Mumbai, Feb 19 () No-frills carrier SpiceJet on Wednesday said it will launch 20 new flights on its domestic routes, including some services under the government's regional connectivity scheme, Udan, from late next month as part of the airline's summer schedule. The new flights, starting from March 29, include services to Patna from Amritsar, Varanasi and Guwahati. Besides, it will also launch flights on Hyderabad-Mangaluru, Bengaluru-Jabalpur and Mumbai-Aurangabad routes, all under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS), for the first time on its network, the airline said in a release. The new services will fly daily and will be operated by a mix of Boeing 737-800 and Bombardier Q400 aircraft, it stated. These services will enhance connectivity between key metros and smaller cities, it said. With the commencement of these new flights, the airline will have a total of 52 flights connecting 12 cities under the RCS scheme, SpiceJet said. "We are excited to announce the launch of 20 new domestic flights. As we add newer cities and flights to our network, our focus remains firmly on connecting the unconnected parts of the country besides enhancing connectivity between metros and non-metros," SpiceJet Chief Commercial Officer Shilpa Bhatia was quoted as saying in the release. SpiceJet said it will also enhance its operations with additional frequencies on the Mumbai-Bagdogra and Mumbai-Chennai routes with the addition of a second and fifth flight, respectively.. The research team that consists of 6 members, found that these frogs live exclusively within the urban environment between Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited and National Highway 66. The entire patch is a former timber yard that’s surrounded by industrial factories on all sides. Why weren’t they found till now? Considering that the frog is only 2cm long, it could’ve been easily overlooked in the urban setting that consists of its habitat. It can be told apart from other frogs because of the thick olive-green band on its head and the darker green bands on the rest of its body. But what stands out the most, are the frog’s distinct calls. The team’s current theory is that frogs may have been accidentally introduced into the Indian landscape from a southeast Asian country. The timber yard, that is their home, used to be a depot for wood imported from Myanmar, Malaysia and <keyword id="8692" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indonesia">Indonesia</keyword>. Not to mention that their own genetic composition is closer to Asian frog than that of Indian frogs. The Mangaluru narrow-mouthed frog is the 42nd species to join the ranks of the Microhyla organisms documented in south Asia. Globally, there are a total of 650 frogs that belong to Microhylidae family.

India’s newest frog species may have been introduced from Southeast Asia

Catering to the huge demand, the Indian government has decided to set up a co-working space for <keyword id="6362513" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Startups">startups</keyword>. The demand has come from Mangaluru and for the first time, the government will own a co-working space, which will have 3D printing and new-age digital infrastructure. "We felt there was a great demand for a co-working space in Mangaluru. Many startups told us that they had to go to Bengaluru or other cities to access such facilities and infrastructure,” a senior official told ET. The co-working space will be designed to accommodate 100 people and a team of officials is in talks with some of the Delhi-based co-working space owners. The workstations will be made available at a price nearly half the market rate being charged by privately owned social workspaces. Several ministries are being approached to help in setting up the space, for instance, the ministry of electronics and information technology has been requested for high-speed internet, 3D printing equipment, etc. Once this model is set up, the government may also launch a patent facilitation cell. "We will select the right people to run the place only after asking for suggestions from the start-ups themselves since it is an entirely new territory for the government to enter,” the senior official added.

Over 75% of shares owned by VG Siddhartha and other promoters in Coffee Day Enterprises were pledged with creditors-- and they are worth much lesser today

Private carrier <keyword id="6358200" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Jet-Airways">Jet Airways</keyword> will now have 1000 more seats with the addition of new services to provide an enhanced connectivity within the country. The new services, which will commence between July 23 and September, include a ninth daily service between Mumbai and Chennai, a second service between Kolkata and <keyword id="6354321" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bengaluru">Bengaluru</keyword> and a fourth daily service connecting Mangaluru with Mumbai, it said. 

	Besides, new daily flights connecting Bhopal and Indore with Lucknow (via Delhi), Bhopal with Hyderabad (via Mumbai) and Hyderabad with Rajahmundry are also being rolled out, the release said. 
 "The additional frequencies have been introduced to cater to the growing demand on the high-density routes and to ensure better connectivity between India's emerging cities. These new frequencies are in line with Jet Airways' strategy to deliver a consistent, full service travel experience on the domestic network," Jet Airways chief commercial officer <keyword id="291810" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Raj-Sivakumar">Raj Sivakumar</keyword> told PTI.

Jet Airways launches host of services to enhance connectivity in the country

New Delhi, Realty firm <keyword id="72751" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Brigade-Enterprises" source="Orion">Brigade Enterprises</keyword> has reported a 72 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit to Rs 133.50 crore for the second quarter of this fiscal year. Its net profit stood at Rs 77.58 crore in the year-ago period. Total income rose to Rs 1,407.92 crore during the July-September period of this fiscal year from Rs 912.19 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, according to a regulatory filing on Wednesday. The company's sales bookings stood at 1.67 million square feet valued at Rs 1,249 crore during the second quarter of this fiscal year.
