. The scientists estimate the recoil speed limit for black holes is around 63 million miles per hour.That's roughly 17,500 miles per second, or one-tenth <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-fast-speed-light-travels-sun-earth-pluto-hours-2019-1">the speed of light</a>. They calculated that the maximum speed limit that recoiling black holes could reach was around 63 million mph. But that's according to the equations established by the physical laws we know and love today.What if astronomers observe black holes that break this speed limit, recoiling at speeds greater than 63 million mph? A mystery like that could force scientists to turn to new, unknown laws of physics for an explanation.It wouldn't be the first time a discovery has upended physics as we know it.There are still some crucial outstanding mysteries that indicate scientists' current model of physics is missing something.<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/dark-matter-experiment-possible-discovery-new-particle-physics-2020-6">New particles</a>, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/muon-g-2-experiment-wobble-physics-mystery-may-reveal-fifth-force-of-nature-2023-8">particles that are too wobbly</a>, and evidence that <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/universe-expansion-crisis-cosmology-new-physics-hubble-constant-2019-10" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the universe is expanding faster than expected</a> could all lead to new physics.Checking for black holes that exceed the speed limit is an opportunity to find more clues about what the heck is going on in our universe."It will be interesting to see whether nature exceeds this in some situations that could signal deviations from our understanding of how black holes work," Imre Bartos, a professor of physics at the University of Florida who was not involved with the study, told Live Science.
