The sale has been executed on the stock exchanges at a gross price of Rs 357.39 per share, it added. Mahindra group sells over 6% stake in Mahindra CIE Automotive

Ackman, who had urged the U.S. government to step in and protect all of the bank's depositors, praised the move but warned it was unlikely to prevent more financial institutions from collapsing, Daily Mail reported. "Had the @FDICgov @USTreasury and @federalreserve not intervened today, we would have had a 1930s bank run continuing first thing Monday causing enormous economic damage and hardship to millions," he wrote. "More banks will likely fail despite the intervention, but we now have a clear roadmap for how the gov't will manage them", he wrote. U.S. regulators said the failed bank's customers will have access to all their deposits starting on Monday morning - even those above the $250,000 federally-guaranteed limit. "Our gov't did the right thing. This was not a bailout in any form. The people who screwed up will bear the consequences. The investors who didn't adequately oversee their banks will be zeroed out and the bondholders will suffer a similar fate," Ackman stated, Daily Mail reported. Billionaire hedge fund manager investor Bill Ackman warns more banks will collapse

New Delhi, Feb 27 () Shares of Mahindra CIE Automotive on Thursday closed the session marginally lower reacting to the disappointing performance of the company in December quarter results. On the BSE, the stock traded in the red for the whole session but managed to go above its opening value only at the end of the market hours. It lost as much as 8.5 per cent to its 52-week low at Rs 129 in early trading hours. It settled at Rs 140.05, down 0.67 per cent over the previous close. On the NSE, the stock's opening value equalled its intra-day high while the trading session was in progress. During the day, the scrip touched its 52-week low at Rs 130, down 7.8 per cent. Finally, the stock closed 0.60 per cent lower at Rs 140.15.In terms of volume, the number of shares traded on the NSE was more than 4.3 lakh while it was just 26,000 on the BSE.This is the 10th consecutive session that the scrip has rested in the red zone. It has lost nearly 18 per cent since February 13, on the BSE.The company on Wednesday reported 91.1 per cent loss in consolidated profit after tax at Rs 12.61 crore for December quarter as compared to Rs 142.03 crore in the year-ago period.Revenue from operations for the said quarter stood at Rs 1,722.93 crore as against Rs 1,975.02 crore in the same period of previous fiscal. The <keyword id="6354977" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="supreme-court" source="Orion">Supreme Court</keyword> on Monday referred a batch of petitions seeking recognition of same-sex marriage to a <keyword id="6363843" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="constitution" source="Orion">constitution</keyword> bench, comprising five judges. The Centre, in an affidavit, contended that legal validation of same-sex marriage will cause "complete havoc" with the delicate balance of personal laws in the country and accepted societal values. Solicitor General <keyword id="243257" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="tushar-mehta" source="Orion">Tushar Mehta</keyword>, representing the Centre, stressed that legislative policy recognises marriage as a bond only between a biological man and a biological woman. The Centre contended that it is for <keyword id="6354721" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="parliament" source="Orion">Parliament</keyword> to decide whether same-sex marriage could be statutorily recognised. A bench comprising Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, justice P.S. Narasimha, and justice J.B. Pardiwala said it will invoke Article 145 (3) of the Constitution and have this matter decided by a constitution bench, comprising five judges. "It is a very seminal issue", said the bench, while fixing the matter for hearing on April 18. The central government has told the Supreme Court that living together as partners and having a sexual relationships by same-sex individuals, which is decriminalised now, is not comparable with the Indian family unit - a husband, a wife, and children born out of the union - while opposing pleas seeking recognition of same-sex marriage. It stressed that same-sex marriage is not in conformity with societal morality and Indian ethos. In an affidavit, the central government said the notion of marriage itself necessarily and inevitably presupposes a union between two persons of the opposite sex. This definition is socially, culturally, and legally ingrained into the very idea and concept of marriage and ought not to be disturbed or diluted by judicial interpretation, it added. The affidavit said the institution of marriage and the family are important social institutions in India that provide for the security, support and companionship of members of society and bear an important role in the rearing of children and their mental and psychological upbringing also. The Centre's response came on a batch of petitions challenging certain provisions of the Hindu Marriage Act, Foreign Marriage Act and the Special Marriage Act and other marriage laws as unconstitutional on the ground that they deny same-sex couples the right to marry or alternatively to read these provisions broadly so as to include same-sex marriage. Last day to bid for auto components maker Sansera Engineering IPO; grey market indicates ₹10 premium

Major Indian indices shaved off between 2-6.7 percent on Friday as traders pressed in heavy short sales once vote counting in the UK showed Britons has voted to exit the <keyword id="6355110" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="European-Union">European Union</keyword> by a slim majority. As a consequence, riskier assets fell off the cliff as safe haven buying was seen in Gold and Silver. 
 
Here is a snapshot of the futures market on the National Stock Exchange: The British Pound fell 10 percent against major currencies. Gold futures rocketed while crude oil futures dropped 6 percent. Major Asian indices were down 2.1-8 percent. 
 
To gauge the extent of sell-off there were no gainers on the 30-share Sensex, the 51-share Nifty and in the universe of 179 futures in the derivatives market.

The central government has approved eight <keyword id="44749" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Foreign-Direct-Investment">foreign direct investment</keyword> (<keyword id="44528" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="FDI">FDI</keyword>) proposals worth Rs 34.77 crore. “Based on the recommendations of <keyword id="62529" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Foreign-Investment-Promotion-Board">Foreign Investment Promotion Board</keyword> (<keyword id="6360345" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="FIPB">FIPB</keyword>)...government has approved eight proposals of foreign direct investment amounting to Rs.34.77 crore approximately,” revealed an official release. 
 
UK-based CSC Computer Sciences International Operations had asked for the government’s approval to set up a limited liability partnership (LLP) worth Rs 30 crore. Proposals of Mahanagar Gas Limited, Medicamen Biotech Ltd, TutorVista Global Private Ltd, Ventura (India) Pvt Ltd, Syssmart Services LLP and Mahindra CIE Automotive Ltd also the government’s clearance. 
 “In the FIPB meeting, a proposal relating to <keyword id="131506" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Lupin-Ltd">Lupin Ltd</keyword> was recommended for consideration of Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) as the investment involved was above Rs1,200 crore,” the release stated. Decision on as many as 12 proposals, including Syngene International Ltd, India Value Fund IV, SME <keyword id="6357264" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="capital-market">Capital Market</keyword> Corporation, SNC-Lavalin Mauritius Ltd and Verint Systems (India) Pvt Ltd, were put off.

8 FDI Proposals Worth Rs 35 Crore Gets Govt’s Nod

Stocks <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Bloodbath-in-the-Indian-markets-as-Brexit-causes-panic/articleshow/52895611.cms">suffered massively </a>on Friday as the UK voted to exit the European Union stoking widespread selling in the British Pound, Asian and European equities. Gold Futures <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Britains-relations-with-EU/articleshow/52897467.cms">surged </a>to two-year highs on safe haven buying and the referendum claimed its first political victim: UK's Prime Minister said he would <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/CAMERON-TO-RESIGN/articleshow/52898635.cms">resign</a>. 
 
Britain's David Cameron favoured staying back in the economic block and the shock reaction saw major European indices dropping as much as 11 percent. Falls to the extent of 3-7 percent were seen in Asian indices. <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Market-opener/articleshow/52895333.cms">Indian markets </a>plunged at the start with the <keyword id="6354813" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="nifty">Nifty</keyword> dropping more than 5 percent. At one stage there wasn't a single gainer in the Nifty 51, the <keyword id="6484188" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sensex">Sensex</keyword> 30 and the universe of 178 futures in the derivatives market. However, short covering and buying at lower levels saw relatively lesser losses on these benchmarks.

Some European indices bounced back sharply. The FTSE 100 was down 10 percent at start and later traded just 4.5 percent lower. Similar rebounds were seen across other major benchmarks. Some investors are pricing in a depreciated Pound boosting UK's exports and giving a fillip to British goods as they would be relatively cheaper compared with their European rivals.

Locally, some traders took advantage of the dip and bought heavily into strong private sector lenders such as IndusInd Bank and Yes Bank. Gold traded at 31,222 rupees for a 10 gm lot, its highest since June 2014. 
 
Meanwhile, the Nifty closed with losses of 189 points at 8,081 points. It recovered from an intra-day low of 7,928 points. Stocks that fell included Larsen &amp; Toubro, Maruti and Yes Bank. They dropped between 2.2-7.1 percent. Sun Pharma added 0.5 percent on the Nifty on news of a buy back of shares at 950 rupees each. Bajaj Auto, Mahindra &amp; Mahindra and GAIL rose modestly as well. 
 
Tata Motors, State Bank and ICICI Bank took the first three slots of the list of top traded stocks by value. All three shares lost ground. Reliance Communications was present on the list of most active securities. 
 
The Nifty 100, 200 and 500 indices plunged sharply in early deals, in line with the overall market, but recouped a large part of their losses. They ended with a red tick of nearly 2 percent each. 
 
Major sectoral indices dropped between 1.3-3.8 percent at close. 
 
The Sensex ended 604 points down at 26,398 points on the Bombay Stock Exchange, bouncing off a low of 25,920. Tata Motors, Maruti and Sun Pharma were the top traded shares on the index. Bajaj Auto was the top gainer along with GAIL and Asian Paints. The remaining 27 stocks ended lower, among them ONGC, Axis Bank and TCS. 
 
Overall, the Sensex and the Nifty recovered about 2 percent from intra-day lows while the bounce was sharper on the Bank Nifty, which rose about 3 percent from its lowest point of the day. 
 
Overall, the bears may have retained control of Dalal Street but the story of the day is the sharp recovery in major indices from intra-day lows. Even though the Advance-Decline Ratio in the wider stood at 1/4, its far better than the 1/12 in morning trade. 
 
Auto ancillary stocks figured on the on the list of volume buzzers on the National Stock Exchange. Hence, Omax Autos, Alicon Castalloys and Mahindra CIE Automotive saw heavy volumes. 
 
Gold jewellery seller Titan Company was among the very few stocks hit fresh highs in the first half hour of trade on the National Stock Exchange.
