Professional networking platform <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/careers/news/how-to-maximize-your-linkedin-presence-and-land-a-high-paying-job-at-the-professional-networking-company/articleshow/87588993.cms" data-type="tilCustomLink">LinkedIn</a> on Thursday unveiled a user interface in Hindi, with the goal to support 600 million Hindi language speakers globally. With this launch, <keyword id="28120" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="linkedin" source="Orion">LinkedIn</keyword> aims to break down language barriers, providing greater access to professional and networking opportunities to Hindi speakers in India and around the world. With the launch of Hindi, LinkedIn now supports 25 languages globally. "We have witnessed high engagement and member growth in the last year, and it is at this exciting inflection point that we are strengthening our vision to create economic opportunity for 'every' member of the workforce, and taking down language barriers for Hindi speakers across the world," Ashutosh Gupta, India Country Manager, LinkedIn said in a statement. Starting Thursday, as part of the Phase 1 roll-out of LinkedIn in Hindi, members will be able to access their feed, profile, jobs, messaging, and create content in Hindi on desktop, and on their Android and iOS phones. As the next step, LinkedIn will work towards widening the range of job opportunities available for Hindi speaking professionals across industries, including more banking, and government jobs. The platform will also continue to add more Hindi publishers and creators in the coming weeks to boost member engagement and conversations in Hindi. Smartphone users will need to select Hindi as their preferred device language under phone settings to view the LinkedIn mobile application in Hindi. For members who are already using Hindi as their preferred language on their smartphones, the LinkedIn experience will automatically be available in Hindi. On desktop, members will need to click on the 'Me' icon at the top of their LinkedIn homepage and select 'Settings and Privacy'. Members then need to click on 'Account Preferences' on the left, select 'Site Preferences', click 'Change' next to 'Language', and select 'Hindi' from the drop down list. India is a core market for growth at LinkedIn and the second largest market in terms of members after the US, accounting for 82 million members as part of a global community of 800 million members. India's member base has grown by 20+ million in the past three years (15 per cent year-over-year growth) and it has witnessed a spike in engagement and conversations on the platform since the pandemic, tye company claims.

 The course of time Under this partnership, IL&amp;FS will design and provide the skilling modules and training while LinkedIn will help the students cover the last mile from up-skilling to getting a job using the platform. LinkedIn has designed a separate interface for the students where they are able to create a profile, access learning content, build their network by connecting with classmates, seniors and instructors and get a job and the instruction is in a Hindi voice-over. The program starts this month at IL&amp;FS Skills Development Centres across India with the initial batch of 400 job-seekers looking for careers in hospitality. A single batch will undergo 45 days of training and LinkedIn aims to expand it to ten batches in 120 days.

It doesn't want to be seen siding with an authoritarian government in a developing country."Raheel Khurseed, a journalist who was Twitter India's head of Politics, Policy and Government from 2014 to 2018, agreed Joe Biden replacing Donald Trump meant there was now a US President who was "ideologically more aligned with Twitter's position on free speech"."The fact that [the Biden administration] would want to hold the same standards elsewhere in the world gives Twitter some amount of immunity as it tries to apply the same standards elsewhere in the world," he told Insider. After Twitter's public statement of defiance, Ravi Shankar, the justice and technology minister, told India's parliament that laws would be tightened to make social media companies more compliant. "We will not tolerate the misuse of social media for fake news," he said."I politely remind the companies, whether it is Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn or WhatsApp or anyone, they are free to work in India, do business, but they need to respect the Indian Constitution."Twitter reportedly met with Indian Government officials earlier this month and had taken down 97% of the accounts authorities had requested. The <a href="https://indianexpress.com/article/india/better-communication-with-govt-twitter-to-restructure-india-team-7184892/">Indian Express reported</a> it told authorities it would restructure its India team so there were more senior managers in the country to handle compliance issues.Khurseed said it was an "interesting moment in Twitter's journey in India"."The government, of course, has its own ideas about how these platforms need to run and whether they implement that on a policy level," he said, adding it "remains to be seen" what will change.He said Twitter might make new appointments and restructure its team but added there were discussions since his time there working about "making policy teams immune to government interference".He added: "I think this is the right time to restart those conversations."Twitter declined to comment, referring Insider to its February 10 statement.
