The Mumbai-based automaker had dispatched 58,303 units in November 2022. Utility vehicle dispatches stood at 39,981 units last month, an increase of 32 per cent over 30,238 units in the year-ago period, <keyword id="45224" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mahindra" source="Orion">Mahindra</keyword> &amp; Mahindra (M&amp;M) said in a statement. Exports, however, declined 42 per cent last month to 1,816 units as compared to 3,122 units in November 2022. "We continue our growth trend, backed by strong demand for our SUV portfolio...While we saw a healthy festive season, we faced supply challenges on select parts during the month. We are keeping a close watch and taking appropriate steps to mitigate the challenges," M&amp;M President Automotive Division Veejay Nakra said. M&amp;M said its tractor wholesales stood at 32,074 units in November as compared to 30,528 units in the year-ago period. Exports, however, declined to 1,005 units last month from 1,348 units in November 2022. "The festive season saw high demand pull in the domestic market, supported by Kharif harvest realisations, with retails being strong during Dhanteras and Diwali," M&amp;M President-Farm Equipment Sector Hemant Sikka said. Terms of trade continue to be favourable for farmers, while rural spending by the government and progress in rabi sowing are the factors to watch out for, he added. Mahindra sales rise 21% to 70,576 units in November

However, Maruti Suzuki reaped in the festive season benefits and reported a 4.5% jump in October sales. Tata Motors November sales may fall 23% – Maruti and M&M may fare slightly better

New Delhi, Dec 1 () Auto major Mahindra and Mahindra (M&amp;M) on Sunday reported a 9 per cent decline in total sales in November at 41,235 units. 
 The company had sold 45,101 units in the corresponding month last year, M&amp;M said in a regulatory filing.
 In the domestic market, sales were down 7 per cent at 38,614 units last month as compared to 41,564 units in November 2018.
 Exports also declined 26 per cent to 2,621 units as against 3,537 units in the year-ago month.
 In the passenger vehicle segment, which includes utility vehicles, cars and vans, the company sold 14,637 units last month as compared to 16,188 units in the same month last year, down 10 per cent.
 In the commercial vehicle segment, the company sold 17,384 units in November as against 19,673 units in the same month a year ago, down 12 per cent.
 "The month post festive season is historically a lean month for the automotive industry. Consumer demand, especially for passenger vehicles, typically picks up in the year-end that is in December. Therefore, we expect December to pan out better for the automotive industry," M&amp;M Chief of Sales and Marketing, Automotive Division, Veejay Ram Nakra said. 
 Domestic sales in farm equipment segment in November stood at 20,414 units as against 25,159 units in the same month last year.
 Exports for the month stood at 618 units.
 Total tractor sales (domestic + exports) during November 2019 stood at 21,032 units as against 25,949 units in the same month last year.
 Commenting on the performance, Rajesh Jejurikar, President - Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra &amp; Mahindra Ltd said: "We have sold 20,414 tractors in the domestic market during November 2019. With government support on agri and rural sector and healthy reservoir levels due to the above normal monsoon, we expect a good Rabi output in the coming months". RR

Mahindra total sales down 9 pc at 41,235 units in Nov

New Delhi, Dec 2 () Shares of major automobile companies fell on Monday on the back of poor show in November sales data. Maruti Suzuki India stock fell 1.18 per cent to Rs 7,164.20 on the BSE and 1.31 per cent to Rs 7,151.20 on the NSE.
 Tata Motors was down marginally by 0.12 per cent to Rs 161.25 on the BSE and 0.05 per cent to Rs 161.45 on the NSE.
Mahindra &amp; Mahindra (M&amp;M) stock dropped 1.15 per cent to Rs 523.95 in early trade on the BSE. Later on, it recovered the losses to trade 0.21 per cent up at Rs 531.15. On the NSE, the stock was trading 0.01 per cent down at Rs 530.50.
 Bajaj Auto registered a decline of 0.54 per cent to Rs 3,158.95 on the BSE and 0.66 per cent to Rs 3,154 on the NSE. 
M&amp;M on Sunday reported nine per cent fall in total sales for November at 41,235 units. 
 The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India reported 1.9 per cent fall in sales at 1,50,630 units. 
 Tata Motors saw a slump of 25.32 per cent in total sales to 41,124 units. 
 Bajaj Auto on Monday reported a marginal 0.9 per cent fall in total sales at 4,03,223 units for the month. RUJ

Auto stocks fall on poor show in November sales data

<keyword id="6357120" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="PayTM">Paytm</keyword>, the e-commerce shopping website launched in 2010 and backed by the Alibaba group, had a happy Diwali in the festive season that went by. In the three-day pre-Diwali sale that Paytm held in the first week of November, it sold a good number of motorcycles and bicycles, even as mobile phones and fashion apparels topped the charts. This resulted in a figure of Rs 300 crore, highlighting the company's success in implementing the online-to-offline model. 
 
Talking of the model, the purchases are made online while deliveries are done from dealerships. The company sold 500 Mahindra motorcycles and more than 1,000 bicycles in the new products category. For online sale of Mahindra Centuro motorcycles and Mahindra Gusto scooters, Paytm had an exclusive tie-up with Mahindra Two Wheelers. What helped in realizing these numbers was competitive prices on bikes and up to 25% cashback on bicycles. 
 
For mobile phones, which are nowadays seeing high online sale figures, sales increased 5-6 times as compared to the average daily orders, and fashion products also saw a similar rise in the numbers. The online-to-offline model, which was used in selling bikes and bicycles was also implemented for selling mobile phones. One-fifth of mobiles sold in the sale period were delivered by local stores and that too within two hours of the order. For this, Paytm had entered into a contract with The Mobile Store, which is country's largest phone retail chain. 
 
Maximum sales were recorded in the electronics category, which helped the site see a fivefold increase in the number of orders and gross merchandise value (GMV) during the sale in comparison to the daily averages. GMV is the measurement of the maximum price of goods and services sold on a company's platform and is higher than its actual revenue. 
 
The company had set a target of Rs 250-300 crore for this sale, and saw 6-8 lakh concurrent users. This is 10-15 times the peak traffic that the website usually gets. The next target for the company is of Rs 1,000-crore, which it has planned to achieve in the two-month period, ending December.

Diwali proved happy for Paytm, generated Rs 300 crore in three days

New Delhi, Dec 10 () Domestic passenger vehicle sales slipped into negative territory once again in November after registering a slight recovery in the preceding month, as muted demand conditions forced companies to reduce their dispatches to dealers.
 According to data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), passenger vehicle (PV) sales declined 0.84 per cent to 2,63,773 units in November from 2,66,000 units in the year-ago period.
 The PV sales figure would have been much lower during the period under consideration, if it had not been aided by the utility vehicle segment, which saw despatches grow by 32.7 per cent to 92,739 units in November as compared with 69,884 units a year-ago.
 Domestic car sales were down 10.83 per cent to 1,60,306 units as against 1,79,783 units in the year-ago period while van sales were down 34.32 per cent to 10,728 units as compared to 16,333 in November 2018.
 "Challenges continue in the passenger vehicle segment. we have to remember that the current numbers are on a comparatively low base of last November," SIAM Director General Rajesh Menon told reporters here.
 New launches in the utility vehicle segment has helped prop up sales in October and November, he added.
 PV sales had risen marginally in October aided by positive festive season sentiment and introduction of new models in utility vehicle space, just about managing to snap 11 continuous months of decline in sales.
 However, vehicle sales across categories remained in the negative territory for over a year now.
 Menon said, sales in PV sector would in all probability continue in the slow lane during the remaining months of the ongoing fiscal.
 He added that SIAM was in talks with the government to introduce BS-VI fuel across the country from February itself in order to push the sales of BS-VI emission norms compliant models.
 As of now the government has kept April 1, 2020 as the date of introducing upgraded fuel across the country. The BS-VI fuel is available currently in only the NCR region.
 Total two-wheeler sales in November fell 14.27 per cent to 14,10,939 units compared to 16,45,783 units in the year-ago month. Motorcycle sales last month were down 14.87 per cent to 8,93,538 units as against 10,49,651 units a year earlier.
 Similarly, scooter sales last month declined 11.83 per cent to 4,59,851 units as compared with 5,21,542 units in November 2018.
 Commercial vehicle sales were down 14.98 per cent to 61,907 units in November, SIAM said.
 "It is worrisome that commercial vehicles and two wheelers sales continue to be in the negative zone. Commercial vehicle segment continue to suffer because of low demand in the infrastructure sector while two wheeler sales remain muted due to low demand in the rural areas," Menon said.
 In the PV segment, Maruti Suzuki India reported a 3.31 per cent decline in its November sales at 1,39,133 units. Hyundai Motor India witnessed a 2.04 per cent increase at 44,600 units, while Mahindra &amp; Mahindra reported a fall of 9.62 per cent to 14,633 units during the month.
 In the two-wheeler category, Hero MotoCorp posted a 15.81 per cent drop in sales at 5,05,994 units, while rival Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India saw sales decline by 5.32 per cent to 3,73,283 units.
 Similarly, Chennai-based TVS Motor Company saw its sales slump by 26.52 per cent to 1,91,222 units in November.
 In November, vehicle wholesales across categories registered a decline of 12.05 per cent to 17,92,415 units from 20,38,007 units in November 2018.
 On the other hand, November retail sales data showed a somewhat better picture in terms of sales, pointing to inventory correction taking place in the industry.
 Overall retail sales increased by 4.76 per cent to 22,13,519 units as compared with 21,12,876 units in the year-ago period.
 Similarly, PV retail sales stood at 3,13,061 units last month, as against 2,94,649 units in the same month last year, an increase of 6.25 per cent.

More than half of that money has gone into buying shares in the banking and financial services industry. The country’s insurance companies have received the lion’s share of the inflows. At the end of October 2018, foreign investors had a billion dollars invested in Indian insurance stocks. At the end of November 2019, the exposure stands at over $10.5 billion, according to a report from Edelweiss Alternative Research.  The foreign investors’ bet on Indian insurance companies seems to be the right decision. The business growth for insurance majors spiked in November 2019. Private players like Bajaj Allianz Life, Kotak Life, and Tata AIA Life clocked a 25.9% growth in insurance premium in November alone, according to a research report from Emkay Financial Services.  “The market is extremely positive about the insurance sector, because growth here has been extremely strong over the next 10-20 years. The amount of Indian insurance stocks foreign investors hold has grown ten-fold in just about a year

New Delhi, Jan 28 () Burger King India Ltd, quick service restaurant chain, has received markets regulator Sebi's go ahead to float its initial public offering (IPO).
 The company, which had filed its draft IPO papers with the markets watchdog in November, obtained its final observations on January 24 latest update with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) showed.
 The regulator's observations are necessary for any company to launch public issues such as initial public offer, follow-on public offer and rights issue.
 Going by the draft papers, Burger King's offer comprises fresh issue of equity shares aggregating up to Rs 400 crore and an offer for sale of up to 6 crore equity shares by QSR Asia, the promoter.
 Net proceeds from the fresh issue are proposed to be utilised for funding roll out of new company-owned Burger King Restaurants and general corporate purposes.
 The initial share-sale is being managed by Kotak Mahindra Capital Company, CLSA India Pvt Ltd, Edelweiss Financial Services and JM Financial. The company's shares are proposed to be listed on the BSE and the NSE.
 As of June 30, 2019, the company had 202 restaurants including seven sub-franchised Burger King Restaurants across 16 states and union territories and 47 cities across India, as per the DRHP.
 The company is one of the fastest growing international QSR chains in India during the first five years of operations based on number of restaurants. SP SHW
