I'm going to run through each quickly so you can neurotically clean your belongings like I've been doing.The first method is washing with extra-virgin olive oil and dish soap, which I saw from this YouTube video by Nicole Guerriero. I used Dawn because that's what I had opened, but any brand would work, and if it's antibacterial, that's better. I will be washing my liquid-foundation brush that I use every single day, so this one is pretty gunky. I'm also trying this with two of my eye-shadow brushes and a mini <keyword id="4152283" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="beauty-blender">beauty blender</keyword>. First you pour the dish soap and olive oil onto a plate. You wet your brushes, then swirl the brushes into the mixture. You swirl it on the palm of your hand, but I saved that part until I was by my sink to avoid a mess. I swirled each brush for a few seconds. Pretty easy. The eye-shadow brushes definitely had the most residue come off, and the <keyword id="6354629" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="beauty">beauty</keyword> blender was kind of annoying to grip. Then I rinsed them for a few minutes until all the soap was gone. I made sure I washed my brushes pointed down. If you wash the brushes pointed up towards the water, you risk getting water into the handle and loosening up the glue that keeps the bristles together. Dish soap, especially if antibacterial, helps get a lot of the product off. The extra-virgin olive oil can help break down the makeup and will also moisturize the bristles so they don't dry out. I did have to add more dish soap on my foundation brush and the beauty blender to get all the makeup off. Once the water ran clear, I placed them on a white paper towel to dry overnight.And there you go. Pretty clean. The bristles still felt the same as before. Not overly hydrated, but still very soft. There was a section of the beauty blender that was still a little dirty though, but maybe it's just time to replace that one.The second method is washing the brushes with white vinegar, hot water, and, again, dish soap, which I saw YouTuber Kayleigh Noelle recommend. I will be washing my bronzer brush, which is super thick and absorbs a lot of product. This brush always takes me the longest to wash. And, again, another eye-shadow brush and another mini beauty blender. You can use a glass jar or a regular glass cup like I did. You pour a cup of hot water, a tablespoon of dish soap, and a tablespoon of white vinegar. Then you dip your brushes into the mixture. That's a technique I've never tried before. Obviously, I didn't think of the buoyancy force of the water with the sponge, so I had to dip the beauty blenders so they could really soak up the water. But I instantly saw the water change color, and in just a few seconds, my brushes started to look a lot cleaner. White vinegar is a natural cleaning product and disinfectant. It can also be very strong, so it's important to dilute it. After 20 minutes, I rinsed it off, and, wow, was this a breeze! The makeup washed off so fast, which is great because I didn't have to use a lot of water. And, again, I placed them down flat on a white paper towel to dry overnight.And here they are, perfectly clean. I was concerned the brushes would still smell like vinegar, but once the brushes dried, the strong smell went away. Texture-wise, both this method and the one with olive oil left my brushes feeling the same. Next time I will probably use a wider cup or jar so I don't get the handle in the mixture.Another way to clean the brushes is with a gentle shampoo, like baby shampoo or castile soap. You're also going to need apple cider vinegar. I'll be washing my concealer brush with this method, my sister's bronzer brush, another eye-shadow brush, and another mini beauty blender. I used castile soap because I had that on hand. I poured a little bit on the brush and massaged it with my fingers. I lathered, rinsed, and repeated about four times for the larger brushes until the brushes were clean. This method requires a bit more work, but it's the technique that I'm most familiar with, so I didn't mind. Then, in a small bowl, pour 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and 2 tablespoons of water and swirl the brush in there to disinfect. Then rinse that off and let it dry.And voilà! The castile soap with apple cider vinegar really got the brushes super clean, and the soap really helped the brushes smell the best out of the three options.I'm happy to report that all of these methods do in fact work, so give them a try the next time you have to wash your makeup brushes. I used a bunch of the brushes when I applied makeup, and they felt good as new. The second method definitely takes the least amount of work when it comes to physically cleaning the brushes with your hands and saving some water, so that's a plus. And for that, the second method would have to be my favorite. This is a three-in-one product that cleans, dries, and reshapes your brushes back into their original form.The reshaping aspect is really what pushed me to try this brush spa out, because I have had so many brushes lose their shape over the years just from use and washing all the time. And a lot of them do have bristles knocked out of place. So I think if this actually works, I can totally see myself using it all the time.After trying it out, I'm gonna evaluate the Sigma Dry'n Shape Spa on how well it actually worked and if it actually restored my brushes to their original glory.You basically take this apart when washing the brushes. Like this. Oh. Oh, my God, how am I gonna get it back together? Why did I do that? Oh, there we go.Just like the Sigma Brush Cleaning Mat, each section is for a particular kind of brush, so we have eye brushes and face brushes. After you're done washing, you put your brushes in these slots to dry overnight. And these elastic thingies at the bottom are where the reshaping happens. So you actually slide the brush hairs into here, and it's supposed to form them back into their original shape. This is the wash face side.We're gonna start off with the bigger face brushes first. This brush already looks clean. I think we might be done.OK, let's move on to our next brush. My blush. This is a blush brush. My God, this looks like chocolate milk. That's so gross.Some of these brushes are really, really cheap, and I got them at, like, the drugstore. And I can see people being like, "Why not just replace the brushes that have the messed-up bristles?" I don't know, I just feel like they still work really well. It's just the shape that needs improvement. If the shape was just back to normal, I wouldn't throw it away.Since I tried the Sigma Brush Cleaning Mat in another video, I really liked it, I kept using it, and that's what I use to this day. The only thing the Sigma mat is missing is the reshaping part that this brush spa has. So I can see why people might wanna go for this one over the mat.That's two, OK. [gasps] Oh, my God, this is probably my favorite brush I have. This is so stupid. They're <keyword id="29496" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Makeup">makeup</keyword> brushes. I love this brush. The problem is that it is getting wider and wider, which isn't helpful when you're applying blush and you want it in a very, like, concentrated area. So if there's any brush that I want this thing to save, it's this one. I love this brush.All right, now we can move on to some eye-shadow brushes. So let's move on to the eye section right here. I forgot to mention this before, but the Dry'n Shape doesn't have any reshaping band section for smaller eye brushes like this. It's just for the bigger face brushes. That kind of sucks because, personally, my eye brushes are just some of the worst-looking brushes I own. Just so you know. It might affect your decision on whether or not you wanna buy it.People are gonna be like, "Why is your highlighter brush covered in black stuff?" I dipped it eye shadow to make it just, like, a little bit more dirty. You can see the dirt and grime more obviously than you can with a highlighter. My highlighter brush is finally clean.I also totally forgot, we have another brush to wash, and it's this one, my other highlighter brush. These two are very similar in shape and size. They both have bristles that definitely need some help. I am going to actually wash this one by hand and put this one in the brush spa so we can kind of have a little side-by-side comparison, see which one looks better in the end.So, let's start putting these brushes into the actual Dry'n Shape. The eye brushes actually go on the inside ring. So, these little tiny rings right here fit most eye brushes, I'm assuming. And then the outside rings are for bigger face brushes. Let's tuck these two in. That's weird. Let's just put them in. [laughs]OK, so here's how this process goes. So, I'm gonna pull open one of these little stretchy bands and, like, tuck the handle in? Oh, my God, how am I gonna do this? I, like, need two other hands. How did I...oh, oh, OK, I got it. Perfect, we're good. So, have my one brush in there, and then we're just gonna push down. Pull on this end, and you wanna pull until your brush head is completely inside of the shaping band. Just like that. That looks good to me.And the last brush I'm putting in is my blush brush. So let's put this one in... [gasps] am I running out of space? No, one of these medium-sized ones should be OK. All right. OK, all of my brushes are in the Dry'n Shape where they need to be, but I wanted to mention one thing. It seemed kind of weird to me that they wanted me to put my wet brushes into these elastic fabric bands. That just sounds like it would breed a lot of, like, bacteria or mold or something. But then I read this on their website.They responded to a comment asking the same question I'm asking right now, and it says, "The Dry'n Shape bands are made with a special, moisture-wicking, breathable elastic. With this material, the bristles dry quicker, and the band will not mold over time due to moisture." So in case you were worried about it, like I was, I think it'll be fine. I think. Now I'm gonna leave these brushes to dry overnight. I'm gonna leave the brush that I dried by hand to dry overnight, and we're gonna come back tomorrow and see if this thing actually is worth the money.It's the next day, which means my brushes should be dry in the Sigma Dry'n Shape Brush Spa. I'm really excited to see how it actually shaped these outside brushes. So let's get to...opening? Pulling out? Let's just take them out.These weren't actually reshaped. They were just stuck in here to dry. So, my eye brushes look really good. They look clean, they feel soft, and they actually smell good from that brush shampoo. But I wish there was a section to kind of reshape your eye brushes, not just your face brushes, because these do have a few bristles that are still, like, wonky and out of place. So that kind of sucks, but they look great. I'm happy with them.Now it's time for the good stuff. Now we actually get to see if these bands did anything to reshape my face brushes. Let's go for the big one. Let's go for my actual blush brush. [gasps] It's happening! There it is! [gasps] It actually looks exactly the same as when I first bought it. That's so weird! I know it's, like, gonna loosen up the more I use it, but that's crazy. When I put it in there, it was literally like, all the bristles were all over the place, so this looks really good.OK, let's do... my big brush right here. This one also looks really good. I see maybe one or two bristles that still kind of won't get back to where they belong, but it looks great.Ooh... [gasps] Oh, my God, look. It actually turned it back to its original size. I think this brush was widening, I guess, over time. Like, the bristles were just getting further and further apart because of how much I use it. I feel like all the bristles look back to being compact and right where they need to be, so that's good.I was kind of skeptical about how they were gonna dry in these bands, but they definitely all feel dry so far. OK, last brush. So, just by looking at it, I do see bristles sticking out just slightly right here, so it didn't reshape every single bristle. But it still looks really good.So now let's compare the brush that I left in the brush spa to the brush that I washed by hand and let air-dry and see if there are any differences between them. The one that didn't go into the reshaping band does have a lot more bristles sticking out in a bunch of odd places, and it definitely looks like it looks worn. It looks a bit haggard compared to this one. I feel like this one definitely looks like I could've just bought it today, whereas this one looks like I've been using it for a while, which I definitely have.Cleaning the brushes is also a part of the Sigma Dry'n Shape, so I'm gonna take each one of the brushes and swirl them on this paper towel to make sure that it actually got all of that makeup out of my brushes. This thing actually cleaned my brushes really well. I have been inspecting this paper towel for, like, five minutes now, just trying to find something. And I cannot see anything with my naked eyes. So I think it did a really good job of actually deep cleaning my brushes, which is great.So, is the Sigma Dry'n Shape Spa actually worth it? I think this product is very self-explanatory and easy to use. You don't need, like, a whole list of instructions for you to figure it out; it's super user-friendly. And on top of that, it did what it said it was gonna do. Like, it restored my brushes to how they used to look, and it made them look a lot better. They're cleaner. And they look ready for me to destroy all over again. Because this is a pricier product, I do feel like it's worth investing in if you have, like, higher-end brushes that you really wanna maintain, you wanna make sure that you extend the life of those brushes. But even for someone like me who has nothing but cheap brushes from the drugstore, this thing actually works. I used to despise cleaning my makeup brushes, but this $40 brush cleaner works in just 30 seconds

Kyle Kerchaert: Today, I'm testing out the <keyword id="3034509" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Fenty-Beauty">Fenty Beauty</keyword> dry-brush-cleaning sponge. The product claims to quickly remove different powder pigments so that you can switch between shades but use the same brushes. I'm gonna be rating the Fenty dry-brush-cleaning sponge on how well it works to remove pigment, how quickly it removes pigment, and how versatile it is in terms of the types of colors and finishes it can remove. I'm going to try my very best to recreate this beautiful rainbow eye look from Naomi Arnold that she created using the Jeffree Star Jawbreaker palette. The catch is, I'm gonna be doing this complicated look with just these brushes and using the sponge to switch between shades on one eye, but on the other eye not use a sponge at all and just really see if there's a difference. First step, take this white shade and buff it all over the lid to just accentuate the base. It doesn't really look like there's much on my brush, but just to make sure, I wanna get any of that white pigment off before I go into a bright color. And, yeah, definitely some stuff just came off. So there was hidden pigment on here that it's helping to clean off. The first color switch is happening. We're gonna go, bam, right into bubble gum. So, something I like to do after I lay a crease shade down, is go in with a clean brush and really buff out the edges. So I'm just gonna try to clean this and then buff it out and hope that the sponge gets this pigment off. It's already clean. That was maybe three seconds. Impressive. I really want these colors to be distinct from one another but still blended, because that's how Naomi's look looks. So I really hope that this sponge can, like, create that definition but blendability, if that makes sense. This is an important color distinction because I'm gonna be laying, like, this teal color on top of the purple. And green and purple could really mix and create this, like, brown mess, so I'm hoping that these are gonna blend nicely and really not muddy at this part. It's time to cut the crease. And cut crease is done. It's not perfect, but I am pretty proud of it, so we're all gonna pretend that it is really great. Now we have the green. This shade is definitely coming out patchy. I don't think it's anything to do with the brush or the sponge performance. I just think it's the shadow itself. I'm gonna take Jawbreaker and go right here. And that shade I just used was a shimmer, so I'm actually curious if the sponge will take off, like, a shimmer formula more than just color. 'Cause I'm gonna go from the shimmer back into a matte, and if I do that, I don't want the matte to suddenly be sparkly. I feel like the way to tell if it did is I'm just gonna, like, swatch it right here and see if I see glitter on my arm. Can you see that? Or, can see the lack of? It was, like, right there. Kyle: It's clean! Exactly. Going from a green to a red pigment now, which makes me very nervous. That could turn into, like, a muddy, poop, brown situation that we don't want on our rainbow eye. All right, I'm going from bright red into this white shade, so I don't want this turning into a baby pink. Please be clean, because this is, like, the final crucial step. Wow. I just decided, for funsies, I wanna put a shimmer in the corner, but that means that this red has got to go. Now, this is my inner corner, so if red pigment gets on my inner corner I'm gonna look like I have bloodshot, vampire, insomniac eyes. Which I do, but I don't want it to look like that. So, like, I don't know if you can see, ever so faintly, I'm getting red on my skin. So it's not completely taking that pigment off. OK, I gotta say, like, this sponge is very easy to use. Because I have used a similar product to this. There's something called the Color Switch. I believe it's, like, seven bucks on Amazon. And I've used it before, but it's, like, the big, circular, round thing. And when you really try to get your brush in there and, like, scrub off a color, the whole thing moves around, and it, like, you don't get as much traction and, like, friction against your brush to clean it. It becomes a little bit more difficult. But I think, like, the shape of this allows you to really just, like, freestyle it and go ham and, like, use pressure to get that color off, but it's staying steady, and it's cleaning. So, that's something I really like. OK. We are finished with look No. 1. I did this whole look using just three eye brushes and using the Fenty sponge. The sponge has been through a lot. It's compact in size, which is nice, but you probably are gonna have to clean it after every use. So, I'm gonna go in, recreate this look on this eye, just the brushes, no sponge. And we're gonna see what the final look looks like and if there's a noticeable difference. I finally finished, and I avoided most major disasters doing this look. So, pretty proud of myself. I definitely see some differences, so let's talk about them. So, pretty much in every major section of my eye, the crease, the outer corner, and the inner corner, I noticed just a much cleaner, defined eye using the sponge. There are three specific things I wanna point out. The first is, in the actual crease, where I blended the pink to the purple to the bluish teal, on the eye that I used the sponge, those colors just look much more distinct, and they're popping a little bit more. On the side that I didn't use the sponge, they all are kind of blended into one another. I just don't think they're as vibrant and distinct. The second area I'm noticing a huge issue in is in my outer corner crease, so, like, right here. Blending that green into the red, it just...it didn't work without having clean brushes. The last area that I really noticed a difference was when I was packing that inner corner lighter shimmer. I'd used the brush for a bunch of different bright colors before that, and I did get a little bit of red just, like, still lingering there. Overall, I think that the sponge did its job in removing pigments. There was just one color that was a really saturated red shade, and I was having some trouble fully getting that off. It's not the fastest tool to use. It's definitely gonna slow down your process. But it is a little bit easier to use than other similar sponges to it on the market, which I think makes it faster than them. The sponge also seemed to do a great job in removing bright pigments, white or more neutral pigments, and even glitters and shimmers. So, I think it pretty much works with whatever color you're gonna throw at it. Maybe just beware of those, like, super, super-pigmented reds and pinks. I can notice a huge difference in my eyes. "Baking soda and vinegar work so well as a cleaner due to their chemical makeup and reaction," says Wilkesmann. When the alkaline baking soda reacts with the acidic vinegar, it creates a safe, oxygenated gas that foams up and helps lift stains out of a carpet, according to Wilkesmann.<h3>How to use it</h3>1. Sprinkle baking soda on the stain. Be sure to cover it thoroughly.2. Pour a small amount of vinegar (about a tablespoon) on the baking soda. Add more little by little, just enough to make the baking soda fizz.3. Gently massage the solution into the carpet with a hard-bristle brush or something similar.4. Leave the solution on the stain for 4 to 6 hours or until the spot is completely dry.5. Vacuum up the baking soda residue.<h2>Best for steam cleaning</h2>According to Gurskyi, water with vinegar can be used to clean an entire carpet with a steam cleaner.Steam cleaners can be rented from hardware or grocery stores, or you can purchase one for permanent use. The key is knowing whether your carpet is made from synthetic or natural materials, since you'll need different ratios of vinegar and water. Natural fibers are more delicate, so you'll have to be more careful when cleaning them, says Gurskyi. For synthetic carpet, mix a solution using a ratio of one part vinegar to two parts water. For carpets made from wool or natural materials, use a one-to-one ratio of vinegar and water.If you're not sure whether the carpet is synthetic or natural materials like wool, flip it over and look at the bottom: most synthetic carpets are hard underneath, whereas wool carpets are soft on both sides.<h3>How to use it</h3>1. Mix the water and vinegar, using the appropriate ratio of one part vinegar and two parts water for synthetic carpets. For carpets made from natural materials, use one part vinegar and one part water. 2. Add the solution to the steam cleaner. 3. Clean the carpet, following the instructions on the machine. 4. Salt can help absorb liquid stains like spilled wine before they set. The granular property of salt also makes it easy to vacuum up the mess. For stains that are already set in, the granular salt also gives your scrubbing a bit of extra abrasion, which can help lift the stain quickly. Be sure you're applying this treatment either immediately after a spill. <h3>How to use it</h3>1. Blot the stain with a rag to remove most moisture.2. Sprinkle salt onto the stain, covering it thoroughly, and leave it for five minutes. 3. Pour a small amount of cold water onto the stain. 4. Scrub with a soft brush for one minute. 5. Rinse with a damp cloth and blot dry.Depending on the severity of the stain, you may need to use vinegar and baking soda to finish off cleaning the stain. <h2>Best for dark and patterned rugs</h2>While baking soda and vinegar are generally safe, they might leave a residue on dark-colored or patterned rugs. Because of that, Wilkesmann uses a spray of vinegar and liquid dishwashing detergent, Dawn dish soap, to spot-treat dark or patterned rugs.Because of the baking soda, this mixture is generally good for lifting stains without leaving residue. It works especially well for greasy stains, Wilkesmann says, since the dish detergent is designed to break down grease.<h3>How to use it</h3>1. Mix 1 cup of vinegar with 1 teaspoon of Dawn dish soap in a spray bottle. 2. Spray onto the stain, covering it thoroughly. 3. Leave for 15 minutes. 4. Scrub with a hard-bristle brush. This should clear the stain, with no need to rinse the carpet afterward, according to Wilkesmann.<h2>Best for deodorizing </h2>If you want to freshen your carpet or remove a musty smell in a hurry, stick to a dry cleaning solution. This isn't as effective at removing stains and bacteria, but you won't have to worry about drying time, according to Gurskyi.<h3>How to use it</h3>1. Sprinkle baking soda over the carpet, dusting the entire area. 2. Add fragrant dry spice, such as cinnamon or rosemary. Sprinkling the spice just like you did with the baking soda. Be sure to spot-test this to make sure the spice won't stain your carpet. 3. Let it sit for 30 minutes. 4. Vacuum the carpet thoroughly.<h2>How to soften a carpet after cleaning</h2>If you want to soften your carpet, Gurskyi says you can use a laundry fabric softener like Downy since carpets are made from the same basic fiber types as clothing. To make a carpet softener solution, mix half a cup of fabric softener, one gallon of hot water, one cup of clear vinegar, and one tablespoon of dishwashing detergent. Put the mixture into a spray bottle, and lightly spray the carpet until it's damp. The plan is taking shape after 19 Black families in the metro Atlanta area jointly <a href="https://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/group-black-families-purchase-500-acres-land-turn-into-bustling-new-farm-georgia/3OS5HJSTZBFWFBVE33YWGL4NGU/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">purchased</a> the sprawling property they hope to turn into a <a href="https://www.npr.org/2021/11/21/1057759740/outside-of-atlanta-black-families-are-buying-land-to-create-a-safe-haven" target="_blank" rel="noopener">new town called</a> Freedom. "We just met with the [Natural Resources Conservation Service] about some of the conservation practices we're approved for, and we are working on our overlay maps so we can do our planning," Swanson recently told Insider. Swanson plans to employ the same sustainability techniques he uses at his farm, including a low stocking-density strategy ("I only put the amount of animals on the land that can be sustained by the land," he explained), composting, relying on livestock in lieu of fertilizers to improve soil, and utilizing rotational, strip, and mob grazing systems.The blossoming town's environmental makeup and conservation practices will also involve protecting the area's watershed, regenerating soil, and brush clearing to plant an orchard. Eventually, as part of a 10-year plan, the town will include processing facilities, a distribution hub, retail operations, eateries, and homes."We want to use every acre of the land," Swanson said. "We want to use everything we can to build sustainable operations and not just put up houses."The project is one example of Black reformers joining forces to dismantle several decades of <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/lawsuit-put-pause-usda-effort-pay-off-black-farmers-loans-2021-6">systemic discrimination</a> that <a href="https://www.thenation.com/article/society/black-farmers-pigford-debt/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">barred Black</a> <keyword id="11897207" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="farmers" source="Orion">farmers</keyword> and landowners from receiving subsidies, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/black-farmers-racism-discrimination-usda-2021-3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">loans</a>, and other forms of governmental assistance. It's also a step toward redressing Black land loss over the past 100 years.<h2>The plight of Black farming and land ownership</h2>Harvard University's 2020 Land Loss and Reparations Project <a href="https://chlpi.org/news-and-events/news-and-commentary/food-law-and-policy/clinic-students-reflect-on-land-loss-wealth-and-reparations/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">estimated that</a> <keyword id="12522309" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="black-farmers" source="Orion">Black farmers</keyword> in the South lost 90% of their land in the last century, amounting to a loss of at least $250 billion to $350 billion of accumulated wealth and income. But, Swanson added, those numbers don't paint the whole picture. A significant portion of Black land loss, as well as maintenance, has been off the record since many Black landowners in the past didn't report the exact amount of property they owned to the government, fearing they'd be dispossessed. "We watched our neighbors, our cousins, our grandmothers, and grandfathers get their land taken," said Swanson, adding that his family has been able to maintain land since the 1800s. Much of the racism Black farmers face nowadays also takes place at agricultural processing facilities, Swanson said. "The people that run some of the processing centers are not always happy when they see us thrive," he added. Swanson said many facility workers have traded in overt racism for sneakier tactics. For example, they'll deliberately botch records of livestock sorting, grading, and packaging from Black-owned farms. "What they're doing is pushing you to ask questions," Swanson said. "The moment you go in and ask a question is when the argument starts. And then they'll say we're being entitled, arrogant, and boisterous."Swanson hopes that opening Black-owned processing facilities in Freedom will help eliminate the racial biases that Black farmers experience elsewhere. Additionally, he anticipates creating a community where social sustainability flourishes as Black professionals, leaders, neighbors, and organizations invest in one another. "We are now realizing that we've got to trust us," Swanson said. He also emphasized the importance of Black-owned farms throughout the US working with community organizations and small businesses to bolster local economies. "You don't want me supplying the whole East Coast or trying to take over the state of Georgia because that's just not sustainable," he said. "There should be a version of me regionally."<h2>Signs of progress in Black landowning</h2>The enriching cultural experience that comes with agricultural development in marginalized communities highlights the nuances of sustainability. While expanding eco-conscious practices is pivotal in the climate fight, it's merely a component in the greater pursuit of creating cleaner, safer, more equitable spaces, especially for communities of color."There is a renaissance right now for Black land ownership, like nothing I've ever seen in my lifetime," Swanson said. Now, he gets frequent phone calls from friends asking for insight on purchasing land — a promising sign that marginalized folks feel more empowered to trust one another, take the reins of proprietorship, and embrace the reclamation of US soil.
