New Delhi, Italian automaker Automobili <keyword id="75789" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="lamborghini" source="Orion">Lamborghini</keyword> plans to deploy hybrid technology in its models in India by the end of 2024 as the Italian super sports car maker aims to halve the emissions from its cars in the coming years, according to a top company executive. The niche player also expressed confidence that the country's taxation policy remains consistent though any tax reductions will be welcome. The company currently sells three models -- premium SUV Urus and two super sports cars Huracan Tecnica and Aventador in the country, with prices starting upwards of Rs 3 crore. "The roadmap for us is that by the end of 2024 we are going to hybridise our entire model range. So this year we will have a first hybrid, the new V12, then in 2024 we will have the Urus hybrid and also a new V10 which is also going to be a hybrid," <keyword id="1713293" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="lamborghini-india" source="Orion">Lamborghini India</keyword> Head Sharad Agarwal told PTI. In 2028, the company plans to bring in a fourth model globally which is going to be the fully electric model, he added. "The idea is to reduce 50 per cent of the emissions from our cars by 2025," Agarwal said. The company will bring in the upgraded models globally and then introduce them in the Indian market as well. Lamborghini began its India operations in 2007. Last year, it sold 92 units in India, a growth of 33 per cent over 69 units in 2021. When asked if the high rate of taxation on imported cars is affecting the growth of the luxury car segment in India, Agarwal said: "Today, the market is aligned to the current tax structure that we have..who would not like to have lesser duties..but that is not the priority from our end..." Further, he said, "Last 5-6 years, we have seen that there is a constant tax regime from the government and we would always request in maintaining this consistency. Once the segment is aligned with the structure let the segment grow." He stated that the government should maintain the consistency in the policy. "We are not asking to reduce it (tax) but if it comes down who will say no to it," Agarwal said. Lamborghini imports its entire model range to India. Currently, imported as CBUs (Completely Built Units) with CIF of more than USD 40,000 or with engine capacity of more than 3,000 cc for petrol-run vehicles and more than 2,500 cc for diesel-run vehicles attract 100 per cent customs duty.

This strategy has been a key pillar for our growth in the country. Interestingly, Lamborghini is yet to launch a fully electric car. The company has claimed that it will launch its electric car before 2030 and the Indian launch will be at the same as the global launch. NFT artist blows Lamborghini to 999 pieces — now stands to make at least $1 million

New Delhi, Jul 5 () Italian super sports car maker Lamborghini is banking on a healthy order book to prevent huge sales dip in India this year due to the coronavirus pandemic as it resumes deliveries of vehicles from this month after restarting operations following lockdown relaxations, according to a senior company official. While new orders are slow to come by, Lamborghini India is not witnessing any cancellations of bookings, although some customers have asked for delayed deliveries due to the health crisis. "We still have a strong order bank for Urus and also we launched the new Evo RWD in the beginning of the year. This helped us to build the order bank for the year, which will be acting as a big support in terms of getting some decent numbers this year," Lamborghini India Head Sharad Agarwal told . The company, which sold 52 units of its super luxury vehicles that are priced above Rs 2.5 crore in India last year, feels that its sales this year will not match that figure. "Definitely, we may not hit the same number as last year but this order bank will definitely support us in (preventing) a decline, which is not as bad as the industry," he said, adding "the good thing is whatever order bank we have we have not seen any cancellations and the customers are still committed with us." Admitting that there are delays in deliveries due to the shutdown of the company's factory in Italy from March 13 to April 25 due to the pandemic, he said there are also some instances where customers are seeking to defer delivery of booked cars by one or two months. "This is fair because this is the kind of environment which you can't push. Overall, I still see a positive sign that we are not seeing customers coming and saying now I don't want to take the car," Agarwal added. From June 8, the company had reopened its dealerships after Unlock 1.0 and has resumed about 50 per cent operations. Although the market is moving slowly and gradually, it remains uncertain how the year will go, Agarwal added. "We have to see how the new orders start coming and we have to see the situation on the ground...The new orders will be slightly slower unless we start seeing positive signals and the business turning more positive because the priorities today are different. "The motive has changed for people. The motive is to remain relevant, take care of their people, take care of their businesses. It is also reflecting in demand (of vehicles)," he said. Although the new orders will be primarily for next year, Agarwal said "we are still trying to see orders for November or December production, and then they will start moving for next year. For some models, we are already taking orders for next year." Agarwal further said the company will resume deliveries from this month as some cars are coming in. "The factory was closed from March 13 to April 25 and after that the production has started. There are cars which were manufactured in May and June, we are receiving it in July," he said. On the outlook, he said if the economy slows further the super luxury segment will definitely a decline sharper than the mass volume segment as "the super luxury segment is driven by emotions", although it is difficult to put a number on the decline. He said ever since the relaxation of lockdown, the overall passenger cars market has witnessed demand at the entry level as a lot of people are looking at having personal mode of transportation and they want to avoid public transport. "So there will be some uptick in demand in the entry level but luxury, premium and super luxury segments will be seeing much sharper decline because in these segments you really don't need a personal mode of transportation, you already have enough cars in the house," Agarwal said. Stating that it remains quite uncertain as to how the year will pan out, he said, "We are taking each month as an independent unit and trying to work around that because it is very difficult to plan today what you want to do in Q3 and Q4." He, however, expressed optimism that next year will be better. "By Q1 next year, things will turn around and we don't see 2021 as a challenge yet. Ahmedabad, Feb 13 () Contrary to a belief that super-rich would not think much when it comes to buying their favourite car, the Indian arm of super sports car manufacturer Lamborghini has said around 60 to 65 per cent of their cars are sold on car finance in the country. While most of the buyers of these super-cars are industrialists and businessmen, the company has rarely sold a car to a corporate professional, such as a CEO, in India, said Lamborghini India head Sharad Agarwal. "Our buyers are wealth creators, not wealth inheritors. They understand the value of money. Though they have money they would calculate everything before shelling out Rs 5 crore on a car. He would think about investing that much money into his own business and buy the car on loan," Sharad Agarwal told reporters here. "Let me tell you that we do sell cars on EMI. More than 60 to 65 per cent our our cars are sold on finance. Majority of our buyers are industrialists or businessmen. Unlike in the US, very rarely we witness a corporate professional, like a CEO, buying a Lamborghini in India," he said. He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the launch of 'Huracan EVO RWD', a super sports car. Price of the car starts from Rs 3.22 crore, ex-showroom, pan-India. Agarwal said the super luxury segment (cars priced above Rs 2.5 crore) too experienced a slowdown last calendar year of 2019, when just 265 such cars of different brands were sold in India. In 2018, the number was 315. While Lamborghini India sold 45 units in 2018, the number was 52 in 2019 calendar year. "While the market sentiments were negative last year, our growth was around 15 per cent last year. We are looking to maintain the growth momentum in this year too" said Agarwal, adding that people from non-metro cities are also queuing up to buy Lamborghini cars these days. "Around three years back, 99 per cent our sales was coming from metro cities, like Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata. Now metro cities contribute 75 per cent while 25 per cent sales is coming from tier-1 and tier-2 cities, such as Ahmedabad, Surat, Nashik, Jaipur, Indore and Kanpur. Regulatory issues, lack of appropriate retail environment, high import taxes, smuggling, aftersales service and failures on part of the local distributors, ET informs, have kept the market for such embellished handcrafted pieces very limited and under-promising. "We are doing only 30% of what we aim to do," Charu Makin, director of Navshiv Retail, said a Delhi-based retailer that has exclusive rights to market and sell Mobiad. 
 While the smartphone makers including <keyword id="10591" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Samsung">Samsung</keyword> and <keyword id="6354716" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Nokia">Nokia</keyword> have utilized Indian market to grow their revenue, luxury phones including Vertu and Mobiado are struggling to sell even 300 pieces annually. 
 
Priced between Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 7.5 lakh, the luxury phones are growing in the range of 8-14% in the past couple of years. 
Plans to launch Lamborghini branded cell phones in India have been shelved for the time being as market conditions are proving to be unfavourable. 
 
As per the financial daily, having tied up with Luxury Quotient group, Lamborghini is currently in talks with a few more Indian players to explore a partnership. Targeting the affluent and the creamy rich, these brands have also partnered with luxury carmakers like <keyword id="16120" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Ferrari">Ferrari</keyword>, <keyword id="91409" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Aston-Martin">Aston Martin</keyword> and Bentley for co-promotional and co-development. Alike these, <keyword id="54994" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Tag-heuer">Tag Heuer</keyword>, Dior and Ulysse Nardin, which sell phones in India have achieved a limited success in the sales front. 
 
Talking to ET, a senior executive working at a multibrand retailer while analysing the issue said, "Customers look at these phones more from a fashion accessory point of view and not always happy about the technology within which makes it challenging for retailers to sell pieces worth lakhs to a value seeking Indian buyer.”

	Lamborghini is known to be one of the most coveted boy toy and it is all set to bring in the Huracan, which is already a huge success in the international markets. The model sold over 700 orders in less than a month’s time of its launch. Within just a few months of its launch, this most affordable model from the Lamborghini’s stable has already surpassed the brand’s biggest seller - the Gallardo.
 

	Expected to be launched in September in India, the car is already showcased in one of the Mumbai dealership. Estimated to be priced at Rs 3.43 crore (ex-showroom), the Huracan is suppose to create waves for Lamborghini in the country and it seems that is already happening. As the dealers confirmed that a few customers confirmed their orders even without seeing the car, relying on its huge success in global markets and the Lamborghini brand name. Now that’s called brand power!
 

	India’s first supercar at a steal deal price
 While aspirations are climbing high for supercars, the price does become a big deterrent as shelling a few crores is not that easy for everyone. That’s the opportunity that the <keyword id="342409" type="POSITION" weightage="80" keywordseo="ace-car-designer">ace car designer</keyword> Dilip Chabaria is looking to tap into. Chabaria’s design company <keyword id="49862" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="DC-design">DC Design</keyword> is a frontrunner in the design field and has provided its services to big brands like Aston Martin. DC Design has invested Rs 100 crore in developing India’s first supercar and setting up its production facility. The company will be sourcing its engine and transmission from a global car manufacturer. The experts are saying that this very first supercar of India is expected to be no less than any big name in this space, in terms of its looks and performance but at a one tenth cost of Rs 30 lakh. Now that makes this quite a steal deal, considering that most of the supercars available in the country have a starting range of Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 3 crore. This means that a young and aspirational executive, who would have bought an <keyword id="962780" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Audi-A3">Audi A3</keyword> or a <keyword id="6355119" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="BMW">BMW</keyword> X1, can actually buy a supercar! 

	While that seems quite alluring, one may wonder if there will be enough takers for an Indian made supercar. The fact is that Indian consumers are more than ever excited about it. News reports are ripe that despite slated to be launched at Diwali (a few months away from now), this supercar has already sold its first year capacity production of 2000 units.
 There are other big names too expected to join the supercar market of India soon, and <keyword id="6454902" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Fiat">Fiat</keyword>’s coveted <keyword id="301878" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Maserati">Maserati</keyword> is one name among those. Industry reports suggest that buoyed by the increasing interest of Indian consumers in super cars, the <keyword id="132365" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Fiat-Group">Fiat Group</keyword> is soon going to launch its sports car brand Maserati in the country. Certainly it seems that Indians are gearing for a supercar bonanza!

India Geared Up For Supercars, More Than Ever?

<keyword id="42747" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="tata-motors" source="Orion">Tata Motors</keyword> on Friday reported 1.73 per cent decline in overall global sales at 74,172 units in November 2023 as compared to 75,478 units in the same month last year. Total domestic sales were at 72,647 units last month as compared to 73,467 units in November 2022, down 1 per cent, <keyword id="8555" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tata" source="Orion">Tata</keyword> Motors said in a regulatory filing. Overall sales of passenger vehicles (PV), including electric vehicles (EV) were at 46,143 units as against 46,425 units in the year-ago month, down 1 per cent, it added. In the domestic market, PV sales, including EVs were marginally higher at 46,068 units last month as compared to 46,037 units in November 2022. Sales of passenger EVs, including in the domestic market, stood at 4,761 units as against 4,451 units in the year-ago month, up 7 per cent, the company said. Tata Motors said its total commercial vehicles (CV) sales in November 2023 were at 28,029 units as compared to 29,053 units in the same month last year, down 4 per cent. Domestic CV sales were lower by 3 per cent at 26,579 units as compared to 27,430 units in the year-ago month, it added. Tata Motors total sales down 1.73% at 74,172 units in Nov

New Delhi, <keyword id="6357096" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mahindra-mahindra" source="Orion">Mahindra &amp; Mahindra</keyword> on Friday said its total wholesales increased by 21 per cent year on year to 70,576 units in November. The Mumbai-based automaker had dispatched 58,303 units in November 2022. Utility vehicle dispatches stood at 39,981 units last month, an increase of 32 per cent over 30,238 units in the year-ago period, <keyword id="45224" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mahindra" source="Orion">Mahindra</keyword> &amp; Mahindra (M&amp;M) said in a statement. Exports, however, declined 42 per cent last month to 1,816 units as compared to 3,122 units in November 2022. "We continue our growth trend, backed by strong demand for our SUV portfolio...While we saw a healthy festive season, we faced supply challenges on select parts during the month. We are keeping a close watch and taking appropriate steps to mitigate the challenges," M&amp;M President Automotive Division Veejay Nakra said. M&amp;M said its tractor wholesales stood at 32,074 units in November as compared to 30,528 units in the year-ago period. Exports, however, declined to 1,005 units last month from 1,348 units in November 2022. "The festive season saw high demand pull in the domestic market, supported by Kharif harvest realisations, with retails being strong during Dhanteras and Diwali," M&amp;M President-Farm Equipment Sector Hemant Sikka said. Terms of trade continue to be favourable for farmers, while rural spending by the government and progress in rabi sowing are the factors to watch out for, he added. Mahindra sales rise 21% to 70,576 units in November

<ul><li>One of the largest in India, Axis Mutual Fund has suddenly suspended two fund managers from running any schemes because of serious violations.</li><li>In an official statement, the asset management company said that it has been investigating potential irregularities and has zero tolerance towards any instance of non-compliance.</li><li>The fund house has changed management of seven funds – Axis Consumption ETF, Axis Banking ETF, Axis NIFTY ETF, Axis Arbitrage Fund, Axis Quant Fund, Axis Technology ETF and Axis Value Fund.</li><li>Here’s how the new changes could impact existing Axis mutual fund investors.</li></ul>The mutual fund industry is going through another round of irregularity after a fiasco at Franklin Templeton a few years back – two of Axis Mutual Fund managers have been suspended on allegations of wrongdoing. Axis Mutual Fund has suddenly suspended two fund managers from running any schemes because of serious violations. Viresh Joshi, chief trader &amp; equity fund manager and Deepak Agarwal, assistant equity fund manager are under investigation at present. In an official statement, <keyword id="283762" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="axis-mf" source="Orion">Axis MF</keyword> said that it has been conducting a suo-moto investigation over the last two months (since February 2022) and reputed external advisors are helping with the investigation. “As part of the process, two fund managers have been suspended pending investigation of potential irregularities. We take compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements seriously, and have zero tolerance towards any instance of non-compliance,” the fund house said in a statement. As a result, the Axis MF has changed management of seven funds under these managers and reassigned them to others – Axis Consumption ETF, Axis Banking ETF, Axis NIFTY ETF, Axis Arbitrage Fund, Axis Quant Fund, Axis Technology ETF and Axis Value Fund. Axis MF is the seventh largest mutual fund house in the industry with an AUM of around ₹2.5 lakh crore. <a href="https://www.newindianexpress.com/business/2022/may/07/fresh-scandal-rocks-mutual-fundssector-two-axis-fund-managers-suspended-2450681.html">Reportedly</a>, the flamboyant lifestyle of one of the fund managers, who drives a limited-edition Lamborghini and owns several houses in Mumbai, caught the attention of the fund house, which began investigating the matter. Axis Mutual Fund suspends two equity fund managers due to alleged wrongdoing – here's how it impacts existing Axis MF investors

<img class="gwt-Image" src="/photo/47655332.cms" /> Seeking a double digit growth this year, <keyword id="45964" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Rolls-Royce">Rolls Royce</keyword> plans to attract women and younger buyers as these are its hot customers right now who are boosting its sales. Two factors, with cars starting at around Rs 3 crore and going up to Rs 6 crore depending on the level of customisation, only those with serious spending money can afford a Rolls and the growth in the number of female ultra-high net worth individuals is expected to exceed that of males, fuelled by entrepreneurship, albeit on a smaller base, are working behind its sales. 
 "This expected growth of affluent self-made women is very encouraging," said <keyword id="85936" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Paul-Harris">Paul Harris</keyword>, region director, Asia Pacific for Rolls Royce. "Buyers now are younger. I would say female interest has doubled, female ownership of our modern products has significantly increased." 
 Film star <keyword id="1655" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Priyanka-Chopra">Priyanka Chopra</keyword> bought a Rolls last year, according to industry sources. 
 
"I like the design, which I feel is a marvel that transcends time," Gupta told ET recently. "Every inch of the car is an epitome of superior craftsmanship. The design pays homage to the classical models, but is still contemporary. The Ghost starts silently, and stays silent even when it gathers speed. I find its power of silence remarkable," said entrepreneur Paras Gupta, 22, a director at pre-school chain Mother's Pride, who recently took delivery of a Rolls Royce Ghost Series 2 in Delhi. 
 
 
Moreover, Rolls Royce will be organising an exclusive women's event in Mumbai this year, said Harris. The events will revolve around the fashion and bridal arenas — no men will be allowed, not even Harris. 
 
He also pointed out that the seven members Asia marketing team is all women. Additionally, the company's Bespoke Design Team at the Goodwood headquarters in the UK has textile design experts Cherica Haye and Michelle Lusby who are responsible for designing exterior paint and leather colours as well as interior textures. In India, the dealership in Chennai is headed by a woman and the company intends to hire a significant female workforce at its sales outlets going ahead. 
 
"We need to adapt and make sure that there are enough women working at our dealerships, so we would be hiring more to cater to future need," Harris said. Besides this, the company is trying to make its communication more suited to a youthful audience rather than those of an older generation, he said. It collaborated with New York's <keyword id="212569" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Pratt-Institute">Pratt Institute</keyword>, known for its architecture, interior design and industrial design programmes, on the 'Inspired by Fashion' version of the Wraith. The launch event in New York in March 2015 also featured three women fashion leaders discussing change in the fashion industry. 
 
Apart from the Wraith cited above, the Phantom Limelight has also been designed to appeal to women. The Limelight, of which only 25 have been made, features a women's pannier, or storage area, that can be personalised. 
 
Super sports carmaker Lamborghini is also catering to this trend. When it comes to choosing among sports cars, women tip the scales, according to internal research. Globally, celebrity Lamborghini owners include Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and model Deana Uppal. 
This is a reflection of women wanting to drive the powerful machines that were once the preserve of men, said Pavan Shetty, head of operations at Lamborghini India. 
 
"The number of women who own Lamborghinis today and the ones who share the cars with their husbands is increasing," he said. "We intend to seriously increase our engagement with women prospects and would like to see more women owning our cars." Harris, who declined to mention a target for sales this year, was asked if 100 cars a year would be possible. 
 
"That number is still the market we see as the potential, with the product lines that are coming in and as long as the rest of the platform remains same," he said. "I think it is possible. Absolutely." He also sees forthcoming models as widening the company's appeal. One is the Dawn, which will be launched globally this year and is likely to reach India by 2016. The Cullinan, the company's first SUV, is expected to be launched in three years or so. 
 All alike agree that catering to women’s likes is the key to its growth. The market for super <keyword id="6376889" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="luxury-cars">luxury cars</keyword> such as Rolls Royce, Bentley, Lamborghini and Ferrari, priced at Rs 2 crore to Rs 6 crore, posted a decline of 15% to 110-115 units due to sluggish macro-economic factors. 
 
Last year, Rolls Royce sold 4,000 cars worldwide — the fifth record year in a row. But only 40 of those cars were sold in India, down from 91 in 2011. In the luxury auto trade, the marque has unbeatable cachet but the BMW-owned Rolls Royce needs to rebuild sales in the country.
