Walking, cycling and even skating! Covering long distances amid bone-chilling cold, people from all over the country and cutting across religions are flocking to the temple town of <keyword id="19897034" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ayodhya" source="keywords">Ayodhya</keyword> ahead of the consecration ceremony on January 22. Driven by their faith in Lord Ram and carried through by the overwhelming religious mood in the country, they say they desire to be a part of the historic day and want to send out a message of love and unity. Nitish Kumar, a resident of Bihar's Madhepura district, has cycled more than 600 km to reach Ayodhya. "It took me seven days to cover 615 km from Bihar to Ayodhya. I have reached today. I was carrying a sleeping bag and some essentials with me on my cycle only to help me take some breaks on the way. I had decided to do this when the Supreme Court verdict came, I was still in school then," the 21-year-old told PTI. "I will come next time with my family. We are a strong believer in Lord Ram. They will also be celebrating on January 22 but I wanted to be part of this historic day in Ayodhya," he added. Kumar has adorned his bicycle with four flags -- a tricolour and three saffron flags bearing pictures and a 'Jai Shri Ram' message. Soni Chaurasia, a Guinness Book record holder for the "longest dance marathon" (124 hours), is among the invitees for the consecration ceremony and is skating her way to Ayodhya from Varanasi. "I left Varanasi on January 17 and will reach on January 22. I have skated this long before too but the weather right now is a challenge. The entire journey is 228 km. I am being accompanied by my coach and doctor who will follow me on a motorbike," Chaurasia told PTI. Himanshu Soni, who is just 10 years old, set out for Ayodhya on skates from Rajasthan's Kotputhli on January 16 aiming to cover a distance of 704 km. "My family is a believer in Lord Ram and when we looked around, the atmosphere is no less than Diwali right now. I wanted to be in Ayodhya on the day of the consecration ceremony and what better way to reach there other than pursuing my talent," Soni said. Aiming to spread the message of Hindu-Muslim unity, Shabnam Shaikh is walking from Mumbai to Ayodhya. "The total journey is over 1,400 km. I walk around 60 km a day and take multiple breaks. Being a girl, it is an obvious concern to look for a safe space to take breaks during the journey but wherever I am going I am being welcomed by people," she said. Dressed as Mahatma Gandhi with round spectacles and a stick in his hand, Muttna Tirlapura, a resident of Karakitti in Karnataka, has marched over 2000 km on foot to reach Ayodhya. "Gandhiji used to take 'Ram naam' daily. Who other than him to spread the message of Lord Ram! I am going places to spread this message only," said Tirlapura, who refers to himself as 'adhunik Gandhi' (Modern Gandhi). Omesh Bhagat (47) who refers to himself as "Buddha Uncle" is on an all-India cycling tour with a message to save the environment. With a solar panel installed on the backseat of his cycle, Bhagat has cycled over 13,000 km since May and has now reached Ayodhya. "The religious mood that we see in the country is overwhelming. Have never seen this before. But there is also a message that though Ayodhya will see an economic boom now, we should not forget that we need to preserve the environment here," he said. Naresh Gupta, a 36-year-old farmer from Kharsia in Chattisgarh walked barefoot for nearly 700 km to reach Ayodhya. "It took me two months to reach here. I used to take several breaks. It was a memorable journey and I was determined to complete it. At times, the weather made it difficult to walk barefoot but I managed," Gupta told PTI. Jaswinder Singh Lucky and his son, who are from Uttarakhand, are cycling to Ayodhya from the hill town. They will reach the holy city on January 20. "The message we want to send out is of communal harmony. We are Sikhs and we believe in Lord Ram too," he said. Similarly, Nitin Bhatia, a Sikh from Batala in Punjab, is cycling over 1,100 km to reach Ayodhya on the same day as Lucky and his son. The first phase of the temple is nearing completion and Prime Minister <keyword id="19895781" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="narendra-modi" source="keywords">Narendra Modi</keyword> will take part in its consecration ceremony on January 22. The Supreme Court delivered a historic verdict in 2019, settling a temple-mosque dispute that dated back more than a century. The court backed the construction of a Ram temple at the disputed site and ruled that an alternative five-acre plot must be found for building a mosque.

India is set to host the coveted G20 leaders’ summit in New Delhi on September 9 and 10, 2023. The event will have world leaders like US President Joe Biden in attendance and as a result, to enhance security measures in the capital, a number of restrictions have been announced by the government which will make daily commute a hassle starting September 7 when the guests start arriving. Here is what the residents of the National Capital Region (NCR) will have to keep in mind: Commercial vehicles: All types of goods vehicles, commercial vehicles, interstate buses and local city buses such as Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses and Delhi Integrated Multi Modal Transit System (DIMTS) buses shall not operate on Mathura Road (beyond Ashram Chowk), Bhairon Road, Purana Quila Road and inside Pragati Maidan Tunnel from 00:00 hours on the intervening night of September 7 to September 10 midnight. Goods vehicles: Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), Medium Goods Vehicles (MGVs) and Light Goods Vehicles (LGVs) will not be allowed to enter into Delhi from 21:00 hours on September 7 to September 10. However, goods vehicles carrying Essential Commodities such as milk, vegetables, fruits, medical supplies, etc., having valid ‘No Entry Permissions’ will be permitted. For the entire New Delhi district: The entire area of New Delhi District will be considered as “Controlled Zone-I '' from 05:00 AM, September 8 to September 10 midnight. However, movement of following categories of vehicles shall be exempted from the above restrictions: - i) All types of commercial vehicles including buses which are already present in Delhi shall be allowed to move on Ring Road &amp; road network beyond Ring Road towards the borders of Delhi. ii) Taxis carrying bonafide residents and tourists having valid bookings in hotels located inside New Delhi District, and intending to go to New Delhi Railway Station will be allowed to ply on the road network inside New Delhi District. iii) General traffic, except goods vehicles and buses, will be allowed into Delhi from Rajokari Border. Compulsory diversion: Further, the above mentioned traffic will be compulsorily diverted from NH-48 to Rao Tula Ram Marg – Olof Palme Marg. No vehicular movement will be allowed on NH-48 towards Dhaula Kuan. Defence and emergency vehicles: Vehicles of Armed Forces, Paramilitary Forces, Police, Disaster Management, Fire tenders, Ambulance and those engaged in emergency services like road maintenance, maintenance of electric supply, water/sewage line, communication network, etc. will be allowed to move throughout Delhi. The existing prohibition as notified from time to time for different categories of vehicles shall also prevail.

Ahmedabad, Jan 15 () Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday hit out at the Congress and other opposition parties for spreading negativity on jobs and economy fronts, saying those who did nothing in 60 years of their rule are now questioning the Modi government. 
Addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone of the Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) here, the minister said the government's target to make India a USD 5 trillion economy was achievable and the youth's inclination towards entrepreneurship may play a big role in achieving the objective. 
Shah said the Congress could only manage to take the country's economy to a USD 2 trillion mark despite ruling for decades, but the NDA government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership took it to USD 3 trillion in just 5 years time. 
Taking a dig at the Congress, he said those who did nothing to steer the country's economy in 60 years were now questioning the present government. 
He said the government is taking necessary steps to ensure that youth get the required skills and employment opportunities and are future ready. 
On the Opposition being raising the issue of unemployment, he said there are some who view things through a negative prism. 
"When they talk about unemployment, a question always comes to my mind, you have ruled this country for 50-60 years, what measures did you take," Shah asked referring to different Congress-led governments that were in power at the Centre since Independence. 
 He further asked was there any new solution found during 50-60 years of Congress' rule to provide employment to the country's youth. 
 Is it justifiable that "you (Congress) ruled for 50 years without doing anything new and now you are seeking answers from us", he said. 
 The senior BJP leader said that the government has been taking several initiatives to skill the youth, saying that the young population is a major strength of the country. 
"Some may view this as a weakness, but I think 70 crore young population is a major strength," the minister said. 
 He said the Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) will not only help skill India's youth but will also make them job creators instead of job-seekers. 
 On this occasion, Industrialist Ratan Tata, whose group is partnering the government in setting up the institute, said many visionary initiatives were being taken up by the present regime. 
 "I wish I was 20 years younger so that I could contribute more," Tata said. 
 Union Minister for Skill Development Mahendra Nath Pandey said before Narendra Modi became prime minister, the country had seen politics of opportunism barring a small period of ruling under the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government. 
Pandey also emphasised on skill development and said it ranged from areas from defence to artificial intelligence now. 
 The 20-acre Indian Institute of Skills is among the three institutes that the government is setting up.
 The government has chosen Kanpur, Mumbai and Gandhinagar to set up Indian Institutes of Skills. 
 The foundation stone for IIS, Kanpur was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at NSTI, Kanpur in December, 2016. The foundation stone for the institute in Mumbai was laid last year. 
 The proposed institutes are to be modelled on Singapore's ITES. Shah laid the foundation stone of the Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) at Nasmed in Kalol tehsil of Gandhinagar through remote control at a ceremony at the Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. 
 The IIS Gandhinagar and Mumbai are being set up in partnership with the Tata Education and Development Trust. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran were also present on this occasion. 
 Shah suggested linking of the Indian Institute of Skills, Gandhinagar with around 272 industrial training institutes in the state towards upgradation of ITIs, a suggestion which was accepted by Ratan Tata. RSN MKJ
