Myopia or near-sightedness is a condition in which near objects appear clear but objects farther away look blurry. V-Guard to acquire Sunflame Enterprises for ₹660 crore

New Delhi, Jan 24 () The government on Friday announced appointment of L V Prabhakar as managing director and CEO of Canara Bank.
 He will replace R A Sankara Narayanan who demits office on January 31.
 The central government appoints L V Prabhakar as MD and CEO with effect from February 1, 2020, and up to the date of his attaining the age of superannuation December 31, 2022 or until further orders, an official order said.
 Prabhakar, currently executive director at Punjab National Bank. Prior to joining PNB in 2018, he served Allahabad Bank in various capacities.
 He took over the reins of Executive Director PNB at a tumultuous time when Nirav Modi fraud was unearthed. For a long period of time he single-handedly managed the responsibilities of three executive directors. 
He has spearheaded recovery efforts of the bank. During his tenure, the gross domestic business increased by Rs 1 lakh crore to landmark figure of Rs 11.45 lakh crore with gross recovery of more than Rs 20,000 crore.
 His zest for perfection and workmanship was exemplified by the fact that for a long period of time he single-handedly managed the responsibilities of three Executive Directors &amp; brought the Bank back on upward trajectory.

According to CCPA Chief Commissioner <keyword id="1868624" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="nidhi-khare" source="Orion">Nidhi Khare</keyword>, the CCPA has directed Flipkart to notify consumers of all 598 pressure cookers sold on its platform, recall the pressure cookers and reimburse their prices to the consumers and submit a compliance report of the same within 45 days. The company has also been directed to pay a penalty of Rs 1,00,000 for allowing sale of such pressure cookers on its e-commerce platform and violating rights of consumers. The <keyword id="6378065" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="central" source="Orion">Central</keyword> government, from time to time, notifies the <keyword id="10524664" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="quality-control-orders" source="Orion">Quality Control Orders</keyword> specifying compulsory conformity to a standard and use of standard mark for a product to protect consumers from risk of suffering injury and harm and in the interest of people at large. The <keyword id="13478363" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="domestic-pressure-cooker" source="Orion">Domestic Pressure Cooker</keyword> (Quality Control) order, which came into effect from February 1, 2021, mandates conformity to IS 2347:2017 for all domestic pressure cookers. Therefore, since February 1, 2021, all pressure cookers are required to conform to IS 2347:2017 and due diligence is required to be done whether the pressure cookers are offered for sale online or offline. The CCPA observed that provisions in the 'Flipkart terms of use' such as mandatory use of the words 'Powered by Flipkart' on every invoice of the product and distinguishing sellers as gold, silver and bronze for distribution of various benefits indicates the role played by Flipkart in sale of the pressure cookers on its e-commerce platform. Flipkart admittedly earned a total fee of Rs 1,84,263 through sale of such pressure cookers on its e-commerce platform. It was observed by CCPA that when Flipkart has gained commercially from the sale of such pressure cookers, it cannot alienate itself from the role and responsibility arising out of their sale to consumers.
