<ul><li><keyword id="266210" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="FINO">Fino</keyword> has filed its DRHP with SEBI today.</li><li>The IPO includes fresh issue of ₹300 crore</li><li>The bank may consider a pre-IPO placement aggregating up to ₹60 crore.</li></ul>Fino Payments Bank has filed preliminary papers with markets regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to raise an estimated ₹1,300 crore through an initial share-sale. The initial public offer (IPO) includes a fresh issue of equity shares worth ₹300 crore and an offer-for-sale of 15,602,999 equity shares by promoter Fino Paytech, according to draft red herring prospectus (DRHP). Proceeds from the fresh issue would be used towards augmenting the bank's tier-1 capital base to meet its future capital requirements. The bank may consider a pre-IPO placement aggregating up to ₹60 crore. If such placement is completed, the fresh issue size will be reduced. According to merchant banking sources, the IPO is expected to fetch ₹1,300 crore. Fino Payments Bank or FPBL is a scheduled commercial bank serving the emerging India market with its digital based financial services. The company is a fully-owned subsidiary of Fino Paytech, a pioneer in technology enabled financial inclusion solutions. Fino Paytech is backed by investors like Blackstone, ICICI Group, Bharat Petroleum and International Finance Corporation (<keyword id="85860" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="IFC">IFC</keyword>). Over the last few years, FPBL has witnessed a steep surge in transaction volumes on the back of digitization and proliferation of its banking points. The payments bank's platform has facilitated more than 434 million transactions with a gross transaction value of ₹1.32 lakh crore in financial year 2020-21, as per the draft papers. It has a strong leadership position in the fintech industry having the largest network of micro ATMs as of March 2021 with a market share of 55 per cent, a robust merchant network of 6.4 lakh and 25.7 <keyword id="11649328" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="lakh-bank">lakh bank</keyword> accounts. Its revenue for 2020-21 stood at ₹791 crore that grew at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 29 per cent in the last three years and the bank registered a profit of ₹20.5 crore in the year. The finance ministry on Thursday said public sector banks (PSBs) have extended support of Rs 2.56 lakh crore to NBFCs by way of credit and pooled buyout since September 2018 as part of efforts to provide much-needed liquidity to the sector. Further, under the partial guarantee scheme, PSBs have been accorded sanction to purchase Rs 21,580 crore worth of pooled assets as on October 16, the ministry said in a status report of various stimulus measures announced since August 23 to boost sagging economic growth which hit a six-year low of 5 per cent during the first quarter of the current fiscal. To address the stress in the sector, Finance Minister <keyword id="129243" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Nirmala-Sitharaman">Nirmala Sitharaman</keyword> in the Budget proposed that public sector banks would purchase high-rated pooled assets of financially sound NBFCs, amounting to a total of Rs 1 lakh crore, during the current financial year. For this, the government will provide a one-time six months' partial credit guarantee to PSBs for first loss of up to 10 per cent. The finance minister announced several short and long-term measures to boost the economy in three phases between August 23 and September 14, it said. Out of the total 44 measures announced, 16 have been fulfilled, it said, adding the rest of the announcements are under active consideration by relevant ministries. Further, it said action on one out of three announcements made for the <keyword id="35061" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="housing">housing</keyword> sector has been completed and the other two are being taken up. In respect to GST refund to MSMEs within 30 days, it said a refund drive was organised and the tax department paid Rs 10,490 crore or 97 per cent of total pending amount of Rs 10,841 crore. In order to spend Rs 100 lakh crore for developing modern infrastructure over five years, a Task Force under the chairmanship of the economic affairs secretary has been constituted. It will draw up a National Infrastructure Pipeline for each of the years from FY 2019-20 to FY 2024-25. So far, 12 meetings of the Task Force have been held and deliberations with 17 ministries/departments have been completed. The finance ministry has effected upfront release of capital to PSBs, with Rs 60,314 crore being infused in banks in September 2019 through recapitalisation bonds, including Rs 4,557 crore in <keyword id="6357560" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="idbi-bank">IDBI Bank</keyword>. With regard to boosting exports, it said the RBI issued orders on September 20, 2019 for enhancing sanction limits for eligibility of export credit under priority sector lending from Rs 25 crore to Rs 40 crore per borrower and removing overall turnover limit of Rs 100 crore. The integrated refund module along with single disbursement has been deployed with effect from September 26, it said. Giving details of announcements implemented, it said e-assessment scheme has been launched, relief has been given from enhanced surcharge on long-term/short-term capital gains and angel tax provisions for startups and their investors have been withdrawn. Global online higher education provider <keyword id="2008319" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Upgrad">upGrad</keyword> on Monday became another unicorn from the country, after it announced to close a total of $185 million funding round at a market valuation of $1.2 billion. The company raised fresh funds from Temasek, IFC (International Finance Corporation, a sister organisation of <keyword id="6354424" type="DEFINITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="world-bank">World Bank</keyword>) and IIFL. "We are very focused on our path to being in the top three-five companies globally in edtech and serving the one billion workforce across the age group of 18-60. We are pleased with the investor interest ever since we opened up for a fundraise, and had our maiden raise from Temasek, followed by IFC and IIFL in the last 60 days," said <keyword id="25725" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ronnie-Screwvala">Ronnie Screwvala</keyword>, Chairperson and Co-founder, upGrad. In April, UpGrad had raised $120 million from Temasek, a global investment company headquartered in Singapore. "We will announce further updates on M&amp;As, and unlocking value as they unfold. Around 10 lakh <keyword id="6477319" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bank-Employees">bank employees</keyword>, belonging to public and private sectors, have decided to observe a day-long strike on July 29, as a protest against the "anti-people" banking reform policies that the centre has announced. 
 
The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), which consists of nine trade unions across the country, have around 10 lakh bank employees and officers, all of which would be taking part in the strike. 
 
The employees have several demands, including not to privatise public sector banks or to increase private capital in such banks, while also protesting against Foreign Direct Investment in the banking sector. 
 Other than this, the unions are also opposing move to privatise regional rural banks, co-operative banks, consolidate and merging banks among others, said All India Bank Employees Association (<keyword id="327672" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="AIBEA">AIBEA</keyword>) General Secretary C H Venkatachalam.

10 Lakh bank employees to go on strike on 29th July, protesting against unfriendly reforms

New Delhi, Dec 9 () Paytm Payments Bank (PPB) on Monday said it issued 6 lakh FASTags in the month of November.
 The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways had announced that toll payments on highways would be accepted through FASTags only from December 1. This was later extended to December 15.
 In a statement, PPB said it sold 6 lakh tags in the month of November, and claimed that it has equipped over 1.85 million vehicles with FASTags.
 The National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) programme, the flagship initiative of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, has been implemented on a pan-India basis in order to remove bottlenecks and ensure seamless movement of traffic and collection of user fee as per the notified rates, using passive radio frequency identification (RFID) technology. 
 As on December 3, 2019, a total of 82.55 lakh FASTags have been issued. 
 PPB said it has also partnered with automobile manufacturers such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai Motor India, Honda Cars India, Kia Motors India Pvt Ltd, MG Motor India and others to offer pre-fitted Paytm FASTags at the time of vehicle purchase itself.
 "While over 250 camps have been set up at toll plazas, another 500 have been arranged in corporate offices, residential societies and parking lots in the top 20 cities, including Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Pune, Chennai and Jaipur," it added.
 PPB is further boosting the sale of FASTags by deploying 3,500 business correspondents in all major cities and towns, it said. SR RVK

Canara Bank hits business milestone of ₹20 lakh crore

New Delhi, Jun 30 () The finance ministry on Tuesday said banks have sanctioned over Rs 1 lakh crore loans under the Rs 3-lakh crore Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) for the MSME sector reeling under coronavirus-induced economic slowdown. While, Rs 45,860 crore is disbursed under the 100 per cent ECLGS for the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) till June 26, it said. The scheme is the biggest fiscal component of the Rs 20-lakh crore 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan' package announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman last month. The latest number on ECLGS, as released by the Finance Ministry, comprises all 12 public sector banks (PSBs), 20 private sector banks and 8 NBFCs. "Under the 100 per cent ECLGS backed by a government guarantee, banks from public and private sectors have sanctioned loans worth over Rs 1 lakh crore as of June 26, 2020, of which more than Rs 45,000 crore has already been disbursed," the finance ministry said in a statement. This would help more than 30 lakh units of MSMEs and other businesses restart their businesses post the lockdown, it said. PSBs have sanctioned loans of Rs 57,525.47 crore, whereas private sector lenders have sanctioned Rs 44,335.52 crore under ECLGS, which started on June 1, it said. As on June 26, public sector banks have disbursed Rs 29,232 crore and private sector peers Rs 16,628 crore. The top lenders under the scheme are State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank, Canara Bank and HDFC Bank, it added. Market leader SBI has sanctioned Rs 19,593 crore and disbursed Rs 12,026 crore as on June 26. It is followed by Bank of Baroda with a sanction of Rs 7,273 crore and disbursement at Rs 2,695 crore. The second largest lender Punjab National Bank was at the third spot, as per the data, with the cumulative sanction of Rs 7,188 crore. Its disbursement was nearly one-third at Rs 2,125 crore. State-wise, business units of Maharashtra have got the highest cumulative sanction of Rs 6,179 crore from banks, while disbursement was to the tune of Rs 2,774 crore at the end of June 26. It is followed by Uttar Pradesh with a sanction of Rs 5,646 crore, with disbursement of Rs 2,861 crore. On May 21, the Cabinet had approved additional funding of up to Rs 3 lakh crore at a concessional rate of 9.25 per cent through ECLGS for the MSME sector. Under the scheme, 100 per cent guarantee coverage will be provided by National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company (NCGTC) for additional funding of up to Rs 3 lakh crore to eligible MSMEs and interested Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency (MUDRA) borrowers, in the form of a guaranteed emergency credit line (GECL) facility. For this purpose, a corpus of Rs 41,600 crore was provided by the government, spread over the current and next three financial years. The scheme will be applicable to all loans sanctioned under GECL facility during the period from the date of announcement of the scheme to October 31 or till an amount of Rs 3 lakh crore is sanctioned under GECL, whichever is earlier. The main objective of the scheme is to provide an incentive to member lending institutions to increase access and enable availability of additional funding facility to MSME borrowers, in view of the economic distress caused by the COVID-19 crisis, by giving them 100 per cent guarantee for any losses suffered by them due to non-repayment of the GECL funding by borrowers. All MSME borrower accounts with an outstanding credit of up to Rs 25 crore as on February 29, which were less than or equal to 60 days past due as on that date, i.e., regular, SMA-0 and SMA-1 accounts, and with an annual turnover of up to Rs 100 crore, would be eligible for GECL funding under the scheme. Banks sanction over Rs 1 lakh cr loans to 30 lakh MSMEs under credit guarantee scheme

New Delhi, Nov 25 () Yes Bank on Monday sold over 16 lakh shares of Reliance Capital for around Rs 3 crore through an open market transaction.
 According to bulk deal data available with the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the private sector lender sold 16,78,900 shares at an average price of Rs 16.26 apiece. This took the total transaction value to Rs 2.72 crore.
 However, the buyer of the shares could not be ascertained.
 Shares of Reliance Capital Ltd ended 0.61 per cent higher at Rs 16.40 on the NSE.
 On Friday, the private sector lender had sold more than 13 lakh shares of Reliance Capital for over Rs 2 crore through an open market transaction.
 In October, Reliance Nippon Asset Management Company had directed its trustees to sell the remaining shares pledged by Rana Kapoor, co-founder of Yes Bank, as a collateral with the mutual fund house, sources had said.
 According to a separate block deal on the BSE, Link Investment Trust and Emerald Investments Ltd together bought shares worth Rs 157 crore in Eris Lifesciences Ltd.
 The data showed that Link Investments picked up 2.44 lakh shares in the firm, while Emerald Investments bought a total of over 35.7 lakh shares, at an average price of Rs 411.5 apiece.
 This together translated into a deal amount of Rs 157.33 crore.
 The shares bought by the firms were sold by public shareholders of Eris Lifesciences, Hetal Rasiklal Shah and Bhikhalal Chimanlal Shah, among other sellers.
 On the BSE, shares of Eris Lifesciences ended at Rs 432.5 apiece, 4.41 per cent higher than the previous close. SRS HRS

Yes Bank sells over 16 lakh shares of Reliance Capital

New Delhi, Jan 30 () Yes Bank on Thursday said it has sold more than 15 lakh shares, constituting 2.68 per cent of equity stake, of SICAL Logistics in various tranches.
 The shareholding of Yes Bank in SICAL Logistics has come down to 5.49 per cent post sale of the 15.66 lakh shares, according to a regulatory filing.
 The private lender on January 15 had announced acquisition of 
60,00,000 equity shares constituting around 10.25 per cent of paid-up share capital of SICAL Logistics Limited through invocation of pledged shares.
 The bank on January 23 had sold more than 12 lakh shares of SICAL Logistics, bringing its stake to around 8 per cent. 
 "Yes Bank has sold 15,66,909 equity shares having nominal value of Rs 10 each, constituting 2.68 per cent of the paid-up share capital of SICAL Logistics Limited (SICAL) in various tranches, last being on January 29, 2020 resulting into a change in holding of the bank by more than 2 per cent of the total shareholding of SICAL," Yes Bank said in a regulatory filing on Thursday.
 SICAL Logistics is engaged in providing dredging and retail supply chain logistics solutions.

Yes Bank sells over 15 lakh shares of SICAL Logistics

The <keyword id="6354335" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="reserve-bank-of-india" source="Orion">Reserve Bank of India</keyword> (<keyword id="30067" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rbi" source="Orion">RBI</keyword>) has imposed a monetary penalty of Rs 26 lakh on <keyword id="16226693" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Nutan-Nagarik-Sahakari-Bank" source="Orion">Nutan Nagarik Sahakari Bank</keyword>, Ahmedabad for non-compliance with certain directions of the central bank. This penalty has been imposed in exercise of the powers vested in RBI conferred under the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, the central bank said. This action of the central bank is based on a deficiency in regulatory compliance and is not intended to pronounce upon the validity of any transaction or agreement entered into by the bank with its customers. The statutory inspection of the bank conducted by RBI with reference to its financial position as on March 31, 2020, and examination of the risk assessment report and all related correspondence pertaining to the same revealed that the bank failed to pay interest at the rate applicable to saving deposits on certain overdue recurring and fixed deposit accounts at the time of their repayment and had issued ATM-cum-debit cards to certain cash credit account holders, according to a statement released on Monday evening. In furtherance to the same, a notice was issued to the bank advising it to show cause as to why the penalty should not be imposed for non-compliance with the RBI directions. After considering the bank's reply to the notice, additional submissions made by the bank and the oral submissionsmade during the personal hearing, the central bank said it came to the conclusion that the charge of non-compliance with the aforesaid RBI directions were substantiated and warranted imposition of monetary penalty, to the extent of non-compliance with such directions. RBI slaps ₹26 lakh penalty on Nutan Nagarik Sahakari Bank

The platform, which has 450 million customers, will be distributing loans of up to ₹5 lakh which can be repaid in up to three years, it said in a statement. The announcement comes amid reports of <keyword id="30067" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rbi" source="Orion">RBI</keyword>'s concerns on the high growth in the more riskier unsecured lending segment like personal loans and credit cards. "As Indian consumers continue to evolve, an increasing aspiration exists to enhance their lifestyles," the Flipkart statement said. The facility in tie-up with the third largest private sector lender will empower customers with increased purchasing power, it added. Flipkart's senior vice president for fintech and payments group, Dheeraj Aneja said the e-commerce platform already offers financing avenues like Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL), Equated Monthly Installments (EMI), and Co-branded Credit Cards to support buyers. "Our focus is to enable credit and enhance purchasing power by granting access to liquidity precisely when needed. These financial solutions cater to the evolving demands of consumers, offering greater flexibility and convenience throughout their purchasing journeys," Aneja added. Axis Bank's president and head of digital business and transformation, Sameer Shetty, said the bank will be able to offer lending to a wider spectrum of customers through the partnership. Customers will be able to get loan approvals in 30 seconds under the partnership, the statement said.

Flipkart to distribute Axis Bank personal loans of up to ₹5 lakh

New Delhi, Apr 1 () As many as 34 lakh transactions took place through Post Office Savings Bank and 6.5 lakh transactions through India Post Payments Bank, during the lockdown period as on March 31. Online medicine company netmeds.com and e-commerce company Amazon have also approached India Post for delivery of medicine and essential commodities in metros and some other locations, an official release said. "During the lockdown period as on 31.03.2020, 34 lakh transactions were effected through POSB (Post Office Savings Bank) and 6.5 lakh transactions were effected through IPPB (India Post Payments Bank). Around 2 lakh accountable mails including speed post registered letters, parcels and money-orders were delivered," it said. Mobile Post Offices are functioning in Kerala, Telengana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and some other circles to provide essential postal and financial services. The routes of these mobile post offices are decided depending upon requirements, the statement said. The Department of Posts is also moving ventilators, COVID-19 Test Kits and other medical equipments as per requests of various organisations from selected locations to destinations across the country by using cargo airlines and its own mail motor network. The Telengana Circle has tied up with the Health Department for distribution of medical kits, while Gujarat Circle has despatched consignment of medical supplies and essential medicines to Surat, Bharuch, Valsad, Rajkot, Jaipur, Pune and Kolkata in partnership with Indian Drug Manufacturing Association. "Under the Ganga Swaroop Yojana, a scheme of Government of Gujarat for payment of benefits to widows, Gujarat Circle has drawn an extensive mechanism to ensure such payments in rural and semi-urban areas to widow beneficiaries.
