On this occasion, Khattar also distributed cards among 125 children suffering from thalassemia through which they can get their blood tests done along with other tests like MRI etc. at free-of -cost for one year by the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram. He said thalassemia is a serious disease in which a person's blood has to be changed after a period and its treatment is expensive. The Chief Minister added that the Ayushman Bharat scheme has been implemented to provide medical treatment facilities to the poor, and is a combined scheme of the Central and state governments. Thalassemia patients to get ₹ 2,500 per month in Haryana

After making its maiden foray in Gurugram in 1983, country's largest car maker <keyword id="6363602" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="maruti-suzuki-india-ltd" source="Orion">Maruti Suzuki India Ltd</keyword> is going to set up its third facility with an outlay of Rs 18,000 crore in <keyword id="41646" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="haryana" source="Orion">Haryana</keyword> that will give boost to the auto industry. The automaker already has two manufacturing facilities in Haryana. The upcoming facility will have a production capacity of 250,000 vehicles per annum and is expected to be commissioned by 2025. In the past few years, Haryana has made rapid strides on several fronts, including industrial development, under the leadership of Chief Minister <keyword id="2458540" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="manohar-lal-khattar" source="Orion">Manohar Lal Khattar</keyword>, an official statement said on Tuesday. Haryana is well on its way to inclusive growth driven by a strong commitment of the government towards public welfare and ensuring the advanced facilities to its citizens. Likewise, the government is actively working towards making the state an industrial and automobile hub. The growth in automobile sector in the state can be gauged by the fact that <keyword id="44883" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="maruti-suzuki" source="Orion">Maruti Suzuki</keyword> is coming up with its third plant in the state. <keyword id="6912" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="maruti" source="Orion">Maruti</keyword> Suzuki India Ltd, Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Ltd and Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (HSIIDC) will sign an agreement for the allotment of 800-acre and 100 acre land at IMT Kharkhoda, respectively, at a ceremony on May 19 in Gurugram amidst the presence of the Chief Minister. The event would also celebrate the four decades of Haryana-Japan business relationship, which began in 1981 and continues to flourish even today, says the statement. Chief Minister Khattar said this is a huge achievement for the state as Maruti is setting up its third plant in the state. He said Maruti Suzuki has purchased an additional 800 acres at IMT Kharkhoda for its proposed new car manufacturing facility. The total project cost is estimated to be Rs 18,000 crore. It has the potential to generate employment for 11,000 skilled, unskilled and semi-skilled persons. Along with Maruti Suzuki, Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Ltd has also purchased a 100-acre land parcel for setting up an integrated manufacturing facility for two-wheelers, including engines. The total project cost is estimated to be Rs 1,466 crore, with a potential to generate employment for 2,000 skilled, unskilled and semi-skilled persons. "India is performing well in the ease-of-doing business and the ease-of-living index and Haryana is considered the fastest in both these respects. Haryana is one of the favourite destinations for global investors. Maruti played a major role towards development in the automobile sector and overall progress of the state," said the Chief Minister. "This will give a huge boost to the automobile sector and will motivate multinational companies in other sectors to set up their headquarters and manufacturing plants in Haryana. Along with this, new employment opportunities will also be created for the youth of the state. "Haryana has emerged as a magnet for the industry due to its enabling policies, availability of quality infrastructure, ease-of-doing business, conducive business environment and incentive structure. In Haryana, work was done to develop the industrial areas near the GT Roads and its proximity with Delhi other states too made it more preferred destination for industrial projects and there are dozens of industrial areas in multiple districts," said Khattar. The Industrial Model Township (IMT) at Kharkhoda, where Maruti Suzuki will be setting up its project, is an integrated industrial township with world-class infrastructure, being developed over an area of approximately 3,217 acres. It is strategically located on the Delhi-Haryana border, adjoining the western peripheral (Kundli-Manesar-Palwal) Expressway and State Highway 18. The IMT has abundant water and power supply from the NCR canal and the electricity utilities. Due to its proximity to Delhi and direct connectivity with Delhi Bahadurgarh, Gurugram and Sonipat via the KMP Expressway, Kharkhoda IMT will emerge as the next node for industrial development in Haryana. Regarding the expansion of Maruti Suzuki's foothold in Haryana, a spokesperson for the carmaker company said the company was in discussion with various state governments for their expansion plan but they find Haryana a suitable destination. "This first manufacturing facility at the site will have a production capacity of 250,000 vehicles per annum. It is expected to be commissioned by 2025. The land site will have space for capacity expansion and will include more production plants in the future," said the spokesperson. Notably, after setting up its first car plant at Gurugram in 1983, Maruti has steadily expanded its manufacturing footprint in Haryana by setting up a production facility at Manesar and a state-of-the-art R&amp;D centre in Rohtak. The two plants in Haryana - Gurugram and Manesar - together roll out around 15.5 lakh units annually. Today, the Gurugram-Manesar-Bawal belt is acknowledged as the auto hub of northern India. According to data from the Election Commission, there are over 1.83 crore voters in Haryana, of which 98.7 lakh are male, 85.1 lakh are female and 252 are transgenders. From this, 40.67 lakh voters fall into the age group of 20-29, whereas 44.92 lakh fall in the 30-39 group. Social scientists say that nearly 22% voters in the 20-29 age group will play a major role in the Haryana Assembly polls on Monday, as per an IANS report.

Haryana's eventful polling stations – leaders arrive in tractors and bicycles, voters do pushups and dance

Polling began Monday morning in 90 assembly constituencies in Haryana. Polling began at 7 a.m. and will continue till 6 p.m., officials said. As many as 1,169 candidates including 105 women of various political outfits are contesting the election. Kavita Jain the only woman minister in Haryana becomes one of the first to vote in Sonipat

After a six-year-long wait since winning India’s first gold medal in women’s wrestling in the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=commonwealth+games&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Commonwealth Games</a>, the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=haryana+cabinet&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Haryana cabinet</a> finally approved the appointment of wrestler <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=geeta+phogat&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Geeta Phogat</a> as a Deputy Superintendent of Police in the state police this Tuesday. 
 
The Cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Manohar+Lal+Khattar+&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Manohar Lal Khattar </a>in <keyword id="41646" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Haryana">Haryana</keyword>, approved a Home Department proposal in this regard. 
 
"She is a graduate and a sportsperson of international repute. She is also a gold medallist in wrestling at the 19th Commonwealth Games-2010 held in Delhi," a state government spokesperson said. 
 
Phogat, who was also the first Indian woman wrestler to have qualified for <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=london+olympics&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">London Olympics</a> in 2012, was selected for appointment as Inspector in Haryana Police under sports quota that year. In March, this year, she moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court for promotion to a post on par with her achievements. The High Court then directed the Haryana government to decide on her representation within two months. 
 
But the wait for the reward made the star wrestler frustrated over the years. "Humein aadat ho gayi thi wait karne ki. Sab khush hain par jitni khushi honi chahiye thi, utni nahin hai (We got used to waiting. Everyone is happy but we are not as happy as we should have been)," Geeta had told the Indian Express. 
 
"While other players were appointed (as DSP) on winning gold in the same event, we were denied this for six long years." Geeta Phogat, India's first female Olympic wrestler finally appointed DSP in Haryana Police

Olympic medallist <keyword id="6356003" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sakshi-Malik">Sakshi Malik</keyword> received a heart warming reception in New Delhi and ministers from the Bharatiya Janata Party in Haryana thronged the IGI airport to receive the wrestler who won a bronze medal at Rio. 
 
23-year-old Malik will receive rousing welcome in her village Mokhra Khas in Rohtak district in Haryana. 
 
"It was my dream and hard work of years. Since long I had thought of going to the Olympics to win a medal for the country. It finally happened in Rio," said Sakshi. 
 She will be felicitated by Haryana Chief Minister <keyword id="2458540" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Manohar-Lal-Khattar">Manohar Lal Khattar</keyword> during a felicitation ceremony and will be honoured with a cash award of Rs 2.5 crore. 
 Malik thanked wrestlers <keyword id="390394" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Geeta-Phogat">Geeta Phogat</keyword>, <keyword id="10633" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sushil-Kumar">Sushil Kumar</keyword> and <keyword id="157783" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Yogeshwar-Dutt">Yogeshwar Dutt</keyword> for their contribution to her success. 
 
"It was inspiring when Geeta Phogat qualified for wrestling as she was the first Indian woman to qualify for Olympics. It lit a hope that if one weight category can qualify, there can be more. She also has a hand in my victory. A lot of people including Sushil Kumar and Yogeshwar Dutt have played big role in my victory," she said. 
 
Malik will also stop at few villages in Rohtak district including Ismaila village where she will meet her maternal uncle.

Haryana is expecting a spike in <keyword id="396143" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Foreign-investments">foreign investments</keyword> from <keyword id="1334" type="COUNTRY" weightage="20" keywordseo="China">China</keyword> after over 100 <keyword id="6375845" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Small-and-medium-enterprises">small and medium enterprises</keyword> here agreed to invest over $1 billion in the state. The assurance was given to Chief Minister <keyword id="2458540" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Manohar-Lal-Khattar">Manohar Lal Khattar</keyword>, who is visiting the country along with a business delegation, to attract foreign <keyword id="6355120" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="investment">investment</keyword> in the state, according to a press release issued by the state government. 

	The chief minister interacted with business leaders and Indian diaspora based here to encourage them to invest in the state and take advantage of the new business friendly administration. 
 

	Over 100 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from as diverse fields as textiles, general engineering, auto components, and IT, have decided to consider shifting their units to the state after meeting the chief minister, the statement said. 
 

	Khattar made a strong pitch for Haryana as an ideal investment destination based on its strategic location, excellent infrastructure and supportive administrative system. 
 

	He praised the entrepreneurs and business leaders for their efforts in carving a niche for themselves and invited them for attending the Happening Haryana Global Investors Summit scheduled for March 7 and 8, in Gurgaon. 
 

	As many as eight MoUs were signed yesterday with top Chinese companies to set up a USD 10 billion industrial park and smart cities in the state. 
 

	The MoUs were signed with top Chinese companies like Wanda Group, China Land Development Company Private Limited, and ZTE Corporation.
