As per a statement, actor Abhimanyu Singh will play the villain in the film, which is being directed by <keyword id="20185967" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rajkumar-santoshi" source="keywords">Rajkumar Santoshi</keyword>. On having Abhimanyu on board, Santoshi said, "Usually, whenever we think of a villain's character, the first few names that come to our mind are Amrish ji and Danny ji but we have to look forward and see who's taking the baton ahead. Interestingly, we have roped in Abhimanyu Singh who will be seen playing a strong and lead role as antagonist in Lahore 1947. His intensity, his voice, and his conviction are truly unbeatable. Sunny Deol to lock horns with Abhimanyu Singh in 'Lahore 1947'

Amid massive surge in the prices of various vegetables and fruits in <keyword id="6580" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="lahore" source="Orion">Lahore</keyword> and other parts of <keyword id="6354953" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="punjab" source="Orion">Punjab</keyword> province due to devastating floods, the Pakistan government may import tomato and onion from <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword>, according to the market dealers here. "On Sunday, per kilogram of tomato and onion were available in Lahore's markets at around Rs500 and Rs400 respectively. However, in Sunday markets both commodities were available at Rs 100 per kg less than that of those available in regular markets," Jawaad Rizvi, a wholesale dealer of Lahore market, told PTI. He said that in the coming days the prices of commodities will increase further as the supply of vegetables from <keyword id="45793" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="balochistan" source="Orion">Balochistan</keyword>, <keyword id="12961" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="sindh" source="Orion">Sindh</keyword> and south Punjab has badly been affected because of floods. "In the coming days, onion and tomato per kg prices may cross Rs700. Similarly, potato price has increased from Rs40 per kg to Rs120kg," Rizvi said. In the markets, the short supply of vegetables is because of destruction of the crops on thousands of acres by the floods in Balochistan and Sindh. It is learnt the federal government is considering the option to import onion and tomato from India through Wagah border. Currently, Lahore and other cities of Punjab are getting the supply of tomato and onion from Afghanistan via the Torkham border. "One hundred containers of tomato and around 30 of onion are being received at Torkham border daily, out of which two containers of tomato and one of onion is being brought to Lahore city on a daily basis and the number of containers is absolutely too short to meet the demand in the provincial capital of Punjab, according to <keyword id="14835633" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="lahore-market-committee" source="Orion">Lahore Market Committee</keyword> Secretary Shehzad Cheema. He said vegetables like capsicum or bell pepper are also short in the market due to the floods. Cheema said the government would eventually import onion and tomato from India. He said import of vegetables from Iran via Taftan border (Balochistan) was not viable as the Iranian government had increased taxes on its imports and exports. He said the prices of date palm and banana would also go up in the coming days as most of the orchards in Sindh had been destroyed by the floods. Apple supply from Balochistan or other areas had also been stopped due to flooding. According to officials, floods have claimed over 1,030 lives so far, with 74 deaths reported in Sindh, 31 in Khyber Pakhtaunkhawa, six in Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B), four in Balochistan and one in Punjab. The ticket fare of the bus for one time trip from Pakistan to China will be ₹13,000 whereas it will cost ₹23,000 for the same journey beginning from China and ending in Pakistan.

While the base-fare remained at Rs 100, the company has kept the per-minute charges at Rs 3.7.

He also tweeted a map of all the trips that Uber made in its first month in Lahore. 
 
An Uber spokesperson confirmed the fact, saying “There is a driver who successfully maxed out our income charts by making around Rs 130,000 in only 30 days, which is impressive.” 
 
One reason of their high earnings could be the fact that at the moment Uber has a relatively less number of cabs plying in the city- and as has been noticed, the demand for an Uber is unbearably high. This trend could well wear drown once Uber increases its fleet in Lahore. 
 
Presently, Uber has started out with 100 drivers/cabs in Lahore and is offering its UberGo vehicles in Pakistan which include Suzuki Swifts, Toyota Vitz, Toyota Corollas and Honda Civic among others. There is also the economical Uber Pool that allows two or more people to share a ride and split the fare. 
 
The company aims to offer luxurious cars under UberBlack and UberLUX later.

Uber Pakistan’s top driver made Rs 130,000 in just 30 days

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had no plans to visit Lahore and was supposed to come back from Kabul to New Delhi. But his impromptu plan to visit Lahore sent the security into action, which managed Modi’s visit with aplomb. 
 
Modi had called Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to greet him on his birthday, when Sharif asked Modi to visit Islamabad. 
 
Sharif, who was in Lahore for his granddaughter’s wedding, said he won’t be able to make it to Islamabad and requested Modi to come to Lahore. 
 
This plan of a pit stop in Lahore, that too at Sharif’s residene, which is 45 kilometres away from the airport, was successful all thanks to the security of both the countries. 
 
Senior government officials aware of the deliberations told ET, “Aap Lahore mein ghar aa jayiye, Lahore ke darwaze bhi aap ke liye khule hain (Come to my Lahore home, the doors of Lahore are also open for you). 
 
Then the security concerns were discussed with NSA Ajit Doval and the SPG officials. 
 
"Islamabad has an institutionalised security protocol and setup for VVIP visits from the US and elsewhere which we were comfortable with even in the case of a sudden trip. But the Lahore surprise pit-stop was a big challenge for the SPG," a senior official told ET. 
 
The security overcame two challeneges-IAF chopper at Lahore airport and Modi’s 45-kilometre road journey from the airport to Sharif's Raiwind Palace through the heart of Lahore. 
 
Pakistan promised foolproof security at the Lahore airport and assured a Pak Air Force Chopper would fly both PMs to Raiwind and back. 
 
"Sharif flying in the same chopper with Modi was the biggest assurance that security would be top-notch," a senior official told ET.

An official list of 60 proscribed terror outfits, released by Pakistan, has cleared all doubts about <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Mumbai+attack+mastermind+Hafiz+Saeed">Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed</a>. His terror group <keyword id="44125" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Jamaat-ud-Dawa">Jamaat-ud-Dawa</keyword> (JuD) and Afghanistan-based dreaded Haqqani network are not banned in Pakistan. 
 
JuD is listed as a terror outfit by the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=United+Nations">United Nations</a>, but it’s not a terror group in Pakistan. 
 
However, the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Pakistan+government+">Pakistan government</a> has put the JuD on the list of groups being closely watched by officials. This means that it can be banned if found guilty of promoting militancy. 
 <keyword id="44106" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Hafiz-Saeed">Hafiz Saeed</keyword> has a $10 million US government bounty against him. He is responsible for the 2008 Mumbai attacks that killed 166 people, but he moves freely across Pakistan. 
 Moreover, he has recently filed a plea in a <keyword id="52954" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Lahore-court">Lahore court</keyword>, seeking ban on the release of <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Bollywood+movie+Phantom+">Bollywood movie Phantom</a> in Pakistan, alleging that the film, set on post-26/11 attacks and global terrorism, contains "filthy propaganda" against the country. 
 
In the petition, Saeed pleaded that the Saif Ali Khan-starrer film, which is scheduled to release on 28 August, has "venom against Pakistan and Jamaat-ud-Dawa". 
 
Further, the al-Qaeda-linked dreaded Haqqani network, blamed for several deadly attacks against Western and Indian interests in Afghanistan including the 2008 bombing of the Indian mission in Kabul, is also not on the list. 
 
According to the list, there are 60 organisations banned by Pakistan for their involvement in militancy. 
 Arranged in alphabetical order, the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) is on number 39 while <keyword id="148497" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Jaish-e-Muhammad">Jaish-e-Muhammad</keyword> (JeM) is on 29. 
 
The list also includes top militant groups like <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=al-Qaeda+and+Tehreek-e-Taliban+Pakistan">al-Qaeda and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan</a>. 
 
The Islamic State or Daesh, which had made in-roads in the region, is also not included in the list. 
 LeT and JeM were proscribed on January 14, 2002 in the wake of attack on <keyword id="145182" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Indian-Parliament">Indian parliament</keyword>. 
 
The JuD is the only group under official observation, shows the list. The group runs schools and hospitals and carry out charitable work during floods and other natural disasters.

It’s official now! Hafiz Saeed-led JuD, Haqqani network not banned in Pakistan

NEW DELHI: Pakistan <keyword id="71" type="POSITION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Prime-Minister">Prime Minister</keyword> <keyword id="6576" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Nawaz-Sharif">Nawaz Sharif</keyword> on Tuesday called his meeting with Prime Minister <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword> as a 'good, healthy and constructive' one. "I had a very warm meeting with PM Narendra Modi," Sharif said. 
 Calling the meeting a historic event, Sharif said, "We seek to pick up threads from <keyword id="6580" type="COMPANY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Lahore">Lahore</keyword> declaration from where we left in 1999. Legacy of mistrust and misgivings have to be left behind." "India and Pakistan have a common agenda of peace and economic stability. We agreed to review and carry forward our bilateral agenda," he added. 
 
"My government stands ready to discuss with India all issues in a spirit of cooperation," Sharif said. "I urge that we should change from confrontation to cooperation and not engage in accusations and counter-accusations," he said. 
 
Stating that he was pleased to be in Delhi on Narendra Modi's invite, Sharif said, "I have invited Indian PM Narendra Modi to Pakistan." "Foreign secretaries from both the sides will hold meetings to take talks further," he said. 
 
Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised issues of terror and the trial in Mumbai attack case in his first bilateral meeting with Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif here today. 
 
According to sources, Modi raised the issue of slow pace of trial in 26/11 terror case which was being held in Pakistan and as also India's core concern of terror with the visiting Pakistani leader. 
 The two leaders also talked about ways to enhance cooperation in the field of trade during the meeting which was attended by External Affairs Minister <keyword id="6355111" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Sushma-Swaraj">Sushma Swaraj</keyword>, Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh among others, they said. 
 
The two leaders had a firm handshake and posed for photographers before heading towards the meeting room for talks at the ceremonial Hyderabad House.

Nawaz Sharif Calls Meeting With PM Modi Historic; Says Must Pick Up Ties From Vajpayee's Time

NEW DELHI: The government is still awaiting confirmation from Pakistan on whether or not Prime Minister <keyword id="6576" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Nawaz-Sharif">Nawaz Sharif</keyword> is going to attend PM-designate Narendra Modi's swearing-in on Monday. Pakistan did hail Modi's initiative as a bold move. 
 Leaders of all other Saarc countries, and also Mauritius PM Navinchandra Ramgoolam, have confirmed their participation apart from Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina who will be in Japan on Monday. Bangladesh will be represented by its <keyword id="202736" type="POSITION" weightage="40" keywordseo="Parliament-speaker">Parliament Speaker</keyword>. The Mauritius PM was invited after a telephonic conversation with Modi.

Pakistan's foreign ministry on Thursday said there was also the option of someone else being sent to represent Sharif, leading to speculation that Sharif's party was divided on the issue. Sources here said Modi and Sharif, if he does come, will have their first bilateral meeting on May 27. Modi is scheduled to have bilateral meetings with all other visiting leaders the same day. 
 
The Pakistan foreign office spokesperson suggested that Islamabad may consider sending a representative for Sharif. "It is normal practice that if the head of state has a preoccupation then he can nominate someone else. There is no violation of protocol,'' she said.

By inviting Sharif, Modi has also put the onus on the Pakistani PM to kick off the stalled dialogue process. This is especially true in the light of assertions by Pakistani authorities that Islamabad was willing to have a meaningful, result-oriented dialogue with India under Modi but that the initiative to break the logjam had to come from Modi himself.

The lone exception is <keyword id="1048837" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kya-Dilli-Kya-Lahore">Kya Dilli Kya Lahore</keyword>, starring <keyword id="31515" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Vijay-Raaz">Vijay Raaz</keyword> (he is also the <keyword id="303" type="POSITION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Director">director</keyword>) and <keyword id="422342" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Manu-Rishi">Manu Rishi</keyword> and offering an altogether different take on the trouble-torn <keyword id="2228533" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Indo-Pak-relationship">Indo-Pak relationship</keyword>. 
 
<keyword id="2223189" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="KDKL">KDKL</keyword> is an offbeat <keyword id="829894" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bollywood-flick">Bollywood flick</keyword> that dates back to 1948 and narrates the cross-border realities experienced by two ‘uprooted’ soldiers – <keyword id="2228536" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rehmat-Ali">Rehmat Ali</keyword> (<keyword id="6363210" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="Raaz">Raaz</keyword>) and <keyword id="2228527" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Samarth-Pratap">Samarth Pratap</keyword> (Rishi). Both are forced to leave their ‘original’ homeland due to <keyword id="6373578" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="partition">Partition</keyword> and compelled to live a life of bloodshed, bullets and the occasional enemy banter taking place across the border. Narrated &amp; presented by writer/lyricist <keyword id="7470" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="GUlzar">Gulzar</keyword> and garbed in dark humour, Kya Dilli Kya Lahore unfolds how ‘political’ issues impact real life as we relive the nostalgia, the helplessness and the pathos of it all. Although a commendable movie by the <keyword id="193380" type="POSITION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Debutant-director">debutant director</keyword>, it fared poorly at the domestic box office and fetched an abysmal Rs 7-8 lakh on the debut day (May 2). As per industry estimates, KDKL netted around Rs 35-40 lakh after the first three days while the budget (cost and P&amp;A) has reportedly stood at Rs 5.5 crore. The movie hit about 250 screens at home but suffered terribly from poor promotion and near-zero pre-release buzz. 
 But then, <keyword id="6356809" type="POSITION" weightage="80" keywordseo="producer">producer</keyword> <keyword id="476576" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Karan-Arora">Karan Arora</keyword> has told the media he is “not worried about the commercial viability” of the film and is content to know that he made “an honest film.” Film critic Shubhra Gupta sums it up well. “There’s something about the film that reminds you of the Bosnian Oscar winner <keyword id="1477726" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="No-Mans-Land">No Man’s Land</keyword>, a poignant reminder of the futility of war and the tragic waste of human lives. Kya Dilli Kya Lahore had the potential to be as powerful, maybe more, because it is our story… but single-tone. And that’s because the plot is so thin. This film could have been more.”

It’s the age-old story of two <keyword id="343" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="80" keywordseo="Friends">friends</keyword> falling for the same girl – the staid <keyword id="1594" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Siddharth">Siddharth</keyword> (<keyword id="582705" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Tanuj-Virwani">Tanuj Virwani</keyword>) from a poor background, the rich and spoilt brat <keyword id="23466" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sam">Sam</keyword> (<keyword id="1249127" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Aditya-Seal">Aditya Seal</keyword>) and the trophy girlfriend, <keyword id="59965" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Nayantara">Nayantara</keyword> (Brazilian <keyword id="334231" type="POSITION" weightage="60" keywordseo="model-turned-actress">model-turned actress</keyword> <keyword id="1701426" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Izabelle-Leite">Izabelle Leite</keyword>). What follows is a youth-focused but totally cliché script that depicts every possible human emotion without much cohesiveness and one can hardly relate to the ‘growth pangs’ we all face during those wonder years. 
 Directed by <keyword id="2228541" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Mahesh-Vaijnath-Doijode">Mahesh Vaijnath Doijode</keyword>, Kahin Hai Mera Pyar is all about an artist’s quest to find his dream girl, with loads of traditional <keyword id="143" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bollywood">Bollywood</keyword> trappings weighing it down. <keyword id="766838" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Abhishek-Sethiya">Abhishek Sethiya</keyword> and <keyword id="1049937" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sonia-Mann">Sonia Mann</keyword> don’t sizzle on-screen and the improbable storyline of this musical romance seems far removed from the reality. Although veteran <keyword id="297" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Jackie-Shroff">Jackie Shroff</keyword> shines, the rest looks totally bleak (yes, even the VFX is bad) and its bleak performance is amply reflected at the domestic box office. Even after four days, the official numbers are not available although industry insiders have already written it off. Ramesh Rout-directed Angry Young Man also suffers the same fate. Starring Ajay Sinh Rathod (Arjun) and <keyword id="2110776" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Prachi-Sinha">Prachi Sinha</keyword> (Sarah), this action movie reeks of <keyword id="26778" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="80" keywordseo="underworld">underworld</keyword>, revenge, love and benevolence – all rehashed from earlier Bollywood flicks of the same genre. The outcome is another flop and even here, the numbers are missing till date. So wait and watch for the next lot of movies to hit the theatres – those may just be able to break the Black Friday jinx plaguing the box office like never before.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) officials are trying to urge the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to work towards the <keyword id="21473003" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hybrid-model" source="keywords">hybrid model</keyword> for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy next year through <keyword id="24047280" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="back-channel-talks" source="keywords">back-channel talks</keyword>, as per sources. Sources said that back channel talks are going on to make PCB understand why the hybrid model is the best way to go for the tournament and why there cannot be an ICC tournament without the Indian cricket team. The sources have also said that top ICC officials are trying to get Pakistan stop making any statements against India. There are discussions going on with the host Pakistan and other participating teams of the Champions Trophy next year about the schedule and it is likely to be out in a couple of days or so, the sources added. India, the 2017 finalists, will not be playing their matches in Pakistan and their matches will be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), said the source. PCB wrote to the International Cricket Council (ICC) seeking reasons behind India's refusal to travel to Pakistan to play the ICC Champions Trophy next year, Geo News reported. India conveyed its stance of not travelling to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy, citing 'security concerns'. Speaking at a press interaction at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium, Naqvi said that PCB is still waiting for a reply from ICC. He also asked not to mix sports and politics."We have sent them [ICC] the questions we had. We are still waiting for their response. I believe that sports and politics are separate and no country should mix the two. Even now I still have positive expectations about the Champions Trophy," Naqvi was quoted by ESPNcricinfo as saying. He added that all the countries who qualified for the Champions Trophy 2025 are ready to visit Pakistan except India."At this moment, every team that has qualified for the Champions Trophy is ready to come. Nobody has any issues. I will say today also, if India has any concerns, speak to us about them, we can ease those concerns. I don't think there is any reason for them not to visit," he added. Earlier in the month, ICC conveyed to the PCB in writing that India would not travel to Pakistan to participate in the Champions Trophy, which will be held in early 2025.PCB consulted with the Pakistan government on the issue and is looking to present its stance. The Pakistan board wants India to travel to Pakistan as their team also went during the time of the ICC Men's ODI World Cup in 2023. Last year, Pakistan hosted the Asian Trophy, but it was held in a hybrid model, with India playing its matches in Sri Lanka. India and Pakistan played their last bilateral series in 2012-13 in India, a white-ball series and now mostly play in ICC tournaments and Asia Cup.
