Mumbai, Apr 16 () Bollywood actor Salman Khan used his star power to express anguish and disappointment at people flouting lockdown rules and pelting stones at healthcare workers as the country grapples with the coronavirus pandemic.The "Bharat" star, who is currently at his Panvel farmhouse, urged everyone to abide by the guidelines laid down by the government to contain the spread of the deadly virus and praise the efforts by all those working on the frontlines.Channelling his "Bigg Boss" host persona, Salman began the 10 minute-long video talking about his life under lockdown."'Bigg Boss' is not starting, this is life's 'Bigg Boss' going on. There are some people who are violating (the lockdown). I had come here for a two-day holiday but corona has sent everyone on a 'holiday'," he said in the Instagram video shared on Wednesday."First we thought it was just a flu. It will all get over in a few days and everyone will be back home. But when lockdown happened, it became all serious," he said.He is currently at his farmhouse with his mother Salma, sisters Alvira Agnihotri and Arpita Khan Sharma, brother-in-law, actor Aayush Sharma, nephew Ahil and few friends.Sharing an incident about the callous behaviour by one of his friends, who had gone out to get vegetables from a nearby village, Salman said, "Police are there all around and they are doing a good job. He (friend) had the pass. When the police stopped him on the street, he took off the mask to speak with the policemen, who in turn told him to put it back."He understood he shouldn't have done it. He came back and narrated this story to us. When he got back home, I told him that taking off the mask was a stupidity," the actor added.The intention behind narrating this story, the 54-year-old star said, was to make people aware about how they are putting their families and everyone else at risk by not following the lockdown rules."In any disease to get the result positive is a very sad thing, especially for a disease that has no cure and such a person losing hope is not good. And to not understand the sadness of those who have tested positive is anti-human."The positive tested patients have understood that it is their mistake and those who are negative at the moment are not taking things seriously will soon turn positive as well. And they will then spread the disease to the family, to the locality, to the city and then to the entire India," Salman said.The actor said the government has asked everyone to stay at home and not do social gatherings and rather spend time with family."Do your prayers at home. We had learnt in our childhood that God resides within us. Everyone has to die someday, but do you want to actually die? Do you want to put the country at risk, starting with your own family?"And you have to think whether you want to support the police, doctors and those working in the banks or not."He further said if everyone would have followed the guidelines properly, the lockdown would have been lifted."If you wouldn't have gone out in groups or with friends, then police wouldn't have hit you. They don't enjoy it. No one has stopped you from going to buy essentials, but wear masks and gloves. The government has assured that all the essential items will be available," the actor asserted.Hailing the efforts of the frontliners such as the healthcare workers and police force, Salman said, "Do you think doctors, nurses, policemen, those working in banks are immune to coronavirus? They are still working 18 hours and are doing this for you, not to stop you, but to stop coronavirus because the disease does not see class, economic standing or age. Police is doing their duty, but you are not doing your duty to stay at home.""You are throwing stones at doctors, nurses who are saving your life," he said in a reference to incidents of doctors and health workers being attacked across the country."And those who are coronavirus positive are running away from the hospitals. COVID-19: Salman Khan upset at people breaking lockdown rules, attacks on healthcare workers

<ul><li>The <keyword id="6354731" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="state-bank-of-india">State Bank of India</keyword> (SBI) had earlier announced a three-month relaxation suspending all service charges and limitations on ATM withdrawals. </li><li>The relaxations expire on June 30, and no extension has been announced. </li><li>Old ATM withdrawal rules are likely to get reinstated making transactions more expensive. </li></ul>The State Bank of India (SBI) is going back to its original ATM withdrawal limits and rules. The three-month relaxation of no service charges rolled out during the coronavirus lockdown comes to an end on July 1. The changes were brought in by the SBI after the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced on March 24 that no charges will be levied on cash withdrawal made from any other bank’s ATMs for 3 months — April, May, and June — for bank customers. Till now, the SBI has not announced an extension, which means the old ATM withdrawal rules are likely to get reinstated. Withdrawals made from SBI ATMs and other bank ATMs exceeding the free limit of transactions will be charged. New Delhi, July 15 (IANSlife) Jacqueline Fernandez who is a youth icon and inspiration to modern-day women is excited about resuming work in the weeks to come stating, "work is set to resume now and I am quite excited about the same. TV shoots have already started and the film industry will also get going shortly. We have all learnt to inculcate good personal hygiene practices into our daily lives during the pandemic and have understood the safety protocols. Only those who are absolutely needed will be allowed on the sets going forward and safety and hygiene will be top priority." Fernandez has to finish working on her upcoming films 'Attack' with John Abraham and 'Kick 2' with Salman Khan. However, in light of the pandemic most conversations turn to the topics of hygiene, wellness and home sheltering; Fernandez leverages her popularity to voice the importance of maintaining high sanitization and hygiene standards, amongst her fan following which includes more than 42 million followers on social media platforms alone. The 'Race 3' heroine recently signed up as brand ambassador for the Raho Safe range by Pee Safe, one of India's leading youth hygiene brands to talk about movies, lockdown and hygiene. Read Excerpts: Q: In India where both men and especially women in a majority of rural areas do not have access to toilets; how can hygiene standards be implemented in these areas especially in the wake of a pandemic like Covid-19? Fernandez: While the Covid-19 pandemic has catapulted the importance of personal hygiene in our country, the discussion around the topic is not new. Campaigns such as Swachh Bharat by the Government of India have raised mass awareness on this over the past few years and also made toilets more accessible even in the remotest areas. The issue really revolves around inculcating good hygiene practices into our daily lives. The highly contagious nature of the ongoing pandemic has made people realize that precautions need to be taken at all times and any lapse in the same can cause health complications. One should always wash hands with soap and water especially after using the washroom, having meals or going to public places. If unable to do so, it is important to use an alcohol-based hand-sanitizer, which can kill viruses and bacteria. Face masks must be used whenever outdoors. It is also important to sanitize your surroundings by using off the shelf or homemade disinfectants etc. Prevention is the best cure against any infection or pandemic. For me good personal hygiene goes beyond the pandemic and it is not just a habit but also a way of life! Q: Why is it important to ensure safety standards, especially in urban cities where social distancing is not an option in densely populated areas where more than 5 or 6 people share a room and communal bathrooms? Fernandez: Mumbai's recent experience is a testament to the fact that even the most congested areas can control the spread of the virus through awareness, timely detection and prevention. Whether one lives alone or with many others, each person should wash their hands frequency and ensure proper hygiene and sanitation. By taking such steps consistently on individual as well as community level, it is possible to contain and defeat the pandemic even if social distancing is always not possible. Having said that, social distancing protocols should be followed as much as possible and face masks should be worn. Q: With all the hand sanitizing and disinfecting, how do you prevent your skin from adverse impact of sanitizers and masks? Fernandez: I have been particular about personal hygiene and using hand-sanitizers even before the pandemic broke out. However, I ensure that my skin doesn't suffer any adverse impact by choosing only good quality hand sanitizers and also controlling their usage. I opt for soap and water hand wash whenever I am at home and use sanitizers only when I am travelling or not in a position to actually wash my hands. I also constantly moisturize my hands. While using disinfectants, I pay attention to avoid spraying them on to my own skin. When out, I use fashionable fabric masks, which are breathable and washable. Such masks not only reduce the environmental impact, but are also extremely comfortable even when worn for hours. These are pandemic times so the top priority is to stay safe. Whether it is an actor or anyone else, everyone must use masks for their own safety. For me, it is about choosing a mask that makes me feel safer and confident because that automatically translates into a style statement. Q: Hollywood has resumed work. Do you think Indian film industry will be quick to follow? Fernandez: Yes, the work is set to resume now and I am quite excited about the same. TV shoots have already started and the film industry will also get going shortly. There is a need to dispel misconceptions and the fear associated with the Covid-19 pandemic and learn to live with it while taking basic precautions like using hand sanitizers, washing hands on a regular basis, wearing a mask and disinfecting commonly used surfaces. This is the new normal and we all need to move forward alongside adhering to these rules. Q: Why did you choose to come on board as the brand ambassador for Raho Safe? Nearly 96 per cent of the people surveyed under a food rights campaign in <keyword id="13126" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maharashtra">Maharashtra</keyword> faced a drop in their earnings during the coronavirus-induced lockdown last year, claims a social body. Job losses and non-availability of casual work were the key reasons for this, and every fifth respondent was forced to go hungry because of no money to buy food, Mukta Srivastava, the state's convener for the Anna Adhikar Abhiyan, told reporters here on Saturday. The abhiyan, comprising a group of activists from food and nutrition sector, surveyed a total of 250 people in May and September last year in Mumbai, <keyword id="37647" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Thane">Thane</keyword>, Raigad, <keyword id="2094" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Pune">Pune</keyword>, Nandurbar, Solapur, Palghar, Nashik, Dhule and Jalgaon. The <keyword id="6356303" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Centre">Centre</keyword> announced a nationwide lockdown in March last year following the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country. Later, after a few months, restrictions were gradually eased in a phased manner. "Around 96 per cent people out of those surveyed admitted that their earnings dropped sharply in the <keyword id="8970017" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="lockdown-period">lockdown period</keyword>, and their situation remained the same five months after the lockdown was lifted," Srivastava said. Of the <keyword id="10443932" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="total-respondents">total respondents</keyword>, 52 per cent were from rural areas and the rest from urban limits. Those surveyed included 60 per cent women, she said. Before the lockdown, nearly 70 per cent of the respondents had a monthly income ₹7,000, while the remaining earned about ₹3,000 per month, Srivastava said. "The drop in such already <keyword id="39116" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="low-incomes">low incomes</keyword> underscores how hard they would have been hit," she said. Nearly 49 per cent of respondents of the survey, conducted as part of the nationwide Right to Food Campaign, had to borrow money from friends and relatives to buy food, she said. Asked about the earning status of respondents in the first few months after the lockdown came into force last year, Srivastava said, "During April and May, 43 per cent people had no income at all. Only 10 per cent of them have come back to their pre-lockdown income levels." The situation of 34 per cent respondents, who had no income in April and May, remained unchanged till September- October, she said. The findings also revealed that 12 per cent of these people sold their jewellery while three per cent sold their land during the lockdown to buy food, Srivastava said. In nutritional aspects, the survey showed lower consumption of cereals (by 63 per cent), vegetables (76 per cent), pulses (71 per cent) and non-vegetarian food (82 per cent), she added.
