Now, however, there's a new phone worth considering - the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite.The Note 10 Lite is aimed at offering the most essential features of the Note 10 but at a lower price. We don't know everything about the new phone just yet - but here's what we do know.The Galaxy Note 10 Lite is built for productivity. Like other devices in the Note range, you'll get an S Pen stylus, which should help with productivity. The display on the phone is an impressive 6.7 inches, with a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 - so images and videos should look pretty sharp and crisp.The phone itself looks good, too. The design is modern, thanks to the edge-to-edge display, but it also offers some older features that many will appreciate - like a headphone jack. So, if you prefer wired headphones, you'll be able to use them here. Again, this is a relatively high-performing phone, and should be able to handle most things that you can throw at it.The camera array is a bit different than the Galaxy Note 10, but still pretty versatile. There's a 12-megapixel (MP) main camera, along with a 12MP telephoto lens and a 12MP ultrawide lens - making for a lens for most situations. On the front, you'll get a 32MP selfie camera.On the whole, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite is an incredibly slight step down from the Note 10 proper, losing a bit of screen pixel density and HDR visual capability as well as a bit of CPU power. Samsung's Galaxy Note 10 Lite aims to give a flagship phone experience for less - here's what we know so far

The much awaited <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Xiomi+Redmi+&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Xiomi Redmi </a>Note 4 is expected to be launched on January 19th in India. The Chinese smartphonemaker has already sent out invites for a launch event on January 19 in <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=New+Delhi&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">New Delhi</a>. 
 
The smartphone was launched in China in August last year in two variants. 
 
One variant of the phone features 2 GB RAM and 16 GB ROM and is priced at CNY 899 which is Rs 9000 approximately. The other variant offers 3 GB RAM and 64 GB ROM and is priced at CNY 1199 which is Rs 12000 approximately. 
 
The USP of the phone is that it features deca-core SoC and has a metal body. The smartphone comes in Gold, Grey, and Silver color variants. 
 
The handset sports a <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=fingerprint+sensor+&amp;sortorder=effectivedate]">fingerprint sensor </a>in the rear panel, however the phone does not run the latest <keyword id="6355645" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="android">Android</keyword> 7.0 Nougat, rather it runs MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. 
 The dual-SIM phone features a 5.5 inch display and is powered by <keyword id="6369515" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mediatek">MediaTek</keyword> Helio X20 with Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. 
 
When it comes to camera, the smartphone features a 13 MP rear camera and 5 MP front camera with an 85-degree wide angle lens. 
 
Additionally, the device sports an infrared sensor and is backed by a 4100 mAh battery.

Chinese smartphone maker, <keyword id="6357456" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Huawei">Huawei</keyword> has launched three new smartphones under its <keyword id="461983" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="honor">Honor</keyword> brand in India. The three new smartphones include Honor 8, Honor 8 Smart and <keyword id="15092" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Holly">Holly</keyword> 3. The newly announced Holly 3 is the first ‘Made In India’ smartphone from Huawei. The pricing of the phones starts from Rs. 9999 for Holly 3, Honor 8 smart is priced at Rs. 19,999 and Honor 8 is priced at Rs 29,999. The company’s first ‘Made in India’ phone, Honor Holly 3 is a 4G device running on a Kirin 620 CPU and is running on <keyword id="6355645" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="android">Android</keyword> 6.0 Marshmallow. The phone has 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage (expandable to 128GB). The primary camera on the phone is 13MP, while the front camera is 8MP – both with f/2.0 aperture. Briefly comparing the phone with iPhone 7 that comes with dual camera, Huawei launched its new flagship phone, Honor 8, the phone features same dual rear camera setup like Huawei P9, minus the Leica optics. Honor 8 features a dual 12MP rear camera setup (f/2.2 aperture) that comes with laser autofocus and dual-LED flash, and also has features like geo-tagging, touch focus, HDR and panorama. The selfie shooter on the phone is an 8MP with a f/2.4 aperture. The phone is the successor to Huawei’s Honor 7 that was launched in October last year. Honor 8 features a 5.2-inch Full HD display (1080 x 1920 pixels resolution), and is powered by the company’s octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor coupled with a Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. It’s a dual SIM phone and will be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow running Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 skin on top. 
 Honor 8 is backed by a 3000 mAh non-removable battery, and weighs 153 gms. The phone sports a USB Type-C 1.0 reversible connector and can charge to 47 per cent in 30 minutes using Smart Power 4.0. The phone is fitted with sensors like a fingerprint scanner, gyroscope, proximity sensor, compass and accelerometer. Huawei Honor 8 will be available from <keyword id="6354742" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Flipkart">Flipkart</keyword> and <keyword id="18635" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Amazon">Amazon</keyword>. 
 
Honor 8 has a variant that comes for lesser price, Honor 8 Smart, it has a metal unibody design and single rear camera. The smartphone has tweaked Antenna design like latest iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus with a screen to body ratio of 76.4 per cent. Honor 8 Smart has same 5.2-inch Full HD display like Honor 8 but gets 2GB RAM, 16GB storage and slower Kirin 650 processor under the hood. 
 
Honor 8 Smart sports a 13MP backside illuminated rear camera and an 8MP primary camera. The smartphone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery uses microUSB port for charging.

Ahead of festive season, Huawei launches three new smartphones including its first ‘Made in India’ smartphone

When Google had announced the details about the <keyword id="2373897" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Android-One">Android One</keyword> Program, honestly, we were a bit surprised to find <keyword id="145729" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Karbonn">Karbonn</keyword> and Spice also mentioned in the list. Karbonn has been in the Indian <keyword id="28168" type="TECHNOLOGY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Smartphone">smartphone</keyword> market for quite some time now. During the initial days, banking on sports and cricket, the company had got a good headway in the Indian market, but as more handset brands came along, Karbonn found it hard to maintain its ground. 
 
However, Karbonn has a very strong distribution network and now, as one of the first partner for the Andorid One Device, there is a lot riding on Karbonn Sparkle V (the V here is Roman number five). 
 
Design Karbonn Sparkle V is a budget offering but the same is not reflected in the design of the smartphone. It has a nice build quality and rubberised back finish. On the back panel you can see the Karbonn logo in the middle and the <keyword id="6355645" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="android">Android</keyword> One logo at the bottom. 
 
The power and the volume rocker button are placed on the right panel. Apart from that, there are no physical buttons on the front. 
 
On the downside, Karbonn Sparkle V does seem to have broad bezels, which most smartphones have done away with. 
 
It has 4.5 inches IPS LCD display with a resolution of 854 X 480 Pixels. Overall, the screen display looks nice with decent viewing angles. The one thing that is missing in terms of the display is the Gorilla Glass Protection that the Moto E offers but the new Android one devices don’t. 
 
Software/ Interface 
Frankly, we have so far spent only been with this newbie from Karbonn for half an hour but the interface looks really smooth. It looks like Google has spent quite a lot of time fine tuning its operating system to make sure that things can be as pleasant as it can get for a stock Android device. 
 
Apps such as moneycontrol, Keep, Olx, Saavn and Snapdeal come pre-loaded on the Karbonn Sparkle V. 
 
Processor and RAM Karbonn Sparkle V comes with a 1.3 GHz <keyword id="6369515" type="COMPANY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Mediatek">MediaTek</keyword> along with 1 GB of RAM and Mali 400 GPU. There is also 4GB of internal storage, which is expandable by up to 32GB via microSD card. 
 
Price: Rs 6,399. Also snapdeal is currently offering an 8 GB memory card free with this phone. Also the online retailer is giving Snapdeal coupons worth Rs 2,000 (which are valid up to two months). Along with this the buyers also get Free Recharge coupons Worth Rs 200 from FreeCharge (two codes worth Rs 100 each). 
 There is also an <keyword id="15491" type="COMPANY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Airtel">Airtel</keyword> data bundle offer through which user of all Android one devices including Karbonn Sparkle V will get free software upgrades and app downloads per month up to six months. Under this scheme, there is a fair usage cap of 200 MB. 
 
 
Camera 
All the devices in the Android One series come with a 2MP front camera and 5MP rear camera. Though we could not take the device out to do some serious photography but from the looks of it the rear camera can click some decent shots under good lightening conditions. 
However, to click any pictures, you first need to add a microSD card, which we think is a little absurd. The camera should be in a position to save shots on internal storage as well or at least ask the user for his/her preference in regards to storing pictures. 
 
So far, we are mighty impressed for what this Karbonn smartphone under the Android One umbrella has to offer but we do have our reservations about the battery life. For that and more, don’t forget to come and read our review that we will posting shortly.

Karbonn Sparkle V Hands On: A Pretty Good Start

It lost with smartphones, but it <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/the-inside-story-of-how-amazon-created-echo-2016-4" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">stumbled onto a hit</a> with the Amazon Echo speaker and its Alexa voice assistant.Now it's <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-echo-show-speaker-with-touchscreen-price-photos-2017-5" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">launching a different Echo</a> <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-look-camera-outfit-analysis-2017-4" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">every other week</a>, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-echo-success-could-spell-big-trouble-for-google-2017-1" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">stuffing Alexa into fridges</a>, and beefing up Alexa's compatibility with other Internet of Things devices you may plant around your house.But even with the Echo's success, there's still only one gadget that anchors every living room: the TV. Amazon already made a play for that with its Fire TV boxes and streaming sticks. But now it's baking the software from those devices - Alexa and Amazon Prime Video included - right into the TV itself.Amazon announced in January that it's partnering with three affordable TV brands - Element, Westinghouse, and Seiki, all owned by Chinese firm Tongfang Global - to do this, and on Tuesday it put the first line of these new TVs up for pre-order on its site, ahead of a full release in June.Those sets come from Element, and include four "Fire TV Edition" models in total: a 43-inch model that costs $449, a 50-inch model that costs $549, a 55-inch model that costs $649, and a 65-inch model that costs $899. All four are more or less identical on paper. There's <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/4k-tv-hdr-whats-the-difference-2016-8" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">no HDR support</a>, as you'd expect with TVs on the relatively affordable side of the spectrum, but all four do come with a sharp 4K resolution. Element says these will be available in Target and Meijer stores to start, with other retailers likely to follow later on.Jeff Dunn/Business InsiderI was able to get a brief tour of the new TVs earlier in the month. The short takeaway here is that Amazon is emulating what Roku does with its line of Roku TV partnerships. When you turn one of these new TVs on, you're greeted with an interface that's virtually identical to what you see with a Fire TV box.That means you get rows and rows of icons, most of which are used to get you into content you might like. I generally prefer Roku's approach, which focuses on getting you to apps more than the shows within them, but Amazon does make room for dedicated recommendations for apps like Netflix and HBO Now. (Though Amazon's own services, such as Prime Video, are hard to avoid if you're not a subscriber.)The UI is busier than Roku's simple grids, but it's not difficult to navigate. Plus, it looks nice. Most of the name apps are supported, too, though Google (and thus an official YouTube app) remains a big absentee.Some stray tidbits worth noting:<ul><li>Element is really stressing the performance of these TVs. Each model comes with a quad-core chipset, 3 GB of RAM, a Mali GPU, 802.11ac WiFi (i.e., the fastest), and 16 GB of storage, which is expandable. Amazon says this should make them a bit faster than its top-end Fire TV box, which goes for $89.</li><li>As someone who has sat through lagginess while clicking through the cheaper Roku TVs, I can appreciate that focus on performance. Comparable <a href="http://www.tclusa.com/products/home-theater/s-series" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Roku TVs from TCL</a> do undercut Amazon's TVs on price, however, and by a good amount, so you're paying for the apparent speed boost.</li><li>There's generally a good amount of ports on these things - four HDMI ports, an Ethernet jack, an optical out port, USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports, and so on. There's no headphone jack built into the remote, unlike some Roku devices, but you can hook up Bluetooth headphones for private listening.</li></ul>Jeff Dunn/Business InsiderNotice how the Fire TV OS bundles everything you last used together at the top of the main menu. Useful!<ul><li>As with the newer Fire TV boxes, Alexa support is baked in. You can access the assistant through a microphone button on the remote. This, in effect, is like having a bigger Echo Show: You can have Alexa say the weather, call an Uber, turn down a (compatible) thermostat, or do anything else you'd do with an Echo speaker. Little info cards will appear onscreen. Having the TV be the anchor of the smart home just makes sense. It's the centerpiece of the living room anyway, so putting Alexa in it feels natural.</li><li>The difference here is that Alexa can also do a few TV-specific things. You can tell it to change inputs ("Alexa, switch to PlayStation"), turn on different channels ("Alexa, go to NBC"), search for certain live TV shows ("Alexa, 'Judge Judy'"), and so on. That's on top of the usual requests with opening apps ("Alexa, open Hulu"), controlling playback ("Alexa, next episode"), and the like. How well Alexa will work within non-Amazon apps, though, is likely to remain hit or miss.</li><li>Amazon really played up the appeal for cord-cutters in my demo. Beyond the obvious - the TV has a media streamer built in - the company has also beefed up how watching live TV over an antenna works. You can pause it, for one, or use a USB stick or SD card to save up to 60 minutes of a show. You can also mark your favorite live channels, then make it so you only scroll through those.</li><li>You'll also see a row of icons for whatever's on those over-the-air networks in the main menu. This is nothing groundbreaking, but the way it's implemented helps it blur the lines between what's live and what's on-demand. That's a bit of a theme here.</li><li>If you happen to subscribe to HBO, Showtime, or any other network that streams live programming through <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201975120" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Amazon's Channels service</a>, that content will show up in the (slick-looking) channel grid alongside the live over-the-air content. That's neat. You can't hook up a cable box and have live channels from that input integrate into the guide, though, so it's not a full all-in-one solution.</li></ul>Element<ul><li>The remote is very similar to what you get with a Fire TV box. It's fine, if a bit abstract. It also has Roku-like app shortcuts on it: One for Prime Video, one for Amazon Music, and one for Netflix. (You can set Spotify as your default music app, too, for what it's worth.)</li><li>Neither the picture quality nor the build quality of the Element TVs really wowed me. You can't expect world-beaters at this price, and it should still be fine enough for most, but colors didn't really seem to pop in the half hour or so I spent with the new sets. My gut reaction is that most of the value here is in the streaming capabilities.</li></ul>Amazon is entering a crowded field. Aside from Roku TV's successes, Sony and Vizio have hitched up with Google's Android TV and Chromecast platforms, while Samsung and LG continue to use their own software.Of those, Amazon is mainly targeting Roku by partnering with lower-cost brands. Some Roku TVs come cheaper, though, so Amazon is banking on the strong internal tech, and, more notably, the more robust voice controls through Alexa to win out. It genuinely is easier to get around when you can tell your remote to do it for you.I'll have to test further before I can say whether that makes the Fire TVs worth the plunge, but at first blush there's plenty to like.
