New Delhi, Mar 30 () Ed-tech platform Lido Learning on Monday said it has raised USD 3 million from Rocket Internet founder Alex Samwer-backed Picus Capital and Paytm President Madhur Deora, among others.The Mumbai-based company had previously raised USD 3 million in November last year led by investors like Ronnie Screwvala, Ananth Narayanan, Vikrampati Singhania and others."Lido Learning is actively disrupting the K-12 market. Considering the current global pandemic, learning online has become the need of the hour. This is pulling the Indian market towards adopting online tutorials much faster than initially expected and is a huge tailwind enabling us to become a dominant category creator within a short span of time," Lido Learning founder and CEO Sahil Sheth said in a statement.Lido Learning provides live, interactive tutoring sessions to students and parents that push learning outcomes through a 6:1 student-teacher ratio, frontier technologies, and personalised content. It is expanding from metros to Tier II and Tier III cities.According to a Google and KPMG report, primary and secondary supplementary education will be the largest category in online education by 2021 growing at a CAGR of 60 per cent."The tremendous growth in the months since launch has proved the great product-market fit they have found. An Indian software icon says kids need not learn coding early

<ul><li>Fresh graduates who took Scaler Academy's six month coding programme secured average compensation of over ₹15 lakh from global multinationals like Amazon, Samsung, Google and more. </li><li>Other job offers came from companies like Lido Learning, MindTickle, Delhivery, 1MG, Oyo, MakeMyTrip and Razorpay. </li><li>Of the 182 learners on the platform, 177 previously had job offers extending an average salary of nearly ₹7.5 lakh via campus placement drives or direct recruitment. </li><li>The learners are mentored by subject matter experts from companies like Google, Facebook, Twitter and Netflix.</li></ul>Fresh graduates who took Scaler Academy’s six-month coding programme, secured jobs offers from global multinationals like Amazon, Samsung, Google and more. The academy also says that their average compensation is also over ₹15 lakh. A third of them also received job offers over ₹25 lakh per annum. Some other companies that provided job offers include Lido Learning, MindTickle, Delhivery, 1MG, Oyo, MakeMyTrip and Razorpay. The academy claims that most of their students also managed to receive compensation that is twice that of their campus job offers. Of the 182 learners on the platform, 83 previously had job offers extending an average salary of nearly ₹7 lakh via campus placement drives or direct recruitment. That means, the salaries offered after reskilling was more than double, compared to the campus offers. “Once the youth of our country is empowered with the necessary skills and knowledge, they are capable of creating hundreds of unicorns like Facebook and Google. The April 2019 batch was the litmus test to understand that. In fact, 33 of them today hold job offers that are paying over ₹25 lakh per annum,” said <keyword id="8665617" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="abhimanyu-saxena">Abhimanyu Saxena</keyword>, Co-founder at Scaler Academy and <keyword id="8665620" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="InterviewBit">InterviewBit</keyword>. Since the larger bank of panoramic elevators is farther along the deck, the aft elevators were used less frequently, and noise was not a problem. The best part, though, was being near the staircase. Since there was technically no Deck 13, I could climb two flights and be right at Deck 16, Discovery Princess' Lido deck.The Lido deck has a mix of cabins and public areas, and the aft stairs brought me right next to the large buffet area. To find your ideal cabin, review the ship's deck plans before you book. They're available on most cruise-line websites, and you can use them to look up staterooms and their locations in relation to stairs and highly trafficked areas.

Many of the city's parks are free to the public and are wonderful spots for kids to picnic, sightsee, and burn off energy.Regent's Park has gorgeous gardens, a playground, and a lake. When he was 11, we hit The British Library to marvel at the Magna Carta and checked out the artwork at the National Portrait Gallery.On our most recent excursion, we watched as our 16-year-old perused the masterpieces at Tate Modern. Udayy's co-founder <keyword id="6553566" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="saumya-yadav" source="Orion">Saumya Yadav</keyword> said that the startup was witnessing the post-pandemic world for the first time as "as the kids went back to school, we faced roadblocks in growing the original model of online, live learning". "After a lot of deliberation, we decided that it's better to shut down the business than to spend more time and capital on it,a Yadav said. The development was first reported by startup news coverage portal Entrackr. The startup has paid employees severance packages and helped them find new jobs. "We are returning the remaining capital, around $8.5 million back to our investors," Yadav was quoted as saying in media reports. The live-learning platform catered to students from Grades 1 to 5. "The industry is growing so fast, I need people who are fast learners," he told Bloomberg. "If you're 42 or 22 and you went to Harvard or didn't go to college at all, it doesn't matter."Blish, according to the report, left JPMorgan Chase as an analytics developer after two years for a crypto career. He's now looking to expand the team at Lido, a DAO focused on solving staking issues in Ethereum 2.0. BYJU's acquired Delhi-based offline test preparatory services provider <keyword id="6380190" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="aakash" source="Orion">Aakash</keyword> for $1 billion last year. The company was reacting to reports that Blackstone and other shareholders of Aakash are yet to be paid in both cash and stock as it has deferred the payment. A company spokesperson told IANS that the acquisition of "Aakash is fully on track and all payments are expected to be completed by the agreed upon date, i.e., August 2022". "Aakash is our most successful acquisition till date and we are very proud to have them in our fold," the company spokesperson added. "Along with all our group companies, we continue to be perfectly poised to provide access to quality education in all learning segments from early learning to exam prep and career success, the spokesperson said. Aakash Educational Services provides test preparation services for medical and engineering entrance exams, school/board exams, and other exams via Aakash Centres. The edtech unicorn made at least 10 acquisitions for a cumulative transaction value of about $2.5 billion last year. The latest development at BYJU's comes as the Indian edtech market is shrinking with reopening of schools, colleges and physical tuition centres. Led by the edtech platforms like Unacademy, <keyword id="8080458" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="whitehat-jr" source="Orion">WhiteHat Jr</keyword>, <keyword id="2016957" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="vedantu" source="Orion">Vedantu</keyword>, FrontRow, Udayy, Lido Learning and others, over 10,000 start-up employees have been laid off in the country. In April, Unacademy laid off nearly 600 employees, contractual workers and educators, about 10 per cent of its 6,000-strong workforce across the group. In June, Unacademy said that a small fraction of its workforce (2.6 per cent or nearly 150 employees) was asked to go as part of a performance improvement programme (PIP). Penelope Cruz says her new film features one of the most 'difficult characters I've ever played'

Accordingly, <keyword id="10407892" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="india-exim-bank" source="Orion">India Exim Bank</keyword> forecast total merchandise exports in Q2FY22 to grow to $98.45 billion from $74.02 billion reported for the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. Besides, non-oil exports are expected to rise 28.3 per cent to $85.63 billion, as compared to $66.73 billion reported for the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal. "The rise in India's exports could be attributed largely to the low base effect, pick-up in growth in advanced economies and the resultant increase in global import demand," India Exim Bank said in a statement. "Increase in commodity prices have also contributed to the increase in India's exports," it added. The forecasts are based on India Exim Bank's Export Leading Index (ELI) model. These forecast are released by India Exim Bank on a quarterly basis, during the first week of June, September, December and March for the corresponding quarters. India's exports expected to grow by 33% during the second quarter

Thiruvananthapuram, <keyword id="28504" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kerala" source="Orion">Kerala</keyword> Chief Minister <keyword id="6356705" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Pinarayi-Vijayan" source="Orion">Pinarayi Vijayan</keyword> on Friday said the state government aims to complete the first dose of <keyword id="54639" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="vaccination" source="Orion">vaccination</keyword> to all above 18 years by September 30. Vijayan said till now, 78.03 per cent of the population above 18 years received the first dose of vaccination, while 30.16 per cent received both doses. The Chief Minister, while addressing the press after a COVID-19 evaluation meeting, said only two per cent of the active cases during September 3-9 in the state required oxygen beds and only one per cent got admitted to ICUs. Vijayan said 93 per cent of people above 45 years received the first dose of vaccine while 50 per cent received the second dose too. "During the period between September 3 to 9, there was an average of 2,42,278 active cases in the state of which only two per cent required oxygen beds and one one per cent got admitted in the ICUs," he said. Vijayan told the media that antigen tests will be conducted only for the purpose of medical treatment in the districts where 80 per cent of the population have been vaccinated with the first dose. "In such districts, RTPCR tests will be used to detect the infection," he said. After analysing the COVID-19 situation, the state government has decided to impose stringent lockdown restrictions in areas where the weekly infection population ratio was above eight per cent. Until today the restrictions were in wards of local self government bodies with WIPR above seven per cent. Kerala today logged 25,010 new COVID-19 cases and 177 deaths, taking the caseload to 43,34,704 and the death toll to 22,303. Health minister Veena George said 1,51,317 samples were tested in the last 24 hours and the test positivity rate was 16.53 per cent.
