One of the factors is the start of the settlement of the war between Ukraine and Russia. This will reduce tensions between the two countries, and international markets will see it as a positive and good move. Furthermore, the probability of the BJP forming a government in 3–4 states out of 5 is high, and the BJP will form a stable government again in the upcoming centre elections [sic] in 2024, confirming to investors that the reforms initiated by the BJP and policies implemented by the current government will continue,” said Sudhanshu Singh of MoneyMakers India Securities. Moreover, the fall in crude oil prices after a significant jump also boosted the rally in the market after UAE promised additional oil production to support the market, which was being disrupted because of sanctions on Russia after it invaded Ukraine. Reportedly, the UAE is among the few members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) that have spare capacity to increase output. Moreover, the US has also asked oil producers worldwide to increase production if they can. And after Ukrainian President Zelenskyy indicated that they were no longer interested in North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) membership, which was the main reason behind the war, market sentiment improved as this means the war would cool off. BJP leading in UP, falling oil prices, ease in Russia-Ukraine conflict cheer up Indian markets

As counting of votes for <keyword id="6359754" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="manipur" source="Orion">Manipur</keyword>'s Assembly polls in underway, the state's ruling <keyword id="14666" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bjp" source="Orion">BJP</keyword> is leading on nine seats, while the Congress is ahead in four and Janata Dal (United) in three, according to election officials. According to the Election Commission's initial trends, the Republican Party of India (Athawale), Naga People's Front, National People's Party, Kuki People's Alliance and independent candidates were leading one seat each. Counting is ongoing in 41 counting halls across 16 districts in the state amid tight security measures, as well as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) against Covid-19, officials said. The state's Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Agrawal said there a three-tier security has been put in place in and around the counting centres and adjoining areas. According to the election officials, around 89.3 per cent of the 20,48,169-strong electorate cast their votes in the two-phase election to the 60-member Manipur Assembly on February 28 and March 5. This year's voting percentage is higher than the 2017 and 2012 Assembly elections, when 86.4 per cent and 79.5 per cent electorate had exercised their franchise respectively. In all, 265 candidates including 17 female candidates of different political parties including the BJP, Congress, NPP, NPF and Janata Dal (United) contested the elections. BJP leads in Manipur; Congress and others are far behind

Voting for the high-stakes Uttar Pradesh assembly elections will be held in seven phases, starting from the western part of the politically crucial state on February 10 and moving eastwards. Punjab (117 seats), Uttarakhand (70 seats) and Goa (40 seats) will have single-day voting on February 14, coinciding with the second phase of polls in UP, according to the schedule announced by the Election Commission. For Manipur, the poll panel has decided to conduct voting in two phases - 38 seats on February 27 and 22 seats on March 3 - coinciding with fifth and sixth phases of UP polls. The final phase of voting will be on March 7 and votes for all phases would be counted on March 10. In Uttar Pradesh, voting will take place in 58 assembly constituencies, covering 11 western districts, out of the 403 seats in the first phase on February 10. The second phase to be held on February 14 will cover 55 seats, the third phase of voting will cover 59 seats on February 20, while the fourth phase polling will be for 60 constituencies on February 23. The fifth phase on February 27 will also cover 60 seats, while 57 constituencies will go to vote in the sixth phase on March 3 and the remaining 54 seats in the last and seventh phase on March 7. For the first phase of seven-phased elections for five states, the notification will be issued on January 14, nominations can be filed till January 21 for scrutiny till January 24, while nominations can be withdrawn till January 27. The polling will take place on February 10. For the second phase, the notification will be issued on January 21, nominations can be filed till January 28 for scrutiny till January 29, while nominations can be withdrawn till January 31 for polling on February 14. For the third phase, the notification will be issued on January 25, nominations can be filed till February 1 for scrutiny till February 2, while nominations can be withdrawn till February 4 for polling on February 20. The fourth phase schedule will have the notification issuance on January 27, nominations can be filed till February 3 for scrutiny till February 4, while nominations can be withdrawn till February 7 for polling on February 23. For the fifth phase, the notification will be issued on February 1, nominations can be filed till February 8 for scrutiny till February 9, while nominations can be withdrawn till February 11 for polling on February 27. The notification for the sixth phase will be issued on February 4, the last date of nominations on February 11, scrutiny will be till February 14 and the last date of withdrawal till February 16. The voting will take place on March 3. In the last phase, the notification will be issued on February 10, nominations can be filed till February 17 for scrutiny till February 18, while nominations can be withdrawn till February 21. The polling date has been fixed for the seventh phase on March 7. The Inner Manipur seat went for polling on April 11 and the Outer Manipur constituency voted for the <keyword id="56978" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Lok-Sabha-elections">Lok Sabha elections</keyword> 2019 on April 18. Since long in history, the issue of protecting the local population from outsiders has been the major issue in the politics of the state. At present, Manipur is ruled by a BJP government under the leadership of Biren Singh. In the state, the fight is between the BJP led coalition that includes LJP, NPF and NPP on one side and the Congress party on the other side. In the Inner Manipur constituency, T Chaoba Singh representing the Manipur State Congress party won during the 1999 elections and from 2004, Thokchom Meinya of Congress is holding the seat. From the Outer Manipur seat, Holkhomang Haokip of the Nationalist Congress Party won the seat in 1999. An independent candidate Mani Charenamei won it in 2004. Thansgo Baite, the Congress candidate is holding it from 2009. In 2019 Lok Sabha elections, KK Ranjan Singh of BJP fielded against K James of Congress and H Shokhopao Mate of the BJP is fighting with O Nabakishore Singh of the Congress.
