sleek design and comes with an aluminium unibody design, giving it a sturdy and premium feel. The tablet measures 7.52mm and weighs 568 grams. The tablet comes in two colour options - Quick Silver and Graphite Grey. I got the Graphite Grey colour variant, which comes with a dual-tone matte finish. The area around the rear camera setup has a long strip in a darker tone, while the rest of the back features a lighter tone. <div type="image" title="Back" msid="114583789" hostid="261" sizebytes="52882" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Redmi Pad Pro 5G rear design&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The tablet comes with a minimalistic design, featuring two circular modules at the back – one for the camera and one for the LED. It comes with Redmi branding at the bottom. Apart from this, there’s nothing at the back. Thanks to its metallic body, you don’t have to worry about fingerprint smudges. The volume rockers have been placed considering that the tablet will be used vertically and horizontally. The volume rockers are on the right when held vertically and on the top when used horizontally. <div type="image" title="Top" msid="114584038" hostid="261" sizebytes="25798" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Power button and speakers&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The power button is on the top when held vertically and on the left side when held horizontally. I had no issues using the volume rockers and the power button. The SIM tray has been placed on the right side, along with two microphones. The tablet is equipped with quad speakers – two at the top and two at the bottom. It offers up to 600 nits brightness. <div type="image" title="Display" msid="114583969" hostid="261" sizebytes="43918" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Redmi Pad Pro display&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> While an AMOLED display would have offered better colours and contrast, the Redmi Pad Pro 5G’s display is bright and offers vibrant visuals. It works well both indoors and outdoors, so you won’t have to worry about using it in sunlight. The tablet’s high resolution and refresh make it an excellent option for watching your favourite movies and shows, gaming and more. <h2>Redmi Pad Pro 5G software and performance</h2>The Redmi Pad Pro 5G runs on Android 14 out of the box, with the company’s HyperOS on top. For those unaware, Xiaomi has replaced MIUI, the company’s custom skin with HyperOS. The tablet will get two years of Android updates and three years of security updates. The tablet comes with a host of connectivity features, including the Smartphone Link feature that allows you to transfer data from your Xiaomi smartphone and tablet easily. In addition to this, you also get a shared clipboard feature, which allows you to copy text and images from your smartphone and paste them onto your tablet. In terms of performance, the tablet is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset. It is available in two variants – 8GB RAM with 128GB of internal storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB of internal storage. I tested the 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage variant. This is a mid-range chipset that offers decent performance and is enough to get you through your day-to-day activities. While it is not the most powerful chipset, I did not notice any stuttering or lags while gaming at default settings. The device does get slightly warm after an extended gaming session. The Redmi Pad Pro 5G comes with a huge 10,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The battery on the tablet is good, offering two days of battery life with some gaming and steaming. Another important feature of the tablet is that it supports 5G connectivity, which is great to have, especially for data connectivity. <h2>Redmi Pad Pro 5G camera</h2>It features an 8MP primary camera with 4K recording support and comes with an 8MP selfie camera with 1080p video recording support. For FY23, net profit grew 34.5% to ₹6,549 crore from ₹4,870 crore in FY22, thanks to higher volumes and cooling inflation. M&amp;M’s standalone revenue in Q4 grew 31% YoY to ₹22,571 crore, beating analyst estimates of ₹21,899 crore. For FY23, its revenue grew 47% to ₹84,960 crore. “Operational profits improved significantly, as a result of volume growth, timely pricing actions, easing commodity inflation and stringent control over fixed costs,” the company said in its exchange filing. However, the lower share of farm equipment in total volumes during FY23 resulted in a decline in net margins, which fell to 7.7% from 8.4% in FY22. "It has been a blockbuster year for the group. Auto led the way with record-breaking launches, as we regained the #1 position for SUV revenue market share. Overall, M&amp;M’s total volumes surged 35% in FY23 to 1.1 million units, from 8.17 lakh units in FY22. Driving the growth in the automotive segment were “successful mega launches”, the company said in a post-earnings press conference. M&amp;M also expanded its dominance in the sports utility vehicle (SUV) segment, increasing its revenue market share by 170 basis points YoY to 19.6%. Hyundai, which entered the Indian market in 1996 is one of the top automakers in India, moving between the second and third spots. The company emerged as the second biggest automaker in Hyundai. Since it entered the Indian market, the company has sold over 80 lakh cars in the country. Hyundai intends to establish India as a global manufacturing and export hub for the company and this might be an initial step in this direction. KFin Technologies is the registrar for the public issue and advisors for the issue include Kotak Investment Banking, Citi, HSBC, JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley. <h2>India’s biggest IPO</h2>Hyundai India is looking to raise ₹27,870 crore from the IPO, significantly higher than the ₹21,008 crore raised by the state-owned Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) in 2022, making it the biggest IPO in India’s history. <div type="Article" hostid="261" msid="111690863" title="The biggest IPOs in India’s history – LIC to Paytm, companies that have raised the most funds" mstype="2" mssubtype="0"></div> <h2>About the IPO</h2>The upcoming IPO from Hyundai is entirely an offer for sale (OFS), with the company looking to offload up to 17.5% of shares, which is 14.22 crore shares with a price band of ₹1865 to ₹1,960 per share. Bids can be made in a lot size of 7 shares or multiples of 7 shares. The IPO opens on October 15 and will close on October 18. While the allotment will be finalised on October 18, the shares will be listed on the stock exchange on October 22. At the upper end of the price band, Hyundai Motor India will be valued at $18 billion (approx. ₹1.6 lakh crore), which is around 40% of its parent company, Hyundai Global’s $45 billion valuation. As it is entirely an OFS, the company won’t receive any funds and all the funds raised will go to Hyundai Global. However, the company has said that part of the funds will be allocated towards research and development, especially in electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid technologies. The company has reserved 7.78 lakh shares with a value of ₹131 to ₹138 crore for employees. Employees will get these shares at a discount of ₹186 per share. <h2>First carmaker in over two decades to go public</h2>In addition to being the biggest IPO in the country’s history, this will also make the company the first car maker to go public in India in over two decades. IFC's first investment in an EV manufacturer in the country, and the first in electric three-wheelers globally, will be in the form of compulsory convertible instruments at a valuation of up to Rs 6,020 crore. The Rs 600 crore investment will result in an ownership of between 9.97 per cent to 13.64 per cent for IFC in NewCo. NewCo will house the last mile mobility division, including three wheelers (Alfa, Treo, Zor) and four-wheeler SCV (Jeeto). "With the electrification of the last mile mobility business at scale, we will move a step further in our commitment to be aPlanet Positive' by 2040. This also presents a tremendous opportunity for growth for micro and women entrepreneurs," said Anish Shah, MD and CEO, Mahindra &amp; Mahindra. India has committed to reducing its emissions profile by 45 per cent by 2030, and simultaneously aims to achieve 80 per cent EV penetration for two-and three-wheelers, 70 per cent for commercial vehicles and 30 per cent for private cars in the same time-frame. "India is the largest three-wheeler market globally, and this investment marks a significant step towards scaled domestic production of electric vehicles catering to this segment, as well as small commercial vehicles," said Hector Gomez Ang, IFC's Regional Director for South Asia. It was an easy decision: Apple's iPhone excelled at all the phone jobs I needed, from good pictures to running dozens of apps to lasting a busy workday.The $999 iPhone X I bought also felt groundbreaking at the time: The nearly edge-to-edge screen was a joy to use, and Face ID made it easy to log in and authenticate digital payments.In the years since, my screen time has shot up. I do everything on my phone: reading books, catching up on TV shows, doing the daily crossword. I was spending more time on my handheld than on my computer. And it was all giving me a headache, possibly worsening my myopia. The iPhone's screen size was too limiting for the smartphone's evolving role in my life.<h2 id="e5ecc015-7fe8-4ef1-85c5-0dcb4b8d8783">Apple upgrades were uninspiring </h2>My iPhone's cameras and performance improved with upgrades. I appreciate the iPhone 13's better photography system and the iPhone 15's universal USB-C port. But the model I own today is fundamentally the same device I used years ago. While it is the slimmest foldable, it's still slightly more cumbersome than a typical smartphone for most users and their pockets. But since it replaces three devices, I've found the effort worth the trouble. As someone who struggled to justify carrying multiple screens for different purposes, I recommend consolidating them into one.
