<ul><li><keyword id="1518229" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="lenskart" source="Orion">Lenskart</keyword> and <keyword id="14005730" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="mirae-asset-capital" source="Orion">Mirae Asset Capital</keyword> have engaged with <keyword id="2777173" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="razorpay" source="Orion">Razorpay</keyword> for online transactions.</li><li>According to a Razorpay report, stock trading and mutual funds saw tremendous growth in transaction volumes.</li><li>The overall volume of digital payments has gained momentum over the last few years and saw a growth of 33% year-on-year during the financial year (FY) 2021-2022.</li></ul>Eyewear brand Lenskart and financial services conglomerate Mirae Asset Capital Markets have engaged Razorpay to enable online transactions on their platforms, the company said on Monday. “As a brand with a multichannel presence and transactions conducted with D2C and B2B partnerships, we needed a transparent and reliable payment gateway to lead the business transactions in all our retail environments. Today, with partners like Razorpay, we are catering to a customer base of over a million users,” said <keyword id="281032" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="indranil-chakravarty" source="Orion">Indranil Chakravarty</keyword>, chief business officer, Aqualens and Lenskart. According to a Razorpay report, other than e-commerce, food and travel sectors, the online transaction volumes of stock trading and mutual funds also grew at 75% and 100% respectively in 2022 as compared to the year before. “Given our fully digital business model, we are happy to have partnered with Razorpay in our journey at offering the best investment solutions to our customers in the most seamless way possible,” said Arun Chaudhry, director and chief business officer at Mirae Asset Capital Markets. <keyword id="3519846" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="rahul-kothari" source="Orion">Rahul Kothari</keyword>, chief business officer at Razorpay said that millions of businesses can benefit from the enormous growth digital medium offers. “We look forward to empowering them with a full-stack financial solution that acts as their central nervous system for everything payments and business banking,” said othari. The overall volume of digital payments has gained momentum over the last few years and saw a growth of 33% year-on-year in FY22. Lenskart and Mirae Asset Capital sign up with Razorpay for online transactions

<ul><li>Two mompreneurs started <keyword id="3893684" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="dabble" source="Orion">Dabble</keyword>, which produces child-friendly, toxin-free and development-friendly products for art and play. </li><li>It was incubated at NSRCEL, IIM Bangalore’s flagship business incubator. </li><li>Despite low sales, the founders’ vision and quality of products left the sharks impressed.</li></ul>When it comes to creating safe and fun products for children, moms really do know best. At least, that was the case when mompreneurs Neha Bajaj and Karen Saldanha appeared on <keyword id="11924074" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="shark-tank-india" source="Orion">Shark Tank India</keyword> S2 to pitch their startup Dabble. Dabble produces child-friendly, toxin-free and development-friendly products for art and play, which are made from natural and safe ingredients like organic beeswax, natural waxes, coconut oil, etc. Founded in 2017, the Bangalore-based startup was incubated at NSRCEL, IIM Bangalore’s flagship business incubator. “When we parents try to inspire creativity in our children, we buy art products for them. But when children try to become creative, we act like the traffic police. Why? For the safety of our children,” shared Saldanha on the show. Impressed by their product and vision, Shaadi.com founder Anupam Mittal offered to come on board as a third partner. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Cooking more than just food!" comment="subhead2" text="Cooking more than just food!">Cooking more than just food!</cmsannotation> Bajaj and Saldanha are both moms of children aged below 10. Saldanha holds an MBA degree in management and finance from the School of Communication and Management Studies, Cochin. She has worked with ICICI Prudential Life Insurance and PlatinumOne Learning Solutions in the past. Bajaj, on the other hand, is a photographer who has worked with publications like Lonely Planet, Travel &amp; Leisure, and others. She graduated with a degree in journalism from Mount Carmel College, Bengaluru, before pursuing a Master’s in photography from Light &amp; Life Academy, Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu. Bajaj and Saldanha <a href="https://yourstory.com/2021/04/the-turning-point-art-startup-dabble">met </a>at an expressive art therapy course in Bengaluru and became friends. Inspired by their own search for locally available safe art products, the two started Dabble in Bajaj’s kitchen - experimenting with various organic and natural materials. The experimentation continued with the duo commissioning a food technologist and cosmetologist to develop the formulations. Ultimately, in 2019, Dabble sold its first product. Dabble, which started with crayons and finger paints, currently has 10 products for children aged 1 and above - art accessories like glue, canvas board, etc. along with art &amp; craft kits and combo sets. The products are available on the company website and marketplaces like Amazon and FirstCry. The paint brushes are ergonomically designed to make them easier for children to hold and use. Apart from regular crayons, Dabble also produces crayons in different shapes that are fun to play with. The products are designed keeping in mind the emotional and mental needs of children and are safe enough to cause no harm, even if children accidentally ingest them, claimed the founders. “We are the first company in India to have printed the entire list of our ingredients on our packaging…We decided to take this step as mothers, to build transparency,” shared Saldanha on the show. Dabble achieved sales of ₹17 lakh in FY20, ₹14 lakh in FY21, and ₹47.5 lakh in FY22. Sales are not strong, so I’m out. But I think you have a great product,” remarked Thapar. However, Shaadi.com founder Anupam Mittal made an offer to go on board as a third partner, and not just as an investor. He thus offered ₹50 lakh for 33.33% equity in the company. This valued the company at ₹1.5 crore. “I can give you ₹50 lakh but I'll come in as the one-third part. I’m not at all giving a valuation to the company. I want to be somebody who can come in as a business partner and help your business move in the right direction, and subsequently, scale up,” remarked Mittal. While Sugar Cosmetics co-founder Vineeta Singh also backed out, boAt co-founder Aman Gupta offered an equity-and-debt deal – ₹15 lakh investment for 10% equity with ₹35 lakh debt at 0% interest. This also valued the company at ₹1.5 crore. “I can’t be your co-founder where I want one-third of your share. I don’t want to run your company,” shared Gupta. Both Gupta and Mittal tried convincing the founders on which deal was better. Ultimately though, the founders agreed to Gupta’s offer - an investment of ₹15 lakh for 10% equity with ₹35 lakh debt at no interest. <ul><li>SAS <keyword id="16293257" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="fat-to-slim" source="Orion">Fat to Slim</keyword> is a startup that claims to provide diet plans for <keyword id="6358794" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="weight-loss" source="Orion">weight loss</keyword> that require no exercise. </li><li>All the judges backed out from investing in the startup. </li><li>Sharks Namita Thapar and Anupam Mittal called it out for promoting unhealthy diets.</li></ul>Of the many pitches featured on season 1 of <keyword id="11924074" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="shark-tank-india" source="Orion">Shark Tank India</keyword>, Navel Fukai aka the Belly Button Shaper was one of the most bizarre products, which ended up being turned down by the entire panel. In Season 2, it was the turn of SAS Fat to Slim to be slammed by all the judges who variously called the startup’s no-exercise weight loss plan ‘dangerous’ and ‘gimmicky’. Founded by Shikha Aggarwal Sharma, SAS Fat to Slim is a Delhi-based startup that promotes weight loss with diet plans, and no exercise. As per Sharma, in weight loss, diet makes 80% of the difference, and exercise only contributes 20%. But shark Namita Thapar, executive director at Emcure Pharmaceuticals, called out the product for being nothing more than a gimmick. “How can you say ‘no exercise’? I fundamentally don’t agree with your theory. Let’s spread the message that weight loss happens by changing one’s lifestyle. Our country is turning into a diabetes capital, and blood pressure capital because people are doing such ‘gimmicky’ activities, and messing with their health. I’m sorry but when I hear such claims, I’m angry. I think we need to stop misleading the country,” remarked Thapar. Multiple reports echo Thapar’s sentiment. But SAS Fat to Slim focused on easily available products, created by her own weight loss experience and knowledge of diet and nutrition. However, her claims were refuted by the sharks. Shaadi.com founder Anupam Mittal shared that he had studied a little about diabetes and the impact of sugar on human bodies, and slammed the sample diet that Sharma shared for an individual with diabetes. “According to macronutrients, you are recommending a diet of carbohydrates because you didn’t recommend protein till now. It’s akin to poison for a diabetic,” remarked Mittal. As per <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/science/health/news/one-in-every-six-indians-has-borderline-diabetes-says-report/articleshow/95497532.cms">reports</a>, one in every six Indians has diabetes. Chhavi Kohli, chief diabetes educator and nutritionist at Medanta the Medicity, Gurgaon, also shared with Business Insider India that “there is no special diet for diabetes; the whole idea is to nourish the body by taking various nutrients in the right proportion and right time.” Mittal also added that all bodies are different and while Sharma’s plan worked for her, it could prove to be dangerous for others. “You reduced weight with dedication and it’s remarkable. But now you’re packaging the same template that worked for you to other people. Vineeta Singh, co-founder of Sugar Cosmetics, also backed out adding that she didn’t align with Sharma’s core business proposition – of losing weight with no exercise Lenskart co-founder Peyush Bansal, meanwhile, backed out stating that he didn’t believe the startup needed any investments. “An investment will only make things worse. You’ll have the pressure of ROI (return on investment) after an investor invests, which will get you stuck in a vicious loop that could impact the diet’s authenticity,” said Bansal. Gupta also backed out quoting his fellow shark Thapar’s catchphrase – that he has no expertise in the field.
